Chapter 19

The newcomer, unable to bear it any longer, stormed back: "You let me leave one minute and then let me come back the next! Do I look like I have a good temper?!"

Wen Zheng paused for a moment.

A masked face was right in front of me.

You could almost feel the newcomer's surging anger.

"Hmm." Wen Zheng coldly handed him the bulletproof vest: "Put this on. You just killed someone, consider this payment."

The newcomer looked incredulously at the tan bulletproof vest, then at Wen Zheng, his gaze darting back and forth between them several times before he angrily exclaimed, "You made me wear such ugly clothes?!"

"……What?"

"These clothes are so ugly!" The newcomer pointed at the bulletproof vest: "I'm not wearing them!"

Wen Zheng, feeling dizzy and disoriented, roared, "What do you know?!"

The newcomer glared at him: "What are you yelling about?!"

Gunshots rang out suddenly, and the two men quickly turned around, instinctively standing back to back. Wen Zheng held up his pistol: "That's protective gear! Like this, if someone snips you, you'll be dead!"

The newcomer, holding a crossbow, swooped down at a swaying white figure peeking out in the distance: "I won't wear it! It's too ugly!"

Wen Zheng's burst of bullets also killed one person: "Where is it ugly!"

Swoosh swoosh swoosh: "Ugly!"

Bang bang bang: "Not ugly!"

The last ambusher turned into a white light. Wen Zheng felt like he had lost his mind. It was as if his brain had stopped working when he encountered this person. He was arguing with an idiot about whether a piece of clothing was ugly or not.

"...Fine, wear whatever you want, I don't care anymore."

The newcomer gritted his teeth, as if afraid he would yell "Get out!" again, and blurted out before he could finish: "Get out!"

Wen Zheng: "..."

Before the two could figure out what was going on, the ground suddenly shook violently.

Time's up, the circle is about to shrink and collapse!

Wen Zheng steadied himself, quickly unfolded the map, and saw a flashing red circle: "This way!"

He turned and ran a few dozen meters, then looked back and saw the newlyweds still standing there. Wen Zhengqi was furious: "What are you standing there for?! Run with me!"

The newcomer finally moved, catching up a dozen seconds later and following behind Wen Zheng.

They were both unlucky.

The forest was right on the outermost edge of the island. In order to get into a safe area, I ran for two minutes and the ground behind me was still collapsing.

"Over there! A motorcycle!" Wen Zheng spotted the vehicle and ran towards it, but stumbled over a rock just before reaching it, allowing the newcomer to get ahead. The newcomer hopped on, and Wen Zheng jumped onto the back seat, yelling, "Drive!"

The new driver, unsure of where to press, shouted impatiently, "Left accelerator, right brake! Step on the left!"

The motorcycle roared off, soaring into the air on an uphill slope before crashing back to the ground. Wen Zheng felt like his insides were about to jump out of his throat, and instinctively clung tightly to the newcomer's waist. The wind howled as the two sped along the dusty dirt road. The newcomer seemed to have found the knack for riding a motorcycle, and they went faster and faster.

"Slow down!" Wen Zheng shouted into his ear, "You're going to crash!"

The newcomer ignored him. Driving too fast, a metal road sign ahead suddenly loomed large in his field of vision. The newcomer casually swerved the car, sparks flying from the tires as he smoothly passed it.

Wen Zheng's heart pounded, and he was speechless for a moment. Bai Shuang was right; adrenaline is what keeps people alive. The newlywed's long hair flew wildly, and the stimulating acceleration made him more and more excited as he drove.

"Ah————" the newcomer shouted.

"Damn it!" Wen Zheng shouted as well.

Then, the next second, the tires burst and the car came to a stop, and the two men, caught up in their triumph, were thrown off.

"..." After a while, Wen Zheng got up from the cement road, glanced at the health bar that had been reduced by the fall, and questioned his life for a moment.

"I only know you're a newbie because I can see you're a beginner," he concluded. "Otherwise, I would have already smashed your dog's head in."

The newcomer stood up, straightened his hair, and sneered, "Arrogant! Nobody has ever dared to call my head a dog's head!"

Wen Zheng: ? ? ?

The tire blew out, and they couldn't drive anymore. Wen Zheng opened the electronic map and saw that the two of them had driven a long way like idiots, perfectly deviating from the place he originally wanted to go.

Fortunately, there's a gas station nearby, so there's a good chance they have new vehicles. It's worth trying your luck.

Wen Zheng put away the map and naturally walked in that direction. Noticing that the newcomer hadn't followed, he turned around in surprise and said, "Come on!"

The newcomer paused for a moment before walking forward side by side with him.

"What was that just now?" the newcomer asked, pretending not to care.

Wen Zheng: "You don't recognize a motorcycle?"

