Fantasmas en la facultad de medicina Archivos de terror - Capítulo 7
Zheng Qi nodded repeatedly in agreement.
"By the way, Senior Brother Mo Han, did your Uncle Master mention to you what kind of monster we're going to be facing?"
"Well... Master didn't say anything, he just said that you and I will know everything in due time!"
"Hmm! It seems we can only take it one step at a time and see what happens!"
Zheng Qi couldn't help but feel the weight of the responsibility he bore.
As the two were talking, they unknowingly arrived at the foot of Nanshan Mountain.
The narrow path they had taken up on the southern mountain was now completely blocked by boulders and trees that had slid down from the mountainside. It seemed that the path was indeed impassable. Seeing this, Zheng Qi couldn't help but sigh deeply, a look of despair on his face.
"Don't be discouraged, this was exactly what I expected!" Mo Han comforted her.
"You already knew that?"
“Just imagine, if we leave, who will play this game with him?” Mo Han winked at Zheng Qi as she spoke.
Zheng Qi was amused.
"Let's go back and discuss our next move!"
"Okay, sure!" Zheng Qi's fighting spirit suddenly soared. With the help of his senior brother sent by his martial uncle, he was no longer fighting alone. Moreover, judging from the current situation, his master was probably catching up with his fellow disciples and discussing countermeasures. Thinking of this, his heart warmed. His senior brother, Mo Han, was his closest relative; Zheng Qi was no longer alone.
Back in the mansion, everyone sat together quietly with furrowed brows and pained expressions, waiting for Zheng Qi and the others to return.
"Brother Mo Han is back!"
With a cheer from Cheng Jin, everyone quickly stood up and rushed out to greet him.
"How is it? Is the road we came from still passable?" Ye Feng asked anxiously.
Zheng Qi shook his head at everyone with a look of disappointment on his face.
With a "waaaah," Yu Xue burst into tears.
Meng'er and Ling Bing were busy comforting Yu Xue.
"Is there really no other way to go?" Ye Feng looked at Yu Xue, who was crying beside him, and asked anxiously again.
“That mountain path is blocked by those boulders and trees, and there’s no way for any of us here to move them. Mo Han and I looked around Nanshan, and apart from that path, there was nowhere else to go.”
"What should we do then? Are we just going to sit here and wait to die?" As soon as Cheng Jin finished speaking, Meng'er also started crying.
For a moment, everyone was at a loss for what to do.
"Call for help!" Cheng Jin suddenly blurted out.
Everyone hurriedly pulled out their phones.
There is no signal displayed on the phone.
Ye Feng was unwilling to give up. He turned the phone off and on again. Still, there was no signal displayed.
Everyone began to despair, their last glimmer of hope was extinguished, and they were cut off from the world forever.
"What do we do now?" Ye Feng roared at Zheng Qi in despair.
"Wait!" Zheng Qi calmly uttered a single word.
"Wait? How are we supposed to wait? Are we just going to sit here and wait to die?" Ling Bing asked Zheng Qifa.
"We have no way to leave here now except to wait for the people of Guhua Town to find out that we haven't gone back and come to our rescue. We have no other way to leave here."
Zheng Qi coldly surveyed everyone present. He knew that everyone was filled with despair at this moment, but he couldn't stand by and watch his friends sink into despair until they finally lost their will to live. He absolutely wouldn't allow it.
"How about we cross the other three mountains?" Meng'er said, seemingly having a sudden realization.
“Apart from the mountain road on Nanshan, there are no roads to the other three mountains!” Ling Bing then gave a brief explanation of what she and Li Fan had heard from the people of Guhua Town about the mountains to the east, north, and west of the house.
At this moment, everyone felt utterly hopeless.
"Since we're here, let's settle in. Rushing won't solve anything!" At this moment, Old Man Gu, who was standing to the side, stood up, put away his old pipe that he had been smoking for half the afternoon, dusted off his clothes, and said.
"Uncle Lao, do you think there are any other ways to get out?" Ye Feng asked cautiously, clinging to the last glimmer of hope, and a glimmer of expectation appeared in everyone's eyes.
"Didn't that young man say that besides waiting, what other options are there?" Old Gu said to Zheng Qi with a mocking smile.
