Chapter 15

The exterior walls of the nursing home's main building are not white, but a rich and refreshing light green, giving people a vibrant feeling.

When Ni Jingxi first came here to investigate, the other party explained to her that they did not want the elderly to be in a state of waiting to die, but rather to be able to face life happily.

Ni Jingxi carried her things to her grandmother's room, only to find that her grandmother was not there.

She was a little surprised because her grandmother usually knew she would come over on Friday nights and would stay in the room to wait for her instead of wandering around.

Ni Jingxi wasn't in a hurry, guessing that her grandmother was probably in the activity room.

So she carried the snacks and walked towards the activity room.

The activity room not only has a television, but also a chess and card room and other entertainment facilities, making it convenient for the elderly to pass their leisure time. When Ni Jingxi arrived, the door to the activity room was open.

So much so that she immediately spotted a group of elderly people gathered around, and Huo Shenyan, who was quietly peeling an orange next to his grandmother's wheelchair.

He sat in the chair with his head down, holding an orange in his long, slender fingers. The peel was freshly removed, and he carefully picked off the white pith one by one.

After peeling it, he smiled and handed it to his grandmother, who was talking.

It was a perfectly ordinary scene, but Ni Jingxi suddenly turned her head away from the doorway.

My eyes were wet.

She tried desperately to suppress the tears welling up in her throat, but she still felt an overwhelming urge to cry.

Ni Jingxi was never a sentimental person, but when she saw Huo Shenyan sitting quietly beside her grandmother, she felt from the bottom of her heart that she had never been wrong in loving this man.

"Is that your granddaughter?" It was a sharp-eyed grandmother who noticed her first.

Grandma turned around and looked over, smiling as she called out, "Xingxing, come quickly, come quickly!"

Ni Jingxi composed herself again, picked up Tianxin and walked over, smiling as she said, "Grandma."

As soon as she walked up to the group of people, the old ladies started talking non-stop.

"Xiao Ni, your husband is so good. He came early to talk to your grandma and brought us so many delicious things."

"I think these are all secondary. Look at how good-looking he is, how handsome he is."

“I heard from your grandmother that he works for a big company.”

Hearing them praising Huo Shenyan repeatedly, Ni Jingxi couldn't help but look over and ask softly, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"Knowing you'd be coming today, I didn't say anything," Huo Shenyan said with a faint smile.

Grandma spoke up, saying, "I told Shenyan a long time ago that he was too busy with work to come, but he came and brought so much stuff."

At this moment, Ni Jingxi noticed that there were many pastry boxes on the table in the activity room, but there was not much left inside.

Ni Jingxi looked at her grandmother with a surprised expression and said, "Grandma, you ate quite a lot too?"

Seeing that his grandmother was speechless, Huo Shenyan immediately spoke up: "These snacks were specially made by me. They are low in sugar, so it's okay to eat a few more."

"Right? You see, my grandson-in-law is the most thoughtful."

Grandma immediately beamed with joy, completely losing the feeling she had just had after being caught doing something wrong.

Ni Jingxi: "..."

So Ni Jingxi brought the bag up to her and said helplessly, "It seems Grandma can't eat this."

The old lady's eyes lit up when she saw that it was her favorite time-honored pastry shop. Ni Jingxi's sweet tooth was probably inherited from there.

So the pastries she brought were indeed divided up in no time.

Ni Jingxi looked at Huo Shenyan, who had been sitting next to her, and asked him in a low voice, "Have you eaten?"

"Not yet, we'll go back and have dinner together later," Huo Shenyan said softly to her.

The elderly people chatted and ate until someone asked, "When are you planning to have children?"

This question left not only Ni Jingxi stunned, but even Huo Shenyan's face froze for a moment, clearly stumped by the question.

The elderly people were already very interested in things like marriage and having children. Now that they know they've been married for a year, without the grandmother even having to hint at it, they immediately transform into little experts at urging them to have children.

They couldn't wait to push them into the bridal chamber right now.

Ni Jingxi quickly made an excuse to go to the restroom, but when she came back, Huo Shenyan wasn't there, so she knew he had gone out to make a phone call. She grabbed her bag and hurried out again.

Huo Shenyan had just hung up the phone and hadn't even turned around when his sleeve was grabbed.

When he caught a glimpse of the person pulling him out of the corner of his eye, he immediately stopped his planned attempt to shake her off and obediently let her pull him outside until they reached a stone bench in a corner of the garden.

Night had fallen, but fortunately there were streetlights in the garden, not far from the stone benches where they were sitting.

After Ni Jingxi pulled him down to sit, Huo Shenyan looked at her and chuckled, "What's all the mystery about?"

Not only did she take him to the small garden, but she also specifically found this corner.

It wasn't until Ni Jingxi took out a delicate little box from her bag that she smiled and said, "I specially asked someone to queue up to buy this."

Huo Shenyan was slightly taken aback until she opened the small box, revealing the pastries inside.

Huo Shenyan was clearly a little surprised, and gently raised his eyes to look at her, asking, "Why did you buy this?"

Ni Jingxi sensed a hint of surprise in his voice and couldn't help but say, "I asked Aunt Zhou, and she said you like it."

