Chapitre 148

However, neither situation was something she could handle at her level. After all, she was merely a Great Luo Golden Immortal, one step away from becoming a Quasi-Saint. There were some things that were far beyond her control. Her task now was to inform Tathagata of this news. As for what Tathagata would do, that was his business. However, the Journey to the West was an opportunity for her, and she would not allow others to ruin it. Therefore, she had to maintain the proper demeanor. So, she looked at Mo Mo with a smile and said softly, "May I ask your name, fellow Daoist? What brings you here?"

When Guanyin asked him this question, Mo Mo finally raised his head. He looked Guanyin up and down again, still finding it hard to believe that she was a young woman of sixteen. Although this was just appearance and didn't necessarily mean she was old, Mo Mo still found it hard to accept, as it was too shocking. So he didn't answer Guanyin's question, but instead asked her with anticipation, "Are you Guanyin Bodhisattva of the Purple Bamboo Grove in the South China Sea?"

Guanyin was taken aback by Mo Mo's question. Logically speaking, she often traveled through the Three Realms, and not to mention immortals and gods, many people in the mortal world knew her. Mo Mo, with his cultivation level, should not be unaware of her. However, judging from the expression on Mo Mo's face, he did not seem to be teasing her. So she nodded and said, "If you are not mistaken, I should be the Guanyin Bodhisattva of the Purple Bamboo Grove in the South China Sea that you mentioned."

Hearing Guanyin's affirmative answer, Mo Mo was finally forced to accept the fact that the savior of suffering, Guanyin, was actually a young woman in her late teens. However, he suddenly remembered another question: many of the novels he had read mentioned that Guanyin was originally a disciple of the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable, and that he was male. Her current appearance was a change she made after joining Buddhism to break free from the constraints of her past. Thus, Mo Mo's gossip-loving nature ignited, and he directly asked, "Bodhisattva, I have always had a question. Could you please answer it for me?"

"Speak freely." Although Guanyin Bodhisattva was somewhat displeased that Mo Mo did not answer her questions but instead kept asking her more, she still agreed to Mo Mo's request.

"Bodhisattva, I have a question. I've always wanted to know, Bodhisattva, are you male or female?"

Chapter 445, Chapter 456: The Mystery

"Then Bodhisattva, may I ask? I've always wanted to know, Bodhisattva, is your true identity male or female?" After asking the question, Mo Mo stared intently at Guanyin's face. Guanyin was taken aback by Mo Mo's question, and then fell into a deep silence.

Just as Mo Mo was getting angry because Guanyin Bodhisattva was annoyed by his question, Guanyin Bodhisattva suddenly looked at Mo Mo with a compassionate expression and said, "Fellow Daoist, you took a picture. With your cultivation, can't you see through it? Physical appearance is just a shell. No matter how beautiful, it is just a beautiful skeleton. Why are you so fixated on my gender?"

"I was just curious. Besides, 'red and pink skulls, skulls and red and pink,' if you truly understood, you wouldn't be so fixated on this. Furthermore, heaven is divided into yin and yang, and humans into male and female. Only through the union of yin and yang can all things evolve, and only through the union of male and female can offspring be born. This is the ultimate truth of heaven and earth. If all living beings in the world ceased to reproduce, then there would be no life, and wouldn't that mean that soon there would be no living beings left in the world? So, the one truly attached to appearances is you." Mo Mo's words struck Guanyin Bodhisattva's mind like thunderbolts. It turned out that it was she who couldn't see through things; it turned out that she, who had been pursuing a state of desirelessness, had already fallen into obsession, because pursuing a state of desirelessness was also a form of desire.

Guanyin Bodhisattva, holding the Jade Pure Body, raised her right hand and bowed slightly to Mo Mo, saying, "Thank you for your guidance, fellow Daoist. I am deeply grateful for your help."

Mo Mo accepted Guanyin's bow with great composure, after all, he had indeed shown Guanyin some kindness in guiding him. Although even if Mo Mo hadn't said anything, she would have understood on her own soon enough, otherwise she wouldn't have realized it so quickly after Mo Mo spoke to her. After accepting Guanyin's bow, Mo Mo said with a smile, "I wonder if the Bodhisattva could answer my question from before?"

