Chapter 89

"Hehe, you're still so beautiful." Qin Qin smiled, tilting her head. "And you're still so devoted. I don't know if I like you or your devotion."

"Oh well, that's all for now. I don't even know why I came all this way. I'm going home." Qin Qin waved with a smile. "Let's go."

Qinqin turned around, tears still streaming down her face. In the past, she would have cried and scolded him for being stupid and for deserving it, but she didn't know that walking downhill like this had worn her out.

She'll regret it, but so what?

He Zhuo didn't know what he was thinking. Just as Qin Qin turned to walk away, he reached out and took her hand. Qin Qin's tears flowed even more fiercely. She turned back and glared at him, but He Zhuo reached out and tapped her cheek, saying, "Look, your face is all chapped. How long has it been since you washed your face?"

Qinqin burst into tears and stomped on He Zhuo's foot. He Zhuo laughed and said, "Oops, you've broken my foot."

"No, no..." Qinqin cried so hard she could barely breathe, slapping his hand away and sobbing, "Stop playing tricks on me, go, go, go. No, you're gone."

He Zhuo smiled again, "Goodbye."

Qin Qin shrugged as she descended the mountain. He Zhuo waited until her figure disappeared from the stone path before kicking a stone on the ground. The stone flew straight into the bushes diagonally to his right, followed by Mo Mo's loud laughter.

He Zhuo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, waiting for them to come out. This place wasn't like the back mountain; if they ran down, they would fall straight down.

It took a while before Huang Tao and Mo Mo walked out, one big and one small, holding hands. Mo Mo didn't seem to realize she had done anything wrong. She rushed over and hugged He Zhuo's leg, tilting her little head up and saying, "Uncle, shame on you."

"You're the one who's shameful!" He Zhuo picked up Mo Mo and frowned, saying, "Eavesdropping is wrong. Mo Mo, don't learn bad things from Huang Tao."

Huang Tao pouted, "We were playing hide-and-seek. It's because you guys were talking too loudly that I didn't want to hear those sour things."

He Zhuo nodded, "Tara just came over."

"Oh, so what?"

He Zhuo raised an eyebrow, but before he could, Mo Mo pinched his eyebrow and pulled it down.

"It's nothing, I just wanted to let you know." He Zhuo grabbed Mo Mo's hand and walked forward. After a few steps, he added, "I just think you're getting a bit old. If you don't get married soon, you'll never be able to get married."

After saying that, He Zhuo picked up Mo Mo and ran out, but he was still not as fast as Huang Tao. He Zhuo had only run a few steps when a cloth shoe flew from behind him, hitting him on the side of his head and landing in front of them. Mo Mo swung her legs and laughed loudly, hugging He Zhuo's neck and shrieking. After shrieking, she grabbed his ear and pulled it hard, saying, "Uncle, run, run fast!"

He Zhuo glanced at Mo Mo, smacked his lips and muttered, "Kids are really not cute, but it's not bad to have one to play with."

61. Naked men reappear

The atmosphere on the mountain was somewhat strained. After the incident, Qiu Su hadn't even seen Qin Qin, but she saw He Zhuo holding Mo Mo, as if nothing had happened. Qiu Su wanted to ask, but then she thought, her own situation was a mess, how could she give advice to others? If Qin Qin really couldn't find happiness with He Zhuo, she would only be the one causing her further heartache.

Then there's Ruan Hu and Lu Mingcheng. Something's happened between them; the atmosphere is eerily unsettling. She has no intention of investigating this couple; the outcome will surely leave her speechless. And then there's Huang Tao. Huang Tao isn't young anymore, and she actually hopes she'll show some signs of wanting to get married. It's not that she's worried about Huang Tao eating and drinking from the village; she'd even rob a man and carry him up the mountain, she'd definitely help support him. But these past few days, she's been acting strangely, extremely antagonistic towards Tara. She doesn't remember the two of them having a feud in southern Xinjiang.

I'm torn!

The brothers up in the mountains said another group of people would be passing by. Qiu Su had been thinking about it for days but couldn't decide whether to rob them or not. The village was a good village; they never robbed people for no reason. The last time was just a sudden urge to go down the mountain for a stroll. If they really fought, they might not rob them.

Qiu Su glanced at Mo Mo, who was running towards Lu Mingcheng's study with her short legs, and the old, decrepit mountain lord swaying leisurely beside him. She stroked her chin and went down the mountain alone. She didn't bring her flamboyant jade mask, only taking Xiao Qiu with her.

Qiu Su, carrying a knife, strolled leisurely down the mountain until nearly noon, finding a flat rock to sit on. Xiao Qiu, meanwhile, squatted confidently in the middle of the road, exuding an air of dominance. The two, one human and one wolf, waited for a long time before a caravan slowly approached. Qiu Su remained still, simply watching from her elevated position. When the caravan reached the bottom, someone in the group shouted, "Run! There are robbers!"

In the blink of an eye, the convoy of over a dozen people had vanished. Xiao Qiu looked at Qiu Su with a puzzled expression, but Qiu Su shrugged and spread her hands. The two of them sat there blankly for a while longer. Qiu Su jumped off the rock, put her hands behind her back, and looked at the flatbed carts. The boxes were all locked. Qiu Su poked them with her knife and felt they were quite heavy. But for some reason, she suddenly lost interest, raised her hand to call Xiao Qiu, and then went back up the mountain with her hands behind her back.

Halfway there, they saw Zhou Tong leading his brothers down. Zhou Tong narrowed his eyes, looked at the carriages below, and said with a smile, "Young Miss is truly brave. She drove away a group of bastards all by herself."

Qiu Su remained silent and continued walking uphill past Zhou Tong.

"Miss, I'll take the brothers and carry the things upstairs."

Thinking about it, it makes sense. It would be a waste to leave it on the road. Who knows when Magistrate Qin will come to raise funds again, and then we'd have to spend money again. Qiu Su nodded, "No need to send it upstairs, just move it to the back mountain."

It was past lunchtime when they got up the mountain. The little guy was throwing a tantrum and hadn't eaten lunch. When he saw Qiu Su come in, he burst into tears and tugged at Qiu Su's ear, complaining incoherently, "Mommy doesn't want Momo anymore, waah, Momo misses Mommy."

"Speak properly!" Qiu Su pulled away Mo Mo's hand, which was trying to pinch her ear, and lightly slapped him.

Mo Mo, nestled against Qiu Su's shoulder, clutched his bottom and cried even louder. His mouth was wide open, his nose wrinkled, and he would cry a couple of times, then open his eyes to check Qiu Su's expression before continuing to wring his face. Qiu Su, holding him in one arm, drank a bowl of sweet soup herself before taking Mo Mo's bowl to feed him. Mo Mo pouted, looked at the contents of the bowl, and sobbed, "Mommy doesn't want Mo Mo anymore?"

"Who said that?"

"MoMo misses her father."

Who provoked him again? Qiu Su glanced around, while Huang Tao shrugged and pouted.

"Your Majesty..."

"Speak properly."

"Mother, Momo wants Father."

"What do you want with your father?"
