"Hmph, kill one if one comes, kill two if two come," Wu Liuyin said calmly, yet she exuded a powerful chill that sent shivers down everyone's spines! Wu Liuyin frowned, thinking that the force behind the Empty Gate was using the Empty Gate Token to kill her and prevent her from going to the Trial Valley. There must be a secret behind it. It seemed that Liehuo was right; her parents' disappearance was indeed related to the Trial Valley. The person who killed her parents was still lurking behind the scenes, preventing her from going. Was everything really not that simple?

She's determined to go to the Trial Valley! No matter who tries to stop her!

"Alright, Huang Ying, take good care of Zhi Heng. We'll hurry on our way once Lie Huo returns," Wu Liuyin said, then looked up at the pavilion.

"You four, show yourselves."

No sooner had she finished speaking than the figures of Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning appeared before Wu Liuyin.

The four members of Fengyu Leidian couldn't help but admire each other. Every time they were discovered by Wu Liuyin, were their breath-holding skills really that weak? No, they were very strong, but unfortunately they met an even stronger Wu Liuyin!

"Your master sent you to protect me or monitor me, it's all fine. From now on, be open about it, no need to hide behind the scenes anymore," Wu Liuyin said. She originally didn't want to deal with the four of them, but now she needed them. She didn't know how powerful Huang Ying was, and Xia Zhiheng was injured and crippled, so he was inevitably a burden. Although she and Liehuo's power was no less than that of the top purple level, accidents could still happen, after all, the people of the Kongmen were not benevolent.

Everything must be done in advance, and we must be prepared to face the attack from the gang that is hunting her down—Kongmen!

"Yes, your four subordinates acted solely on the orders of the Third Imperial Consort." Without hesitation or doubt, the four knelt on one knee, their excitement barely concealed. In their entire lives, they had only ever submitted to Su Xijue, no one else. It wasn't because of a master-servant relationship, but because of their master's sincerity and generosity. Now, the four of them had accepted another person in their hearts, and that was Wu Liuyin. They had spent a considerable amount of time with her these past few days, and Wu Liuyin's actions and powerful cultivation had impressed them greatly, earning their heartfelt respect.

"Get up. From now on, we're partners. Don't kneel down so easily. A man's knees are worth gold, you know? Don't create too much gold," Wu Liuyin said calmly, raising her arm.

This caused everyone present to burst into laughter. Amidst the laughter, Feng Yu Lei Dian looked at Wu Liu Yin with even more determination, winning her heart with the word "partner."

Mai Ryune can tell jokes now!!!

Liehuo returned to the restaurant, glanced at Wu Liuyin, and shook his head.

Wu Liuyin nodded, and the group hurriedly set off, as this place was not a safe place to stay!

☆、065 Ghost Forest

Finally, Liehuo didn't have to drive the carriage anymore. Feng drove the carriage, while Yu Leidian rode horses to protect it. Huang Ying felt stuffy and went out to ride with Yu Leidian. She had to get along well with everyone.

Wu Liuyin kept a watchful eye on the roadside scenery.

"Where is that?" Wu Liuyin asked Xia Zhiheng, who was standing nearby, pointing to a large forest.

Xia Zhiheng and Liehuo both looked in the direction Wu Liuyin was pointing.

"It's a vast, ancient primeval forest, its area comparable to half the territory of Shanghai, yet no one dares to approach it and claim it for themselves. The locals call it the Ghost Forest because it's incredibly eerie; people only see people enter but never leave. They either get lost in the forest or are eaten by wild beasts. Also, at midnight, eerie screams echo from the forest, and even under the blazing sun, the forest still presents a sinister scene, making people afraid to approach," Xia Zhiheng explained.

What's on the other side of the forest?

"It's the Trial Valley, but no one can pass through this forest. Many experts from across the continent tried to traverse this forest to reach the Trial Valley, but unfortunately, none of them ever returned."

