Chapter 20

"Auntie, what are you dawdling for? Hurry up!" The boy in pink grinned slightly, tilting his head and scolding the boy in black.

"Damn it! Yan hope, you're so unfair! I ran out in my slippers to save you, and you're still making sarcastic remarks!" Xin Dayi panted heavily, hooked his knee and slammed it into the delinquent he was fighting with. As the man clutched his stomach and cried out in pain, Xin Dayi kicked him, ending the fight.

Ah Heng stared intently at Xin Dayi's yellow tiger-head slippers, and her previously tense face suddenly contorted into a groan as she burst out laughing.

"I didn't ask you to save me, it was Xiaoxia who was being nosy." Yan hope glared at the telephone pole next to him.

"Brother Yanxi, I was just worried you'd get hurt!" A thin, small boy wearing a hat emerged from behind the telephone pole, pouting, looking like a middle school student. "Brother, you're not allowed to be angry with me. If you're angry with me, I won't play with you anymore!"

"Tch!" Yan hope rubbed the boy's head, which was covered by a hat, and smiled. There was nothing she could do about him.

Ah Heng observed from a distance and realized that it was this child who made that distress call.

"Ahem, Ah Xi, what do you want to do with this guy?" Si Wan grabbed the burly young man who called himself "Tiger Tyrant," feeling awkward and unsure of what to do.

"What...what do you want to do?" The young man was just bluffing. Seeing his henchmen scattered and defeated, he broke out in a cold sweat.

Yan hope shook her wrist, a smile curving her lips, her beauty captivating, and walked to the side of the burly young man.

"What did you say your name was?" Yan hope asked him lazily.

"Tiger King! You don't even know my name? Everyone in the underworld knows me!" The young man puffed out his belly fat, bluffing.

"I've only heard of Mianba, not Huba," Yan hope said with a forced smile.

"Axi, how did you get involved with someone like that?" Siwan frowned.

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Yan hope rolled her eyes.

"You...you...you stole my Meimei and you still say you don't know me? You're such a bastard!" The boy's chubby nose twitched angrily.

"Meimei? Who?" Yan hope raised an eyebrow, completely confused.

"Meimei, my boyfriend, we've been together for eight years, and he just ran off with you like that!" Tiger's cheeks trembled as he looked on the verge of tears.

"Yan hope, Yan the beauty, oh, you still do this? Mei Mei, oh my, I can't take it anymore, I'm dying of laughter..." Xin Dayi, standing to the side, flashed his big white teeth and burst into laughter.

The boy in the hat was also a cheerful and energetic person. He looked at Xin Dayi and couldn't hold back for long. He was infected by her laughter, and the two of them burst into laughter.

"Young Master, how could I do such a despicable thing?!" Yan hope rolled his eyes at the two grinning fools.

“To be honest, young master, you’ve done it.” Siwan suddenly remembered something and rubbed his forehead as he spoke.

"When?" Yan hope frowned, confused.

"The one from No. 7 Middle School," Siwan said helplessly, "the one who pursued you, her name is something like Angelbeauty."

"Yes, it's Meimei!" The burly boy pounded his chest and stamped his feet, in unbearable pain.

Yan hope.

"What do you mean by 'oh'!" The boy was grabbed by the shoulder by Siwan and bounced on the spot.

"Oh, right. We didn't do anything. We only kissed once. She was wearing lipstick, which was disgusting. We broke up after that," Yan hope said casually.

"This is nothing? I'm going to kill you!!" The burly boy cried.

"Yanxi, that's enough, stop teasing him!" For some reason, Siwan was a little agitated, and her beautiful brows furrowed.

"I kissed her, I really kissed her." Yan hope stared intently into Si Wan's eyes, his gaze proud and beautiful without flinching.

Suddenly, Ah Heng thought of that evening, the ambiguous and entangled figures under the lamplight.

“Ah Xi, you…” Siwan smiled bitterly, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible.

Why do I keep hurting myself when I'm clearly afraid...?

"Hey you over there, what are you doing?!" came a shout.

Bright green police uniforms.

Siwan was momentarily stunned and let go of his hand.

"I'll fight you to the death!" Tiger Tyrant seized the opportunity, grabbed a beer bottle from the ground, and smashed it hard on Yan hope's head.

"Brother!" The boy in the hat lost control and shouted.

Yan hope turned around, and before he knew it, a bottle was smashed towards him. He instinctively leaned to the left to avoid hitting his head, but was hit on the shoulder instead.

The glass bottle wasn't broken, but shards of glass from the rim cut the boy's shoulder.

A patch of bright red, like the color of a flower, was stained on the pink dress, both alluring and terrifying.

Yan hope clutched his right shoulder, his brows furrowing in pain.

Xin Dayi lunged forward, tackled Hu Ba to the ground, pressed his knee down, and clamped Hu Ba's hands tightly around his neck. He was furious, his eyes blazing with rage—"Damn it, do you believe I can strangle you to death today, or even avoid jail time!"

"Oh, what a big mouth you've got!" A patrolman wearing a peaked cap walked over, and when he saw Yan hope and the others, he was stunned—"What, it's you again?"

"Officer Fu, unfortunately, it's us again." Yan hope's lips were pale, but he grinned and secretly made a hand gesture. Xin Dayi let go of his hand and stood up.

"Little shrimp, you've stolen something again?" The patrolman was a burly, dark-skinned man. Seeing the "corpses" all over the ground, he twitched his lips and looked at the boy wearing a hat.

