Chapter 258 Ancient One: Dormammu, I'm not here to negotiate, I'm here to beat you up (Third update)
The battle has begun.
Dormammu manipulated the entire dark dimension, unleashing a variety of attacks.
The Ancient One remained calm. Her manipulation of space was masterful, effortlessly deflecting all the incoming attacks. And each of her strikes hit the vital points of her opponent.
Of course, if that were all there was to it, then in the end... the Ancient One would inevitably be the one to retreat from the Dark Dimension.
This is ultimately Dormammu's world. Dormammu enjoys the support of the entire world here, making him inherently invincible.
But this time, the Ancient One had a new way of dealing with it.
At certain intervals, the Time Gem is activated, instantly reversing the flow of time back to the beginning.
After a few attempts, Dormammu finally realized what was happening, his expression turning extremely grim. "Ancient One... have you gone mad? Didn't you always hate playing with time? You've touched your own greatest taboo!"
“All of this is necessary to deal with you.” The Ancient One’s voice was as calm as ever. “Most importantly, I have already transcended the original timeline… Now, I am no longer burdened by shackles and self-imposed limitations as before.”
"You," Dormammu's expression shifted several times as he looked the Ancient One up and down, his voice filled with apprehension and doubt, "who exactly have you allied yourself with... one of the highest-ranking gods in the multiverse?"
"I'm afraid not." The Ancient One's gaze was profound. Those gods who symbolized the fundamental rules of the multiverse were so famous that she naturally knew them.
However, after gathering some information in the council, the Ancient One determined that... they were far inferior to the council chairman.
No matter how powerful the supreme deity of the universe may be, they are still ultimately beings within the universe. Compared to the council chairman, who transcends all heavens and is suspected to be the origin of all worlds... they are far inferior.
Not to mention, Tony Stark once told her about the demons of the A Certain Magical Index world. If they wanted, they could manipulate the entire universe at will.
This might be an existence from another universe, similar to the supreme god of their world.
But even so, what difference does it make? The Speaker of Parliament still casually pulled it out of the long river of time, revealing a true illusion.
Dormammu remained silent for a long, long time before his attitude finally softened, and he spoke in a low voice, "What conditions do you want to discuss?"
“You stop invading Earth… and then I can use the energy of the Dark Dimension at any time,” the Ancient One said succinctly.
"Are you insane? This is impossible!" Dormammu roared in fury.
He stopped invading Earth, which was fine; after all, while he coveted Earth, he had no compelling reason to possess it. In fact, part of his attack on Earth was to retaliate against Master Fuyi's years-long standoff with him…
But the Ancient One's condition... that she could use any dark energy she wanted? What did she take him for?
Before Dormammu could argue again, time continued to flow backward, returning to the beginning.
The Ancient One wore her usual gentle smile as she said softly, "Dormammu, I'm here to negotiate with you."
Dormammu was nearly driven mad. He desperately attacked the Ancient One, but all he got in return was time reversal time and time again. He also realized that even without the Time Stone, he might not be able to outlast the Ancient One.
The Ancient One draws upon the energy of her world at will, completely disregarding the mind-corroding factors inherent in that energy. Recalling her earlier statement about not being one of the supreme gods… now it seems that it was clearly an attitude of slight condescension.
Due to a combination of factors... and after several time rewinds, Dormammu was forced to sign an agreement with the Ancient One.
...
The fantasy of reality has come to an end.
The Council of the Mist was silent, and many people turned to stare at the Ancient One, their expressions becoming strange.
"Wow, amazing, sorcerer." Tony Stark applauded sincerely. Although he knew before that the Ancient One had defeated Dormammu, it was only through a brief mention. Now that the real illusion had been recreated, he finally understood what had happened.
“The truly powerful one… is the Speaker of the Council,” the Ancient One said softly.
Neither she nor Dormammu could be considered weak. Yet their battle scene was so easily captured… she didn't even sense anything amiss. This gave an idea of the gap between them… a gap between different dimensions, different realms.
"I only have one question on my mind." The Drunken Sword Immortal subconsciously touched the wine gourd at his waist, but then remembered that this was the council, and used great willpower to suppress his urge to drink. He sighed and changed the subject.
"Sorcerer Supreme, you made Dormammu sign an unequal treaty... that allows him to freely extract darkness... Under these circumstances, your power is about to increase by leaps and bounds, isn't it?"
“On the surface, that’s how it seems,” the Ancient One nodded, then added, “but I still need to be wary… Dormammu has the potential to break the agreement.”
"So you're not going to die?" Tony Stark suddenly perked up.
“Yes,” the Ancient One said with some emotion, “after all, it was me who signed the agreement. If it were someone else… Dormammu wouldn’t be as obedient as he is now. Whether it’s out of revenge against me, or out of your greed for Earth.”
"That's good, that's good." Tony Stark was completely relieved. Even though he had been vaguely certain before, it was only now that the Ancient One had given him a definite answer that he wouldn't be sent to his death.
“We’re almost at Earth,” Boros said, his gaze deep. “Garou, and the rumored Blast… the Monster Association. Looks like my future life won’t be lonely.”
"And from today onwards, your life will no longer be in your own control," Tang Hao blurted out abruptly. After all, once on Earth, Boros might run into Saitama, who was out fighting crime, while strolling the streets.
The moment you encounter the bald man... your life is no longer in your own hands. After all, you are ultimately a non-human being. It's highly likely that Saitama mistook you for a monster and punched you.
"Don't worry," Boros said calmly, "I'll land the spaceship on the moon."
Everyone was speechless, exchanging bewildered glances. It was indeed highly unlikely that Saitama would leave Earth for the moon… after all, he couldn't even breathe in outer space.
"Then," Tang Hao turned his gaze to the Drunken Sword Immortal, his tone becoming enigmatic, "Mr. Drunken Sword Immortal, what is the situation with you, your wife, and your daughter?"
Tang Hao actually disapproved of the Sword Immortal, who abandoned his wife and daughter.
However, considering that the Sword Immortal didn't know he had a daughter before... the two sides could still get along, albeit reluctantly.