As Xia Zhiheng spoke, his eyes lowered slightly, a hint of pain flashing across them.

"Let's change course and go through the forest. Can you handle it?" Wu Liuyin suddenly had an idea. The most dangerous place is the safest place. It's not advisable to make a move now. She turned to Xia Zhiheng and asked.

“Yes, but the forest is very dangerous…” Xia Zhiheng raised his eyes and said with some concern, his gaze towards Wu Liuyin also showing a hint of disbelief.

"Liuyin, don't act recklessly," Liehuo suddenly reminded him, looking at the forest with a certain emotion in his eyes.

"That's fine then. Wind, change direction and head towards that forest. We'll cut through the forest to the Trial Valley." Wu Liuyin's words stunned everyone, except for Liehuo!

However, after their initial shock, everyone regained their composure. Since Wu Liuyin had spoken, they decided to change course.

The group of people headed straight for the forest!

The Ghost Forest is located at the border of the Demon City and the Mortal City, and is connected to the Trial Valley to the north. Due to its extremely special geographical location, the trees in the forest are all towering trees with hundreds of years of history, which block out all the light in the entire forest, making the temperature in the forest cold and the wind blowing. All the plants in the forest are plants that can withstand the cold, and there are even some that are unknown to the world. Wild beasts are everywhere.

Because of the danger and harsh environment of the Ghost Forest, Wu Liuyin thought that those people from the Buddhist sects would no longer be able to break in and hunt them down, unless they were fearless.

Moreover, the forest's unique geographical location meant that if they were truly powerless to fight back, they could immediately find a place to hide. It just meant their journey would be arduous. In fact, Wu Liuyin had prior experience trekking through primeval forests. Back in the beast camp, a plane once abandoned their entire squad of ten in the Devil City of Tibet. Later, some of them lost their way and unknowingly walked out of the Devil City and into a vast desert continent—an ancient primeval forest. It was teeming with venomous snakes, insects, and miasma.

Later, they encountered a crested snake that could mimic human speech, which almost wiped out the entire class. In just one day, only three out of ten people survived. Wu Liuyin and two other comrades survived by falling into a mud pit.

It turned out that the snakes couldn't see the people because they were covered in mud. Their eyesight was already poor, relying entirely on hearing. A bite from such a venomous snake was instantly fatal; they would even travel in packs to carry the carcasses, feeding on animals in groups. Later, protected by the mud, the three women took care of each other and survived eleven days in that primeval forest without weapons, water, or even just two bags of compressed biscuits. Eleven days later, the team sent people to find them…

Inside the Trial Valley, Su Xijue lay battered and bruised, his stubble covering his chin and his hair disheveled. His face was splattered with green blood as he looked at the countless fallen orcs.

He licked his lips with a bloodthirsty glint and stepped into the final checkpoint.

The trees are lush and green, and the misty smoke hangs in the air. Deep within the smoke, there seems to be a graceful and beautiful figure, dancing with a sword. Her embroidered clothes are as white as snow, and the cold mist around her is as light as a veil. Suddenly, she turns her head and looks back, her faint smile revealing endless melancholy.

Su Xijue suddenly saw the woman's face clearly and couldn't help but call out softly, "Liuyin..."

In the illusion, Wu Liuyin smiled gently and slowly walked towards Su Xijue.

'Wu Liuyin' called out affectionately, "west Jue"

Su Xijue dropped his sword, rushed forward, hugged Wu Liuyin, and spun her around, laughing loudly, "Liuyin, it really is you! That's wonderful! Do you know how much I've missed you? I've only just realized these past few days that you've stolen my whole heart. It's so good to see you here!"

'Wu Liuyin' was held in Su Xijue's arms, laughing merrily, her silvery laughter filling the entire illusion.

Su Xijue put her down and held her tightly, as if afraid that the person in his arms would disappear in the blink of an eye. He looked at the person in his arms with tender eyes.

