Capítulo 275

"Heh, jumping around so much, looks like a real spy. Let's throw him away." Levi looked at Qin Chu, actually feeling a little wronged.

"...Alright, let's get down to business. Noah, I remember you've met with the Prime Minister's secretary before. Take a look at this guy in front of you; is he the same one you met before?" Qin Chu said.

Noah then shifted his attention to scanning the android in front of him.

Qin Chu's fingers, hanging at his sides, lightly touched Levi.

Levi was satisfied and pinched Qin Chu's fingertip.

"Sir, preliminary assessment indicates this is not the real Caroline," Noah replied. "This android has a chip on it; we can take it back for research."

"Okay, notify the military and have them check each cabinet member to see if any androids have infiltrated. Also, check the sleep pod of the mainframe administrator, Tan Shu, to see if the person lying inside is the real Tan Shu." Qin Chu gave the instructions one by one.

-

The discovery of the existence of androids is undoubtedly a major breakthrough.

Levi and Qin Chu quickly returned to the base, and later had someone take the android's body away.

These clues were too important, and to make matters worse, the military's investigation uncovered two more androids in the cabinet. Things had gotten quite serious, and the special team was about to enter the virtual world again, so Qin Chu was practically running around non-stop after returning to base.

Levi had to keep an eye on the training of several lazy space pirates, so the two of them saw each other much less often.

Life suddenly became rather boring, and Levi almost wanted to get together with a few space pirates for another card game.

"Boss, time to rest!" Camin called out, and several space pirates quickly climbed out of the virtual training pod.

Levy, however, showed little interest; he was seriously considering whether he should climb through a window tonight.

But Qin Chu was very tired these days, so let's forget about it.

As dinner time approached, Levi stood up and was about to walk out of the training field when he looked up and saw Qin Chu, whom he hadn't seen for more than half a month, walking in.

"Why is General Qin here?"

"You probably have something to do, right?"

Levi assumed that Qin Chu would go to the special team's side as usual.

He was about to walk towards Qin Chu when he saw the man scan the training ground, finally fixing his gaze on him, and then walking towards him.

Levy was taken aback.

Several space pirates reacted even more strongly: "Holy crap, why is General Qin here?"

"...They wouldn't be here to see our boss, would they?"

Of course they came to see him, not you.

Levi muttered to himself, but he was still somewhat surprised to see Qin Chu take the initiative to come to him. After all, he was always the one who happily went to him, and Qin Chu had been very busy these past few days, so it didn't seem like he would take the initiative to come to him.

"What's up?" Levi went to greet him.

“…Mm.” Qin Chu nodded.

Levi assumed he had something urgent to attend to, but then he saw Qin Chu stop and hesitate for a moment before speaking: "You..."

Qin Chu was really busy. He had barely uttered a word when the communicator rang again.

"I need to take this call," Qin Chu said.

Levi nodded, watching Qin Chu talk to the person on the other end of the communicator while wondering what Qin Chu wanted to talk to him about.

Although things have progressed, Qin Chu's mood seems to be rather low lately.

Because the chip left by his adoptive father has been deciphered, it contains video data about the First Legion before its destruction. Even if Qin Chu sees his deceased parents, he will feel depressed.

And their relationship...

After returning from Roy Palace that day, Levi sensed that things were a little different between them. But before he could figure out what that difference was, Qin Chu left the base to handle various matters.

Just then, Qin Chu hung up the call and walked over.

"Are you free in three days?" Qin Chu asked.

Levi was taken aback again, and subconsciously replied, "I'm free."

Of course I'm free, even if I'm not, I have to be free.

"Well, then..." Qin Chu hadn't finished speaking when the communicator started ringing like a death knell.

Levy was waiting for him to speak, but he was stuck in a rut and almost choked to death.

After another long wait, Qin Chu finally came over after hanging up the second call.

Before Qin Chu could speak, Levi took a deep breath, looked at Qin Chu and said, "If this damn communicator dares to ring again, I'll snatch it and throw it away."

Qin Chu almost laughed at his words, and this time he finished saying what he wanted to say: "Meet me on the lawn behind the base three days from now."

After thinking for a moment, he added, "I have something I want to say to you."

Author's Note:

It's getting late, lol. I was supposed to write this chapter a little further along, but my liver is acting up.

