Incident Lingxia - Chapitre 14
Liu Wei pushed Mao Mao forward, and although he looked unwilling, he said in a sullen voice, "The vengeful spirit of the child you abandoned is now inside this woman."
Mao Mao's tears suddenly flowed down her face. She hugged the woman and cried, "I'm sorry, child, it's not that Mommy doesn't want you!" If it's not that she doesn't want you, then what is it? Of course, this question can no longer be investigated, nor is it ever investigated by anyone.
Mirror also hugged the mother and daughter sadly, and the three of them cried together. Liu Wei stood to the side, his expression shifting between anger and uncertainty.
Even though our lives have missed each other, being able to embrace each other like this is a kind of happiness in itself.
The doll sniffed, and like a child, straightened her chest and resolutely went out the door.
Big M warned, "Tong Mei is incredibly powerful; don't let her see through your disguise!"
The doll let out a distant "Oh".
Mao Mao collapsed into Jingzi's arms, crying. Liu Wei pulled her close and muttered resentfully, "From now on, you're only allowed to cry in my arms!"
An ant quietly landed on Mao Mao's head, followed by a second, then a third...
47.
Ants are the oldest inhabitants of the earth, and they despise human ignorance and arrogance from the bottom of their hearts.
The more ignorant they are, the more domineering they become, trying to change nature in their own way and make nature adapt to human survival.
While ants have already begun using flight for mating, humans have yet to evolve from terrestrial mating. Ants, especially reproductive ones, can easily locate geomagnetic lines and use them for protection, building their nests at the intersections of these lines. Humans, on the other hand, build nests and houses haphazardly in any place, completely disregarding the corrosive effects of harmful magnetic fields.
The ants are ambitious.
The ants, full of ambition, believed that the era of ants ruling the earth was long overdue.
The ants have long disliked humans.
Therefore, the ants naively viewed this small-scale offensive as a trial run before a large-scale war.
The ants crawled down from the ceiling, and Mao Mao jumped up with a scream.
"Don't move!" Liu Wei held Mao Mao down. Several infected people rushed over, and Mao Mao quickly stopped. They wandered out of the door again, their bodies without souls, just wandering around like this.
The ants were multiplying, appearing in the wards, corridors, open spaces outside the hospital, and on the hospital walls.
"What should I do?" Mirror shouted. As soon as she opened her mouth, it was filled with ants. After chewing a few times, Mirror spat out a clump of black stuff.
Big M frowned, shook off the ants on his body, and looked up at everyone. Among them, only Ah Ming and Old Li were free of ants.
Old Li was the first human to be bitten. He was highly venomous, and the ants, being clever, dared not eat him. But why didn't they bite Ah Ming?
Big M focused his mind and meditated, Ah Ming...
Big M had a bad feeling, but now was not the time to deal with Ah Ming.
It leaped up, climbed onto the wall, and let out a long howl towards the window, the calls of the six spirit beasts resounding through the sky.
Immediately afterwards, Big M transformed into a giant anteater.
It was a trick; Big M didn't actually eat the ants. The ants were a little confused, but they quickly figured out Big M's trick by smelling and sensing the magnetic field.
Innate instinct.
Winter has arrived, and there are no praying mantises, nor are there many pangolins or anteaters in the city. But there's one place where they are—
The zoo cages were smashed open, and strange bird calls first echoed through the city, followed by the whooshing sound of wings.
A flock of serpentine birds flew in through the window, followed by several gorillas, then two baboons, then a pangolin burst through the wall, and finally three anteaters. The ward instantly turned into a zoo, in complete chaos. Big M yelled, "Jump out the window! Get out of here!"
After saying that, he jumped down first.
Liu Wei followed with Mao Mao in his arms, followed by Jingzi and A Ming at the rear.
After everyone jumped off the building, they remained motionless. The snake-skin birds circled down from the sky. It was a rare treat to have such a delicious meal in winter, and everyone ate to their heart's content.
The ants scattered in panic, searching for the nearest hole to escape.
No matter how ancient or intelligent a species is, it cannot dominate the Earth if it does not have a way to defeat its natural enemies.
The ability to defeat natural enemies is the main reason why humans are superior to other species.
Tongtong's face showed a look of panic. The cries of the snake-skin birds in the sky made her feel flustered. She waved her hand suddenly, and several snake-skin birds fell down, their flesh and blood mangled.
Although Tongtong possessed extraordinary magical power, she still couldn't shake off her ant-like instincts. Panicked and somewhat enraged, she roared angrily, turned around, and transformed into a brown light, leading her troops back to her underground palace.
Upon reaching the underground palace, she still felt agitated and angrily slapped Uncle Fu across the face. Uncle Fu immediately knelt on the ground, the walls of the tomb shook, and a pangolin poked its head out. Tongtong struck it with her palm, shattering the pangolin's skull.
Tongtong's eyes turned blood red, and she angrily erected a barrier around the tomb.
"Listen! Ksitigarbha! I'm not Tongmei if I don't pulverize you!" Tongtong placed her hands in front of her chest in hatred, chanting incantations.
Ah Ming's eyes turned red.

Ah Ming's eyes were bloodshot, filled with anger, but also with a hint of helplessness and sorrow. He let out a long howl, leaped three zhang high into the air, then suddenly landed, grabbed Maomao, and disappeared in an instant.
Liu Wei exclaimed in surprise and got up to chase after them, but he was surrounded by the infected people and pinned to the ground.
Sigh! Concern leads to confusion!