She hadn't forgotten the question Mo Mo had asked earlier, and her gender wasn't exactly a secret in the Three Realms; a little inquiry would reveal it. So she smiled and replied, "This humble nun was indeed a woman before attaining enlightenment, and has always been a woman. As for why you have such a question, I suspect it's because you heard a rumor from somewhere else. Although I don't know the origin of the rumor, I do have a general idea of why such a rumor exists."

"Oh? I'd like to hear more." This piqued Mo Mo's interest, so he took out a bag of melon seeds and sat down on a large rock nearby with great enthusiasm, looking like he was ready to watch a good show. Guanyin, having received Mo Mo's guidance and realizing that Mo Mo had no ill intentions towards her or the Buddhist sect, descended from the clouds and stood not far in front of Mo Mo. Although she felt that Mo Mo's appearance was somewhat strange, there were plenty of strange people in charge in the prehistoric land, so she didn't pay much attention to it.

After a moment's thought and a moment's thought, Guanyin Bodhisattva began to speak: "This probably has to do with the attainment of Buddhahood in Buddhism. As you probably know, the attainment of Buddhahood in Buddhism is generally divided into Buddha, Bodhisattva, and Arhat. Of course, there are many other classifications, but I won't go into detail. People call me Guanyin Bodhisattva, and this Bodhisattva is the attainment I have reached."

At this point, Guanyin glanced at Mo Mo, and seeing that Mo Mo was listening intently, she continued, "However, the Buddha guides those with affinity. Influenced by the etiquette and customs of the world, most Buddhist practitioners are men. Therefore, our Buddhist disciples are mostly male, with very few women. And those who achieve enlightenment are even rarer. Furthermore, the Buddha said that all beings are equal. Therefore, the enlightenment attained by our Buddhist disciples, regardless of gender, is called by the same name, without any distinction. Perhaps this is why outsiders think that all Buddhist disciples are male, and why the rumor spreads that I am actually a man."

"I see." Mo Mo nodded knowingly. However, it wasn't surprising that such a thing would happen. After all, not everyone knows the truth. So, once a rumor spreads, it becomes true because so many people say it. And, I'm not afraid to tell you, but when Mo Mo was a child, after watching Journey to the West, he had a rather bizarre idea. He was very certain that Buddha and Guanyin were a couple, and Tang Sanzang was their child. Yes, that's what Mo Mo thought back then. But when he grew up and became more sensible, he realized that it wasn't like that at all. Thinking back on it now, he finds it both funny and absurd. Of course, he would never have such an idea again now.

After answering Mo Mo's question, Guanyin smiled and looked at Mo Mo, saying, "Fellow Daoist, I have answered your question. Now, may I ask you to answer my previous question?"

"It seems that Guanyin really values the Journey to the West, otherwise why hasn't she given up after going through such a long and winding road?" After thinking for a moment, Mo Mo decided that there was no need to hide it from Guanyin Bodhisattva. So Mo Mo smiled and said, "I am just a rogue cultivator. My surname is Mo, my given name is Mo, and my sobriquet is Wangchen. Bodhisattva, please just call me Wangchen for now. As for why I am here, it is naturally because I have taken a liking to this place and want to settle down here. After all, such a blessed land is rare."

"Settle down? Fellow Daoist, you jest. This place is nice, but with your cultivation level, finding a better place shouldn't be difficult. Why choose this particular spot? Forgive my bluntness, but this isn't a good place to settle down. It might become a place of trouble in the future. Why don't you go to the heavens and find a job? I believe with your cultivation level, you can definitely secure a good position." Guanyin didn't believe Mo Mo's words at all. After all, without the strength of a Great Luo Immortal, one couldn't see the true extent of the situation, and who among those with Great Luo Immortal strength wouldn't know what was involved here? She didn't believe that a mountain with spiritual energy only slightly more concentrated than the outside world could attract a Golden Immortal level expert like Mo Mo to settle down here.

“Bodhisattva, you are mistaken. This mountain is the ancestral vein of the ten continents and the source of the three islands. It was established when the clear and turbid were separated and formed after the chaos was divided. It is a rare treasure land in the world. How could it not be a good place to settle down?” Mo Mo smiled and refuted Guanyin Bodhisattva’s words.

