Chickens and dogs fly in chaos and rebirth - Chapter 75
Didi-dada, didi-dada, the little loudspeaker is starting to broadcast!
Shivering, Liang Meihua took a sip of hot soup to warm herself, then her eyebrows danced with excitement: "I saw something really interesting today. Shi Xiaoxiao fought fiercely against Red Buttocks, all for her lover!"
The people eating together perked up and urged, "What's going on? What's going on? Is it about Ji Yunwen again? Didn't he already refuse?"
Shang Lin shook his head helplessly, took a sip of the old duck soup, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Li Changsheng with a half-smile.
Chang Sheng shrugged, indicating that he was also innocent; he was just a gofer. Today's duck soup was made by the chef at Xiaojiuxian Restaurant, and Shanglin still had a decent palate. Zhang Hongwei was being opportunistic again…
Liang Meihua held chopsticks in one hand and gestured with the other, talking animatedly with spittle flying everywhere, leaving Shanglin speechless.
While queuing for food, I saw Ji Yunwen, a classmate, in the middle of the line next to me. I greeted him, but little did I know I was about to witness a good show.
Shi Xiaoxiao is a freshman this year, in Class 1 of Xia Lin. It's said she has a crush on Ji Yunwen.
Red Buttocks is the name of the girl who confessed her love to Ji Yunwen, a girl who was said to be older than him. Because of her fiery red lips, she was given an unflattering nickname by the mischievous boys.
Ji Yunwen is truly a talented individual! He comes from a good family, is good-looking, has good interpersonal relationships, and excels academically, consistently ranking in the top ten of his class. He doesn't seem to study diligently, yet he always ranks within the top ten in every test and quiz.
He attracted the attention of many girls upon entering university and was the object of many people's secret crushes. But he was in no hurry and never accepted anyone's confession. He was "the best of the best among pretty boys" - Qiu Xia Lin Yu.
For some reason, Shi Xiaoxiao and Hongpigu bumped into each other today. They were pulling and tugging at each other next to Ji Yunwen. At first, they exchanged barbs, but later the conflict escalated and they started fighting, grabbing each other's hair and tearing each other's clothes, while also hurling insults at each other.
Shang Lin had no intention of being nearby, but Liang Meihua, who rarely witnessed two girls fighting, held on tightly and wouldn't let them leave. She watched from beginning to end, exclaiming how exciting it was, and upon returning, she began to repeat what she had seen on the radio.
From Ji Yunwen's initial helplessness in trying to mediate the fight, to Ji Yunwen being implicated and having his hair pulled into a mess by the two girls, Liang Meihua vividly described the events, eliciting continuous laughter from the group.
Shaking his head in helplessness, Liang Meihua is the one who thrives on chaos!
Gao Jiaqiang was sitting in front, sleeping with his head on the table. The noise from behind grew louder and louder until finally, he got annoyed and said, "Can't you keep your voice down? Can't you see someone is sleeping?"
Liang Meihua pouted. Before she could even speak, someone else blurted out, "Go back to the dorm to sleep. This is the classroom!"
He was furious at being humiliated, but he couldn't go against the masses, so he blamed Qiu Shanglin instead.
Li Changsheng asked in a low voice, "Should we teach him a lesson?"
Shang Lin shook his head. "He's just a kid. I don't want to lower myself to his level. We're classmates, so people won't say we're bullying each other."
She didn't want to cause trouble, but Gao Jiaqiang wouldn't stay put.
After dinner, we chatted for a while, and then it was time for evening self-study. The test papers from the last quiz were handed out, and Qiu Shanglin was first again, Chen Zhaodi came in second, and Gao Jiaqiang was third as usual.
The homeroom teacher praised three students, especially Shang Lin's composition. After he left, Liang Meihua happily borrowed Shang Lin's Chinese test paper and passed it around in the class. Some busybodies got the class monitor's permission to read her composition aloud. She just smiled and didn't take it seriously, and went back to memorizing English words, unaware of Gao Jiaqiang's resentful gaze beside her.
