Nouvelle d'horreur Azure Heart - Chapitre 5

Chapitre 5

Before it could finish speaking, the chains on the water-suppressing sword vibrated.

The dragon opened its eyes wide and stared straight at it. "What?"

“My name is Bai Chi.” Chi thought carefully and felt that he had remembered correctly, “because I am a white Chi dragon…” it repeated and added.

The dragon's body trembled, and the sharp blade immediately pierced its flesh, grinding away its scales. Crimson blood and golden scales flowed with the water to the dragon's face, and it instinctively stepped back to avoid it.

"Who named you that?" The dragon rubbed its head against the sword, speaking casually.

"That's what the dragons in the Heavenly Palace used to call me." Chi looked at the dragon's battered body and couldn't help but move a little closer.

"Those guys are still the same bullies." The dragon snorted in dissatisfaction.

Chi tilted his head, not quite understanding. "But the fish in the pond call me that too. They say it's a nice name."

The dragon's eyes immediately sharpened. "You're the water official! How dare you let those little demons bully you!" Its anger caused the blade of the water-suppressing sword to pierce even deeper.

"You, you shouldn't get excited..." Chi said nervously.

The dragon immediately turned its head away. "Who's getting agitated? Tch, being a fellow dragon like you is truly shameful!"

The dragon coiled itself up and lay prone at the bottom of the pool. "That's what they all say... Why is that?"

The dragon sighed heavily, "Idiot!"

"..." The dragon still didn't understand. It looked up, watching the golden dragon constantly adjust its posture to prevent the water-suppressing sword from piercing its vitals. Then, it softly said, "I think you won't bully me..."

...

After hearing the details, all the demons wore serious expressions.

"Oh, I know! That dragon is the one Zhou Chu used to eliminate the three evils!" the carp exclaimed in sudden realization.

Catfish shook its head, "The young man is ignorant. Director Zhou is from the next village..."

“Hmm, I heard my master say that there’s a dragon imprisoned there, apparently for violating some heavenly law.” Ting Cong, sitting on the shore, thought for a moment and then spoke.

"Ah... has your master ever mentioned me?" the fox asked, leaning closer with a lovesick expression.

"You're dreaming!" Tingcong retorted dismissively.

"So, what are the heavenly rules?" the inquisitive crab asked, brandishing its claws.

"There are so many, like treason, colluding with demons, stealing immortal herbs, and becoming a mountain king..." River Shrimp sighed, reciting the list of dishes.

“And the most common situation—” the river shrimp squinted.

All the demons sighed, then said in unison, "—Yearning for the mortal world..."

"Thinking of worldly desires? Is that a serious crime?" Chi scratched his head, puzzled.

"You're too old! Think of those Seven Fairies and the Third Holy Mother, weren't they all miserable?" River Shrimp shook his head.

"Let alone gods, even demons would commit this a serious crime," Catfish added.

"Did you hear that?" Tingcong asked the fox with a smile.

The fox turned its head away, looking at the sky, "Love can conquer all..."

"Tch..." The demons scoffed once again.

"Then, what heavenly law did that dragon break?" Chi asked curiously.

"Thinking of the mortal world?" The carp and the blackfish exchanged a glance.

"No, no..." The catfish wriggled its tail. "The laws in heaven are very simple. If someone rebels, they're just arrested and banished to the mortal realm. As for things like longing for the mortal world, at most they'll use mountains or towers to suppress it. It's not that complicated, with chains and water-suppressing swords..."

"oh……"

"Then I'll apply to use San Francisco as the press..." the fox said with a hopeful look on his face.

"What is that?" Chi asked, completely bewildered.

"Hehe...Speaking of San Francisco, I used to..."

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!"

Later, the dragon developed the habit of going to that pond every day.

"May I ask, what heavenly law have you broken?" Chi looked at the dragon with innocent and curious eyes.

The dragon gritted its teeth, "What's it to you!"

The dragon hugged its paws. "But the fish in my pond really want to know..."

"What's it to them?"

Chi scratched his head. "I don't know either, but they really like gossip..."

