Dragon Girl New Chapter - Chapter 22

Chapter 22

“How would I know? Actually, no one saw Zhang Zhengqiu commit the crime. He went to confess himself, but they couldn’t find the body. He said he threw the body into the Qiantang River. But the water police searched for many days and couldn’t find the body!”

"Perhaps the body has already been washed into the sea and will never be found again. Perhaps, perhaps Long Xuechen never died at all!"

He stood up and walked out of the movie theater.

The weather has turned cold again, and it's gloomy. I wonder if it will snow.

He ate a bowl of pork chop noodles at a small stall at the entrance of the alley. He had always been reluctant to eat it, as he usually only ate plain noodles.

After returning home, he lay in bed, unable to fall asleep with his eyes closed. The idle chatter of the woman next door, gossiping about this and that, blatantly drifted into his ears. He pulled the blanket over his head, but felt like he couldn't breathe.

Finally, night fell deep and the surroundings became quiet. He sat up. Without moonlight, he felt afraid. He thought he was too old and no longer belonged here.

As dawn approached, he put on the suit he had just bought, carefully shaved his face clean with a razor blade, and decided to leave. After thinking about it all night, this was his conclusion.

He decided to leave. Before leaving, he stood on a chair and used a blade to carve the three characters "Zhang Zhengqiu" into the roof beam. The carving was poor, somewhat crooked, because his hand was truly weak. But as long as it was recognizable, at least people would know that he was Zhang Zhengqiu.

Then he tore off a bed sheet, threaded it through the beam, and tied a knot next to the three characters "Zhang Zhengqiu". He tested the knot with his hand and found it to be very secure and would not break halfway through.

He looked around. His few belongings had been neatly packed into a small leather suitcase. Apart from those things, everything else belonged to the landlord. He didn't need them; in fact, he didn't need anything anymore.

He stuck his head into the slipknot, and the past flashed before his eyes like a movie. He remembered a long, long time ago, when Naga said to Jingyangzi, "Let's elope!"

A smile played on his lips. Kicking away the chair he was standing on, he floated in the air, a position from which he could see things he wouldn't normally be able to. The first rays of sunlight from the east shone like shattered gold onto his feet, and he thought he had finally found the path he should be on!

Naga, let's elope!