She's number one again! Why is she number one again?!
Everything else is fine, but why is it that her math score is the same as mine? Why is it that even though we got the same score, the teacher still praised her?
Shang Lin was completely unaware of his ulterior motives.
She was completely absorbed in learning English vocabulary. Although she had been learning English since childhood, it wasn't her native language, and a solid foundation was essential for future progress. She reviewed and memorized what she had already learned, immersing herself in the learning process. While reciting in her mind, she also scribbled in her workbook, and before she knew it, her elbows had crossed the barely visible 38th parallel...
Gao Jiaqiang glanced sideways with displeasure, cleared his throat, but didn't attract the other person's attention. Annoyed, he thought, "How can you be so oblivious! I warned you, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
He picked up the ballpoint pen and stabbed it hard.
Shanglin cried out in pain—it wasn't that much pain, he was just startled awake.
He glared at her angrily: "What are you doing?"
Gao Jiaqiang pouted: "It's crossed the line!"
She stared intently; her elbow had crossed the 38th parallel. Swallowing her anger, she withdrew her hand and examined it—a black dot on her blue school uniform. Thank goodness she was wearing thick winter clothes, otherwise it would have hurt even more! She glared at him angrily. This kid had stabbed her countless times, ruthlessly using whatever he could get his hands on. Several times he'd used a compass to poke her arm; thankfully she'd pulled back quickly, or she would have been left with several holes!
"How can a grown man be so petty?" she thought to herself, pursing her lips and ignoring him.
The classroom was cold; even wearing two pairs of socks couldn't ward off the biting chill. We specially ordered three pairs of cotton leg warmers, one for each person, so we could slip them on at night and they were very warm. After memorizing a chapter of vocabulary, I stretched and kicked my legs, but accidentally crossed the line again. Gao Qiang wasn't about to let this opportunity pass; he stomped his foot hard!
"Ah!" The short, sharp cry pierced the quiet classroom, causing many students to look up before lowering their heads to continue studying. The class monitor snorted, "Study, huh!"
Someone at the back of the classroom was chuckling and mimicking him in a high-pitched voice, but they quickly fell silent again.
Shang Lin glared at him, lowering his voice: "You kicked me hard!"
Gao Jiaqiang said smugly, "Serves you right!"
She glared at him for a while, then clenched her fist and slammed her elbow into his arm, earning him a low growl: "Are you looking for death?" His eyes widened considerably.
Shanglin said smugly, "You've crossed the line!" Silence fell. Serves you right!
His chest heaved with anger, and the two glared at each other for a long time. Suddenly, Gao Qiang used his strength to twist her hard through her clothes. He didn't touch her flesh, but she was still startled.
Unwilling to give in, she tried to twist her wrist back, but Gao Jiaqiang reached out and blocked her. She tried to pull away for a long time but couldn't. He gripped her wrist tightly. Despite his short stature, Gao Jiaqiang had a surprisingly strong grip, and her hand hurt from the pressure. She couldn't help but gasp softly. Gao Jiaqiang's eyes gleamed with smugness, but he wouldn't let go. Shang Lin kept kicking him, but Gao Jiaqiang reacted quickly, dodging her attacks. Not only did she miss, but she also got kicked several times. Shang Lin's anger flared even more.
By this time, Gao Jiaqiang had already pinched her several times, through her clothes, accurately and viciously, targeting her tender flesh, causing her excruciating pain.
Shanglin is furious. I won't bother with you, but you're taking advantage of me and won't stop!
She endured it and didn't argue with him because she felt that at her age, it would be beneath her dignity to argue with a young boy. But Qiu Shanglin never swallowed his anger or wronged himself.
Gao Jiaqiang, you've pushed me to my limit!