Ye Feng and the others fell silent upon hearing this, their faces filled with disappointment. Meng'er and Yu Xue also stopped crying and looked at each other in panic.
Uncle Gu got up and walked out of the outer house.
"Uncle Gu, where are you going?" Ye Feng called out in a panic as Uncle Gu hurried away.
"You're not hungry, but this old man is!"
The old man said without turning his head.
The crowd looked at each other, bewildered and at a loss!
As noon approached, Old Man Gu appeared at the gate of his house, carrying a bundle of firewood in one hand and two pheasants in the other.
"Young men, you don't expect me, this old man, to cook for you, do you?"
Old Gu threw the firewood and pheasant on the ground, dusted himself off, sat down on a nearby rock, took out his old pipe from behind Yin, and slowly started smoking.
Ye Feng and the others exchanged glances, feeling a pang of shame. Their food supplies had been gone by last night. The series of unexpected events that morning had left them so shaken they'd almost forgotten to eat. Now, after Old Man Gu's suggestion, their stomachs were indeed rumbling. It just didn't seem right to ask an elderly man like Old Man Gu to gather firewood, catch pheasants, and cook for them, a group of young people. Thinking this, Ye Feng and the other boys stood up and went to gather firewood and start cooking.
After finishing the pheasant feast, Yu Xue pouted and said that she would rather starve than eat anything cooked by Ye Feng and the others again. Ye Feng blushed and stuck out his tongue at Yu Xue and the others.
The early summer sun was scorching, making everyone feel hot and dizzy. Old Man Gu finished his last pipe of tobacco, found a cool spot, and planned to take a nap. Ye Feng and the others, however, had no interest in napping; they were all eager to leave this dilapidated house and return to Guhua Town. They wondered when Mayor Wanggen and his men would come to rescue them, and whether they would have to spend another night there… Each of them was filled with anxious and unsettling thoughts.
"Sitting here like this isn't a solution. I wonder when Mayor Wanggen and the others will come to rescue us!" Cheng Jin began to complain.
"How about this, let's look around and see if there's some secret passage in this house that leads to the outside of the mountain!"
Cheng Jin looked at everyone and made a suggestion.
Ye Feng smiled wryly. It seems that young people nowadays have read too many of Jin Yong's martial arts novels and still think we're making a martial arts movie. It's amazing that he even thought of finding some secret passage. Maybe he'll get a martial arts manual later and find some rare treasures. Honestly, he's still acting like a child at a time like this.
Just as Ye Feng was getting angrier and angrier by Cheng Jin's words, Zheng Qi suddenly spoke up: "Cheng Jin is right. Instead of sitting here waiting for them to come and rescue us, we might as well wander around this house. Maybe there are other passages that lead to the outside of the mountain!" Hearing Zheng Qi's words, everyone couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope again. Since they were already inside the house, it wouldn't be difficult to explore it thoroughly. If they could really find some secret passage, that would be wonderful! Thinking of this, they couldn't help but feel excited and stood up abruptly.
Seeing their excited and thrilled expressions, Mo Han couldn't help but shake his head and give a wry smile.
Led by Zheng Qi, the group headed towards the six courtyards at the back.
Turning past the hall, there was an abandoned little garden behind it. It was already summer, and the garden was overgrown with weeds. Several broken bridges and dilapidated corridors lay across the middle of the garden, making it look dilapidated and spoiling the scenery.
Zheng Qi and his entourage walked through the small garden toward the second room.
Just like the house seen in the first courtyard, the room was empty. Apart from the same dark bluestone slabs, gray and old bluestone brick walls, and high and somewhat empty roof ridge, the whole room looked the same as the seven rooms in the first courtyard: dark, deep, mysterious, and empty.
Zheng Qi and the other eight continued walking deeper and deeper into the village. Gradually, they felt that each village was darker and more desolate than the last.
We finally reached the last house.
Ye Feng and the others couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. Forget about any secret passage, they hadn't even seen a single mouse that could make Meng'er and Yu Xue scream. Their hearts grew heavier and heavier, and their steps became increasingly sluggish.
The main hall of the last courtyard was much more spacious than the halls of the first six courtyards, and it seemed as if there had suddenly been an extra piece of furniture inside. Apart from a few dilapidated and mottled stone pillars, the halls of the first six courtyards were basically empty. But in this last courtyard, there was an unexpected altar.
