Chapitre 91

Jiang Jianhuan returned to the living room and was greeted by a fragrant aroma.

"Have a glass of water first." Su Mo handed her the glass beside her. The water was at the perfect temperature. Jiang Jianhuan was thirsty after waking up, and she drank most of it in one gulp before remembering.

Where did you come from?

"It was burned," Su Mo gestured to the kitchen and then explained.

"I added some purified water."

"Oh." Jiang Jianhuan nodded. He still remembered her habits perfectly.

Tongfuji's seafood congee is different from other restaurants; it's packed with ingredients, and the shrimp are all freshly bought and peeled that day, making them incredibly springy and fragrant.

Jiang Jianhuan was very particular when she was in college. Her family was well-off, and the couple had a daughter late in life, so they spoiled her rotten and raised her in a very luxurious way, choosing the best for her to eat, wear, and use.

Although Jiang Jianhuan doesn't have the habits of those rich kids, she is still a bit spoiled in some ways. She prefers to buy most of her belongings and food from a single brand, and if she can't find it, she'd rather not have it.

Back when they were still together, Jiang Jianhuan wanted to eat these things, so Su Mo went all the way across Jiangcheng to buy them for her. In the dead of winter, he held them in his arms, and they were still warm when he took them out.

Jiang Jianhuan's empty stomach was already half full after a bowl of porridge, but he still finished the crab roe buns and the last of the osmanthus glutinous rice balls. When he couldn't eat anymore, Su Mo took the bowl from him and continued eating.

"Is it good?" Jiang Jianhuan asked, resting his chin on his hand. Su Mo nodded.

"I'm so full," she said again, looking bored. Su Mo finished the last bite, wiped her mouth with a tissue, and looked up at her.

"Shall I rub it for you?"

"No!" Jiang Jianhuan immediately became alert. In the past, it would be common for him to rub her after eating too much, but now that Su Mo had just experienced the taste of meat, Jiang Jianhuan was instinctively wary and wanted to stay as far away from him as possible.

"I'm full, you can go back now."

Su Mo paused in her work of clearing away the dishes.

"Are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?"

"I'm going to sleep." Jiang Jianhuan rolled her eyes.

"You just woke up," Su Mo said expressionlessly.

"......"

"Come with me to take out the trash." He picked up the pile of takeout boxes, but Jiang Jianhuan was reluctant.

"Needs someone to accompany you when you take out the trash—"

"You didn't just eat too much and are just taking a walk to digest."

Jiang Jianhuan remained sitting there lazily. Su Mo took her hand, pulled her up from the chair, and led her outside.

"Hey, I'll grab the keys."

Summer is approaching, and the nighttime temperature is very comfortable. Jiang Jianhuan's rented house is in a bad location, surrounded by dilapidated buildings, but there is a moat next to it, with trees planted on both sides and the road is very clean.

They walked hand in hand down the street, one in front of the other. Jiang Jianhuan looked at his back and suddenly said something.

"Hey, it feels like you're walking a dog."

Su Mo laughed.

"That's right, a lazy dog."

"You're so annoying." She went up and kicked Su Mo.

He smiled and pretended to dodge, then tightened his grip on her hand, loosened it slightly, and then intertwined his fingers with hers.

"By the way, yesterday one of the girls in our office got drunk—the one from Northeast China who got me drunk." Jiang Jianhuan said casually, then made a point of clarifying to clear himself of any suspicion of being part of the "I have a friend who is me" series.

"Hmm?" Su Mo responded, and Jiang Jianhuan continued speaking.

"Then she got into the car and felt dizzy, so she gave the driver her ex-boyfriend's address, and the two of them ended up doing something they shouldn't have!" Jiang Jianhuan said in the sensationalist tone of a well-known browser news article, her eyes widening slightly as if to match, speaking with righteous indignation.

"Right now, our entire office is criticizing her ex-boyfriend for taking advantage of her vulnerability; he's a scumbag. What do you think?"

Chapter 42

Su Mo was stunned for a moment, then reacted and turned to look at her with a half-smile. Jiang Jianhuan guiltily avoided his gaze and lowered her head.

“I think so too.” He nodded, earnestly agreeing.

"If what you just said is true."

"Huh?" Jiang Jianhuan was a little out of sync with him, but she still bravely continued acting until the end.

“Of course, if other situations arise, then that’s a different story,” Su Mo said, changing the subject.

Jiang Jianhuan's mind raced, and he managed to catch up with difficulty.

"For example?"

"For example, if a girl drops a strawberry from her clothes under the bed and insists on picking it up while crying and making a fuss, or if she deliberately lies down next to someone who is doing something seriously, that's wrong of her."

As soon as Su Mo finished speaking without stopping, Jiang Jianhuan's face immediately flushed red.

"I didn't do it on purpose! -- You're talking nonsense!"

"I didn't say anything about you," Su Mo said slowly, glancing at her.

"I was just using an analogy."