Ignoring that they were studying, she suddenly stood up, startling Liang Meihua and Chen Zhaodi, who were concentrating on their studies behind her. They stared blankly as she pointed at Gao Jiaqiang and began to berate him:
"Have you no shame? If you don't want to sit next to me, go tell the teacher yourself. Using underhanded tactics behind my back, are you even a man? You pinched me? You pinched me? What kind of boy pinches a girl? Are you a boy or a girl?"
While Li Changsheng was dreaming, he suddenly heard Qiu Shanglin cursing. He was puzzled. "I've been quite obedient lately and haven't done anything to invite this cursing. Why is he so angry?"
His deskmate nudged him: "Wake up, wake up, something's happened!"
Opening his eyes, he scanned the scene. Qiu Shanglin and Gao Jiaqiang had both stood up, and several other people remained in their original positions, some watching the spectacle and others trying to dissuade him. Gao Jiaqiang's eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets as he cursed and raised his fist to strike someone. Liang Meihua screamed and grabbed him tightly across the table, half of her body leaping into the air. Chen Zhaodi pulled Shanglin back from behind, her eyes brimming with tears.
The class monitor was so anxious that he kept saying, "Stop fighting! Stop fighting!" Half the classroom was in chaos, and no one listened to him.
The fire in Changsheng's heart suddenly rose to his throat.
Without even taking off his cotton-padded jacket, he dragged it along, braced himself against the table, and flew over in a few steps. He pushed aside Chen Zhaodi, shielded Shang Lin behind him, and looked down at her, saying, "You fucking want to die!"
They were about to take action even as they were talking.
Shang Lin held him back, coldly saying, "We won't make a move."
Chang Sheng's fists clenched until they turned purple, hovering over Gao Qiang's head for a long time before he gritted his teeth and lowered them. He pressed himself against Gao Qiang and asked, "Don't you want to live anymore?"
To be honest, Gao Jiaqiang was a tough guy. Anyone else would have been scared out of their wits, but he stubbornly retorted, "Damn it, Qiu Shanglin started this trouble first!"
Chang Sheng narrowed his eyes. "You insulted her mother? Insulting her mother is the same as insulting my mother. I'm always the one who insults other people's mothers; you're the first person to insult my mother and still be standing there unharmed!"
He broke free from Shang Lin's grasp and raised his fist to strike, but heard Shang Lin cry out in pain. He stopped, afraid that he might hurt her by using too much force, and asked, "Did you bump into something? Did you bump into something?"
Ignoring her attempts to stop her, Liang Meihua rolled up her sleeves, gasped, and saw a ring of bruises on her fair wrist.
Li Changsheng became even more popular.
I've never even hit her, who do you think you are to bully people like this?
He was about to strike without any regard for the consequences when Gao Jiaqiang, sensing the danger, jumped back and shouted, "What right do you have to hit me? What right do you have to hit me? Who do you think you are to hit me?"
Li Changsheng cracked his joints.
Who do you think you are? I'm the youngest, and I'll beat you up no matter what! Let's skip the formalities, beat you up first, then we'll talk!
The two ran around the classroom, one chasing the other. Since Changsheng had friends, they couldn't openly help, but they secretly gave each other a beating, pretending to help Gao Jiaqiang while actually sabotaging him. He was miserable and ran to Ouyang Linhao, grabbing the pretending-to-be-asleep Ouyang Linhao: "Linhao!"
As mentioned before, Class 1 of Grade 7 was divided into three smaller groups. Ouyang Linhao and Gao Jiaqiang both came from Huaiqiao City, and they got along quite well because of Ye Ruru. Ouyang Linhao sighed; pretending to be asleep wouldn't work anymore.
He stopped Li Changsheng: "Changsheng, give me some face."
He cursed Gao Jiaqiang in his heart without stopping.
Who doesn't know that Qiu Shanglin is Li Changsheng's sister? The two grew up together. It's one thing to mess with others, but why do you have to provoke them?
