Kapitel 31

Xiao Wenbing nodded silently; he had learned another lesson today.

He peered through the plane window at the clouds drifting outside.

Suddenly, Xiao Wenbing rubbed his eyes. He saw a glimmer of light, a glimmer of light that was rapidly approaching.

"Senior brother, senior brother..."

"What's up?"

"Didn't you say it couldn't fly?"

Zhang Jie nodded and said, "That's right." He was puzzled, as this junior brother was not usually a talkative person.

Pulling at his sleeve, Xiao Wenbing pointed to the window and said, "Look...look..."

Zhang Jie lowered his head, his eyes widening in shock, and muttered, "How is this possible... how is this possible?"

A foreigner, drawn by Xiao Wenbing's strange behavior, looked in the direction he was pointing, then suddenly opened his mouth wide and shouted with all his might, "Ah..."

They both saw a stunningly beautiful woman with flowing robes, walking on a sword.

Clad in white like snow, their swords flashed like rainbows.

She was faster than an airplane, and she was gone in an instant.

In the instant she passed the plane, she seemed to feel Xiao Wenbing's focused gaze. Looking back, her beautiful eyes resembled two unfathomable pools.

A flash of cold light, and her beautiful figure vanished, leaving only her ethereal and fairy-like silhouette in Xiao Wenbing's heart.

"What's wrong? What's wrong?"

A commotion erupted on the plane as everyone turned to look at the foreigner who seemed to be having a fit of madness.

“There’s…there’s someone…” the foreigner said in broken Chinese, sounding rather strange.

On the plane, almost every human being rolled their eyes at him. Of course, what kind of people are on a plane?

A beautiful flight attendant approached, her face still bearing a kind smile, but the smile seemed a little stiff: "Sir, how can I help you?"

The foreigner grabbed the flight attendant's hand and stammered, "Flying...flying."

"Yes, sir, the plane has already taken off." The flight attendant was very professional; she didn't shake off his hand but patiently explained.

"No, no... it's a person, a person... flying, flying. Flay, fly, understand?"

"Sir, all passengers on the plane have already taken off."

"Pfft..." Xiao Wenbing could no longer bear it. He clutched his lower abdomen, feeling a churning, throbbing pain inside.

Although Zhang Jie's expression was equally strange, he remained seated, as steady as a mountain. He truly lived up to his reputation as a master of the Golden Core stage; his composure far surpassed that of Xiao Wenbing, a mere novice in cultivation.

“No…” The foreigner was so anxious that he scratched his head. Although he understood a little Chinese and could handle ordinary daily conversations, how could he describe such an unexpected event? In his anxiety, he had to explain it in English.

"Well, it's like this." Seeing that things were not going well, Xiao Wenbing quickly stood up. He walked to the foreigner's side, nodded kindly to him, and said in his extremely broken English, "I say."

The foreigner nodded vigorously as soon as he saw it was him. He had only noticed the strange change outside the window because he was looking in the direction Xiao Wenbing was pointing, and when he saw Xiao Wenbing come out on his own initiative, he quickly agreed.

"Everyone, here's what happened." Xiao Wenbing took out a cell phone from his pocket, pressed a few buttons, and played a video.

The video footage is from the famous "Legend of the Swordsmen of Shushan". Xiao Wenbing pointed with his finger, and the screen froze on a scene of two people flying through the air on their swords.

Xiao Wenbing downloaded this movie from the internet a year ago and never deleted it. Unexpectedly, it came in handy now.

Xiao Wenbing first showed the image to the person next to him, then held it up to the foreigner and asked, "Is this?"

The foreigner nodded repeatedly, exclaiming "Yes" in a string.

Xiao Wenbing held up his phone and said loudly, "My friend and I were watching the movie 'The Legend of the Swordsmen of Shushan' when this foreign friend saw this scene and suddenly shouted out loud."

"Oh." The group, suddenly realizing what was happening, found themselves both amused and exasperated, and their gazes towards the foreigner became tinged with disdain.

Xiao Wenbing spoke quickly and urgently, with a slight regional accent. The Chinese could understand him, but the foreigners were completely bewildered and couldn't make heads or tails of him.

"Although this friend doesn't watch many movies and doesn't know much about our ancient Chinese civilization spanning five thousand years, he is, after all, our guest. We are a nation of etiquette, so let's not blame him."

Xiao Wenbing's words were agreed upon by most people, and everyone returned to their seats and stopped making a fuss.

Xiao Wenbing smiled slightly at the foreigner, waved goodbye, and then sat down to rest with his eyes closed.

The foreigner had a vague feeling that something was wrong; why did the Chinese seem so indifferent to the fact that people could fly?

But he had seen the screen on Xiao Wenbing's phone with his own eyes and heard him babbling on and on. He was so grateful to him that he would never suspect him.

After thinking for a while, the foreigner finally made a decision. He came up to Xiao Wenbing, greeted him politely, and then Xiao Wenbing asked for the name of the movie on his phone, intending to study it carefully when he got back.

Unexpectedly, his actions were seen by others, and even those who had some doubts at first now had their suspicions dispelled. It turned out that this foreigner really was watching a video.

A pretty flight attendant approached Xiao Wenbing with light steps and said in a very soft voice, "Sir, please do not use your mobile phone on the plane, okay?"

