Chapter 21

"Hey~ I've got the pentakill sorted out."

"Ye Misheng, did you get into the e-sports club because of your looks?" The enemy crystal exploded, displaying a Victory effect. Zhou Zhou smiled broadly and joked, "I'm not playing anymore. Tonight? Let's talk about it tonight. I don't want to play with you anymore, you're bad."

Fu Hengzhi was walking ahead when he heard Zhou Zhou's laughter behind him. He became increasingly agitated and suddenly stopped.

The sudden stop ahead was unexpected for Zhou Zhou. He had just closed the game and looked up when his face collided closely with Fu Hengzhi's back.

"Hiss..." Fu Hengzhi is the type who looks slim in clothes, but his back is full of solid muscles. Zhou Zhou couldn't stop in time and bumped into him, causing her nose to sting and her to gasp for breath. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Fu Hengzhi wanted to turn around and scold Zhou Zhou, but when he saw that the other party was covering his nose and looking at him with tears streaming down his face, all the anger that had been simmering for a moment dissipated as if someone had made a small hole in the end with a needle.

"Are you alright?" Fu Hengzhi asked anxiously, leaning over to push Zhou Zhou's hand away to check.

"It's a little sore and stuffy," Zhou Zhou said truthfully. The hand that had been pushed away reached up again to pinch the bridge of her nose and the sides of her nose. After confirming that there was nothing wrong, she shook her head.

Fu Hengzhi breathed a sigh of relief and stepped aside to let Zhou Zhou walk in front of him. Seeing that Zhou Zhou's hand was still covering his nose, he snorted and said, "If you hadn't played games with Ye Misheng, this wouldn't have happened."

Zhou Zhou's nose stung, and she covered it, not wanting to speak. She just chuckled twice and ignored him.

Seeing that the other party was ignoring him, Fu Hengzhi's face fell.

He had a sour face the whole time he ate, and he kept glancing at Zhou Zhou across from him, as if the other person owed him a fortune.

Zhou Zhou felt a chill run down her spine from his constant glances. She focused on the white rice in her bowl and dared not look up, keeping an eye on him out of the corner of her eye, wondering what she had done to offend him.

"I'm going upstairs. I haven't finished my work for today." Fu Hengzhi said this, glanced at Zhou Zhou, and snorted.

Zhou Zhou only dared to raise her head when she heard the door close upstairs. Taking advantage of Aunt Feng coming to collect the dishes, she asked, "What happened to him?"

Who upset him?

Before the two of them came downstairs, Aunt Feng had been busy in the kitchen. Not knowing what was wrong with Fu Heng's temper, she boldly guessed, "Maybe he's just too tired from work?"

He nodded after saying that, finding it increasingly reasonable.

“Men are bound to get irritable when they’re tired from working outside.” He also gently advised Zhou Zhou, “You should be more understanding of Hengzhi.”

"Hey, I thought it was something serious." After all, the Fu Group is such a big company, and being the president isn't easy. Zhou Zhou waved his hand, "Everyone's a man, don't worry, I understand."

Seeing Zhou Zhou's magnanimity, Aunt Feng nodded in approval, saying that the young couple needed to understand and respect each other for the relationship to last.

She then busied herself creating various opportunities for the two of them, saying things like, "Auntie, cut some fruit, why don't you take it up to Hengzhi?"

Without much thought, Zhou Zhou readily agreed, "Okay."

[Author's note: Zhou Zhou: I understand being tired from work; everyone goes through this.]

The argument that two people who have never been in a relationship are unaware of their own solitude equals the argument that Zhou Zhou has a self-awareness as a straight man.

I was planning to update twice a week, but I also want to watch the Winter Olympics on QQ.

This gives me pause for thought.

Chapter Twenty-Three: A Man's Mouth, a Deceitful Ghost

.

Fu Heng was in his study. Zhou Zhou knocked on the door with a fruit platter outside and only dared to enter after receiving permission.

There's nothing we can do; our domineering CEO is always in a bad mood.

Fu Hengzhi was already irritable, and Zhou Zhou dared not provoke him any further.

The study is spacious, and behind Fu Hengzhi's desk is a whole wall of bookshelves, enclosed by glass doors, which effectively solves the problem of dust accumulation and cleaning.

"Aunt Feng cut some fruit for you, remember to eat it." Zhou Zhou didn't look at it much, placing the fruit plate to Fu Hengzhi's left, within easy reach, and without disturbing the other's work.

Zhou Zhou didn't leave immediately, but stood aside, staring at Fu Hengzhi.

Fu Hengzhi was looking at the electronic clock of the projects his company had recently secured. The presence of a few extra eyes on him made him feel a little awkward, yet he also enjoyed the attention.

The measure from Zhou Zhou.

"You..." Fu Hengzhi cleared his throat twice, feigning seriousness, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Work must be tiring, right? The Fu family's huge business is weighing on your shoulders." Zhou Zhou's expression was very serious, and the concern in his eyes didn't seem fake.

The other person was worried about his health, and Fu Hengzhi's lips unconsciously curled up slightly. "Actually, it's not much..."

"You're so busy, why bother going back and forth? It would be so much better to live at the company," Zhou Zhou sighed and said first.

"..."

Fu Hengzhi's expression changed instantly, and he looked even angrier than before he came in.

"Are you upset that I'm back?"

Fu Hengzhi's eyes revealed a dangerous glint, and Zhou Zhou quickly waved his hand upon hearing this.

