Kapitel 28

This liquid is called Soul Liquid. It is extracted from human souls and is part of the origin of the world. The number of souls in each world will only increase slowly. If there is no increase, everyone will enter the reincarnation millstone formed by the world consciousness after death, be ground into pure soul fragments, and then reassembled into another soul, and then arranged to be reincarnated.

Lower worlds lack a complete cycle of reincarnation, so they can only maintain order through this method. Therefore, every soul contains the origin of the world. Although the amount of origin contained within a soul is small, if the quantity is large enough, it can still be extracted to strengthen the Rubik's Cube.

The effects of the Soul Liquid are not limited to these; it can also strengthen the human soul. Xu Le used his mind to absorb a small piece of the Soul Liquid and let it consume his own soul. He could clearly feel the joy in his soul, as if a fish that had been exposed to the scorching sun for a long time had returned to the water. That joy and freedom intoxicated him.

After a few seconds, the feeling of pleasure faded, leaving Xu Le feeling somewhat lost. However, his good mental fortitude quickly helped him recover. He checked his mental energy and found that even a fraction of it had strengthened it by 10%.

Kill them all! Killing them will make you stronger!

It was as if the devil was whispering in his ear, constantly tempting Xu Le to kill everyone and extract the soul liquid.

Xu Le's eyes turned bloodshot, and flames began to dance uncontrollably around his body, clawing and snarling as if trying to burn everyone to ashes.

"Don't even think about it!" Xu Le roared inwardly, forcibly suppressing the thought. Although he wasn't a good person, he wouldn't use innocent people to refine medicine.

"It seems that the rapid increase in power has triggered inner demons." Xu Le sighed inwardly. After all, it had only been half a year since he went from an ordinary person to gaining great power. He shouldn't have developed inner demons so early. However, the appearance of the Soul Liquid became a fuse, detonating this time bomb prematurely.

Fortunately, it was discovered early; otherwise, if we had become powerful and the inner demons had taken root, it would have been much more troublesome to deal with them later.

"I need to find a world to temper my heart." Xu Le made the decision and at the same time gave the order to the Shadow Legion: leave no one alive except Wutugu.

After all, the souls of these people could be used to refine soul liquid, and he wasn't some pedantic person. Since soul liquid could help him improve his strength, he wouldn't give up this function.

He never minded or felt any psychological burden about nourishing himself with the flesh and soul of his enemies.

Because once you become his enemy, you must be prepared to endure his torment.

Chapter Thirty-Six: Reduced to Livestock

Wutugu cleaved the shadow warrior in two again with a single slash, leaving him only able to watch helplessly as the shadow transformed into a black shadow and then reappeared.

Wutugu was momentarily distracted when a short knife pierced his ribs, then pulled out, dripping blood and flesh onto the ground where it was absorbed by the weeds. Seeing Wutugu injured, the other shadow warriors all rushed over.

"Watch out!" The cavalryman beside him saw a shadow warrior appear behind Wutugu, wielding a long sword stained with the blood of his comrades. This time, however, his target was Wutugu's head.

The cavalryman shoved Wutugu aside, taking the blow for him. The blade sliced through his skin, tearing flesh and opening his throat, blood gushing out.

"Run! Don't worry about us!" The cavalryman fell to the ground, his hand trembling as he reached out, as if trying to grasp something. But the light in his eyes faded, turning into a deathly gray. His hand fell limply to the ground, forever sleeping on this battlefield.

Wutugu was pushed aside and couldn't react for a moment, but when he saw clearly, his eyes widened and he looked like a demon with disheveled hair. He roared, "Chai Dagu, why did you die in my place?"

Looking at his friend who had completely left him, Wutugu raised his head, trying his best not to let his tears fall. He was the spirit of the tribe. Anyone else could cry, but he couldn't.

Watching his childhood friend die in front of him, having been killed while shielding him from a knife, was a heavy blow to Wutugu. He regretted attacking the town.

But it was all too late. Time cannot be turned back, and there is no medicine for regret.

Overwhelmed with grief, Wutugu burst into laughter, a maniacal laugh. The shadow warriors surrounded him, but did not immediately launch an attack.