Huo Shenyan looked down at the delicate pastries in front of him, a slight smile appearing on his lips. His dark eyes, slightly upturned at the corners, seemed to be filled with water, and even his smile was filled with tender and deep affection.

Seeing that he chuckled but didn't speak, Ni Jingxi turned to him and said softly, "Everyone has eaten, except you, so eat a little here, and then we'll go inside."

Huo Shenyan was taken aback, finding her appearance excessively adorable.

But then he asked, "Why did you think of asking Aunt Zhou about this?"

Ni Jingxi looked at him and said with a light smile, "Because I want to know what you like and dislike."

They met so suddenly and got together so quickly that she didn't even know what he liked or disliked. He seemed indifferent to everything and didn't have any particular preferences.

So Ni Jingxi took advantage of her only opportunity to go to the mansion to ask Huo Shenyan what he liked.

The aunt was initially hesitant and reluctant to speak, but after several soft pleadings, she finally revealed some of her favorite things, including this dessert shop.

Even Ni Jingxi didn't expect that such a cold person would have a sweet tooth.

Seeing that he hadn't eaten, Ni Jingxi suddenly turned her head and chuckled, "If you think eating this in front of me will affect your image as a CEO, I'll close my eyes."

Actually, Ni Jingxi was just joking.

To everyone's surprise, the man next to me said seriously, "Well, then you can close your eyes for a while."

Ni Jingxi: "..."

A promise is a promise, so just close your eyes and be done with it. Ni Jingxi felt she was being really silly for trying to tease him, only to be outmaneuvered in the end.

As she was thinking this, something soft suddenly pressed against her lips.

Huo Shenyan: "Open your mouth."

Ni Jingxi obediently opened her mouth, and the soft and sweet cake seemed to melt the moment it entered her mouth. The faint fragrance of the man beside her wafted into her nose.

On a cool night, she gently closed her eyes; the lack of sight, ironically, made her other senses even more acute.

After Ni Jingxi swallowed the cake and sat quietly, the person next to her spoke again: "Want another bite?"

She was about to say no, but before she could open her mouth, something pressed down on her lips. Then his tongue gently parted her lips, their lips and teeth intertwining and licking, their warm breaths mingling, as if to ignite the cool night.

After what seemed like an eternity, she was finally gently released.

Ni Jingxi was truly obedient; she hadn't opened her eyes until this moment, but she had already heard his deep voice: "Is the cake sweeter, or am I sweeter?"

Author's Note: Did you think the stunning looks in the last chapter were enough to seduce you?

No, he can be even more seductive.

Chapter 14

The moment the door was pushed open, Ni Jingxi was bending down to change her shoes; they had just returned from the nursing home. But as soon as she took off one shoe, her waist was embraced from behind.

His breath then gently sprayed against her neck.

Because we had just entered the house, the porch light wasn't even on yet; only a faint light shone from the entryway.

Their breathing became erratic for a moment, and Ni Jingxi seemed to struggle to find her voice as she spoke: "Professor Liu said about your body..."

"I'm just having an allergic reaction, it's not like I'm crippled." He chuckled, his cool and aloof voice stirring a tremor in the darkness.

Ni Jingxi simply turned around and hugged her. It was too dark around her to see clearly, but she found his lips by feeling and kissed him on tiptoe.

I can't see his face or his appearance.

But she knew his lips were thin and beautifully shaped.

At that moment, she gently hooked her arm around Huo Shenyan's neck, kicked off her shoe with her other foot, and stood barefoot on the floor. Huo Shenyan was also responding to her; he placed his hand on the back of her head, quickly took off his own shoe, and pulled her forward by the waist.

This house was Huo Shenyan's residence before his marriage, and Ni Jingxi had also stayed here a few times before.

This was the longest she had ever stayed, to the point that she had almost figured out the layout of the bedroom, not to mention that he was with her.

But their kisses in the living room had already ignited a fire in each other, and the little flame in their hearts was also being constantly stirred up, growing hotter and hotter with each other's movements.

"Star." Huo Shenyan whispered her name in her ear.

Ni Jingxi's mind was as if a fuse had been lit, and with a bang, it was blown to pieces, leaving only the man in front of her in her heart and eyes.

She reached out and lifted his shirt, then casually touched his waistline.

The belt on his pants was still fastened properly, and her fingers moved upwards, almost as if playing with fire, stroking his back.

The room was too quiet, and the soundproofing was so good that the loudest sound in her world was his heavy breathing, which he couldn't help when he was aroused.

His scent, as always, was faint yet slightly cool, seeping into her nose little by little, as if trying to entice her to completely lose her mind.

...

Her breathing grew heavier, and finally her calves tensed up so tightly that even her toes couldn't help but curl up and relax, repeating this cycle over and over again.

He pressed down on her, his hands bracing against her sides. Both of them were soaked in sweat, layer upon layer of thin sweat.

Soft moans, some suppressed, some barely suppressed, echoed between the bed. Though the night was deep, a thin gap seemed to be peeking through the thick curtains by the window. The silver moon on the horizon cast a pale, snowy glow, its light filtering in and casting dappled shadows on the floor.

Finally, all was calm.

But after the tranquility came a more direct realization: only he could bring her such joy.