"Who exactly are you?" Guanyin Bodhisattva was shocked after hearing Mo Mo's words. She knew that even she would have had difficulty noticing the abnormality here if she hadn't observed carefully, because a powerful being had already laid down tremendous measures here, making it difficult for her to see clearly. However, Mo Mo had seen through it all in one sentence, so how could she not be shocked?

"Me? Bodhisattva, didn't I just say that I'm just a rogue cultivator?" Mo Mo still looked at Guanyin Bodhisattva with a smile, but Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at Mo Mo without saying a word for a long time. After several minutes, Guanyin sighed and said, "Fellow Daoist, listen to my advice. This place is not suitable for establishing a cave dwelling. If you really want to find a place to settle down, as long as you don't mind, half of my Luojia Mountain will be yours. You can find a place outside the Purple Bamboo Forest to establish a cave dwelling."

"Hmm? Living with Guanyin Bodhisattva, no, in the same temple, that seems pretty good. Guanyin is one of the leaders of Journey to the West, and her status in Buddhism is not low. She must know a lot. If I live with her on Mount Luojia, we can discuss the Tao and gather information in our spare time, right?"

Thinking of this, Mo Mo decisively decided to give up the idea of temporarily staying at Huaguo Mountain. From Guanyin's arrival, it could be seen how important the Buddhist sect was to this matter. Therefore, if he really wanted to live here, there would definitely be a lot of trouble. So he directly agreed to Guanyin Bodhisattva's suggestion.

Chapter 446 Leaving the Flower Fruit, Entering Luojia

Guanyin Bodhisattva arrived quite quickly, so Mo Mo had only just finished setting up the Water Curtain Cave and hadn't had time to set up the formation. Therefore, he didn't have much to pack up. He simply tidied up some daily necessities and left with Guanyin Bodhisattva. The tables, chairs, beds, and benches that he had conjured with his magic were considered gifts for the yet-to-be-born Sun Wukong.

As a bonus for this trip to Flower Fruit Mountain, Mo Mo also hid a scroll of metal-based cultivation techniques in the Water Curtain Cave. This technique had no other use than to strengthen one's body by refining metals. Mo Mo remembered that he had once seen somewhere that when Sun Wukong was suppressed under the Five Fingers Mountain by the Buddha, he ate copper pills and drank molten iron every day. Over time, his foundation was damaged and his magical power greatly decreased, which made him unable to defeat any powerful demons during his journey to the West.

Although Mo Mo didn't know if it was true, it was a rare opportunity, and if it were, and Sun Wukong learned this technique, it would be a great good deed. After all, Sun Wukong's background was not weak, and there might be unexpected gains. Besides, it was just a technique. He had collected many such techniques from various worlds, and even he didn't know how many there were. Moreover, techniques were not consumables. Once he had seen one, he could copy as many as he wanted.

After resolving the matter at Flower Fruit Mountain, Mo Mo and Guanyin rode a cloud back to Luojia Mountain in the South China Sea. It must be said, while Luojia Mountain couldn't compare to Flower Fruit Mountain, it was still a rare treasure land. Not only was the spiritual energy of heaven and earth abundant, but the island also possessed a natural concealment formation, making it impossible for ordinary immortals and gods to discover. Furthermore, thanks to Guanyin Bodhisattva's years of cultivation, the island had countless array formations and restrictions. Due to the abundant spiritual energy, the soil on the island was almost ready to transform into jade, making it a veritable land of spiritual materials. However, the island had an array that suppressed the birth of spiritual souls in creatures. In other words, nothing on the island could become sentient without her permission. This was understandable, given the rich spiritual energy of the place; without such an array, everything here would probably have become sentient long ago.

As per his previous agreement with Guanyin, Mo Mo's cave dwelling could not be located in the Purple Bamboo Forest, which was her place of quiet cultivation and her territory. Mo Mo was not allowed to trespass without her permission. Therefore, Mo Mo built several bamboo huts on another hillside outside the Purple Bamboo Forest as his temporary abode. It's worth mentioning that the bamboo Mo Mo used to build the huts was cut from Guanyin's Purple Bamboo Forest. When Guanyin arrived and saw that a large part of the Purple Bamboo Forest was empty, she couldn't help but twitch her lips and almost lost her temper. She had carefully nurtured the Purple Bamboo Forest for many years to achieve its current size. Normally, she wouldn't give much to the gods and Buddhas in heaven who came to ask for it, but now Mo Mo had cut down a large area. She even began to doubt whether inviting Mo Mo to establish his abode here was a mistake. However, for the sake of the peace of the Journey to the West, she decided to endure it and at least test Mo Mo's capabilities.

