Capítulo 4

The lobsters had just been cooked and were waiting to be served, so Chu Qing didn't refuse.

Xiaxia first moved a stool to the door, stood on it and looked out through the peephole. When she realized that the person was her father, she instinctively tried to lock the door.

The lobster was served in a soup bowl that was usually used for soup. When Chu Qing brought it to the table, she glanced at Xia Xia.

Who is it?

"It's my father."

After Xiaxia finished speaking, she opened the door and quickly ran back to her father. Although her father was a scumbag, he couldn't just snatch a child in broad daylight.

Wei Yutang carried several shopping bags, placed them by the door after entering, and then frowned when he saw the crayfish on the table:

"Children shouldn't eat takeout every day, let alone something that has little nutritional value."

At the market, Chu Qing initially didn't want to buy crayfish. It was Xia Xia who begged and pleaded with her father to agree. Now that her father had come over, he was criticizing her, which made him so angry that he put his hands on his hips and wanted to curse.

"If you're not bringing Xiaxia, then don't talk so much!"

Faced with Xia Xia's accusations, Wei Yutang felt somewhat wronged, as he had always been willing to bring Xia Xia to his side.

The villa has no shortage of nannies and housekeepers, ensuring Xiaxia a wonderful childhood, but unfortunately neither Xiaxia nor Chu Qing is willing to accept it.

"Dad, let's eat, let him watch!"

Xiaxia sat there urging her father on, afraid that her crayfish would be ruined because of his arrival.

This was the first time Chu Qing had seen Wei Yutang since arriving in this world to carry out a mission. He was wearing a well-tailored black suit and appeared to be at least 1.8 meters tall.

With deep-set eyes and a cold demeanor, he exudes an overwhelming sense of pressure just by standing there.

Before he could finish observing, he heard Xiaxia urging him. He washed his hands, picked up a crayfish, peeled off the shell, and fed it to Xiaxia.

"Hmm, Dad, make garlic crayfish next time."

"good."

After Chu Qing agreed, she continued peeling crayfish for him, leaving Wei Yutang standing to the side. After a while, he frowned as he observed their interaction.

After thinking for a long time, he spoke in the most tactful way possible:

“Xiaxia is already over three years old. Perhaps he can do these small things by himself.”

Just as he said this, Chu Qing was feeding Xia Xia a crayfish.

Xiaxia froze, unsure whether to eat the lobster meat being fed to her.

Chu Qing pushed it forward again, and Xia Xia stared at her father, ate it, and then raised her chin and chewed it with disdain.

What are you looking at? If you want to eat it, go home and have your dad peel it for you.

Wei Yutang was just making a suggestion; he didn't intend to force them to accept it. After washing his hands at the sink, he sat down and helped peel the skin.

As Chu Qing bent down to peel the crayfish, Xia Xia glanced at the crayfish meat offered to her mouth, gave a soft snort, and took a step back, her whole body radiating resistance. She crossed her arms and said:

"I won't eat it. I'm three years old. My dad will take care of this little thing."

Wei Yutang knew before that Xia Xia was a bit vengeful, but he never thought she would hold a grudge to this extent.

"I've already eaten before coming here, but your dad probably hasn't eaten yet. Are you sure he really won't eat the ones I peeled?"

"No, Xiaxia will do it herself!"

As soon as Xia Xia reached out her hand, Chu Qing spoke up:

"no."

Xiaxia usually eats very well. She doesn't need to be fed or coaxed. Even if it's not a dish she particularly likes, she can finish the rice that Chu Qing serves her.

Chu Qing helped peel crayfish today, mainly because Xia Xia's hand was pinched by a crayfish's claws, and it must have hurt while peeling them.

Upon hearing her father's words, Xiaxia obediently nodded and replied:

"oh……"

Wei Yutang felt a little unbalanced looking at the little guy who was vengeful and rebellious in front of him, but obedient in front of Chu Qing.

Xiaxia didn't want to eat it, so he peeled it and put it on a plate to the side. But his attention was unconsciously drawn to Chu Qing's hand that was peeling shrimp.

Chu Qing's hands were beautiful, long and slender with distinct joints. She had no nails, and her fingertips were covered in red oil from crayfish, the strong contrast in color making her hands appear even whiter.

After peeling a crayfish, he fed it to Xiaxia, his eyes revealing tenderness.

She's not exactly stunningly beautiful, but she's certainly pleasing to the eye.

Their previous meetings were never pleasant. Wei Yutang's strongest memory of Chu Qing was him asking him for money with all sorts of ferocious faces.

They even tried to interfere in my private life, calling to inquire about my schedule, even for my occasional normal social engagements with business partners.

An excessive desire for control can breed resentment, especially in someone with Wei Yutang's personality.

This time when they met, Chu Qing didn't even greet him. She just sat there peeling shrimp for Xia Xia, her quiet demeanor making her exceptionally attractive.

After Xiaxia finished eating a crayfish, she couldn't help but glance at her father, whom she hadn't seen for a long time.

She noticed that he was staring at her father with such a strange look, and quickly reached out and hugged her father's arm.