With automated driving nowadays, Jeeps and motorcycles have disappeared from ordinary roads, and it's not impossible for people not to recognize them.

Wen Zheng guessed that although this person was tall, he was probably not very old and was still in the stage of being full of curiosity about the world, so he gave him a brief introduction to the differences between the various vehicles.

After listening to the surrounding sounds, we arrived at the gas station.

Wen Zheng hid behind cover and fired his gun at the entrance to make sure no one was there before climbing over the fence and going inside.

There was a small convenience store at the gas station. Wen Zheng kicked open the rusty iron door and went inside to search. The newcomer, not wanting to go into such a dirty place, put his hands in his pockets and followed Wen Zheng, watching him rummage through various colorful packaging bags.

Having shared a friendly encounter while racing, Wen Zheng's attitude softened: "What's your ID? I can't keep calling you 'Hey' all the time."

"ID?"

Seeing that he really didn't understand, Wen Zheng paused and asked, "It's just a name?"

The newcomer thought for a moment and said, "Your Majesty."

"……What?"

"Your Majesty!"

What kind of weird name is this? Wen Zheng silently swallowed the 108 complaints in his mouth and said, "Call me Z."

"Thief?" the newcomer said disdainfully. "Why call a perfectly normal person a thief?"

Wen Zheng: "…………"

I have a really good temper.

Wen Zheng thought silently.

From now on, I'll call you Xiao Wang.

Author's Note: Big Black: He's going to yell at me again, so I'll yell "Get lost!" first!

Zhengzheng: ? ? ?

(This silly author sends a heart emoji to everyone!)

Chapter 14

Wen Zheng squatted down and touched the shelves, moving from one shelf to another at an extremely fast pace.

The man who called himself the king had an X-ray-like gaze, constantly scanning Wen Zheng's hand.

"What is this?" he finally couldn't help but ask.

"...Chocolate?"

Although Wen Zheng had never heard of this brand before, perhaps it was from decades ago, most people would recognize it. Besides, the three large characters for "chocolate" were prominently displayed on the price tag.

"Have one?" Wen Zheng casually handed him one, then tossed aside all the other goods behind him with a clatter.

The things spilled onto the ground, and the king took a step back.

"Don't get in the way. If you don't want to look, just stand guard at the door. The guide says this kind of place might have trackers or button bombs. I'll look for them."

The king took a few steps back.

Wen Zheng searched through two shelves, but found nothing. Frustrated, he kicked the shelves.

"By the way, you need to turn on the taste simulation on your device." He continued working, "I meant if you want to eat chocolate."

"Most mainstream devices can run it now, but if your configuration is too low, it won't work. If you haven't tried it, you can give it a shot."

The man in black standing at the door twirled the chocolate in his hand several times.

The front was painted with a colorful rainbow, and the entire wrapper was red; it made a rustling sound when poked. He found the serrated edge, tore it open, and the dark brown chocolate was revealed.

He subconsciously sniffed it and then stuck out the tip of his tongue to lick it.

...Sweet.

The man's gaze was fixed on "Z," who was lying on the ground holding a flashlight and shining it at the bottom of the shelf.

"Are all humans this hypocritical?" He held the chocolate, not taking a second lick. The heat from his body caused the chocolate to melt slightly through the wrapper, leaving a subtly sticky residue.

Wen Zheng didn't hear clearly, choked by the dust, and coughed a few times: "What?"

“I said,” the man tightened his grip on his fingers, “you’re a hypocrite.”

Wen Zheng paused, then jumped up, dusted himself off, and looked at him with a gloomy expression.

The man said to himself, "You hate me, don't you? You're always so impatient with me. Why force yourself?"

"Where am I being impatient?" Wen Zheng felt a surge of anger rising in his chest.

"See, you're getting impatient now."

Even when wearing a mask, a man who calls himself a king looks like a painting.

His extraordinary reflexes, astonishing skills, and otherworldly curiosity imbue him with an air of mystery. But as captivating as this is, his personality, or rather, his mouth, is equally detestable.

The slight positive impression I had while riding the motorcycle quickly vanished.

Wen Zheng thought incredulously, "How can there be such an annoying person in the world?"

"Can't you speak?" Wen Zheng calmly pulled a dagger from his back and pointed it at him: "If you can't speak, big brother will teach you."

"Did I say something wrong?" The man still wouldn't shut up, a subtle and elusive hatred flickering in his shadowy eyes. "You clearly hate me, yet you've approached me time and time again. You saved me, taught me to drive, and even gave me food. What are you trying to get out of me?"

Wen Zheng walked towards him expressionlessly and continued, "No matter what you want from me, your acting is terrible. I could tell you were impatient and didn't want to take me with you. Humans are all like that, full of lies—"

The photon dagger, emitting a blue glow, was held against the man's neck, finally silencing the irritating noise.
