Chapter 10

Having witnessed this young lady's extravagant lifestyle, Gu Kaiyang couldn't help but comment with a hint of envy—"Waaah, money really can buy anything!"

Gu Kaiyang arrived in Paris with the magazine team. As the newly appointed deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine, she had a lot of things to decide and could not act alone.

After the Haute Couture Week event, they still had some reshoots planned and needed to stay an extra day. After all, the group's image of being stingy never collapses, and it would seem like they lost a hundred million if they didn't get enough shots during their trip to Paris.

Ji Mingshu originally planned to take Gu Kaiyang on a private jet back home for a luxurious trip, but Gu Kaiyang couldn't leave, and the plane was due for maintenance anyway, so she simply let the plane go for maintenance and stayed in Paris for an extra day to wait for Gu Kaiyang to return to China together.

Although they were going back to China together, Gu Kaiyang had to work with his colleagues on the plane, so he didn't get an upgrade.

As luck would have it, Ji Mingshu and Jiang Chun bumped into each other again in first class.

Jiang Chun looked much thinner than a few days ago; her once round chin was now just a pointed tip. She didn't seem to care about her appearance, wearing a t-shirt and long jeans. Although she looked a bit haggard, her bare face gave her a pitiful look.

Ji Mingshu pulled his sunglasses down a bit and was a little surprised when he saw Jiang Chun's small face clearly.

She had noticed Jiang Chun's good features before, but this was the first time she'd seen her without makeup. Turns out, her name wasn't a mistake; she's a classic, pure and beautiful young woman!

Ji Mingshu has always been fond of beautiful women. He usually ignores Jiang Chun, who is aloof and indifferent. But this time, he humbled himself and took the initiative to tease her, saying, "Miss Jiang seems to be still recovering from heartbreak."

Jiang Chun: "..."

Upon seeing Ji Mingshu, Jiang Chun was not as quick to switch into a fighting spirit as she usually is; nor did she bite Ji Mingshu without thinking, just like she did in the hotel lobby last time.

She leaned back in her chair, radiating a mysterious sense of despondency that seemed to say, "Okay, this abandoned woman can be humiliated however she wants."

A flight attendant came over to serve the drinks, and Ji Mingshu slightly gestured with his chin toward Jiang Chun, "Could you please bring this lady a meal and a Midsunmmer Breeze? Thank you."

Jiang Chun remained seated without reacting.

The flight attendant glanced at her, then at Ji Mingshu, unsure whether to respond.

Ji Mingshu smiled, "We know each other, let's go."

The flight attendant was slightly taken aback, feeling her heart suddenly race.

She's just too beautiful! That smile completely redefined the words "bright eyes and white teeth" and "radiant beauty"!

After calmly leaving, the flight attendant asked her colleague in the catering room: Was that beautiful woman in first class some kind of celebrity? Why didn't he recognize her? Was it because she wasn't famous? But how could someone so beautiful not be famous?

Before long, the meals that Ji Mingshu had ordered for Jiang Chun were all served.

The flight attendant also served Ji Mingshu a small pastry, saying it was for her to try the new product.

Ji Mingshu obliged and took a bite.

Jiang Chun, however, seemed listless, as if she had no intention of eating.

Ji Mingshu didn't pay much attention; she didn't live in the Pacific Ocean, so she didn't care whether she ate or not.

All was quiet. Jiang Chun gazed out the window, looking like a melancholy Jiang Daiyu.

After finishing her snacks, Ji Mingshu flipped through a magazine.

She had already read all the magazines prepared on the plane, the only one she hadn't read was "Zero Degree" produced by Gu Kaiyang and his team. "Zero Degree" was a men's magazine, and she wasn't some virtuous wife who took care of her husband's clothing, so why would she read it?

She covered her mouth and yawned, put on her eye mask, and prepared to sleep.

