A tall, slender figure appeared in the snowy landscape beneath the withered tree. Xie Wang looked at Ling Shuangjiang and walked towards him.
The two of them standing there were quite conspicuous. Ling Shuangjiang wanted to explain, but Xie Wang interrupted her.
"You made puppy cookies?"
Xie Wang walked up to him, lowered his head and smelled it, saying, "It smells so good."
Ling Shuangjiang smiled at him, completely forgetting that Lin Yili was behind her.
"Yes, they even made a big lion."
Xie Wang took his hand: "Then let's go home."
"good."
Before leaving, Xie Wang did not follow, but instead let Ling Shuangjiang go up first.
When she turned back, those warm and affectionate eyes suddenly lost their warmth.
“Hey Lin, I’m warning you and Shang Qi.”
"Don't think that just because you can cause trouble in the UK, you can also get away with it here."
"If I find out that you are disturbing Shuangjiang, I don't even know what measures I will take."
As he turned to leave, Xie Wang did not reveal the information he had gathered to Lin Yili, nor did he intend to settle accounts now.
The evidence is not yet complete; making threats now will only alert the enemy.
The snow fell heavier and heavier. Ling Shuangjiang sat in the car, looking anxiously out the window.
When he saw Xie Wang, he quickly opened the car door and stood in the snow, staring straight at Xie Wang.
Xie Wang quickened his pace.
"Why don't you go inside and wait? It's so cold outside."
Ling Shuangjiang didn't answer the question. Instead, she carefully examined him and, after confirming that he wasn't injured, said, "I was afraid you would fight with him."
Xie Wang chuckled: "Don't worry, what I did to him wasn't a fight, it was a one-sided beating."
"Nonsense." Ling Shuangjiang smiled.
After getting into the car, Xie Wang hesitated to start the engine. Holding the cookies Ling Shuangjiang had made for him in his arms, he tasted one and said, "Delicious."
Ling Shuangjiang's eyebrows relaxed: "The cookies were baked perfectly this time, not too dry or too soft, better than the previous ones."
“It’s delicious every time,” Xie Wang said.
Seeing him enjoying his cookie, Ling Shuangjiang reached out and took one as well. Gently tearing open the wrapper, she showed Xie Wang the lion pattern on the cookie, asking, "Doesn't it look like you?"
Xie Wang raised an eyebrow: "Similar, but not as imposing as me."
Ling Shuangjiang feigned surprise: "I took the wrong one, I meant this one."
Looking at the puppy-shaped biscuit, Xie Wang wasn't annoyed. "None of them are as impressive as me."
Ling Shuangjiang chewed slowly, a smile in her eyes.
"What did you just say about me to Lin Yili?"
Ling Shuangjiang's eyes flickered slightly, pretending not to understand: "What?"
Xie Wang leaned closer to him: "What were you praising me to Lin Yili just now?"
Ling Shuangjiang said with difficulty, "Let me think about it."
Xie Wang put down the biscuit and started tickling him, which made him immediately beg for mercy with his eyes crinkled up.
“I’ll say it,” Ling Shuangjiang looked at him, “My boyfriend is a good person with sound values and is devoted to his relationship. He’s not someone that ordinary people can compare to.”
"Don't use your boyfriend, use your husband."
Ling Shuangjiang gave him a slightly warning look, but still repeated herself.
At this moment, Xie Wang suddenly smiled and proudly waved his phone, playing the recording of Ling Shuangjiang's words.
Ling Shuangjiang's ears suddenly turned red, and he made a move to snatch it away. Xie Wang seized the opportunity to hook his arm around his waist and bite his ear: "What, trying to seduce me?"
A hint of embarrassment flickered in her eyes, and Ling Shuangjiang said softly, "Stop fooling around."
In front of Ling Shuangjiang, Xie Wang set the recording as his ringtone and alarm clock, saying to him, "From now on, I can hear you praising me every morning."
Ling Shuangjiang watched his every move quietly, raising a slight brow at the corner of her eye: "Listening to recordings is so boring, wouldn't it be better to have a real person wake you up every day?"
Xie Wang fastened his seatbelt for him and chuckled to himself, "How do you call someone in person? A recording is much more reliable."
Ling Shuangjiang didn't speak, but just looked at him with interest.
The black sedan drove slowly on the snow, then suddenly stopped by the roadside, its body swaying slightly.
Xie Wang hugged Ling Shuangjiang, his voice excited: "You agreed to live with me?"
Ling Shuangjiang didn't speak, but there was a smile in the corner of her eye.
Xie Wang grew increasingly anxious: "Is this what you mean?"
Ling Shuangjiang teased him, "Guess what?"
Xie Wang hugged him tighter, his breath slightly ragged: "I said yes, you agree to live with me."
Ling Shuang lowered her chin and rested it on his shoulder. "Then delete that recording from earlier."
Xie Wang was wary and continued to ask, "If I delete it, will you agree to live with me?"
“Hmm,” Ling Shuangjiang said.