It was a stone mill altar, carved from a single block of stone. Several rusty, broken candlesticks lay across it, and in the center sat a small, old incense burner with a chipped edge. It seemed something had once been offered here. Looking at the walls of the hall, one could see that someone had scribbled something haphazardly with gray paint, a chaotic mess. Some old, charred pieces of wood lay scattered on the floor, making the entire hall appear filthy and disorderly.
I went into the rooms next door, and apart from seeing the same rooms as the ones in front of me, there were no other new changes.
Zheng Qi and the others sighed and were about to turn back when they suddenly noticed that Ling Bing was standing alone in front of the stone mill altar, looking foolish.
Zheng Qi stepped forward, patted Ling Bing on the shoulder, and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
"Do you remember when I told you that I came here in my dream?" Ling Bing didn't turn to look at Zheng Qi, but stared blankly at the gray-black wall in front of her.
“I remember you said that when we first arrived here, when we were resting fifty meters from the mansion.”
Zheng Qi frowned, turned around to look for Mo Han, and saw that Mo Han was intently looking at the graffiti on the surrounding walls!
At that moment, Zheng Qi suddenly remembered what Mo Han had said to him and Ling Bing that day: "'Just based on what I know, he not only dreamed about this place, but he also came here!' What else does Mo Han know? Otherwise, how could he say that he knew Ling Bing had dreamed about this place and come here? Does he have some secret he hasn't told me yet?"
Thinking this, he decided it would be safer for everyone to leave and return to the first hall in the front, so he could ask Mo Han about it later. Just as Zheng Qi was about to tell everyone to leave,
Suddenly, Ling Bing murmured to herself:
A new song, a cup of wine; the weather of last year, the old pavilion.
When will the setting sun return? The flowers fall helplessly, yet the swallows return, seemingly familiar.
I wander alone along the fragrant path in the small garden.
Everyone was surprised to see Ling Bing suddenly recite Yan Shu's "Huanxi Sha" to himself, and they all stood there staring at him in a daze. "Haha..." Suddenly, Ling Bing threw his head back and laughed loudly. Then, facing the gray wall, he sadly and slowly recited another poem: "The path is sparsely red, the fragrant countryside is covered with green."
The trees on the high platform cast deep shadows.
The spring breeze, oblivious to the ban on willow catkins, fluffs and scatters wildly across the faces of passersby.
Green leaves conceal the oriole, and a red curtain separates the swallows.
The incense burner quietly follows the swirling wisps of smoke.
When I awoke from a sorrowful dream, the setting sun shone on the deep courtyard.
"Ling Bing, what's wrong? Why did you suddenly think of reciting poetry?"
Yu Xue felt a surge of fear, tears welling in her eyes as she rushed forward, grabbing Ling Bing's sleeve and asking a question.
"Isn't it all written on the wall? Didn't you see it?"
Ling Bing slowly turned her head and looked at everyone blankly.
They looked at each other, then glanced over Ling Bing's head and stared at the empty wall in front of them. Apart from a layer of dark mud and a few spiderwebs, there was nothing there.
"Ling Bing, you're tired, let's go back!" Yu Xue pleaded softly, clutching Ling Bing's sleeve tightly.
"Go back, Ling Bing, don't overthink it!"
Zheng Qi also tried to persuade him. The spirit pearl on his chest was faintly heating up, and he began to feel an unease stirring around him.
Suddenly, Ling Bing flung Yu Xue's hand away. Before anyone could react, he strode onto the stone mill altar and frantically began picking at the plaster on the wall.
"Ling Bing, what are you doing? Are you crazy!" Yu Xue screamed.
At this moment, Ye Feng and the others who had been standing there in a daze suddenly woke up and rushed forward with Zheng Qi to pull Ling Bing down from the stone mill altar.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Ling Bing glared angrily at the eyes that were fixed on the wall, struggling with all her might.
"Wake up, Ling Bing! There's nothing there!" Zheng Qi shouted at Ling Bing as he pressed her down, who was struggling.
"No! Yes, there are. These walls are covered with poems, you must believe me!"
Ling Bing pointed at the gray wall and shouted hoarsely to Zheng Qi and the others, while struggling desperately to climb back onto the stone mill altar to scrape off the plaster from the wall.