The sky outside the window is bright blue, and the clouds below look like large, sticky cotton candy. The light is thin and warm, and the golden rays of the sun can be faintly seen in the distance.

After a long while without hearing the sound of pages turning, Jiang Chun glanced at Ji Mingshu out of the corner of her eye and noticed that Ji Mingshu had put on an eye mask and was resting. On a whim, she glanced at the food and wine and subconsciously licked her lips.

She hadn't eaten properly for three or four days. It would have been fine if there was no food available, but when food was right in front of her, her attention was drawn to the aroma, and her depressed mood dissipated considerably.

She picked up the sandwich very gently and glanced at Ji Mingshu again.

Although Ji Mingshu didn't move, he didn't sleep very soundly.

For some reason, she dreamed of Jiang Chun catching Yan in the act of adultery, except that the people in the dream were replaced by her and Cen Sen.

In the dream, Cen Sen was even more ruthless than Yan Zha. He grabbed her wrist and pushed her away, watching her fall to the ground without even giving her a second glance.

A group of her "plastic besties" were watching her make a fool of herself. One of them mocked her, saying, "Tell her to be patient and serve the mistress well from now on, or Cen Sen will kick her out."

Ji Mingshu was so angry that he woke up.

She ripped off her blindfold, drank most of a glass of water in one gulp, trying to calm herself down and remind herself that it was just a dream; at the same time, she couldn't help but curse Cen Sen, that bastard, for not letting her have any peace even in her dreams.

She put down her water glass and glanced over unintentionally, only to find Jiang Chun secretly eating a sandwich.

Perhaps driven mad by hunger, Jiang Chun took a huge bite. Before she could swallow, she was startled by Ji Mingshu's sudden action and choked, the sandwich stuck in her throat. She covered her mouth and coughed violently.

Ji Mingshu watched as Jiang Chun coughed until her face turned red, searching for tissues while swallowing her drink, and then suddenly burst out laughing.

Jiang Chun bristled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, yelling, "What are you laughing at? It's just eating something! Cough! Cough cough cough!!!"

Ji Mingshu's mood inexplicably improved. She rested her chin on her hand, looked at Jiang Chun, and asked, "Don't you think you're kind of cute?"

"..."

Jiang Chun looked at her with the eyes of someone who was crazy.

Ji Mingshu racked his brains for an analogy, "It's like a penguin that has never left Antarctica, but suddenly becomes unafraid of the cold and can live in the subtropics... but is still clumsy?"

Are there penguins like that?

Jiang Chun paused for two seconds, then finally realized, "You mean to say I'm unsophisticated?"

"No, it's Tomoe."

Jiang Chun: "..."

Thank you so much for your kind words.

She rolled her eyes in annoyance, sat up straight, and started eating with an air of self-righteousness.

It takes eleven hours to get from Paris to the Fédérale, and Ji Mingshu was so bored that he would occasionally try to amuse himself by picking on Jiang Chun.

At first, Jiang Chun really didn't want to talk to Ji Mingshu, but the sadness she had been holding back had long since dissipated. Seeing that Ji Mingshu was watching a variety show that she was also watching, she unconsciously joined in on Ji Mingshu's conversation.

"I think Pei Xiyan is quite handsome."

“I think so too,” Jiang Chun couldn’t help but agree. “He’s handsome and has a great personality; he’ll definitely be amazing when he grows up.”

"High emotional intelligence as well."

Jiang Chun nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, I even watched the variety shows he did with his mom when he was little. Actually, I don't really like his mom, but he was so cute and cool when he was little."

"Yeah, I think so too."

"Ladies and gentlemen, this flight is scheduled to arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport in fifteen minutes. The ground temperature is 36°C. Ladies and gentlemen..."

As they were about to disembark, Jiang Chun's face had completely lost the dejection she had shown when she boarded the plane. She was radiant and her eyes were sparkling with hearts. She even stopped Ji Mingshu from speeding up the video, saying that her baby's divine looks had to be appreciated frame by frame.

