Kapitel 42

"Alright then, don't mind your aunt's nagging. It's getting late, you should go back now, so your father won't worry." She smiled, and after Gu Fengyan and Huo Duan agreed, she went back.

...

Only the two of them remained. Huo Duan, like a large dog caught in the rain, looked pitifully at Gu Fengyan with wet fur, saying, "Ayan, it hurts so much."

"Am I a dog?" Gu Fengyan ignored him, bent down, and smiled ambiguously, "I never knew President Huo had such a peculiar hobby, cuddling a dog under the moon and kissing it all over..."

Huo Duan jumped up from the ground, hugged Gu Fengyan and kissed his eyes, "Then I'm a dog too... a match made in heaven."

Taking advantage of the twilight, Huo Duan became very unrestrained.

Gu Fengyan couldn't push it away.

Who would repeatedly say they are a dog... Does this person have some kind of obsession with dogs? Gu Fengyan thought drowsily.

When they returned, Huo Duan was waiting for them in the Liu family courtyard, and Gu Fengyan went to see Liu Jingyu again.

Liu Jingyu lay listlessly on the headboard, looking less energetic than he had at the housewarming banquet. Gu Fengyan spoke a few words to him and handed a chicken and a ginseng he had brought to Madam Feng, instructing her to stew them to nourish him.

It was already dark when they left the Liu family's house. They hurried back, where Father Huo was still awake and waiting at the door.

Gu Fengyan got out of the car and walked over. "Father isn't asleep yet?"

"You're finally back," Father Huo breathed a sigh of relief. "How could your aunt possibly manage?"

"Huo Duan and I will help out, there shouldn't be any major problems." Gu Fengyan followed Huo Adi into the courtyard, and Huo Duan followed after arranging the carriage.

The courtyard gate was locked.

Father Huo nodded, "You two have had a hard time these past few days. I haven't been able to help at all."

Gu Fengyan smiled, "How can Father not be of help? Huo Duan and I don't handle family matters; we all rely on you. My aunt has already arranged for Father to go with her to the wedding another day..."

"Yan-ge'er has the sweetest tongue," Huo A-die chuckled.

After escorting Father Huo back to his room to rest, Huo Duan and Gu Fengyan went to their own room.

"Brother Xue will probably send the medicinal herbs tomorrow. Once this batch is sold, we can find medicine to treat Father's illness... and Jing-ge'er too." Gu Fengyan stretched and arranged tomorrow's itinerary.

Huo Duan followed behind him and nodded, "Return this batch to Xinglin Academy and find a new buyer next time. Xinglin Academy can't handle too many."

Their business has gradually gained some reputation in the county, and expanding it is not difficult.

Gu Fengyan hummed in agreement.

After passing the small garden, we arrived at the door of Huo Duan's house.

"Good night, Mr. Huo." Gu Fengyan turned around and waved with a smile.

Huo Duancai realized he was already at his room door and was a little stunned. After a while, he said, "Good night."

Gu Fengyan didn't move, leaning against the pillar and looking at Huo Duan with a meaningful smile... his eyes were moist and soft, like sticky honey that could be stretched into threads.

Huo Duan thought he was going to say something and was about to ask.

But then he heard a soft chuckle. In a daze, when he came back to his senses, Gu Fengyan was gone.

What did that look mean?

Huo Duan felt that Gu Fengyan wanted to say something, but he couldn't figure it out, just like groping in a thick fog for half the night.

Finally, in the middle of the night, he had an epiphany and sat up abruptly in bed.

Was Gu Fengyan inviting him?

Huo Duan thought about it again, and finally, he was sure... that night in the waterside pavilion, Gu Fengyan also had that kind of eyes that could drown a person.

No doubt about it.

Gu Fengyan was inviting him!

"Damn it," Huo Duan cursed under his breath.

Gu Fengyan's eyes were so obvious, yet he still tossed and turned like a block of wood, pondering for half the night!

If you're a real man, you should rush in now... Huo Duan immediately jumped off the bed, rolled up the blanket, grabbed it haphazardly, and strode towards Gu Fengyan's room.

A note from the author:

Thank you so much for your support! I will continue to work hard!

Chapter Forty

Gu Fengyan turned over. Moonlight streamed through the paper window, casting swaying shadows of a few tree branches that made him drowsy.

Just as I was about to close my eyes, I heard a knocking sound on the door.

I knocked on the door, but there was no sound.

Gu Fengyan ignored it and continued sleeping. The knocking outside stopped for a moment, then resumed.

“Ayan…”

Gu Fengyan pretended to be asleep with a smile, and simply buried half of his face in the quilt;

After a while, Huo Duan outside the door probably thought he was really asleep. He gently pushed the door twice, but there was no sound. Gu Fengyan listened carefully, but apart from the rustling of the leaves, it was completely silent.

Could it be that he went too far and actually tricked someone into going back? Gu Fengyan immediately threw off the covers, got out of bed barefoot, and walked towards the door.

The moment my toes touched the ground, there was a loud "bang" as the window beside the bed was suddenly flung open—

First, something was thrown in, and then Huo Duan nimbly flipped in, standing right in front of Gu Fengyan.

A tall shadow loomed down, completely enveloping Gu Fengyan without leaving any gaps. Huo Duan's eyes shone like stardust, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Why didn't you open the door? Why were you pretending to be asleep..." The oppressive feeling was overwhelming. Gu Fengyan instinctively took a step back, but before he could take more than a few steps, Huo Duan suddenly grabbed him by the waist and slammed him onto the bed.

