Capítulo 36

Chapter 30, Second Story (5)

Noah looked terrified.

K stroked his chin with interest, seemingly seriously considering whether he should try eating it raw next time.

However, he quickly turned his attention back to Qin Chu.

The man placed the mouse in his hand next to himself and sighed with feigned disappointment, "I thought you would be more interested in me if I were placed next to the mouse."

Qin Chu didn't reply, but stepped forward and unlocked the door.

He entered the cell and found that the dungeon wasn't too bad.

What Qin Chu found even more incomprehensible was that there was a bed in this prison cell?

He, the master of this castle, the pinnacle of vampire power, deserves only to sleep in a coffin.

In his dungeon, each cell had a bed that looked quite large.

It must be said that His Highness the Prince was somewhat jealous.

Qin Chu couldn't help but exclaim, "Noah..."

Noah interrupted immediately: "Don't even think about it, how could a prince sleep in a dungeon?"

K wasn't surprised to see Qin Chu come in. He was still holding the roasted rat in one hand, and stretched the other hand out to Qin Chu, saying lazily, "I'm in a good mood today, so I won't bother you. Eat whatever you want, little bat."

General Qin was in a very bad mood after his request for a bed was denied. He walked up to the man and pulled on the iron chain on his hand.

Caught off guard, the hunter's hands were twisted behind his back, and the roasted, juicy rat fell to the ground.

"Ah..." The rat hunter looked on with regret.

Qin Chu scoffed and said coldly, "Anyway, it's something we picked up from the ground. If we want to eat it, we can keep picking it up."

“That makes sense.” K thought for a moment and nodded.

Qin Chu's lips twitched, and he forcefully snapped the chain's latch.

K raised an eyebrow, thinking that the vampire couldn't resist drinking blood.

But he soon discovered that after the chain broke, he did not feel the pain of being bitten on his wrist, but only a slight, cool sensation on the back of his hand.

It's the tactile sensation of fingertips.

K was somewhat surprised. He turned his head and saw that Qin Chu had already turned and walked out of the cell, his back view calm and restrained.

Qin Chu did not close the cell door.

After only a moment of surprise, the hunter's lazy smile returned to his face.

He fumbled for his wrist and asked Qin Chu's retreating figure, "Do you think free-range food tastes better, little bat?"

"Take care of the chains on your feet yourself." Qin Chu turned and glanced at the rat that had fallen to the ground, his voice cool. "It's to make you contribute to the rat plague in my castle, Mr. Cat."

As Qin Chu emerged from the dungeon, Noah couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "The progress bar really went up!"

"How much did it go up?" Qin Chu asked.

“Five percent,” Noah replied. “Now it’s a negative fifteen percent.”

"That's all?" Qin Chu frowned slightly, clearly not satisfied with the answer.

In his mind, the catalyst for the war between vampires and humans consisted of two parties: the deceased prince and the vampire hunters hired by humans. Releasing K indicated a thaw in their relationship, which should accelerate the mission's progress.

Noah recounted the detailed process of the progress bar rising: "Actually, the current result is the result of rising first and then falling. After you released the hunter, the progress bar first rose by 10%, and then fell by 5%."

"But what is the reason for this decline?" Noah asked, puzzled.

Qin Chu gave a cold, curt smile: "Of course it's because he hasn't given up on killing me."

Upon hearing this, Noah began to worry again.

Releasing the hunter only increased the progress bar by 5%.

This did not meet Qin Chu's expectations, so instead of going back, he headed towards the courtyard behind the castle.

The sun had already moved high in the sky, and the sunlight was scorching.

Before Qin Chu stepped completely out, he first stretched out a hand to test it. It seemed that this prince's data body was indeed resistant to sunlight; the sunlight only caused a slight burning pain, without any serious harm.

After confirming with Noah that everything was alright, Qin Chu went straight into the courtyard.

He had taken off his coat while resting, and he wore no fancy accessories. Standing cleanly in the sunlight, he didn't look like a vampire living in the mysterious night; he looked more like an ordinary human.

Aside from being a little too good-looking.

Qin Chu adjusted his eyes to the light in the courtyard, then looked around to determine his direction.

He guessed that this data entity, being a prince who hated humans, must have kept some humans in its courtyard for blood-drawing purposes.

However, the courtyard was too large, and there were no servants with them at the moment. Qin Chu also had no specific memories of it. After lingering in the sun for a while, he finally found traces of humans in front of a low house.

The low house was placed next to the stable, with a small door and only a small window at a high point next to it.

Judging from the sliver of light peeking through the tightly closed doors, these low houses were all lined with straw, and at first glance, they didn't look like places where humans lived.