However, this was just the beginning. Mo Mo then began wandering around the island, digging up any suitable spiritual herbs and immortal plants without hesitation and transplanting them into the small medicinal field he had cultivated. If she hadn't been so determined, the small animals on the island would probably have been captured and raised in his spirit beast garden by Mo Mo. In the end, after more than a month of this, Mo Mo finally stopped. When Guanyin saw the temple that Mo Mo had built, even she, with her strong character, couldn't help but feel speechless. This was nothing like a temple; it was just an ordinary mortal courtyard.

A small courtyard, a few bamboo houses, a well, a medicinal herb garden, a few vegetable plots—if you raise a few chickens, it would be just like the courtyard of an ordinary family in the mortal world. And she finally understood what Mo Mo meant by settling down. He really just wanted to find a place to live, no wonder he agreed so readily.

After building his own courtyard, Mo Mo would occasionally seek out Guanyin to discuss the Dao. Half a year passed in the blink of an eye. During this time, Guanyin became even more certain that Mo Mo was no ordinary immortal, because Mo Mo's understanding of the Dao was even more profound than that of the Buddha. This was very enlightening for Guanyin. However, this also raised a big question for her, because Mo Mo seemed to have little understanding of the current situation in the world, and didn't even know some of the most basic things. Finally, after discussing the Dao with Mo Mo again, Guanyin couldn't help but ask the question that had been on her mind.

"Fellow Daoist, Guanyin has gained much from discussing the Dao with you these past few days, but one question has been lingering in her mind, and she is unsure whether she should ask it." Guanyin's expression was somewhat conflicted. After all, she had indeed benefited greatly during this period, and asking this question might create a rift between Mo Mo and her. She was reluctant to let Mo Mo leave, as Mo Mo's current level of attainment was comparable to that of Tathagata. Even she rarely had the opportunity to hear Tathagata preach, but Mo Mo would come to discuss the Dao with her every few days, and she could also consult Mo Mo with any questions she might have. She did not want to lose such an opportunity.

"Anything you can ask me is fine. My current residence was provided by Guanyin. Just ask me anything, and I will do my best to answer as long as I know the answer." Mo Mo didn't make any promises, after all, there were some things that couldn't be said. Although Guanyin usually wouldn't trick him, it's better to be safe than sorry, so he could only say he would do his best.

Everyone has their own secrets, and Guanyin herself was no exception. Therefore, she wasn't surprised by Mo Mo's ambiguous and clearly reserved approach. However, she didn't know if the question she wanted to ask was a secret Mo Mo couldn't reveal. But since things had come to this point, she had no reason to hesitate. So she took a deep breath and calmly said, "These past few days, I have gained a great deal from discussing the Dao with you, fellow Daoist. Your understanding of the Great Dao far surpasses mine, and your strength should also far surpass mine. However, I don't know why, but I observe that you seem to lack understanding of the affairs of the Three Realms. Why is that?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Guanyin felt a sense of relief. She then stared intently at Mo Mo, her beautiful eyes filled with anticipation. However, she soon realized that she had lost her composure. After so many years, she was actually feeling nervous and expectant for the first time today. This caused a slight ripple in Guanyin's usually calm heart. However, as a Bodhisattva with profound cultivation, she quickly calmed the ripples in her heart and returned to being the calm and compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva.

"So that's the problem! Although there are some issues, telling you won't solve anything. But what I say must be heard by you, and not told to outsiders, otherwise I won't have peace of mind." Guanyin's changing expression naturally didn't escape his notice. After thinking it over, Mo Mo decided to tell Guanyin. After all, Guanyin was indeed a person who cared for all living beings, and Mo Mo could see that Guanyin had no ill intentions towards him. Therefore, he didn't want to hide it from her, but what needed to be kept secret still needed to be kept secret.

"Of course, monks do not lie. Fellow Daoist, please speak freely. Guanyin will never tell anyone else." Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded solemnly.

After receiving Guanyin's affirmative answer, Mo Mo's lips moved slightly, but no sound came out. Guanyin, who was opposite Mo Mo, had a sudden change in expression and looked at Mo Mo with a look of shock, unable to calm down for a long time.