"Naughty." Gu Fengyan's mind was a mess, and he only heard these two words before being forced to endure a burning kiss.

Pry it open little by little, go straight in, touch it with warmth and softness, and entice him to rub against it.

His head was completely muddled. Gu Fengyan groaned twice, his whole body limp and powerless.

He was about to push Huo Duan away, but the soft arm instead became an encouragement.

"Don't touch it." Huo Duan grabbed him and said in a hoarse voice.

Tick-tock, tick-tock—

Hot sweat streamed down his forehead, sliding down Gu Fengyan's snow-white neck and down his collar. Wherever it touched, a sensation like ants gently nibbling at you, neither too hard nor too soft, both painful and itchy.

Gu Fengyan's breathing was intermittent; he had been burned... He gently wiped the fine beads of sweat from Huo Duan's forehead with his hand, "You lecherous scoundrel, sneaking out the window in the middle of the night! Be careful, or I'll tell my husband..."

Huo Duan chuckled softly, took his palm in her hand, and kissed it.

"Bastard!" Gu Fengyan was forced to gasp for breath, his eyes reddening as he cursed.

The suppressed, cat-like panting sounds actually came from within him. Gu Fengyan's eyes welled up with tears, and he raised his hand to cover his eyes, his crimson lips slightly parted.

"I'll have a night with this beauty, and I guarantee you'll never remember who your husband is, Ayan..." Huo Duan's voice was low and hoarse as he pushed away his arm, his breath hot and anxious. "What do you want? What do you want?"

Huo Duan lowered his eyes, his lips moving across the ground... Desire burned away all reason, Gu Fengyan trembled all over, his eyes were bloodshot and he could not find relief.

He wanted to cry, feeling weak and intoxicated. He pushed Huo Duan away, as if to hit him, but his hand was shy and hesitant, like he was beckoning him. "Bastard!"

Huo Duan moved a little further away, coaxing with a smile, "Ayan, Young Master Gu, tell me, what do you want?"

The two remained locked in a stalemate, neither gaining the upper hand nor losing the upper hand. Fine beads of sweat appeared on Huo Duan's forehead, while the beauty murmured softly, and the scenery was breathtaking... He was almost ready to surrender on the spot.

Gu Fengyan felt empty and lonely, his anxiety and discomfort mixed together.

His glistening lips parted and closed several times, he was so ashamed that he couldn't utter a single word. He simply hooked his limp arm around Huo Duan's neck, his eyes and brows full of charm.

Huo Duan almost lost control. Gu Fengyan was beautiful in every way, but his eyes were the most beautiful. They were upturned, clear and affectionate, and could steal a person's soul with just a slight glance.

Moreover, given the current situation, with her eyes slightly moist, it would be difficult for anyone to control themselves.

Huo Duan's voice was strained and burning, "This won't do, Young Master Gu..."

Gu Fengyan trembled.

Huo Duan teased, yet it was neither painful nor itchy, like a cat scratching lightly.

Gu Fengyan had nowhere left to retreat.

"Ayan, Ayan... Young Master Gu, beauty, darling..." Huo Duan called him in different ways, his voice low. When they met eyes, Gu Fengyan saw a fire burning in his eyes. "Ayan, my wife, what do you want?" He was gentle and pitiful, seemingly holding the initiative firmly in his hands, but in reality, it was just a different way of pleading.

Gu Fengyan suddenly loosened his tightly clenched lips, opened his mouth, and uttered a single word in a hoarse voice, "You."

"What?" Huo Duan seemed not to have heard clearly, or perhaps he couldn't believe it.

Gu Fengyan was so ashamed he covered his eyes with the back of his hand, "I want you..."

I want you.

He wanted him. On the verge of surrendering, Huo Duan finally realized Gu Fengyan's feelings.

Gu Fengyan said he wanted him.

They loved each other.

“This is mine…this place is mine too, my Ayan.” Huo Duan almost choked up, tossing and turning over the jade-white and crimson, exposed and hidden.

Finally, they pressed Gu Fengyan into the bed.

The orchid lantern burned out... Outside the three-foot-long red curtain, the shadows of the trees swayed and danced, delicate and hidden. The moonlight, like water, slowly flowed into the shadows of the trees, engulfing him.

A light rain fell in the morning, and raindrops pattered against the leaves outside the window, making a melodious sound.

Gu Fengyan turned over and continued sleeping, his black hair disheveled, half of his jade-like shoulder and neck exposed, covered with red marks.

"You've worked hard." Huo Duan pulled the blanket up to the back of his neck, held a strand of black hair and kissed it lightly, his eyes filled with an irrepressible smile.

Gu Fengyan frowned, not even opening his eyes, and threw back the covers again, protesting silently.

Huo Duan chuckled to himself, then leaned in and kissed him on the eyes before getting out of bed.

"Sleep a little longer, I'll go buy breakfast," Huo Duan said solicitously.

Unfortunately, what he made was completely inedible, so he had to go out and buy some to offer as a substitute. (This refers to the food he made—food!—which was inedible.)

Gu Fengyan didn't speak, turning his head to the other side, trying to turn over, but after struggling for a long time, he couldn't move at all...

My whole body aches, and it's even difficult to turn over.

An unspeakable shame welled up within him. He turned his head back, glaring resentfully at Huo Duan, who was happily picking up pieces of clothing from the ground, looking refreshed and in high spirits. (He really was just picking up some clothes!)
