El joven amo desvergonzado - Capítulo 12
In such a serious atmosphere, her laughter was clearly inappropriate. Liao Yue'e frowned in displeasure; this little girl from the Wu family was too heartless. Pei Jin looked at her with suspicion, but didn't dare to ask, thinking she would talk to Tan Huan in detail later.
"Zhengyang Palace has been quiet for a long time. I thought they had all behaved themselves." Pei Gumo pondered for a moment, "I will investigate this matter thoroughly."
Shu Yunyao was still sobbing on the side.
Liao Yue'e stroked her black hair, feeling a pang of pity. "Poor child, why don't you stay at the Pei family's place? I have a deep friendship with your parents, and I can't let you wander outside."
Shu Yunyao hugged Liao Yue'e and cried uncontrollably, "Aunt Liao..."
Liao Yue'e caught a glimpse of the Lonely Dust Sword in Tan Huan's hand out of the corner of her eye. She had always kept her son's words in mind, and seeing him so casually give the sword away made her feel somewhat uncomfortable. "Gu Mo, do you remember when we visited Yunyue Manor before?"
Pei Gumo nodded. "Of course I remember."
"Back then, Yunyao was just a little girl, so beautiful and delicate. I once said that when Yunyao grew up, we would have her come to our family as our wife. Jin'er is not young anymore, so why don't we..."
"Mother!" Pei Jin said, frowning, "Why are you saying this at a time like this?"
Pei Gumo also said, "That was just a joke."
"Are you two bullying Yun Yao because she's all alone and helpless?" Liao Yue'e raised her voice. "She has no home now, so we should give her one."
Pei Gumo sighed and changed the subject, "After the Lingfeng Sword Tournament ends tomorrow, I will personally go to Yunyue Manor to get to the bottom of things. Even if it was Baili Liushang who did it, I will give Miss Shu justice."
At first, Tan Huan's expression was just stiff, but then slowly, even the expression disappeared.
She understood.
Tan Huan raised the Lonely Dust Sword in her hand, her voice clear and crisp, "Madam Pei, Alliance Leader Pei, this Lonely Dust Sword was given to me by Pei Jin. Do you know its significance?"
Liao Yue'e was speechless, and Pei Gumo didn't know how to respond either.
Tang Weiyu looked at her with great interest.
Pei Jin did not want to get married, let alone marry a strange woman. He said impatiently, "Mother, I promised Tan Huan that I would not get married within two years."
Liao Yue'e glanced at Tan Huan, then stared at her son, "And what about two years from now?"
Pei Jin insisted, "Our son should make his own decision about his marriage."
Liao Yue'e thought for a moment and compromised, "If you want to marry another woman, I won't object. However, this has nothing to do with marrying Yun Yao, does it? If you marry Yun Yao, wait two more years," she said, giving Tan Huan a meaningful look, "If you want to marry another woman, that's fine too. You can have both of them as your wives. There's no need to be so rigid."
"Mother!" Pei Jin was a little angry.
What are they saying? Why is it so hard to understand? Tan Huan blinked very slowly, opened her mouth and then closed it again. She lowered her eyes, her mind blank, and her voice was slow and soft, "My father is a hypocrite."
Those around her didn't understand why she said that and all stared at her.
“My father was a hypocrite. On the surface, he and my mother were very loving, but in reality, he had an illegitimate daughter outside, which is me.” Tan Huan raised his eyes, a fire burning silently in them. “But even so, he only had one wife.”
Pei Jin understood, but hesitated to speak.
Liao Yue'e rebuked, "Miss Wu, how can you speak of your father like that as a child?"
Tan Huan stubbornly raised her chin and remained silent.
“Aunt Liao,” Shu Yunyao suddenly spoke, her eyes brimming with tears, but she said resolutely, “Don’t force Brother Jin. Forced relationships are never sweet. Besides, although Yunyao is now an orphan, she is still a member of the Shu family and has the pride of the Shu family. I disdain forcing a relationship. Why should I, Shu Yunyao, be like this?” She stood up, meeting Liao Yue’e’s admiring gaze, and returned a slight smile. Then, she turned to Pei Jin, knelt down, and said, “Brother Jin, I have always admired you. Now that Yunyao is homeless, could you please take her in? Yunyao is willing to be your swordswoman and learn something from you.”
Pei Jin quickly helped her up, "Don't do this. You are Mother's guest, you don't need to kneel before me."
Shu Yunyao stubbornly refused to stand up. Pei Jin didn't want to forcefully pull her up.
Pei Gumo sighed, "Fine, Jin'er, just agree to her request."
Pei Jin looked into her misty eyes and said helplessly, "Whether you live in the Pei family or not is Mother's decision. You don't need to serve me, and I don't need to either."