Chapter 447 Exciting News

Time flies, and a hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye. Since the day he told Guanyin about his identity, Guanyin often took the initiative to visit Mo Mo's hut to discuss the Dao with him. However, although it was called discussing the Dao, most of the time Guanyin was listening to Mo Mo preach. Of course, Mo Mo did not favor one over the other. The little black dragon and the others were also brought out by Mo Mo. In addition to the little fox and the little black dragon, the Wu sisters and Huiye never missed a single preaching session. Over the past hundred years, the five women have become familiar with Guanyin and often follow Guanyin around. They have gotten to know many of the gods and Buddhas in the heavens. Of course, Mo Mo is no exception.

For the past century, Mo Mo has been searching for a mysterious and powerful figure, a figure only heard of in legends and rarely seen by anyone. This story begins on the day Mo Mo revealed his identity to Guanyin.

After Mo Mo revealed his identity to Guanyin that day, Guanyin was stunned for a long time. When she finally came to her senses, she was filled with excitement and looked at Mo Mo with fervor. She then stood up from her lotus platform and walked to within a meter of Mo Mo, staring at him with burning eyes and asking him a series of questions. Her expression was like that of a foodie encountering their favorite delicacy. In the end, Mo Mo told her some less important things, and to make his story more convincing, he even summoned the little black dragon and the others. When the little fox accidentally revealed that Mo Mo could freely travel through the myriad realms, Guanyin instantly appeared in front of Mo Mo, involuntarily grabbing his hands, too excited to speak. Her burning eyes seemed to make her want to devour Mo Mo whole.

Finally, Mo Mo told a lie. He told Guanyin that although he could travel through the myriad worlds, his abilities were almost completely exhausted after arriving here, so he needed time to recover. He promised to take her away with him after he recovered. Gradually, Guanyin calmed down, realized her previous loss of composure, and finally took the initiative to explain the reason for her loss of composure.

After hearing Guanyin's explanation, Mo Mo realized that this world was somewhat different from what he knew. The biggest difference was that this world did not only have six saints (not counting Hongjun who had already achieved Dao), but seven. However, to Mo Mo's surprise, apart from the extra saint, the rest was no different from the primordial world he knew. According to Guanyin, only a very few powerful beings knew this information, and she only learned it from Tathagata by a very rare chance.

According to Guanyin, that saint appeared suddenly in the early primordial era. At the beginning, she was indeed not powerful, and could even be said to be very weak, not even reaching the level of a loose immortal. But strangely, she had many strange abilities, and her life form was different from that of this world. However, because she was too weak at the beginning, no one paid attention to her until one day she was targeted by a great demon of the Great Luo level who wanted to forcibly marry her as a Daoist partner. She killed him in return, and that's when she gradually came to people's attention. However, what surprised those great beings was that no matter how they tried to deduce, they could not figure out the origin of that person, let alone find her.

Finally, when Dao Ancestor Hongjun merged with the Dao and preached at Zixiao Palace, she re-entered the public eye. However, to the astonishment of all the powerful beings who came to listen, there was no seat for her in Zixiao Palace. Even Dao Ancestor could only vaguely deduce some information about her. In the end, he made an exception and added a seat for her. For some unknown reason, when the sermon ended, Dao Ancestor suddenly revealed her identity. It was only then that those powerful beings learned her identity: she did not belong to this world.

Such explosive news naturally stirred the powerful beings, who were eager to learn about other worlds. They all inquired with that person, but the conversations ended badly. However, when the Dao Ancestor preached again, something astonishing happened this time. That person, despite not obtaining the Primordial Purple Qi, had already achieved sainthood on the righteous path ahead of everyone else, and even proved the Dao through force. It is said that that person had a very good relationship with the Goddess Nuwa. With that person's help, the originally weakest Goddess Nuwa, although her magic weapons were not strong, was now firmly among the top saints. Even other saints often wanted to discuss the Dao with that person, but unfortunately, they could not get the chance. This is also why Guanyin was overjoyed when she heard that Mo Mo was not from this world.

