Kapitel 59

He is becoming increasingly unfamiliar with his mother, but his longing for her has not lessened at all; in fact, it has grown stronger.

Although his childhood memories have faded somewhat, whenever he recalls the scene of his family playing hand in hand on this bridge, his heart sinks heavily, until it no longer beats for the word "mother".

These things and grievances are like wounds that have scabbed over over time. Although they have healed, they still itch, and he can't help but scratch them. Even if it hurts, he has to endure it. But if he peels off the thick scab, bright red blood will still flow out.

Shen Moyu didn't know what to say. He never expected that this man, who was always either laughing and joking or aloof to the point of being a mood monster, would have such a sad background.

He bit his lip and tried to reach out and put his arm around his shoulder.

Before his hand could even land, his wrist was grabbed by someone. He stared at Su Jinning's misty eyes, somewhat bewildered.

When Su Jinning cries, the starlight in her eyes dims, and tears glisten in the darkness.

He gripped Shen Moyu's wrist tightly, his chest rising and falling gently, as if he were suppressing his emotions.

"Top student, I've had too much to drink..." He stared into Shen Moyu's eyes, his voice hoarse.

"I know." Shen Moyu looked at him very seriously.

“I miss her a little…” He paused, gripping Shen Moyu’s wrist tighter. The boy who usually acted like a big brother had now let down his guard and said to the person in front of him with a wronged expression, “I’m cold.”

Su Jinning's tone, which sounded like a suggestion, completely shattered Shen Moyu's last line of defense.

Shen Moyu knew that he just wanted a hug.

He reached out and hugged the person who was half a head taller than him, but at that moment looked like a wronged little child.

I gently stroked his back, as if to tell him that everything would be alright and that everything would have a good ending.

The silvery moonlight spilled onto the river, the night air thick and rich, weaving a soft net that gently enveloped the two of them. The city's hustle and bustle continued, but by the bridge, they could only hear the murmuring of the flowing water, crisp, melodious, gentle, and comforting.

Su Jin listened quietly to Shen Moyu's heartbeat, burying her head low and holding his slender waist. The heat between them instantly spread.

"It's late, come to my place to rest." Shen Moyu said suggestively, lifting a strand of Su Jinning's sweaty hair.

Shen Moyu: Of course I have to comfort my boyfriend when he's sad.

Chapter 23 A Boyfriend Made Out of Nothing

Su Jinning released Shen Moyu, but did not loosen her grip on his wrist.

Perhaps because he was drunk, he didn't find Shen Moyu's words strange. He just stared at him blankly and nodded.

It was already 11:30 when I got home, and Xia Wei was already in bed resting. The house was completely dark.

Su Jinning changed into slippers and carefully looked around the room.

The house wasn't big; it was quite small for Su Jinning.

However, the design is quite good, it looks cozy and warm, and it's very suitable for a family of three.

He took a couple of steps and suddenly realized that the layout of the house was very similar to the one he lived in with his parents when he was a child.

He has a bad habit of reminiscing about the past when he drinks.

A sudden throbbing pain shot through her head, blurring her vision. Su Jinning grabbed the refrigerator to keep from falling.

"How are you? Are you alright?" Shen Moyu heard the noise and rushed over to help him up.

"Hmm..." Su Jinning answered weakly, and was helped into the room by Shen Moyu.

“If we let you ride your motorcycle home alone, who knows what might happen.” Shen Moyu took off his coat and looked for Su Jinning’s pajamas as he spoke.

"Yes, thank you for taking me in..." Su Jinning leaned against the headboard, pinching the bridge of her nose to regain consciousness. Despite feeling extremely uncomfortable, she didn't forget to tease others.

"Mo Yu?" Xia Wei's voice came from outside the door, and the two of them looked towards the doorway together.

"Mom? Why are you awake?" Shen Moyu quickly closed the wardrobe and opened the door.

Su Jinning groggily opened her eyes to see what was happening, and when she saw Xia Wei sitting in a wheelchair, her eyes widened in surprise.

He seemed to suddenly understand why Shen Moyu worked part-time while studying.

Su Jinning blinked twice, staring blankly at the mother and son.

"He drank too much and came to stay at our house for the night." While Su Jinning was in a daze, Shen Moyu had already explained what had happened to Xia Wei.

The next second, Xia Wei wheeled herself into the house, and Su Jinning, seeing this, snapped out of his daze and stared intently at the woman in her forties. Although she looked somewhat aged, it was still easy to see that she had been a beauty in her youth. He suddenly realized that Shen Moyu did indeed resemble his mother, with big eyes, a high nose, and a delicate, gentle appearance.

Su Jinning looked at Xia Wei and forced a smile as she greeted her, "Hello, Auntie."

"Hello, hello." Xia Wei smiled warmly as she looked Su Jinning up and down, as if she were very welcoming of his arrival. She then asked, "I heard from Mo Yu that you drank quite a bit. How are you? Does your head hurt?"

"Ah..." Su Jinning didn't expect Shen Moyu to say these things to Xia Wei. She looked at Shen Moyu and then at Xia Wei, her mind a little blank, and she didn't know what to say.

"If your head still hurts, Auntie will make you a cup of honey water. Drinking it will make you feel much better." With that, she began to wheel herself towards the kitchen.

"Ah! Auntie!" Su Jinning hurriedly stopped Xia Wei, shook her head and smiled, "Don't bother, I'm much better."

Shen Moyu glanced at the two of them, then turned and went to the kitchen.

Xia Wei didn't persist. She pulled the blanket up around herself and asked with a kind expression, "You're Mo Yu's friend, right? What's your name?"

"Yes, Auntie. My name is Su Jinning." Su Jinning was a little sober, and when she glanced at Shen Moyu in the kitchen, she answered Xia Wei's question without hesitation.

"Xiao Ning," Xia Wei called out affectionately, smiling, "That's so nice." She suddenly sighed, "Mo Yu has very few friends. He's aloof and has quite a temper. You're able to be friends with him, you must have been very tolerant of him."

Su Jinning scratched her head and looked at Xia Wei embarrassedly.

Actually... neither of them is any better than the other; they both have equally volatile tempers. But the strange thing is that they always manage to make up without anyone noticing when they argue.

“No, Auntie is a very nice person, and we are all very understanding of each other.” Su Jinning smiled shyly.

Xia Wei smoothed Su Jinning's messy bangs and looked at him like he was her own son: "That's good."

Su Jinning was taken aback by her actions.

When he looked up and met Xia Wei's smiling eyes, he seemed to see, in a daze, the mother he had been longing for day and night.

Kind, gentle, and always liked to pat his head...