Mirror yelled to distract the infected, while Big M tried to pull away the infected around Liu Wei. Old Li broke free of his ropes and disappeared.
Liu Wei's ear was severed, and blood streamed down his neck, soaking his collar.
Big M shouted into the mirror, "Meet at Mao Mao's house!"
The doll walked out of the neighborhood and realized she didn't know the way at all. She wandered aimlessly through the streets among the homeless bodies. The winter sun was dazzling; she had never walked so openly in the sunlight since birth.
She took out a red bead, which reflected a dazzling light in the sunlight. The bead possessed a subtle magnetic force, guiding her to turn when she should turn and to go straight when she should go straight. This red bead was the key to unlocking the barrier, and this key would find the lock by itself.
A white sheet was hanging from the building across the street, with the word SOS written on it in black ink. Some people were trapped on the rooftop, waving their coats, hoping that the rescue team would see them. The virus was rampant, and humans, like ants and cockroaches, hid in corners they thought were safe.
The red bead turned blue in front of a unique building, and the doll knew they had arrived.
She cautiously looked around. The infected were no longer running at high speed, but wandering around listlessly. No matter how advanced the species were, they were nothing more than carbohydrates. Their soulless bodies could only tear and bite, but did not know how to eat. The infected's bodily functions were declining in all directions.
"Little infant spirit!!" A loud shout came from behind. In the blink of an eye, A-Ming stood in front of the doll, grabbing Mao Mao's hair with his left hand. Mao Mao grimaced in pain but dared not struggle, for fear of attracting infected people.
"Let go of my mother!" The doll's fists were clenched tightly together.
A-Ming said disdainfully, "The person who gave birth to you is your mother. This woman gave up giving birth to you, which means she didn't want to be your mother. She is not your mother."
Ah Ming then seemed to transform into a different person, quickly saying, "That wasn't what I said!" Then, in his original tone, he said, "Use that blue bead to exchange for this woman's life!"
The doll clenched the beads in her hand: "What do I want to do?"
Ah Ming sneered: "None of your business."
The doll hesitated for a moment, then slowly reached out her hand.
"Child! No! Don't give it to him! He's been controlled by bad people!" Mao Mao screamed. A Ming slapped Mao Mao across the face. Mao Mao suddenly remembered that day when A Ming told her at the elevator entrance, "Auntie, there's something unclean in your house." What a pure face he had then! What clear eyes he had!
"I..." The doll withdrew her hand again. Ah Ming was furious. He grabbed Mao Mao, jumped onto a low gatehouse, and saw a group of infected people swaying below. "You won't give it to me? If you don't give it to me, I'll throw her down!"
"No!" the doll shook her lips and cried out, "I'll give it to you!"
The doll slowly walked towards the gatehouse, her right hand, hidden in her pocket, silently grasping the green flying bead.
She suddenly took flight, tilted her hand, stuffed the blue bead into Mao Mao's hand, then picked up A Ming and flew straight upwards.
Enraged, A-Ming swung his sword at the doll's head, causing its brains to splatter and the doll's soul to drift away. Momo couldn't see it, but she didn't care. She took a deep breath, threw the blue bead at the magnetic field barrier, and then rushed down from the gatehouse. Momo's running attracted many of the already sluggish infected. By the time they got close, the magnetic field barrier had been restored. Momo breathed a long sigh of relief, then suddenly felt something flowing out from behind her. She quickly pulled out her backpack, and from the doll inside, a thick, yellow, putrid liquid oozed out, and the doll deflated instantly.
The doll's soul drifted down from the sky, sunlight piercing through her naked soul. In the distance, a melodious flute tune seemed to drift, low and deep, like a lullaby. Then, a little girl of seven or eight years old, carrying a flute, floated over.
The little girl said, "I am the Flute Spirit, who takes children's souls to an eternal and beautiful land. What's your name? I'll take you there!"
The doll thought for a moment and said, "I don't have a name."
A doll is just the name of a toy. Her life ended before it even began. Her name was replaced by the name of the toy, her gender was defined by the gender of the toy, and even her appearance was the same. From the very first second of her existence, she was an abandoned toy, never receiving even a shred of affection.
“I have no name, and I don’t want to go to your country. I just want to do one last thing for her.” After she finished speaking, she flew up and landed on Ah Ming’s head, sucking hard on the hair on his head.
Amidst Amin's scream, she transformed into a wisp of dust and a puff of smoke. In just a moment, the dust and smoke dissipated, and a golden maple leaf drifted down from the sky.
There were no maple trees, but maple leaves drifted down. The leaves stopped in mid-air, flashed with golden light, and transformed into a tiny person the size of a leaf. The tiny person gradually grew bigger and bigger until it finally landed on the ground.
Dressed in a golden silk robe, with a serene and benevolent face and eyes full of heroic spirit, the demon-subduing golden staff stood to his right, jumping a few times as if stretching its limbs, and then surprisingly spoke: "Where is Xiaozhu?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled and said, "It's busy with other things."
He looked up at the sky, then at Ah Ming, and without saying a word, simply said, "Let's go."
The Demon-Subduing Golden Staff followed behind Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, hopping a few steps before finally retreating and giving Ah Ming a hard knock on the head. Then it followed closely behind Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva again.
As A-Ming gazed into the distance, his vision grew increasingly blurry, and he felt as if Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was walking on the street, yet not walking on the street at all.
On the other side of the city, while using his magic to control the spread of the virus for Liu Wei, Big M looked up at the sky, closed his eyes, and smiled.
Who in this world could have imagined that a doll, with its tiny soul, could awaken Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who was in seclusion to uphold filial piety...