From the bits and pieces of information Guanyin described, Mo Mo deduced that the person was very likely Xiao Shu, who had voluntarily requested to enter the prehistoric world. What excited Mo Mo the most was that, according to Guanyin, she had the good fortune to visit the Nuwa Palace hundreds of years ago, and that person was also present at the time. She was fortunate enough to see that person, but unfortunately, she could not see that person's true appearance, which made Mo Mo somewhat regretful. Based on the clues obtained from this hundred-year search, Mo Mo was 100% certain that the mysterious saint Guanyin spoke of was Xiao Shu.

What puzzled Mo Mo was that if Xiao Shu were still in this world, given her strength, she should have been able to discover that the person looking for her was Mo Mo and come looking for her herself. But what surprised Mo Mo was that Xiao Shu didn't come looking for him at all, which disappointed him. He suspected that Xiao Shu might have already left, but he wasn't one to give up easily. Therefore, he decided to wait here until the Journey to the West ended. Because, according to Liu Xueqing's personality, if they could really come back, how could they not come and join in the fun of such a lively event as the Journey to the West?

So Mo Mo waited for a hundred years. During this time, besides gathering a lot of information and making many acquaintances with immortals and gods, he also integrated into this world with the help of Guanyin. He even acquired a fairly good title: Peach Blossom Hermit. Every time this title was mentioned, Mo Mo wanted to beat up Lü Dongbin of the Eight Immortals of Shangdong, because it was Lü Dongbin who spread this title. The reason Lü Dongbin gave Mo Mo this title was very simple: the place where Mo Mo lived was full of immortal peach blossoms all year round, and Mo Mo's Peach Blossom Wine was considered the best in the Three Realms. Thus, the title of Peach Blossom Hermit was given to him, while his real Daoist name, Wangchen, was little known.

Meanwhile, Mo Mo was comfortably napping in a hammock under the peach tree, while Guanyin was off to relieve suffering. After all, Guanyin Bodhisattva's act of relieving suffering is not just empty words. Therefore, every now and then, Guanyin would leave Luojia Mountain to do good deeds and save people. The little black dragon and the others would occasionally go with her to help. However, this time they did not go. Instead, they hid in Mo Mo's little world to take refuge. This was because when the little black dragon and the others went out with Guanyin before, they roasted and ate the mount of a certain important figure who had secretly descended to the mortal world.

While Mo Mo was taking a leisurely afternoon nap, a young sword immortal, dressed in flowing white robes and riding a celestial sword, and a stunningly beautiful immortal riding on auspicious seven-colored clouds were chatting and laughing together on the vast sea. Guanyin, who was in the process of transforming into a mortal to enlighten the world, seemed to receive some message and quickly reverted to her true form to rush back.

Chapter 448 This is awkward.

In Journey to the West, Sun Wukong's somersault cloud is very famous. One somersault can cover 108,000 li, and his speed can be said to be among the top among immortals and gods. However, this is not the ultimate speed. In fact, many supernatural powers passed down from the primordial era are faster than his. For example, Lu Ya, the son of the former Heavenly Emperor, now the Great Sun Tathagata's Rainbow Transformation Technique, and the Kunpeng Speed of the Demon Master Kunpeng. Of course, these two are innate supernatural powers that others cannot learn. In addition to these two, there are the most famous ones, such as the ability to shrink the distance between people and the world, and the ability to shrink the earth to an inch. Of course, this does not mean that other speeds cannot catch up with Sun Wukong.

Just like in the story of "Havoc in Heaven", Erlang Shen fought with Sun Wukong to a standstill, and Sun Wukong was never able to get rid of Erlang Shen. This shows that Erlang Shen's speed was actually no slower than Sun Wukong's. There is another very famous god in Heaven whose speed should also be no less than Sun Wukong's. That is Nezha, whose Wind Fire Wheels are also incredibly fast.

At this moment, if Sun Wukong of later generations saw the speed at which Guanyin rushed back after receiving the message, he would surely be ashamed to death. Just a second ago, she was enlightening people in a human town hundreds of thousands of miles away, and a moment later she was back in the South China Sea. Then, the next second she entered Mount Luojia. However, Guanyin did not return to her Purple Bamboo Forest after returning to Mount Luojia, but flew straight to the Peach Forest where Mo Mo was.