Ji Mingshu was speechless, so he simply threw the tablet into her arms.

Ji Mingshu's luggage was shipped back to China a day in advance, and he only carried a small carry-on suitcase with him.

After getting off the plane, she wanted to meet with Gu Kaiyang, but Gu Kaiyang's magazine had an emergency and he had to rush back for a meeting. So she and Jiang Chun, out of kindness, walked along the airport duty-free shop, explaining things to everyone as they went.

Jiang Chun had never known there were so many intricacies involved in choosing things. At first, she walked alongside Ji Mingshu, listening as they went. Later, she didn't know how, but she suddenly became Ji Mingshu's luggage pusher. She proactively found a trolley, put both of their suitcases on it, and single-handedly pushed it forward.

Upon reaching the exit, the airport crowd gradually thickened.

Ji Mingshu was still analyzing why a certain bag was a classic when her voice suddenly stopped and her steps slowed down.

Jiang Chun asked in a very naive and innocent way, "What's wrong?"

Ji Mingshu pressed his stomach, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Does your stomach hurt?" Jiang Chun looked around and pointed in one direction, saying, "There's a restroom over there."

Sweat beaded on Ji Mingshu's forehead as he hurried toward the restroom with difficulty.

She was wearing very high heels, and after walking so fast, her heels felt burning and numb.

As Ji Mingshu entered the restroom, everything went black.

Jiang Chun, who had followed, exclaimed in a low voice, "Why are there so many people!"

There were at least seven or eight people ahead of me in line, and this was probably the smallest toilet in the airport, with only four stalls, one of which was accessible.

After waiting for two minutes, the team made no progress.

Jiang Chun originally intended to ask Ji Mingshu if they should look elsewhere, but seeing Ji Mingshu's utterly hopeless and miserable expression, she glanced at him and blurted out a terrible idea, "Why don't we go here? There's no one here anyway."

She pointed to the men's restroom next to her.

Ji Mingshu had a look on his face that said, "Are you crazy?"

But Jiang Chun was particularly attentive, and even ran inside to help scout around, saying, "There really is no one here, I'll keep watch at the door for you."

Ji Mingshu felt that his brain might have short-circuited, and upon hearing Jiang Chun's words, he felt a slight wavering deep inside.

As waves of sharp pain surged through her abdomen, the tremors intensified.

Finally, she couldn't hold back any longer. With difficulty, she put on her sunglasses and said to Jiang Chun in a low voice, "Keep an eye on things for me. Contact me on WeChat."

Jiang Chun nodded solemnly, as if he had received an important mission.

Three minutes later, Ji Mingshu finally realized what a stupid thing she had done.

Jiang Chun: [We can't come out now; a man has gone in.]

Five minutes later.

Jiang Chun: [Oh no, a tour group is coming. Wait a bit longer, and whatever you do, don't make a sound.]

Ji Mingshu: [...]

I really believed your lies.

Just as Jiang Chun's tip-off arrived, a group of men burst in from outside, and awkward sounds rose and fell around the urinal. One man even stopped outside her door and banged on it violently, asking, "Brother, are you constipated? Did you fall into the latrine while you were taking so long?"

"..."

The cubicle was cramped and smelly, and Ji Mingshu's face was stained red from behind her ears to her neck.

She silently closed her eyes, momentarily unable to recall what she had done wrong to end up in this miserable situation, trapped in the men's restroom and afraid to make a sound.

Moreover, her mind went blank, and she didn't know what to do to get out of this incredibly awkward situation.

The most tragic thing was that five minutes later, her legs went numb from squatting, and her phone automatically shut down, which meant that she had unexpectedly lost contact with the intelligence officer outside the door.

Before losing contact, the last message from the intelligence officer was—"Why don't you just rush out? Nobody knows you anyway."

joke!

Ji Mingshu has enjoyed a glorious life for over twenty years, always believing that she can go without food but never lose face!