The dragon shifted its body impatiently, and then its golden scales were scraped off by the sword blade and chains, and blood spread layer by layer.

Chi frowned and shrank back. "The fish in our area say you weren't punished for treason or lust..."

The dragon looked at it and said with a hint of approval, "Oh, they know quite a lot."

“Because…” Chi immediately repeated the names of the tower, the mountain, and San Francisco. Then, the chains on the water-suppressing sword made a series of loud noises.

"Haha... Stop talking!... I'm prone to getting cramps like this!" the dragon complained.

"A cramp?" Chi asked, puzzled.

"Being tied up like this, of course you'll get cramps if you move around!"

Why were you tied up?

The dragon sighed helplessly, "Alright, alright, I'll tell you then, you're so annoying!" It began to say nonchalantly, "I used to be a water official too. Once, I went to the East Sea to have a private duel with my colleagues, but two demons caused trouble in the waters under my jurisdiction, flooding a town. When my superiors investigated, I was found to have abandoned my post, neglected my duties, and even had a private duel, so this is what happened... Do you understand?"

Chi nodded. "May I ask? Why did you go to a private fight?"

"Why?" A strange emotion flickered in the dragon's eyes. "...Because of boredom, probably..."

"Bored?" Chi thought about it carefully and realized that it was almost never bored. The noise from the fish, shrimp and crabs in the pond was so loud that it didn't have time to feel bored.

"Hey, you're not allowed to come here again!" the dragon suddenly threatened fiercely.

"Huh?" Chi's eyes widened.

“You always spout nonsense, it gives me cramps!” the dragon said, turning its head to the side.

"..."

...

The dragon returned to the pond and told the other demons what it had heard.

“Oh… a private fight…” the carp and the blackfish exclaimed.

“Oh… speaking of that, I know…” the catfish said, stroking its whiskers.

"Why?"

"The two demons who caused trouble back then were a green snake and a white snake... The white snake was sealed in Leifeng Pagoda in the village just over there..." the catfish explained.

"The tower? That means the White Snake longed for the mortal world~" the crab realized.

"Fox, be careful..." all the demons said in unison to the fox on the shore.

The fox continued to look at the sky with its head tilted to the side, "Ah... if it's Ji You GG personally taking action, I don't care..."

“Master can’t be bothered with you…” Tingcong sighed, pouring cold water on it.

"You brat! What do you mean? Want to fight?" the fox raised its furry paw and roared.

"Afraid of you?!" Tingcong retorted defiantly.

Just as the man and the fox were arguing fiercely, the dragon sighed as it watched the bamboo leaves fall.

"What's wrong?" River Shrimp went over and asked.

"The dragon told me I'm not allowed to go to that pond anymore..." Chi said weakly, resting his head on his hand.

"Why? You're all dragons, you're partners, right?" the crab said.

"It said I was talking nonsense and it gave it a cramp."

"Cramps?" The catfish swam over. "That's because of a calcium deficiency!"

"Then what should we do?" Chi blinked.

"Eat fish!" the blackfish answered without hesitation.

The carp immediately slapped its tail, yelling, "You're a fish, okay?!"

"But..." Blackfish said, her eyes brimming with tears, "You really need to take calcium supplements if you're deficient..."

"Ah!" The carp immediately swung its tail again.

The river shrimp looked at the situation with disdain, then asked quite rationally, "It said you're talking nonsense? What did you say?"

The dragon said innocently, "I was just telling it what the old catfish and the fox said last time... Why is it having cramps?"

The demons fell silent instantly, then exclaimed in unison, moved, "So not all dragons are incapable of understanding..."

The dragon still didn't understand; it held its paws and stared with innocent eyes.

"It's alright, it's alright, you can continue..." the catfish concluded.

"Really?" Chi asked, half believing and half doubting.

"Really!" the demons exclaimed in unison.

The fox's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Ah, this reminds me of when Ji You and I were together. Men can be very dishonest sometimes..."

"Hehe... to be honest, I once..."

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!!!"