Guanyin flew to Mo Mo's peach grove and immediately saw him sleeping in a hammock. At that moment, Mo Mo lay peacefully on his side in the hammock, a faint smile on his lips. The peach blossoms above him were scattered by the wind, some landing on Mo Mo, while the blossoms on him would sometimes flutter away again. For some reason, Guanyin was mesmerized by this scene. She realized that Mo Mo seemed to have merged into this world. At this moment, he was not Mo Mo, but a part of the peach grove. He was just one of the countless petals in the peach grove. She believed that if she looked away, she would no longer be able to find Mo Mo in the peach grove.

She didn't know how much time had passed when Guanyin was awakened by a call, pulling her out of her trance. To her surprise, the Mo Mo she saw had returned to his original form; he was no longer part of the Peach Blossom Forest. Although he was there, Guanyin could spot him instantly. When Guanyin came to her senses, she was startled by her own transformation. She discovered that her primordial spirit was at least one layer more solidified than before. How could she not understand that she had just entered a special state of enlightenment? As for why she had suddenly entered this state, she was completely baffled. Perhaps it was related to Mo Mo, but with guests arriving, it wasn't the time to delve into that question.

With a wave of her hand, she opened the great formation of Luojia Mountain and used her divine sense to inform the visitors from outside the island to enter. She then descended from the clouds to Mo Mo's side. Looking at Mo Mo, who was sleeping soundly in the hammock, Guanyin's expression changed. She stretched out her fair hand, picked up a jade-white willow branch, and waved it at Mo Mo. Instantly, a light rain began to fall around Mo Mo, soaking him completely during his afternoon nap.

"Damn, it's raining! Hurry back and bring in the laundry." Mo Mo was startled awake the moment he was drenched in rain. He had almost completely focused his mind, and although he was still on guard, he had completely emptied his mind. Finally, he fell asleep and had a dream. In the dream, after he resigned, he didn't have any extraordinary encounters or the ability to travel through the myriad worlds. He was just an ordinary college graduate, and an unemployed one at that.

In his dream, he resigned and returned home. He used the money he had earned from working to open a small online store, selling local specialties from his hometown. Perhaps it was a stroke of luck, but his store did quite well, earning him five or six thousand yuan a month.

After a year, encouraged by his classmates, he started becoming a live streamer. He would go up the mountain to pick wild fruits and go fishing. Although he wasn't very popular, he had a small group of fans and earned two or three thousand yuan a month. Most importantly, he found his true love through the live streaming platform. After dating online for a while, the two met in person. They chatted for a while and found that they were very compatible with each other. They quickly became familiar with each other. When they returned to Mo Mo's home, they were like any ordinary couple in love.

Time flew by, and it was soon noon. Suddenly, he remembered that he hadn't done his live stream yet. After he told her, she offered to go up the mountain with him. So, after making some preparations, the two headed straight for the mountain. However, just as they arrived at the mountain to pick wild fruits, the clear sky suddenly turned into a downpour. He inexplicably shouted, "Damn it, it's raining! Let's go back and bring in the laundry!"

Then, he saw Guanyin looking at him with a surprised expression, which made him blush. "This is so embarrassing! I can't face anyone now. Luckily, it was only Guanyin who saw me, otherwise I wouldn't be able to live. But looking closely, how come my girlfriend in my dream looks so much like Guanyin!"

To ease the awkwardness, Mo Mo sat up from the hammock and said with a smile, "The weather is really nice today, perfect for flower viewing. I wonder if I would have the honor of enjoying this picturesque scenery with Guanyin Bodhisattva?"

"Fellow Daoist Wangchen, today is not suitable for flower viewing, but rather for meeting friends. Our guests will be arriving soon, so perhaps you should make some preparations?" Guanyin did not intend to continue teasing Mo Mo, and since she was partly responsible for what had happened, she took advantage of Mo Mo's words to give him a way out and ease his embarrassment.

Mo Mo wiped the rain from his face and looked at Guanyin with a smile, saying, "It's time to tidy up." Then, with a slight movement of his inner power, the Three Lights Divine Water that Guanyin had sprinkled on Mo Mo was shaken into droplets of mist. With a gentle wave of his hand, he quickly dispersed these droplets throughout the peach grove, where they were absorbed by the peach trees. After absorbing this divine water, the entire peach grove became even more vibrant, and some peach trees even began to show hints of tender green—those were tiny immortal peaches.

