Kapitel 170

Su Jinning sniffed, as if it took a lot of effort to swallow the food. Her face was deathly pale.

"What's wrong?" Shen Moyu finally became anxious when he didn't speak.

Su Jinning suddenly stood up and, without waiting for the people around her to react, headed straight for the restroom at the very end of the corridor.

"What's wrong with Ning?" Chen Hang looked at his retreating figure, which was walking faster and faster, and scratched his head in confusion. "What did I say wrong again?"

Shen Moyu frowned, got up, and chased after him.

Now everyone else was even more dumbfounded.

In the bathroom, Su Jinning almost threw up her dinner from last night. Her stomach was churning, and the more she vomited, the more bloated she felt.

Shen Moyu kept patting his back. Seeing how badly he was vomiting, she figured it was because his cold had gotten worse. Su Jinning never liked to eat when he was sick, and his irregular eating habits had caused a common cold to escalate into a serious gastrointestinal issue.

"Brother Ning! Are you alright?"

Upon hearing Chen Hang's voice, Shen Moyu opened the bathroom door and instructed the people outside, "He's vomiting so badly, could you go buy me a bottle of water? I can't leave."

Chen Hang quickly nodded: "Ah! Okay, do you need anything else? Paper or something?"

"No need, water is fine."

Upon hearing this, Chen Hang turned and rushed out of the men's restroom. Song Wenmiao stood there, stunned, muttering to himself, "He was fine just now, why did he throw up?" He rolled his eyes and thought for a moment, "Could it be morning sickness?"

The toilet wasn't soundproof, and Su Jinning could hear everything clearly. However, she was too busy vomiting to pay attention to him.

Then, Song Wenmiao added, "The top student's speed is just too fast."

Su Jinning took a deep breath and shouted, "Get out!!"

After cursing, he vomited.

Song Wenmiao was speechless and silently left the men's restroom.

Su Jinning vomited for a long time, and only stopped leaning against the wall when he could no longer vomit.

Shen Moyu pulled two tissues from her pocket and wiped his mouth, her face pale with worry: "Are you feeling better?"

Su Jinning closed her eyes tightly, feeling as if she had been upside down for hours, her body heavy and aching.

After a long pause, until his stomach was no longer so bloated and painful, he finally nodded reluctantly.

Shen Moyu opened the door and helped him out, just as they bumped into Chen Hang and his companion returning from buying water. Su Jinning quickly grabbed the water and drank half a bottle, which relieved his dizziness considerably.

Seeing Ning vomiting and seeing stars, Chen Hang suddenly remembered something and turned to ask, "Brother Ning, are you also sick? Sister Jin had diarrhea and vomited this morning, so she took the day off at noon."

Su Jinning nodded, too exhausted to speak.

"If it really doesn't work out, just take a leave of absence and go back to get some rest," Shen Moyu advised.

Chen Hang chimed in, "This bird flu outbreak is quite serious; a lot of students have taken leave these past few days. You should go home too, to avoid it getting worse."

Su Jinning thought for a long time, seemingly exhausted from vomiting, and spoke weakly as if she hadn't slept well: "Go to Liu Chunyan's place later to get a sick leave slip. I'll go back to class and sit for a while."

"Okay," Shen Moyu replied.

Su Jinning vomited everything out of her stomach, but she wasn't hungry at all. Instead, she felt bloated as if she had eaten too much.

The temperature has risen again these past two days, and the classroom has returned to its usual stuffy heat. He lay on the desk for a long time before he finally had the strength to get up and pack his things.

As soon as he finished packing his schoolbag, Shen Moyu entered the classroom with his leave slip in his hand.

"Is everything packed?" Shen Moyu filled the remaining bottle of water into the container for him.

Su Jinning nodded and gave a heavy nasal "hmm".

Seeing his unusual quietness, Shen Moyu felt a pang of heartache: "Are you sure you can get back by yourself? Or I can take you."

Hearing this, Su Jinning looked up at him and said, "No need, just focus on your class. I've called my driver to pick me up."

Shen Moyu nodded in relief, then turned and instructed, "Make sure you've brought your admission ticket and other necessary documents. The exam will be on the first day of school."

"Exam admission ticket?" Su Jinning's heavy head seemed to suddenly clear for a moment, and he quickly unzipped his backpack and rummaged through it.

But even after rummaging through his schoolbag until it was almost torn to shreds, he still couldn't find his exam admission ticket.

"Damn it!" Su Jinning couldn't hold back any longer and vented all her anger and frustration from the day.

Half a day later, he slumped against the corner of the wall like a deflated balloon: "I lost my exam admission ticket."

"How could that be? It was still here yesterday. Did you leave it at home?" Shen Moyu asked, and then started searching as well.

Su Jinning shook her head: "I never took it out."

Shen Moyu searched the entire area where they had been sitting, but couldn't find it. To be sure, he asked again, "You really didn't take it out?"

Su Jinning thought for a moment: "I was in a rush this morning and forgot to zip up my backpack. That's probably when I ran away and lost it."

He sighed and said helplessly, "Luckily it's just the midterm exam, otherwise I don't know what you'd do if it were the college entrance exam. Here's what we'll do: I'll go back with you. Give me your ID card and personal information, and I'll go to Sister Jin's to get you a new one."

Su Jinning paused for a moment. There was still half a day left before school ended, and he didn't want to delay Shen Moyu's classes. Besides, it didn't matter if he made it up another day. "Never mind," he said, "I'll go by myself in a couple of days. You focus on your studies at school."

"There's only half a day left, and no major classes in the afternoon. I can take care of it for you while I'm at it."

Su Jinning hesitated, but Shen Moyu had already stood up: "I'll go ask for a leave slip. I'm worried about you being home alone like this."

A short while later, Su Jinning's driver brought the car to the door. The traffic had been terrible all the way, and the car was hot and stuffy with a strong smell of gasoline. Su Jinning already had an upset stomach and almost vomited several times.