"I didn't!" the child puffed out his cheeks.

"Alright, you guys, come with me to the police station. We'll talk about anything there!" The patrolman waved his hand, gesturing for them to get into the police car, muttering under his breath as they drove, "Damn it, our station will become a daycare center sooner or later!"

"Stand in a straight line!" Officer Fu stood in the duty room, noticing that there were too many people and his eyes were blurry. He took off his peaked cap, tapped the table, and gave the order.

One, two, three, four, five, six? Huh, why is there one more? Let's count again... one, two, three, four, five... six, and there's one more. Let's count again, one... two... three... four... five... six, and there's still one more?

Officer Fu was taken aback. He glanced at everyone, looked at their faces, and then looked at the girl huddled in the corner clutching the first-aid kit. He asked, "Young lady, who are you?"

Ah Heng shook his head and remained silent.

Siwan and the others in the car were only focused on Yan hope's injury and didn't notice when Aheng had followed them.

Siwan got anxious and winked at Aheng, but Aheng pretended not to see it.

"Why is she here?" Xin Dayi muttered to herself, glancing sideways at Aheng standing next to Xiaoxia on her right, a vague displeasure rising in her heart.

Standing beside him, shoulder to shoulder, were only his brothers, not any other unrelated or even disliked people. To forcibly intrude into their ranks would be a desecration of the sacred place in his heart.

"Go away, hurry up and leave. What's this young lady doing at the police station so late at night instead of going home?" Officer Fu waved Ah Heng away.

"I don't understand." Ah Heng shook her head, her expression innocent.

"You don't understand? You're not from City B?" Officer Fu scratched his head, finding the situation tricky. "Where do you live?"

“You said you don’t understand.” Ah Heng continued to shake her head.

"Do you know her?" Officer Fu asked them, pointing at Aheng.

"We don't know them." That was the unanimous opinion.

They couldn't afford any more complications; if they found out their youngest daughter was involved, the grandfathers would scold them.

"Alright, alright, just stay there quietly. If you get hungry, just say so, and I'll buy you something to eat." Officer Fu was a soft-hearted man who couldn't bear to see the weak and destitute.

"Gentlemen, tell me what happened today?" Officer Fu turned around, putting on a stern face. "Last time, it was the same three of you who beat up everyone in the bar, and you still haven't learned your lesson."

“Why did they blame us last time? They were the ones who attacked a child first,” Xin Dayi said indignantly.

Ah Heng quietly shrank back and slowly moved to the left from the shadows.

"Isn't that because this little rascal is incorrigible and went to steal things?" Officer Fu said, pointing at the boy wearing a hat.

"What a cruel thing it is that these little kids stole two loaves of bread!" Yan hope sneered.

A few days ago, he went to a bar with his aunt Siwan. They saw a group of people beating a child. The reason was ridiculous: the child was hungry and stole two loaves of bread from the kitchen. When he was caught, several people kicked the malnourished, thin child hard. The child vomited bile for a long time but still wouldn't let go. They couldn't stand it and started fighting with those people. In the end, coincidentally, it was Officer Fu who cleaned up the mess.

Officer Fu sighed, knowing that the boy was telling the truth.

"I only took it because I wanted to eat it, it has nothing to do with Brother Yanxi and the others!" Little Shrimp pouted, almost crying.

"Are you even a man? What are you crying for?" Xin Dayi laughed and vigorously wiped the child's tears with his sleeve.

This child is very clingy. Ever since he was saved, he's been following them around all day like a little tail. But he's a lovable kid, and he's especially good with Yan hope's temper.

Meanwhile, Xin Dayi, unusually good-natured, coaxed the child.

Meanwhile, while everyone's attention was diverted, Ah Heng slowly and almost imperceptibly moved to the left.

Almost there, almost there, hehe...

"So what happened today?" Officer Fu looked at the burly young man, a familiar face, scratched his head, and said, "Aren't you that bastard guy...?"

"Noodle master." Yan hope replied smoothly, though his wound was still throbbing.

"It's Tiger Tyrant!" the boy exclaimed angrily.

"Tiger, you need to confess first!" Officer Fu slammed his hand on the table.

I move, I move, little by little...

Ah Heng breathed a sigh of relief; they had finally arrived. She secretly shed a tear of sympathy for herself.

She gently tugged at the sleeve of the boy in front of her.

Yan hope turned around, surprised. Seeing that no one was watching, he moved closer to Si Wan on the right, blocking A Heng's body.

"What's wrong?" he asked her softly.

"I brought a first-aid kit," Ah Heng said in a voice barely audible.

The boy looked at his shoulder; the blood on it had turned dark.

"Where were you in the car just now? You've bled all the blood now." Yan hope said, feeling frustrated.

"I can't squeeze in," Aheng said, feeling wronged.

A whole bunch of people were surrounding Yan hope, making it impossible for her to squeeze in. Besides, if Si Wan found out that she had gone up there too, she would be kicked off.

"Axi, what did you say?" Siwan frowned, thinking that Yanxi was talking to him.

"I'm talking to your daughter, this is none of your business!" Yan hope said irritably.

Siwan turned her head and broke out in a cold sweat.

"You're not staying still, you dare to wander around?" Siwan's eyebrows twisted.

"What are you two talking about?!" Officer Fu walked over and noticed that there was clearly an extra hand between the two teenagers.

"Make way!"

The two teenagers, sharing the same ideals, slapped the extra hand back.