Guanyin had cultivated for many years, so how could she be disturbed by Mo Mo's petty tricks? She remained as holy and compassionate as ever, and Mo Mo didn't intend to make Guanyin feel guilty or blush with shame. So, seeing that Guanyin was unmoved, he waved his right hand, and a stone table and four stone stools quietly appeared in front of them. After the stone table appeared, Mo Mo snapped his fingers, and a complete tea set plus a small jar of tea exuding a strong immortal aura appeared on the stone table.

"Please!" Mo Mo gestured with his right hand towards the stone table, inviting Guanyin to sit down. Guanyin did not stand on ceremony and nodded, then gracefully moved to the stone table. After seeing that Guanyin was seated, Mo Mo sat opposite her and began to busy himself, lighting a fire to boil water, washing the tea set, and then brewing tea. The whole set of movements was smooth and natural. In Guanyin's eyes, Mo Mo's movements were full of the charm of the Tao, and every movement was in harmony with the Great Tao. As the faint aroma of tea wafted out, crisp footsteps came from the path in the peach grove.

Chapter 449 Visitors from Heaven

The peach blossoms were in full bloom, turning the entire hillside red. In this peach grove, amidst the falling petals, a faint path led through the woods. This path, paved with cobblestones and only a meter wide, ran through the entire grove. At this moment, a handsome man in a white robe with striking eyebrows and bright eyes, yet with a languid demeanor, was walking side by side with a stunningly beautiful woman in a purple dress, exuding an ethereal aura. Bathed in the red peach petals, the two looked like a pair of celestial lovers.

"How beautiful this place is, Layman! No wonder the immortals like to come here. It's truly enviable. It's a pity that Xiao Qi, as a female official of the Heavenly Court, can't move around freely, otherwise she would definitely come to play here often." The fairy who called herself Xiao Qi looked at the peach grove with its falling petals, her words full of envy.

"Don't be envious. Maybe you can live here permanently in the future. If you really do live here permanently, don't forget me! Wangchen may be a bit stingy, but there's no denying that his Peach Blossom Wine is absolutely amazing, comparable to the Queen Mother's finest nectar. It's a pity that he's so stingy; he can only drink a small jar each time he comes." The handsome man smacked his lips after speaking, as if savoring the unforgettable taste.

"How could that be? Xiao Qi is a female official in Heaven. She has to maintain the peaches in the Peach Garden every day. She can't leave Heaven unless there's a reason. How could she possibly live here permanently? You're joking, Immortal." Xiao Qi's eyes were somewhat dim. Although she was the seventh daughter of the Jade Emperor and had a noble status, it was precisely because of this status that she could not easily leave Heaven. She couldn't even move around freely within Heaven. As the daughter of the Jade Emperor, she represented his face. As the daughter of the ruler of the Three Realms, her every move would be watched by other immortals and gods. If she was not careful, she would be impeached by other immortals and gods, not to mention descending to the mortal world. Therefore, she and her sisters could be said to have almost no freedom.

The male immortal beside her smiled slightly after hearing her words, but he clearly knew something. However, he may have received some instructions beforehand and did not say it. Xiao Qi did not continue the topic. After changing the subject, the two continued to chat and laugh as they walked along the path.

After turning past a peach tree, the path suddenly came to an end, and the view opened up before you. The first thing you saw was an exquisite purple bamboo house. In front of the house, several lush green vegetable plots were planted, and next to the vegetable plots was a well, simply lined with blue stones. Beside the house was a pond about ten meters in diameter, its water crystal clear. Fist-sized, translucent lobsters and various fish the size of a palm's tail swam around constantly. Every now and then, peach petals would fall into the water with their heads. In one corner of the pond, lotus flowers, some white and some pink, were quietly blooming.

Just as Xiaoqi was captivated by the novel and picturesque scenery before her, the handsome male immortal beside her suddenly veered away from the bamboo house and walked to the side. As he did so, he coughed softly, pulling her back to reality. When she looked in the direction the male immortal had gone, she saw a man and a woman sitting at a stone table under the peach tree, smiling at them. Weren't these the Peach Blossom Hermit and Guanyin Bodhisattva she was looking for? So she quickly followed the male immortal's footsteps.

"The Eight Immortals of Shangdong, Lü Dongbin, pays homage to Guanyin Bodhisattva."
