Глава 23

Yi Zhengwei shook his finger and smiled, "Miss Song, there's no rush. There are plenty of opportunities in the business world."

"I've always remembered that kindness from Mr. Yi." Song Qing said this, but if he really asked to cooperate on this new project, she would be in a difficult position.

Yi Zhengwei had been paying close attention to everything at Fuhua, so how could he not know what Song Qing was thinking at this moment? The two simply understood each other without saying a word.

However, this favor must eventually be repaid.

"Miss Song, have you made a decision yet?"

Song Qing shook her head, her eyes darting around as she recalled Yan Xunan's words.

Yi Zhengwei was very shrewd and did not ask any further questions.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Song Qing quickly took it out and looked at it. Her face turned pale. She took a deep breath before answering, "Wang Ma, what is it?"

"Miss, something terrible has happened! Come back quickly! Master has fainted!" Wang Ma had been instructed to notify her immediately if her father showed any unusual behavior.

"Where's Mom?" She had already stood up, feeling a sudden dizziness. Seeing her condition, Yi Zhengwei knew something important had happened and quickly went across the table to help her. She was stunned, her big eyes were already wet, but she still nodded to express her apology.

"Madam has gone out. It seems she went to see her future mother-in-law because of the Second Miss's matter," Wang Ma said hurriedly.

"Wang Ma, don't worry, call the driver to take Dad to the First Hospital right away, I'll be there immediately," she calmly instructed. Yi Zhengwei had already called the waiter to settle the bill, and the two hurriedly left the bamboo garden.

Her body was trembling slightly, as if she were facing immense fear, and her steps were unsteady. Yi Zhengwei quickly opened the door, helped her to the passenger seat, and then drove towards Linchuan. From what she said, she wanted to go to the First Hospital.

Song Qing stared blankly as the scenery flashed by under the night sky. Suddenly remembering something, she immediately dialed another number. "Uncle Xu, it's me, Xiao Qing."

"Yes, Dad fainted and is being taken to the hospital now. Are you there?"

"Yes, I'm on my way. Please, you must save him." Her voice trembled with fear. She thought that knowing her father's condition would calm her down, but that wasn't the case at all. This kind of fear, only when it's imminent, reveals how much you care and how uncontrollable it truly is.

Yi Zhengwei focused on driving; there was no point in saying anything at this point. He could only get to the hospital as quickly as possible.

Song Qing had already turned around, facing the window, her body pressed tightly against the car window, her hair draped over her shoulders, completely covering her face, silent and still, but he knew that she had already been crying uncontrollably.

It took them half an hour to get to the hospital. Song Qing smiled gratefully at him, opened the car door, and ran into the hospital, but she stumbled and fell after taking only one step. Yi Zhengwei shook his head, locked the car door, and helped her inside.

Outside the operating room on the second floor, Song Qing lay hunched over, knees pressed together, motionless. "Dad, please don't let anything happen to you. I'll never disobey you again. How could I have run away like this for ten years? Is God punishing my selfishness?" she cried silently in her heart.

Yi Zhengwei stood by the window, smoking. He should have left, but logically speaking, given the situation of a young woman in this predicament, with no one else around, he should at least stay with her until the operating room lights went out.

With a "thump," the operating room door was suddenly opened, and Song Qing hurriedly got up and rushed over.

"Uncle Xu, how is Dad?!"

Xu Heng wearily took off his mask, patted Song Qing on the shoulder, and said, "I've done my best, but we're still in danger. We need to observe her overnight." As he spoke, he waved for the nurse to push Song Jingmo to the intensive care unit.

"No! Dad!" Song Qing clung tightly to the hospital bed, her slender wrists bearing faint blue marks from the excessive force. Yi Zhengwei, unable to bear it any longer, stepped closer to pull her away.

"No! Dad, wake up! I'll do whatever you say, I'll never leave again, please wake up..." She was on the verge of collapse. During the surgery, she had been constantly blaming herself, and now, hearing that her father was still in critical condition, she couldn't forgive herself even more, struggling desperately in Yi Zhengwei's arms. Unable to reach the bed, she could only watch her father walk further and further away. Like a raging, imprisoned lion, unable to escape, she kept ramming against the bed, resisting everything by harming her body.

Seeing her devastated expression, Yi Zhengwei frowned and held her tightly. He had never seen any woman so grief-stricken, as if everything was about to disappear, as if the end of the world was coming.

All he could do was control her hands and feet, preventing her from hurting herself or blaming herself.

She only murmured one sentence, "Dad, I will never run away again, I will listen to you..." Her expression was blank.

Song Ning and Yan Xunan also rushed over and immediately saw the two of them embracing each other in an extremely ambiguous manner. Yi Zhengwei shoved them on the shoulder to show his helplessness.

Song Ning stopped in her tracks. Yan Xunan's eyes narrowed, and he rushed forward, shoving away Yi Zhengwei, who was protecting Song Qing's limbs.

"Xunan..." Song Qing was held in Yan Xunan's arms like a mother hen, and he kept comforting her in soft voices. She had recovered somewhat, but her eyes were misty and fragile. It made his heart ache.

"It's alright, Qing'er, it's alright." As if it were a natural and familiar gesture, he held Song Qing in his arms with such ease and familiarity, just like Adam and Eve at the beginning of the world, with no one else besides them.

Yi Zhengwei turned his head to look at Song Ning, a smile appearing on his lips. This woman was not as lively and cute as she appeared. It seemed that the drama involving the Song family would have even more twists and turns.

He didn't leave, just leaned against the wall. The whole thing had left him exhausted.

Song Ning had no mind to care about Yi Zhengwei anymore. Her eyes were fixed on the two who were still embracing each other. Her heart was like a volcano, and it was impossible for her to force a smile at this moment.

Song Ning's eyes darkened, and the evil within her seemed to be ignited, a furious flame rising in her eyes. Yi Zhengwei clicked his tongue and sighed softly. A woman who had attempted suicide was indeed different.

He wondered if the seemingly capable and strong Song Qing could handle the situation. His smiling, spectator-like gaze held a hint of worry.

That's for sure. If they were to cooperate, he would naturally prefer Song Qing. In business, rationality comes first; there's no need for a lose-lose situation. But clearly, this Song Ning is definitely that kind of person!

His phone vibrated. He took it out and saw it was Shen Xing. His eyes softened instantly. Seeing this scene, the simple and innocent Shen Xing seemed even more adorable and endearing.

"Yes, Xing'er, it's over."

"It's alright, nothing serious. Where are you? I'll come find you." He said, already leaving the hospital.

Regardless of the raging storm that followed.

Chapter Seventeen: No Way Back

"Fuhua has invested nearly ten years of research and nearly 800 million yuan in this project. I believe that with Fuhua's hard work, sincerity, and innovative spirit over the years, this project will surely be a success and open a new chapter in the power industry!"

-Song Qing

The two sisters stayed up all night together, and even when the doctor came to visit, they were still in a daze.

Xu Heng clearly hadn't slept well all night. He kept checking the instruments, turning his eyelids, and listening to his heartbeat. After a flurry of activity, he finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned to them, saying, "Thank goodness, everything's alright now."

Song Qing nodded, but before her smile could fade, she slumped softly into the chair.