Xie Wang's lips curled slightly, and under Ling Shuangjiang's gentle gaze, he deleted the recording completely.
"Should we stay at your place or mine?" Xie Wang eagerly cupped his face in his hands. "Or should we just buy a house for our wedding?"
Ling Shuangjiang pondered for a moment: "Isn't it too early to buy a wedding house?"
"It's not early." Xie Wang tentatively pecked at the corner of his mouth. "I'm already ready to get married."
"Let him stay at your place for now. Your place is bigger, and Xiao Wu will be more comfortable there."
Xie Wang: "Okay, I'll pick you up tomorrow."
That night, Xie Wang had no intention of sleeping at all, and devoted himself to the renovation of the bedroom, preparing daily necessities for Ling Shuangjiang, and even personally making the slippers for the bathroom.
His slippers belong to the Big Bad Wolf.
Ling Shuangjiang's slippers are made of little white rabbits.
Couple slippers.
After tidying everything up, Xie Wang whistled contentedly, like a king surveying his territory, looking around at the place where they would do all sorts of things together in the future.
The next day, Xie Wang went to pick up Ling Shuangjiang with great joy, only to be met with two suitcases.
"I have to go to film a movie, can you help me move over?"
Ling Shuangjiang sat in the car, only her face was visible.
Xie Wang stared expectantly at Ling Shuangjiang: "When will you be back?"
"About a week."
Xie Wang nodded obediently, carried the suitcase upstairs, and then peered out the window and asked, "Remember to take care of yourself. I'll take care of our son at home."
Ling Shuangjiang: "Okay, thank you for your hard work."
The car drove further and further away, gradually becoming a black shadow.
Sitting in the car, Li Man murmured, "Why is President Xie standing there like a statue waiting for her husband?"
Ling Shuang lowered her smile: "Really?"
Li Man joked, "You have no idea, when you said you were leaving just now, President Xie looked so aggrieved. Isn't he supposed to be a tough guy?"
Ling Shuangjiang smiled and said, "Yes, sometimes I can be a little coquettish."
Li Man suddenly chuckled: "It's okay, just be vigorous in bed."
Xie Wang's WeChat message eased Ling Shuangjiang's embarrassment.
When he clicked on it, the words inside made him chuckle.
[Xie Wang: Shuangjiang, if you happen to pass by our house when you're busy, please remember to call my son and me out so we can catch a glimpse of you.]
[Ling Shuangjiang: Filming during Shuangjiang, passing by her home three times without entering?]
[Xie Wang: We just miss you so much.]
[Ling Shuangjiang: Be good, just wait a week.]
[Xie Wang: Cute little dog jpg.]
After exchanging a few sweet words with Ling Shuangjiang, Xie Wang's mood gradually improved. After all, he and Ling Shuangjiang were now living together.
When Xie Wang returned to the company, Assistant Jin noticed that he was in a good mood, which put her mind at ease. She hoped that Xie Wang wouldn't be too angry when he saw the document.
"Mr. Xie, here are the things you requested."
Xie Wang was arranging his desk and carefully wiping Ling Shuangjiang's photo frame with a tissue.
He paused, glanced at Assistant Kim, and took the documents.
The contents are very detailed, covering almost all of Ling Shuangjiang's activities during her four years of university.
"I received this document this morning and found the reason Mr. Ling took a month's leave to be somewhat absurd, so I asked someone to check Mr. Ling's medical records." Assistant Jin said anxiously, "Unexpectedly, this check revealed something important."
"A year and a half ago, Mr. Ling was diagnosed with mild depression. He was then involved in an accident where he was scratched by a car and suffered minor injuries, requiring hospitalization."
"Actually, based on the severity of his injuries, Mr. Ling could have been discharged from the hospital in a week, but he has been kept in the hospital for observation and has been going through several psychological examinations. He has also been suffering from minor illnesses, which is probably due to the side effects of the medication."
Xie Wang: "Are all the medical records here? What about the follow-up medical records? What about the results of the follow-up examinations?"
Assistant Jin nodded: "I initially thought Mr. Ling hadn't received any further treatment, because the hospital's records stopped on the day he was discharged. But after checking, I found that Mr. Ling received treatment at another hospital afterward. He recovered and returned to China after about four months. The medical record from that hospital says that the patient had a strong desire to be cured, so he recovered quickly."
Upon hearing this, Xie Wang felt his heart pounding and could hardly breathe.
"So, why did you get sick, and why did you change hospitals?"
Assistant Kim paused for a moment: "On page 15, I suspect it might be related to the copyright infringement incident involving the venue setup for Mr. Ling's solo art exhibition. On the day of the exhibition, the designer whose work was infringed, Atu, approached Mr. Ling, demanding an apology and compensation. According to Atu, the exhibition title 'drunk' perfectly complemented his spatial design work 'colourful.' When Mr. Ling first asked him for permission, he refused, but Mr. Ling used it without authorization."
"So, the school gave Shuangjiang a disciplinary warning? And her postgraduate degree was also revoked."
