Peerless Heiress - Chapter 13
Chapter 31 Little Eagle, Run!
His regret was blatantly obvious. He looked at me pitifully.
I smiled and remained completely unmoved.
This monster will never be able to shake off his bad habit of spying on other people's thoughts unless he uses strong measures.
"Hey, little Yan'er..." Master chuckled and came closer. Before he could finish speaking, a crisp sound of a key turning could be heard from the entrance hall, followed by a soft "bang" as the door closed.
It was as if Pandora's box had been suddenly opened; the hall suddenly became noisy, filled with footsteps, excited shouts, and yells.
"Honey, we're back. Are you home?"
It was my older sister's unique, melodic voice.
"Qingyan, come and see what Mom brought back for you!"
Wow, Mom and my older sister are already back from Paris? Has a week already passed in this timeline? I jumped up, grabbed the teddy bear, and rushed outside.
"Little Dot, Dot, baby, come out quickly and see the newest flavor of dog food Mommy bought for you! It's the favorite of dogs in Paris, come and try it!"
That damned mother of mine only remembers her dog son.
"Oh dear—, I'm exhausted, I need to take a rose petal bath. Ah—, it's been a week since I've seen my rose garden, it must be blooming with lots of flowers again, wow, I need to go see—, la ﹏﹏" My older sister hummed a tune as she trotted upstairs.
My steps, which were rushing towards the door, came to an abrupt halt. Oh my god, the rooftop rose garden! I'd completely forgotten about it! I hadn't watered it even once. Roses are such delicate little things, which is why I don't like them. They must be mostly withered and dead by now. Waaaaah, my older sister is going to kill me!
My mom was still affectionately calling to her dog son. I grabbed my hair in frustration. Waaah! That damn little hunting dog that always tries to steal my territory was also completely forgotten. But you can't blame me for that. Even if I remembered them, I wouldn't be able to help them, would I? I can't exactly stretch my arms out to this time and space to feed them, can I?
Uh, a person only lives for about a week without food and water. I wonder if a puppy lives longer? I can almost see the furry little corpse of a hunting dog swaying in front of me. And my mom and sister going crazy.
I shrank my neck and shivered.
I hurriedly threw the teddy bear aside and rushed onto the balcony.
"Little owl, little owl!" I hurriedly unchained the owl's leg and urgently urged, "Fly away quickly, and don't come back for now. I'll look for you if anything happens. Hurry!"
The little owl tilted its neck, opened its bright eyes, looked at me, gently pecked my finger, and then spread its wings and flew away.
A soft laugh sounded behind me. My master leaned against the doorframe, a mocking smile playing on his lips as he looked at me. "I've helped you get through this, how about that?"
My eyes lit up.
"Demon Soup." The master smiled alluringly.
"Hmph! No way!" I refused decisively. I am a woman of very, very principles. I never accept threats.
The door was slammed open, and Mom stood angrily in the doorway.
"Lin Qingyan, where is my little one?!"
I shrank back, forcing a smile, but before I could even speak, my older sister's piercing scream rang out from the rooftop: "Lin Qingyan, I'm going to kill you—!"
Chapter 32 Taking advantage of a crisis
The sound of hurried footsteps descending the stairs was accompanied by the thud of something falling to the ground.
I flinched again. My master's voice drifted over, "Are you sure you don't want to?"
My lips twitched a few times.
That damned monster, he's really good at kicking someone when they're down.
"This isn't kicking someone when they're down, it's taking advantage of someone's misfortune." The voice remained light and airy, tinged with a smile.
"Qingyan!" Mom stormed over, her face dark with anger. "Did you not feed her at all? Where's my little one? Huh?—"
"Hehe, Mom, listen to me..." I stammered, sweating profusely, "Um, um... Ah! Master, you're here! Master, you look so handsome today! Wow, Mom, look, doesn't this black outfit suit Master's style perfectly?"
I laughed exaggeratedly, and with one decisive and merciless motion, dragged my master out from behind the huge curtain.
The anger that Mom hadn't had a chance to vent vanished without a trace the moment she saw Master, like lingering snow in the sunlight.
My master's body trembled slightly beneath my hands, and the smile on his face was stiff.
"Ye Ye, when did you get here?" Mom rushed over enthusiastically, clinging to Master's arm like a koala. "Qing Yan, you're absolutely right, Ye Ye looks so handsome in this outfit, hehe."
A look of terror flashed across my master's face. Before he could even protest against my deliberate framing and failure to help, my older sister screamed and rushed over.
"Ah—Ya Ya, my Ya Ya!"
"Ye Ye, let's go to the living room to talk. It's too cramped here, Xiao Xiao."
"Yeah, yeah, by the way, Ye Ye, the beauty patches you made for me last time were really effective. My colleagues, and their colleagues' colleagues, and even the neighbors all want some. You have to make a lot for me today, hehe."
"Oh, and there's a Andy Lau concert tomorrow! The tickets are so expensive, and they sold out a week ago. I'd almost given up, but it's great that you're here. I need ten tickets, hurry up! Help me figure something out. I need them a little later tonight. Oh, and remember to call them later, make sure they're thrilled, hehehe."
"Oh, and there's more... ﹏﹏"
My mom and older sister got really excited and started showering our master with attention, completely forgetting about me.
Success! Hehe! I squinted my eyes smugly and sat to the side, watching the show with a grin.
My master, already trapped in his clutches, gripped my clothes tightly with one hand, "Little Yan'er..."
"Hehe, of course. Mom and sister, you and my master must have a lot to talk about. Aren't you going to the living room? Go on, go on! You must be tired after coming back from so far. It's better to sit down and chat, hehe." I ignored my master's pleading look and smiled considerately at my mom and sister.