"Brother Jin... I just want to learn more from you."
"...You can ask me when you want to learn, and I will teach you."
Greedy Pleasure's pupils were pitch black, unfathomable. The lively scene before her was not hers; she turned and swiftly fled.
Wu Tanhuan, you will always be alone.
Chapter Seven: A Sword That Makes a Name for Him
Tan Huan's sudden departure caused Pei Jin to turn around as well. He took a step forward but then stopped, turning back to look at his mother. "Mother, is there anything else you want to say?"
Tang Weiyu smiled and interjected, "Is Young Master Pei planning to pursue that young lady from the Wu family?"
Pei Jin glanced at him but didn't say anything.
Liao Yue'e raised an eyebrow. "What if I say it's nothing?"
"Then I'll take my leave now."
Liao Yue'e laughed in exasperation. "You really like that little girl? Such an impolite child, she didn't even say a word when she left. What's so good about a brat who hasn't even grown all her teeth yet?" Realizing her tone was a bit harsh, she softened her voice. "Jin'er, that girl ran away so you would chase after her. How could you fall for her trick? Don't you always hate it when girls act all high and mighty in front of you?"
Pei Jin remained silent for a moment, then repeated, "Mother, is there anything else you want to say?"
Liao Yue'e said angrily, "You rarely come back, can't you spend more time with your mother?"
“I thought Mother would rather talk to Miss Shu right now,” Pei Jin said. “I’m just going to say a few words to Tan Huan. I’m worried she might misunderstand something.”
Tang Weiyu smiled and said, "Young Master Pei, why don't you stay here and keep Madam company a little longer? If Young Master Pei wants to say something to Wu Tanhuan, I can convey it to him."
It was very late, the sky was dark, and the stars were twinkling.
Tan Huan ran a long way alone, feeling incredibly sad. Her stomach was growling, and she sniffled with hunger, wondering if she should go back. With a sliver of hope, she turned around to look, but didn't see the person she was looking for.
What should she do? Should she go back to find Pei Jin? Or was eating more important? This was the first time in her life that Tan Huan had cared so much about someone; Pei Jin was her future husband, and she couldn't bear to lose him. After a long internal struggle and much hesitation, Pei Jin finally won out over eating, and Tan Huan decided to go back to him. No matter what, she had to at least say goodbye.
Liao Yue'e was an annoying woman, and Pei Gumo didn't suit her taste either. Tan Huan really didn't want to step into that room again; seeing those people made her unhappy. However, for Pei Jin's sake, she would endure it.
Tan Huan walked step by step, but halfway there, she hadn't seen the person she wanted to see, but instead met the person she didn't want to see. She frowned and honestly gave an expression of dislike.
Tang Weiyu looked at her expression but didn't say anything, just stood with her arms crossed. "You want to go find Pei Jin? After all that, you still want to go find Pei Jin?"
Whether I look for him or not is none of your business.
"You want to see Pei Jin marry Shu Yunyao?" Tang Weiyu said with a wicked smile. "Even if Pei Jin accepts you, his parents won't. Do you think Pei Jin would break with his parents for you?"
Tan Huan's mood was in a complete mess. "Pei Jin said she would wait for me to grow up," she said, sounding very unsure.
Tang Weiyu moved closer to her, her breath warm. "If you give me the Lonely Dust Sword, I can help you get rid of Shu Yunyao, or even Liao Yue'e. How about it? You won't lose out in this deal."
Tan Huan looked at him with disdain, "You are a terrible person. I don't trust you. You might try to pin the blame on me. Besides, I never intended to kill them."
"You think Pei Jin is genuinely good to you?" Tang Weiyu provoked. "He just sees your talent in martial arts and wants to use you to deal with Baili Liushang. He's giving you a few sweet treats to make you wholeheartedly serve him."
Tan Huan felt a pang of pain in her heart, and stared at him calmly. Don't worry about it, don't worry about it. Whether it's true or not, if she's useful to Pei Jin, she'll be overjoyed. Being able to help Pei Jin is a good thing; there's nothing to be sad about. "I believe in Pei Jin."
Tang Weiyu's gaze was icy. "Do you believe I can kill you right now?"
Tan Huan laughed, brandishing the Lonely Dust Sword. "You want this? To kill me for this sword? Is my life too worthless, or is this sword too precious?"
Tang Weiyu laughed and said, "Your life is worthless, but this sword is very precious."
Tan Huan turned her head, laughing heartily, and reached out to touch Tang Weiyu's wound. "I've already cut off three of your fingers, how come you still can't behave?"
“Your martial arts are quite good, but mine are no match for yours,” Tang Weiyu said. “However, the Tang Clan rarely uses martial arts to kill; we all use poison.”