The shadow warriors exchanged glances, then one of them took out a hemp rope about the thickness of a child's wrist, quickly made a lasso, tossed it into the air, and directly looped it around Wutugu's head. At the same time, he suddenly exerted force, and the lasso tightened, tightly strangling Wutugu's neck. His face began to turn blue, and a red ligature mark appeared around his neck. Because of the excessive force, the skin had been rubbed raw and began to bleed.

Because his throat was being strangled, Wutugu desperately tried to pull the rope away with both hands. His breathing became rapid, and his chest was heaving like a bellows, making a whooshing sound. His eyes bulged outward due to bloodshot eyes, making his face extremely terrifying.

The shadow warrior paid no heed to any of this, dragging his body across the ground, kicking up dust. Sharp pebbles cut his skin in the intense friction, and tiny stone fragments entered his body.

Under these circumstances, Wutugu not only did not beg for mercy, but also laughed. However, because his throat was being strangled, the sound he made was like a toad croaking.

His bloodshot eyes rolled, and blood slowly flowed from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, leaving a trail of blood. He struggled with all his might, barely managing to move.

He uttered a few words: "You evil Taoist, you will die a horrible death!"

Looking at Wutugu, who was ambitious and refused to surrender even in this situation, Xu Le couldn't help but feel admiration for him, even though he was a grassland person.

But emotions aside, Wutugu's hard bones were beneath his dignity. Besides, he definitely couldn't let this guy go, even if he was just a mortal. This lone wolf from the grasslands might have some kind of adventure that would cause him trouble.

After all, there are also wondrous things from higher realms in this world, and fate is unpredictable; no one can be certain of anything.

Xu Le frowned deeply, then thought of a good idea. He sneered and waved to the shadow warriors, signaling them to bring Wutugu over.

The group behind him could only see Xu Le's back. Watching Wutugu's cavalrymen being killed one by one, they felt even more awe and dared not make a sound, for fear of disturbing the immortal. The few who had doubted the immortal earlier were even more nervous, with cold sweat dripping down their faces, for fear of being punished by the immortal.

The shadow warriors made their move, beheading the last few cavalrymen. Then they gathered around Wutugu, who was being dragged on the ground. Several of the shadow warriors stepped forward and, while Wutugu was struggling, tied his limbs. Then they carried him by ropes to Xu Le.

vomit!

Wutugu felt the world turning upside down, and couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of black blood. His throat burned with pain, and he gasped for fresh air.

Then, Wutugu raised his head and looked at Xu Le, who was sitting cross-legged on the white tiger's head and looked extremely radiant and sacred under the direct sunlight, and let out a "giggle" laugh.

“Wutugu, I will let you go if you kneel here and repent for a day and a night.” Xu Le’s eyes were like torches, shining with endless brilliance.

"You're dreaming! Even if I, Wutugu, die, I will never surrender to a demon like you. You will surely die a horrible death. Kill me now, and my brothers and I will report your crimes to the Eternal Heaven. We'll be waiting for you down there." Wutugu spat, his disheveled hair a far cry from his previous arrogance.

The grassland people do not revere any single deity; instead, they worship the unity of heaven, earth, and all things in nature—the Eternal Heaven.

In his view, this evil Taoist priest was recklessly using divine arts, defiling the rest of the dead, and summoning an immortal and indestructible shadow army. He would surely be punished by heaven.

“Ignorance and weakness are the greatest original sins.” Xu Le laughed loudly, completely unconcerned about the Eternal Heaven mentioned by Wutugu. Even if such a “heaven” truly existed to punish him, he would overturn it.

"Since you are so stubborn, then I will demote you to a beast." Xu Le's tone was indifferent, as if he were a god who had long resided in the heavens, judging the mortal world.

The Rubik's Cube began to spin, and a beam of purple light shot out from Xu Le's eyes, enveloping Wu Tu Gu, who was kneeling on the ground.

Wutugu looked at the Taoist in front of him, his eyes flashing with purple light as he faced death calmly.

But after a long time, he didn't have any headache. When he opened his eyes, he found that the shadowy warriors standing next to him had become very tall, and he could only see their feet.