The reason Qin Chu noticed this place was because he saw two scattered glass marbles on the ground in front of the low house.

Bending down to pick up the glass marble and examine it, Qin Chu glanced around at the tightly closed doors, somewhat puzzled. It was daytime, no vampires should be out, and this should be time for humans to roam freely.

However, apart from some domesticated animals, there was no sign of humans in the yard.

A sound like something entering the water came from the pond not far behind him, followed by a familiar male voice.

"Stop looking. Humans who grew up here don't come out during the day."

"And you should have already tried it; other people's blood won't relieve your thirst."

Qin Chu turned his head and saw the hunter he had just released emerging from the pond.

He wiped the water off his face, took off his shirt, revealing his strong physique, and stood in the shade of the pond washing the dirt off his body.

As he was washing, the man bent down, splashed some water, and stared blankly at the dripping water droplets.

Qin Chu glanced at him: "What? You're so happy you've gone crazy just from being released?"

“No, that’s not it.” K shook his head and raised his hand to show Qin Chu the dirty water dripping from his hand. “Look, it’s so dirty, how could you bite into it?”

Qin Chu: "..."

Although he had never inhaled it before, Qin Chu still felt nauseous and really wanted to find someone to fill the pond.

Perhaps they were talking a little too loudly, because Qin Chu sensed a sound coming from the low house closest to him, and then a pair of clear eyes appeared through the narrow window.

Seeing the marbles in Qin Chu's hand, his already round eyes widened even more, and then he suddenly disappeared through the window.

A moment later, the door of the low house was gently opened a crack, and a little boy with a dirty face peeked out.

The little boy first glanced at Qin Chu, then looked around, and paid particular attention to the shadows around him.

Only after confirming that no one else was around did he dare to run out.

This kid has short legs; he's not even as tall as Qin Chu's waist, but he runs pretty fast. He reached Qin Chu in just two or three steps.

Perhaps scared because he had sneaked out, the child was a little anxious and stretched out his hand to Qin Chu, saying, "Brother, give me back my marbles! I left them here, otherwise you're stealing!"

This was the first human Qin Chu had encountered since arriving in this world. To Qin Chu's surprise, although the boy had grown up in the territory of the vampires, apart from being somewhat thin, he had no obvious scars on his body.

From this perspective, the one soaking in the pond did indeed do a good deed. As the lord, he was cursed to be unable to drink the blood of others, so his other vampires naturally dared not drink blood indiscriminately at this time.

Looking at the boy in front of him, even General Qin, who usually had a cold face, couldn't help but feel a little affectionate.

He held out the marbles in his palm, a mischievous glint in his eye: "How can you prove they're yours? Which eye saw me steal them?"

Just then, Qin Chu heard a lazy, sarcastic voice say, "I saw it."

"..." Qin Chu felt a little itchy to do something.

The boy instantly became self-righteous, pointing at the hunter who was soaking in the pond and saying, "Look, that uncle saw it!"

uncle?

"Kid, are you blind?" K was a little annoyed. Why was he calling a thousand-year-old vampire "brother" instead of "uncle"?

Qin Chu gave a cool "heh," glanced at the boy with admiration, and then squatted down to hand him the marbles.

But then Noah heard a notification: "Sir, please be mindful of your character profile."

What kind of persona?

They hate humans.

Qin Chu stood there for a while, pondering, but couldn't think of any objectionable behavior.

He thought for a moment, threw the marble on the ground, then gently pushed the little boy in front of him, and said coldly, "Go away."

Noah: "..."

K, who was observing: "..."

The little boy who was pushed: "..."

Is this some kind of fight between kindergarten kids?!

K laughed out loud, quite unceremoniously.

Noah angrily accused, "Perfunctory! Utterly perfunctory!"

Given Qin Chu's usual strength, this push would have sent the child flying ten meters. But now, the child not only didn't stumble, but also didn't seem frightened at all.

Qin Chu pretended not to notice anything.

Noah is jealous, but he's only a five-year-old! Why does Qin Chu say "go away" to others, but "get lost" to him?

The little boy was also somewhat speechless, looking up at his older brother as if he were a mentally challenged idiot.

He squatted down and picked up the two marbles from the ground, then looked at Qin Chu with pity: "Never mind, brother, you should go back to your room. I won't tell Grandma that you ran away."

As soon as the little boy finished speaking, a faint cough came from the low house behind him, followed by somewhat dragging footsteps.

The half-open door was opened, and an elderly woman with gray hair, dressed in coarse cloth clothes, came out.

Her eyes were somewhat cloudy, as if she couldn't see people clearly, and she called out in a low voice, "Kyle, come back quickly, don't go out during the day... in case you disturb those people..."