Her skin was very white and delicate, her smooth and fair face no longer covered in freckles, revealing a sharp and handsome face. Her nose was straight with a beautiful curve, and her dark hair was soft and shiny, shimmering with a dazzling luster. Her eyes were as clear as sapphires submerged in water, yet the corners of her eyes were slightly upturned, giving her a charming look. Her blue pupils and alluring eye shape blended wonderfully into an extremely beautiful style. Her thin lips were as pale as water, making him unable to resist wanting to kiss them.

"This servant misses you too... Die, Su Xijue!" Suddenly, the person in her arms spoke, her expression changed, and she struck Su Xijue in the chest with a palm.

After retreating a hundred meters, Su Xijue stopped behind him and coughed up a mouthful of blood with a "poof".

"Liuyin, what's wrong?" Su Xijue asked gently, looking at Wu Liuyin who seemed a little off.

"Hmph, I'll take your life!" With a ferocious expression, 'Wu Liuyin' coldly finished speaking and flew forward, her entire body radiating black spiritual energy, her aura appearing extremely imposing...

Su Xijue's face darkened as he realized he had been tricked. The person before him was not Wu Liuyin, but an illusion. The black spiritual energy was unique to the demonic beast race and had no distinction between superior and inferior. He immediately raised his empty fist, let out a long roar, and charged forward.

The illusion is incredibly fast, as sharp as a blade, leaving a trail of afterimages with each attack, each move deadly.

Su Xijue's face was dark as he sensed the fluctuations in the air. The illusory dance of Liuyin flashed by, each movement carrying a potentially deadly aura. The black spiritual energy scratched at Su Xijue like claws.

Suddenly, a figure flashed in Su Xijue's eyes. He turned abruptly and struck out with a palm, colliding head-on with the illusion of Wu Liuyin. Powerful spiritual energies clashed, a gust of cold wind blew, carrying a withered leaf. The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat eerie. Facing the illusion of Wu Liuyin, Su Xijue suddenly closed his eyes, grabbed her with one hand, and unleashed three palm strikes in quick succession. The force of the palm strikes slashed across her originally beautiful face.

With a final strike, the man being struck was sent flying a hundred meters away, crashing to the ground with blood gushing out.

Su Xijue slowly walked forward, looking down at the person on the ground with a knowing look.

"west Jue, I'm in pain!" Suddenly, the person on the ground frowned, blood trickling from the corner of their mouth—red blood...

A soft murmur instantly reminded Su Xijue of that duel, of Wu Liuyin's unconscious state after being struck by a palm, and his heart sank. The blood was red, not the distinctive green of the orcs. Had he truly hurt the one he longed for day and night?

"Liuyin, what's wrong? Liuyin, don't scare me!" Su Xijue immediately changed his demeanor, bending down to hug the dying 'Wu Liuyin' and asking with a face full of heartache.

"Xijue, hold me tight, I'm cold," the person in his arms said, shivering.

Su Xijue unconsciously hugged her tighter, when suddenly a hand pierced through her chest, staining her clothes with blood.

☆、068 Implementation

"Hahaha, Su Xijue, your biggest weakness is this, it's Wu Liuyin, hahaha, you're dead, you're dead!" The man on the ground said with a ferocious laugh, pulling out his blood-stained hand and standing up.

Su Xijue knelt down and lay prostrate on the ground, his blood instantly soaking the ground.

Slowly, everything around disappeared, returning to its usual eerie state; there were no green trees, no wisps of smoke rising from chimneys...

'Mai Ryune' also returned to her original appearance, with yellow and swollen skin, a cracked mouth, and no eyebrow on her left eye, which was crooked into a thin slit with no white in her eye; although her right cheek still had an eyebrow and eye, it had a huge abscess that had not yet healed, and her back was hunched, her knees were bent and could not be straightened, as if she had rickets. In short, her appearance was so bad that no one would want to look at her a second time.