It's practically the countdown to the main story's conclusion now.

Chapter 147 Confession

After Qin Chu finished speaking, he left in a hurry.

The people present, who were pretending to slack off but actually eavesdropping, were stunned for quite a while, a good dozen seconds, before someone suddenly blurted out: "Holy crap, a date?"

"Is it a date?"

"This is definitely a date! Maybe even a confession!"

"No way, General Qin would actually ask someone out on a date?"

Levy also seemed to think that the world was somewhat magical.

He stood there staring in Qin Chu's direction without moving, until Camin and the others came over to tease and jeer him, at which point he reached out and slapped one of the space pirates on the head.

The space pirate was completely stunned by the blow, covering his head and not daring to speak.

Levy turned to him and asked, "Does it hurt?"

"It hurts terribly." The space pirate was on the verge of tears.

Levi nodded in satisfaction: "Well, then it's alright. That makes sense. Even if it's a dream, it should only be about Qin Chu. How come the rest of you are in there?"

The news that Qin Chu had personally asked Levi out on a date quickly spread throughout the base.

Unfortunately, apart from those present at the time, no one believed it. Most of the people who heard it said that the joke was absolutely outrageous.

Only Qin Chu's adjutant, Burke, was so shocked by the news that he dropped his chopsticks and exclaimed, "It's raining red!"

Aside from an initial small-scale sensation, the news did not gain traction.

Qin Chu has been so busy that he hasn't been at the base at all these past few days.

Levi seemed perfectly normal. He went about his business at the base as usual, and even had the mood to watch the space pirates train. He didn't show any of the elation one would expect from someone they liked.

But only Levy himself knows that he's anything but normal.

He was so anxious that these past few days, whenever he saw a clock while walking, he would try to speed up the clock by making the hour hand spin more.

Besides that, Levy was more concerned about the information left behind by Qin Chu.

Is there something you want to say to him?

What did you say? Good words or bad words?

This problem is so unsettling that it keeps me on edge.

After rolling around in bed a few times, Levitten finally sat up abruptly.

He grabbed a handful of his curly hair, which was now a mess like a bird's nest, and couldn't help but complain, "Why do we have to wait three days for just a few words? Qin Chu, are you such a ritualistic person?"

The more I think about it, the more something seems off. These three days seem like a psychological preparation period before execution.

After thinking it over, Qin Chu wondered if he should call him over in three days and give him a very ceremonial breakup.

They were dumped before they were even truly together.

Levy just wanted to find a planet to crash into and die.

The more he thought about it, the more horrified he became. Levi couldn't help but jump off the bed and peer out onto the balcony.

Waiting idly like this is really not his style.

Qin Chu said three days later, but that doesn't mean he has to wait three days.

Levi was ready to climb on top of him right now, pin him to the bed, and interrogate him. If it was something good, he would force Qin Chu to say it, repeating it several times; if it was something bad, he would make Qin Chu swallow it and never say it again.

Without hesitation, Levy reached out and grabbed the windowsill, leaping up nimbly, his movements completely invisible in the darkness.

But after waiting for a few minutes, no strange noises came from Qin Chu's room. Instead, Levi jumped back in.

Qin Chu was in the room.

He could indeed have gone ahead to "torture" the suspect, but...

Why do I feel it's a bit of a pity?

This was the first time Qin Chu had formally invited him on a date.

He couldn't remember if he had ever hooked up in the virtual world, but in the real world, this was definitely a first.

Levy strangely didn't want to cause any disruption.

Three days later, apart from those who had personally heard Qin Chu speak, almost everyone had forgotten about this "rumor".

Qin Chu said it was morning, and Levi arrived very early.

As dawn broke, the hillside behind the base was unusually quiet, with hardly anyone around.

A lush green expanse ripples across the low slope, swaying in the cool morning breeze. This is not an artificial lawn; the verdant wild grass, glistening with morning dew, seems to be gathering energy for the new day.

Levy spotted Qin Chu on the hillside at a glance.

He didn't know how long he had been there; he sat in the grass, his posture very relaxed.

Despite having looked forward to this day for a long time, and despite being so anxious that he couldn't sleep last night, Levi was now hesitant to approach Qin Chu sitting on the lawn.
