Oh, so he wanted to invite me to a movie. Well, he's only been in office for a short time, and besides me, he doesn't have many other people he can easily invite.
"I have time, but what does this have to do with flowers?"
"Because I wasn't very confident, I saw a bouquet of flowers from Kurosawa yesterday and asked you out for dinner, so I just copied him." He said this half-jokingly, making it hard to tell if he was serious or not.
It's a headache.
"Oh, I see. Then it's agreed that we'll meet at 7 pm on Saturday. Are you coming to my place for dinner, or your place, or are you going out to eat, or are you going to find something on your own and then meet up?" I asked seriously.
I suddenly realized that I'm still quite the housewife at heart. Someone invited me to a movie, such a romantic moment, but I was thinking about practical matters. Shouldn't I usually be thinking about what to wear that night?
"You've really thought of everything," he chuckled. "That movie theater happens to be near your house, and... I really like your stuff, so I'll be shameless this time and come to your place."
"You're too kind, you're too kind. If you like it, I'll cook it for you every time, no problem," I said smugly. As soon as I said it, I regretted it. Wasn't that a bit too suggestive?
"Then you can't go back on your word later," he said with a wink and a smile.
Looking at Shao Yuzhe's smiling face, I felt there was something slightly off.
"Manager, Mr. Tang needs to speak with you." Secretary Sun knocked on the open door, nodded to me, and then said to Shao Yuzhe.
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” Then he turned around and said to me with a smile, “It’s settled, Saturday.”
Then I went out.
Hmm, Saturday, let's have steak.
At six o'clock on Saturday, Shao Yuzhe rang the doorbell precisely on time.
When I opened the door, I saw him carrying the ingredients for tonight's dinner. He insisted on this, saying that since I provided the cooking skills, he naturally had to provide the ingredients.
What a high level of thought!
Ji An and the others, when have they ever not come here with a bang, all the time they think of something?
People who live on the same land, how can they be so different?
"Actually, I wanted to say this last time I came: your house is really well-decorated, giving people a very comfortable feeling. No wonder Ji An and the others always come here." He walked to the kitchen as if he knew the way well, put his things down, and said.
“Yes, the result is that my home has finally become a common room.” I said with a smile, accepting his compliment. “So, your home gives me a feeling of cleanliness, neatness, and stability, just like you do.”
"The layout of a house can really reflect the owner's personality, and so can yours."
Comfortable, at ease, am I like that?
After we finished eating and tidied up, it was only 7:30. I knew that movie theater; it was not far from my house. If I drove, I would have to go around it, but if I walked, taking a shortcut, it would only take about fifteen minutes. So I suggested we take a walk, and Shao Yuzhe agreed without hesitation.
However, my suggestion seems to be wrong. When we came out of the movie, we found it was raining outside, so we had to stand at the door and wait.
"No way, I just finished watching a disaster movie about weather, and it started raining as soon as I came out," Shao Yuzhe said, looking at the light rain.
"Yes, I was at home during my sophomore year break, watching 'The Ring' alone late at night. The phone rang right after I finished watching it." Since I was bored anyway, I decided to talk about things from the past.
"And then?" he asked with interest.
"I was scared half to death. The phone kept ringing. I didn't dare to breathe, let alone answer it. Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore and answered it. It turned out to be my mother calling to ask if I was doing well."
"What a pity," he said, smiling at me.
"We can't get a taxi here, so why don't we run back? The rain isn't that heavy anyway," I suggested.
"Fine, that's the only way," he said helplessly.
Although the rain wasn't heavy, and it only took about five minutes to run, we still got very wet.
When I got home, I found a new towel and handed it to Shao Yuzhe. "Take a shower first, and I'll dry your clothes."
"You go ahead and wash up, be careful not to catch a cold."
“It’s okay, I can dry myself off with a towel and change into dry clothes, but you can’t do that, your clothes will definitely be wet before they dry, unless you wear mine.” I looked at him and told him to choose for himself.
He obediently took the towel and went to take a bath.
When I came out of the shower, Shao Yuzhe was sitting on the sofa, drinking the milk I had heated up for him.
He smiled at me warmly and said, "When I came out just now, I saw the neatly folded dry clothes in the laundry basket, and then you told me that you had heated up some milk for me. I realized that you are a very thoughtful and gentle person."
I blushed slightly, and the microwave beeped. I said, "You did well too, the timing was perfect."
He got up, took the hot milk out of the microwave, and after I saw him get it, I sat on the sofa and dried my hair.
"When did you grow your hair?" he asked as he handed over the milk.
"It was during my senior year of college, when I had more free time, so I grew it out." Before that, he always had short hair, which made him look more like a boy.
The milk was a little hot, so I put down the towel and took it with both hands. He then picked up the towel and started drying my hair.
This...this...this...isn't it a bit...but it's very comfortable, and I'm...right?
"Why don't you use a hairdryer?" His voice came from above the back of my head.
"Oh, it's because I really like the feeling of my hair being a little damp. Besides, the hot air from the hairdryer makes me fall asleep so easily."
"Then dry yourself off, be careful not to catch a cold."
"Mmm," I said obediently, nestled on the sofa, sipping my warm milk.
I can smell his fragrance; it's the effect of my soap mixed with his scent.