"No, no, I'm just worried about you. The company isn't close to here, and you still drive back and forth by yourself. I'm afraid you'll overwork yourself."

After explaining, Fu Hengzhi's expression softened a bit, but it still wasn't good. Zhou Zhou reached out and rubbed the back of her neck, thinking to herself, "How can this domineering CEO's emotions change so quickly?"

I can't figure it out, goodbye.

"I won't bother you anymore. Good luck with your work." Zhou Zhou waved politely, smiled, and turned away. Before Fu Hengzhi could speak, she had already disappeared from the study.

After returning to his room, Zhou Zhou took a shower, changed into his pajamas, and continued to relax. He received a private message as soon as he logged into the game.

From the original owner's thoughtful assistant, Xiao Zhao.

- Xiao Zhao: Hey, is this me?

Zhou Zhou: Hmm.

Assistant Zhao's speaking style was probably only directed at Zhou Zhou; after confirming it was him, he added emoticons.

Xiao Zhao: Zhou Ge, why are you playing games? QAQ

Xiao Zhao: Didn't you say that playing games is a waste of time? QAQ

The original owner didn't even play games? Maybe he was bad at them.

Zhou Zhou felt that his idea made a lot of sense.

- Zhou Zhou: It's okay to play occasionally.

Zhou Zhou: Together?

No sooner had the message been sent than the other side sent a game invitation.

"Brother Zhou, I've read your novel, it's really well written!" A young-sounding voice immediately praised him, and Zhou Zhou laughed twice.

"It's just so-so."

"Hey, Brother Zhou, is this your friend? I let him in."

No sooner had he finished speaking than another person joined the team.

"Brother Zhou, you're really not taking me with you anymore?" Ye Misheng's voice trailed off with a hint of grievance, which gave Zhou Zhou goosebumps.

"Can't you speak properly? Otherwise, I'll kick you out," Zhou Zhou threatened loudly, and sure enough, Ye Mi's voice sounded much more normal on the other end.

"Who is this?" Ye Misheng realized that there was more than one person in the team.

"My former personal assistant was named Zhao..."

Xiao Zhao was a warm and cheerful person. Before Zhou Zhou could finish speaking, he said loudly, "Just call me Xiao Zhao."

The other party's response was perfectly timed, just as Zhou Zhou couldn't recall Xiao Zhao's full name.

"Hello, my name is Ye Misheng." Ye Misheng introduced himself frankly without any pretense.

Xiao Zhao repeated the name a few times, then chuckled and said, "Your name sounds just like Ye Qisheng's, hahaha, anyone who didn't know better would think you two are family."

Zhou Zhou was selecting his skills when he heard this. He swiped his finger and accidentally selected Heal instead of Punishment, which happened to coincidentally, and then entered the game.

"..." Damn it.

Ye Misheng laughed and said, "We're like family. He's my brother... Zhou-ge, why are you bringing Heal when you're jungling?"

The cheerful atmosphere came to an abrupt end, and Xiao Zhao suddenly went silent. Zhou Zhou seriously suspected that he had turned off his microphone.

"I ordered the wrong thing, it's not a big deal." Zhou Zhou spoke confidently, without a hint of embarrassment.

However, Xiao Zhao panicked. While the game was in progress, Zhou Zhou's phone was bombarded with WeChat messages popping up in the pop-up window.

Xiao Zhao: Holy crap!

Xiao Zhao: Holy crap!!! Holy crap!!!

Xiao Zhao: Brother Zhou, are you trying to seduce your younger brother because you can't win over your older brother? QAQ

-Xiao Zhao: I think people shouldn't, or at least shouldn't QAQ

Zhou Zhou was amused by his three messages, laughed and scolded him, and replied to him in a small window.

Zhou Zhou: What are you thinking? We're just playing some games together.

- Zhou Zhou: And I've already reformed.

Zhou Zhou: Now it's perfectly straight!

There was no response from either of them; they had clearly muted their microphones. Ye Misheng guessed that they were communicating privately, but he just smiled and didn't say anything. However, his eyes, which were fixed on the phone screen, were filled with a sly look.

He was confused that day, and actually listened to the other party's slander, letting his thoughts be led astray.

The whole "playing hard to get" thing to get Fu Hengzhi's attention is clearly fake. Her attitude towards his brother has just shifted from liking to disliking him. As for Fu Hengzhi... she's clearly the wife of the Fu family but also has to do part-time writing, and she doesn't seem to be financially well-off. Maybe their relationship isn't as good as it appears to be, and their marriage is just in name only.

Ye Misheng chuckled, and then...

FirstBlood

"Ye Misheng, what are you laughing at? You arrived before the minions even got here at the start, are you proud of being a 'warm-up'?"

Zhou Zhou didn't hold back in criticizing the player who was killed by the enemy's defensive tower right at the start of the game.

Ye Misheng was a little embarrassed and coughed twice, "I was just spacing out."

After finishing his work, Fu Hengzhi rubbed his temples, glanced at the untouched fruit beside him, picked it up, and prepared to go downstairs to put it back in the kitchen.

I paused slightly when I reached the top of the stairs, and hesitated for a moment.

Aunt Feng downstairs was still awake at this hour. Seeing him standing at the second-floor entrance with a plate, she hurried up to him, saying, "Just give it to me."

When I got close enough, I realized the other person hadn't eaten a single bite of fruit.