“Sure…” Xiao Wenbing readily agreed. After the flight attendant left, he quietly asked his second senior brother beside him, “Senior brother, who was that?”

"I don't know," Zhang Jie answered decisively.

"How could you not know?"

Zhang Jie gave a wry smile and said, "There are at least several thousand cultivators on Earth. How could you possibly recognize them all?"

"Ah, several thousand people?" Xiao Wenbing exclaimed in surprise. So the number of immortals was quite large.

"Yes, but..."

"But what?"

"Just as she passed by, you already discerned that she was at the early stage of the Golden Core realm. Hmm, early stage of the Golden Core realm, she must have just entered the Golden Core stage. Didn't her elders in the sect teach her?"

------------------------

The plane soon arrived at the destination. The two got off the plane and had just stepped out of the airport when Zhang Jie shouted loudly.

A robust young man strode over, and the two shook hands and chatted like old friends.

"Senior Brother Chen, I never expected that you would come in person."

"Hehe... Our two families are old friends. As soon as I received Zhao Feng's call, I couldn't wait to come over."

Although they are all practitioners of Taoism, they are not averse to modern technology, and mobile phones are a common tool for them. Daily communication via telephone and the internet is something they have long been accustomed to.

Spiritual energy is precious, and now that there are more convenient and faster methods, naturally no one will waste it.

Disciples at the Golden Core stage have fewer concerns in this regard, but those with insufficient cultivation levels truly have no choice but to rely on modern technology.

"Junior Brother Zhang, is this your Junior Brother?"

“Yes.” Zhang Jie then realized that the person who personally came to pick him up was not him, but his eccentric junior brother. However, he was absolutely proud of this junior brother: “Junior brother, this is Senior Brother Chen Shanji of the Tianyi Sect. I have received a lot of guidance from him in my Taoist arts.”

"Greetings, Senior Brother Chen."

"Not at all." Chen Shanji strode forward, took his hand, examined him carefully, and sighed, "A spiritual root body, truly living up to its reputation. Young brother, to have met both of you today is truly a life without regrets."

"The two of you?"

"Exactly."

A strange thought suddenly surged into Xiao Wenbing's mind, and a beautiful figure and a pair of bright eyes flashed through his mind.

Dressed in white like snow, she floated like a fairy.

After Chen Shanji got into the car, they drove for several hours until they arrived at a winding mountain road.

"We're here. The mountain gate of the Heavenly Dao Sect is not far ahead," Zhang Jie said softly as he approached Xiao Wenbing.

He nodded silently. Why did all of this seem so familiar? Both the Secret Talisman Sect and the Heavenly Dao Sect opened their gates in remote and secluded places.

If it were ancient times, their comings and goings would surely have been accompanied by dazzling sword light, inspiring awe and wonder.

However, nowadays, Xiao Wenbing touched the comfortable leather seat under his buttocks, and realized that cultivators nowadays are making full use of modern tools.

Well, in terms of grandeur, the Tianyi Sect's car seems to be a level above Zhao Feng's.

Xiao Wenbing peered longingly through the car window, when suddenly he exclaimed in surprise, "Second Senior Brother, what's that?"

Halfway up the mountain, a large iron gate suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and several guards in uniform with guns slung over their backs could be vaguely seen inside.

"bodyguard."

"Bodyguards?" Xiao Wenbing's face showed indescribable surprise. His eyesight was quite sharp at this moment, and he knew as soon as he saw those people that they were just ordinary people. Even if they were a little strong, they were definitely ordinary people. Even an outer disciple of the Secret Talisman Sect could easily take them down.

At least, given his current level of cultivation, he wouldn't care about any more people like that coming.

“Junior Brother Xiao, this mountain is the foundation of our Tianyi Sect, and of course there are some things inside that cannot be made public. In order to prevent outsiders, we hired this security company.”

"Senior Brother Chen, are you also afraid of being robbed?"

"It's not that I'm afraid of being robbed, it's that I'm afraid of the trouble."

Xiao Wenbing nodded as if he understood. At that moment, the car stopped. The bodyguards came out, saw Chen Shanji, and immediately bowed respectfully before opening the gate.

Are the guns they're carrying real?

"Yes."

“However, Senior Brother Chen, these guns probably won’t kill anyone.” When Xiao Wenbing was in the Core Formation stage, he was already unafraid of ordinary guns, let alone now that his inner core is complete. These firearms are no longer of any interest to him.

Chen Shanji smiled and said, "They're only guarding against ordinary petty thieves. Those people are afraid of guns but not knives."

Xiao Wenbing suddenly realized that ordinary people were being used to guard against ordinary people. So if cultivators were to try anything funny here, then naturally, someone would appear to help them.

The car stopped in the garage, and the three got out. A young man immediately came forward and drove the car away. Xiao Wenbing glanced at him and saw that although the man had no spiritual power, his internal strength was quite formidable. He should be an outer disciple of the Heavenly Dao Sect.

"Please, both of you."

Now that we're here, there's no need to hide anything. Using his magic, he swiftly reached the mountain peak.

At the mountaintop, amidst the swirling clouds and mist, Chen Shanji pointed, and a golden road instantly emerged from the clouds and came to their feet.