The sudden movement made Chu Qing instinctively stare at Xia Xia, who spoke warily:

"Go home and find your own father, don't try to take Xiaxia's things."

Children's thoughts are mostly simple; they only know how to express their thoughts directly. After speaking, he even moved closer to his father, with alarm bells ringing in his head.

This father is unacceptable; he not only wants to take me away, but also wants to steal my father.

Wei Yutang cleared his throat, his earlobes felt inexplicably hot, and even his throat felt itchy. He turned his head away uncomfortably, not daring to face the gaze that Chu Qing might be looking at.

Xia Xia's words made him panic so much that his palms even started to sweat.

"Xiaxia, you can't be so rude. That's your father."

Chu Qing's words sounded like he was teaching Xia Xia, but his tone didn't carry much of a reprimand. After he finished speaking, he even fed Xia Xia a crayfish, which made Xia Xia completely obedient.

She gave a soft snort and moved closer to her father, nodding obediently in agreement on the surface, but in reality, she was still somewhat resentful.

Xiaxia was right, and she was very polite.

After feeding Xiaxia, Chu washed her hands and went to the kitchen to start making lunch, leaving Wei Yutang and Xiaxia staring at each other in the dining room.

The atmosphere was too stiff and awkward, so Wei Yutang went over and took the toys he had bought, opened them, and wanted to play with Xiaxia.

The new type of remote-controlled airplane is hard for most children Xiaxia's age to resist.

Xiaxia took the remote control, and Wei Yutang hugged him from behind, wrapping his little hands in his big palms, and began to patiently teach him how to play.

"This way it goes up, this way it controls the direction."

"Okay, okay."

As soon as Wei Yutang finished speaking, Xiaxia, who was sure she had learned it, decisively scooted out of her father's arms and sat on the other side to start playing.

As Wei Yutang sat there, he had a vague feeling that he was being used and then discarded by his own son.

After playing with it for a while, Xiaxia put down the remote control, packed away the toy airplane, and sat there, unable to resist asking:

"When are you leaving? You're not thinking of freeloading off me, are you?"

If it's just a free meal, I can barely accept it because he bought himself a toy airplane, but I absolutely cannot freeload off his dad, not even if he buys a hundred toy airplanes!

Xiaxia: My little scheme is starting to work.

Chapter 4

Wei Yutang came over after lunch. While entertaining guests, he saw children playing with remote-controlled airplanes outside and thought that Xiaxia would probably like them too.

The social gathering was mainly for discussing cooperation, so Wei Yutang didn't eat much. He wasn't particularly hungry to begin with, but after smelling the aroma wafting from the kitchen, a wave of hunger washed over him.

Xiaxia could tell from her father's expression that he wanted to stay for dinner but was too embarrassed to say so.

She touched her precious little airplane, but didn't speak up for him, let alone offer him a way out. She just wanted to see what excuse her father would come up with to stay.

Wei Yutang wasn't going to be embarrassed by such a small thing. He sat there watching Xia Xia smugly shaking her head, and out of the corner of his eye, he could see Chu Qing busy in the kitchen.

Wearing a light blue apron over a simple T-shirt, Xiaxia bent over cooking, the hot oil sizzling as it touched the vegetables, and happily hummed an animated film theme song.

For a moment, Wei Yutang felt that this was very much the epitome of all the beautiful things he had imagined about family.

However, by simply standing there doing nothing, I became the only flaw in this beautiful composition.

“If you’re hungry, go home and let your dad cook for you. Why do you keep thinking about my dad?”

After Xiaxia finished muttering, she looked at her father with disdain, hoping he would leave the little airplane behind and go away quickly.

Previously, when Wei Yutang wanted to take Xiaxia away, he used the excuse that Chu Qing couldn't take good care of the child, which is clearly not applicable to the current situation.

Xiaxia, certain her father couldn't hear her, sat in his lap, nestled on his shoulder, and whispered in Wei Yutang's ear:

"Father, from now on, please don't contact Xiaxia anymore except to send money to my father."

When Xia Xia first crawled over, Wei Yutang thought she wanted to get closer to her father, but he was stunned when she said those words.

"Um?"

“Xiaxia is your son, so you have to give him money.”

Xiaxia hugged her father's arm, looking as if she was afraid he would renege on his debt.

Wei Yutang never intended to be stingy in this matter; it was just that Chu Qing had been unwilling to accept the child support he offered.

"Can."

"Also, don't come looking for Xiaxia and Dad."

When a three- or four-year-old child utters such words, Wei Yutang can't help but suspect that Chu Qing taught him to do so, hoping to deprive him of his visitation rights in this way.

"Why?"

The impression Chu Qing left on him before was so terrible that even though he has changed now, he still can't reverse it in a short time.

When Wei Yutang asked this question, his tone was slightly cold. He rubbed Xia Xia's head, still wanting to bring him back to his side.

No matter how good Chu Qing is, he can't compare to a professional childcare worker or nanny. His previous obsession and extreme behavior was like a time bomb planted next to Xia Xia.