Tan Huan suppressed her smile and silently gazed at him. Indeed, she wasn't skilled with poisons or hidden weapons. Should she kill him before he made a move? This man harbored ill intentions towards her and constantly tried to snatch the Lonely Dust Sword from her. Although he hadn't done anything to her yet, it would be too late once he did. Kill him… anyway, there was no one around now; she could kill him discreetly.
The air was still. Peaceful, without a trace of murderous intent.
Tang Weiyu narrowed her eyes and grabbed Tan Huan's chin. The blue venomous snake emerged from his clothes again, its red tongue flicking, its eyes fixed on Tan Huan. "You want to attack again? I won't let the same person hurt me twice!"
Tan Huan blinked innocently, slapped his hand away, and said naively, "Are you poisoned? If I'm poisoned by you, I won't be as obedient as Shu Yunyao. I'll definitely kill you before I die. Threats won't work on me." As she spoke, she was thinking of killing him without anyone noticing. Suddenly, Tan Huan's eyes lit up, her whole body relaxed, and she ran over with all her might, her face beaming, "Pei Jin."
Tang Weiyu was also taken aback and turned around to look.
Pei Jin's expression darkened. "Tang Weiyu, what were you doing just now?"
Tan Huan grabbed Pei Jin's arm and laughed heartily, "He just pinched my chin, I wonder if he had poison on his hands."
Pei Jin took her pulse with concern, and after a moment, breathed a sigh of relief, "She's alright."
Tang Weiyu, with his gentle demeanor, said, "I, Tang Weiyu, have a certain reputation in the martial arts world, and I would never lay a hand on a little girl. Well then, I'll take my leave." The green snake vanished and disappeared back into his clothes, and Tang Weiyu gradually walked away.
Tan Huan clung to Pei Jin's arm, her spirits soaring at the sight of him. She no longer felt hungry. "Pei Jin, who is Baili Liushang?" She had only overheard Shu Yunyao and Tang Weiyu framing Baili Liushang. That man was truly pitiful; he hadn't done anything wrong, yet he was burdened with such a terrible accusation. However, judging from Tang Weiyu's words, it seemed Pei Jin also disliked this Baili Liushang. If Pei Jin disliked him, then she would dislike him too.
Pei Jin gazed at her tenderly, "He's a bad person."
What is a bad person? Like Tang Weiyu? Like Du Suizhi? Or like Wu Canyang? Tan Huan nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite, "Oh."
"Greedy Pleasure, why did you suddenly run out just now?"
Could she say it was because she disliked the people there? Tan Huan thought for a moment and said tactfully, "I don't like it when you're nice to Shu Yunyao." She took his hand and placed it on her heart, "Seeing you being nice to him makes me feel uncomfortable."
The girl's tender body was not yet fully developed, but there were already small buds. Pei Jin's cheeks flushed, and she gently withdrew her hand, her tone serious. "Tan Huan, do you want me to belong only to you? To be good only to you?"
Tan Huan bit her lip and nodded shyly.
Pei Jin sighed. "I can't do that. I can't live only for you." He half-squatted down and put his hands on her shoulders. "I like you a lot, but I also have many other things to do. I can't just look at you alone, and I can't even put you first, at least not yet." He might like her more and more, but for Pei Jin right now, he only had a good feeling towards her, although he couldn't quite explain what that feeling was.
"You like me?" Tan Huan's eyes sparkled.
Pei Jin coughed awkwardly and stammered an "um".
"I like you too, I like you the most." Tan Huan hugged him happily. "Pei Jin, you won't marry Shu Yunyao, right?"
Pei Jin shook his head with a smile. "I promised you I wouldn't get married for two years."
Tan Huan's face flushed, and she giggled for a while. She remembered the secret she had overheard earlier, "Pei Jin, you need to be careful of Shu Yunyao and Tang Weiyu, they want to get you."
Pei Jin was taken aback. "What?"
"You don't believe me?" Tan Huan asked anxiously. "Yunyue Manor wasn't built by Baili Liushang at all; it was destroyed by the Tang Clan."
Pei Jin couldn't believe it. "How is that possible?" He pondered for a moment, then asked, "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
“You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you, neither would your mother or your father.” Tan Huan raised her head. “It’s okay if you don’t believe me, but I want to tell you.”
Pei Jin patted her head, a gesture that had become a habit, and said, "Don't worry, I believe you."
Tan Huan looked at him hesitantly, glancing at him once and then looking away, before stammering, "Should I kill Tang Weiyu for you now?"
Pei Jin stared at her.
Tan Huan quickly looked away and said timidly, "I was just saying."
Pei Jin was amused by her reaction. "What are you afraid of? I didn't say anything about you."
"But you don't like me killing people, do you?"
