Chapitre 155

Wandering through the winding, desolate paths of the immortal realm, the more they went, the more desolate the places became.

Upon arriving at a certain place, before they could even see what the Venerable One had done, he stepped inside and vanished completely.

Barrier!

Upon entering the barrier, the Venerable One ascended directly into the air. Before him stood a tall tower, completely sealed off without any windows.

Looking down, you can't see the bottom of the tower at all; the ground is just a dark expanse that seems to have no end.

Finally, when His Majesty flew to the top of the tower, the light gauze fluttered, and the decorations were surprisingly warm and inviting.

She landed gently, looked around, reached out and brushed aside the veil that was fluttering in front of her, and stepped inside.

Upon entering, the room was slightly dark. The Venerable One walked familiarly to the innermost part, pushed open the door, and with a creak, the hoarse sound was eerie in this deserted place.

The door opened, and a sudden blast of icy air blew in, so cold it felt like being in an ice cellar.

His Excellency seemed oblivious to the presence of others and slowly walked inside.

As His Excellency entered, the lamps on the walls lit up one by one, and the flickering candlelight made the dark steps appear even more eerie and terrifying.

His expression remained unchanged as he walked down the path, step by step, in a measured and rhythmic manner.

The steps spiraled downwards, seemingly without end, as if they were extending all the way to hell.

After an unknown amount of time, the steps finally came to an end, revealing a flat bluestone ground.

His Majesty continued walking forward, and the candles continued to light up automatically one by one. It was a large room with no windows or doors. The only entrance was also the exit, which was the place His Majesty had just entered from.

As he walked forward, the Venerable One finally stopped and looked up. In front of him, there was a phantom sphere of light floating around, with various colored lights constantly rotating, as if it were alive.

Seeing the active light on the orb, the Venerable One finally smiled, raised his hand, and took out a small bottle from somewhere. After uncorking the bottle, several wisps of mist suddenly emerged from it.

As soon as the fog appeared, some people stood still in mid-air, bewildered, while others frantically tried to escape, darting left and right.

However, there was no chance at all. Suddenly, a strong suction force emanated from the light sphere, and those wisps of mist were all sucked into the light sphere in a flash.

Only then did a faint, mournful roar emerge from the mist. Upon closer listening, one would discover that it was the lament of a human in extreme pain.

The mist was sucked into the sphere of light, but some stubborn white mist still tried to break through, striving towards the edge of the sphere of light.

A face emerged, yet it was still enveloped in the faint light of the sphere, as if a thin veil had been placed over a person's head, making the facial features only vaguely discernible.

After the first one escaped, the other white mists seemed to react immediately and fled, trying to break free of the sphere of light.

The impact caused human faces to float up around the sphere of light, but those faces could only struggle helplessly, desperately trying to break through the thin barrier of the sphere of light, but they could not find a way.

His Excellency snorted coldly, completely ignoring the white mist that was trying to escape.

Once you're here, there's absolutely no way you can escape.

As expected, the white mist's struggle lasted only a short while. At first, there were shrill, chilling screams and cries, but after a short while, those faces could only helplessly open their mouths, trying to shout something, but they couldn't make a sound.

Finally, one by one, they were pulled back by the invisible force within the sphere of light, like people trapped in a quagmire, struggling helplessly as the endless swamp swallowed them up.

The light inside the sphere flowed slowly, as if the rotation was not smooth. This feeling was like a person who had eaten a full meal but had not yet fully digested and absorbed the nutrients, feeling languid.

After a while, the light spun faster and faster, gradually returning to its original state.

There was no difference, except that the light was a little brighter, which brought a gratified smile to the Venerable One's face.

"Rest well, the Immortal Realm needs you." The Venerable One narrowed his eyes slightly and said softly, "The Demon God must be eliminated now, you must recover your consciousness as soon as possible."

Looking up at the shimmering orb of light, a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes as he coldly said, "The realms of demons and monsters should not have existed independently long ago; they can only be appendages of the immortal realm."

After His Excellency finished speaking, the light sphere paused for a moment, then spun even more joyfully.

This made the Venerable One laugh: "You're happy too, aren't you? So, hurry up and regain consciousness... You don't want the Immortal Realm to be trampled underfoot by others, do you?"

The light sphere flickered, as if echoing the Venerable One's words.

The Venerable One nodded in satisfaction: "You all recover well, and I will continue to bring 'nourishment' over."

After saying this, His Excellency turned and left the tower.

On the other side, inside the Wuchen Palace, Liu Lanyan sat cross-legged on the bed, with Mo Yun sitting not far from her. The two of them were completely surrounded by the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

Liu Lanyan breathed slowly, cultivating to restore her depleted strength.

After a long while, Liu Lanyan opened her eyes and moved her somewhat stiff body. She had regained some of her strength, but she was exhausted both physically and mentally.

"I need to go see my brother, I have something to do." Some things can't be put off.

"I'll have Peng Zhen invite my brother over," Mo Yun said directly. He didn't want Liu Lanyan to wander around in her tired state.

Liu Lanyan thought about it and felt that this was a good idea, but no one else could come to Wuchen Palace: "Then let's go to Wuchen Residence."

"No need," Mo Yun said directly, dispersing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth that enveloped them. This spiritual energy was all gathered by his power so that Liu Lanyan could cultivate.

"Not an outsider."

After hearing this, Liu Lanyan looked up abruptly. After her initial shock, she looked at the Demon God with gentle eyes and said nothing.

At this moment, any language is superfluous.

The demon god got up and walked to the outer perimeter of the Wuchen Palace to tell Peng Zhen to invite Liu Wenxiu over.

Because Peng Zhen personally went to invite them, the journey was naturally much faster.

After entering Wuchen Residence, Liu Wenxiu was first shocked by the tranquil environment. He never expected that there would be such a place in the demon realm. This place is almost as good as the immortal realm.

"Where is Lan Yan?" Liu Wenxiu looked around but did not continue walking forward.

This is Wuchen Residence, so he shouldn't wander around aimlessly.

No matter how good the Demon God is to Liu Lanyan, as Liu Lanyan's brother, he cannot take advantage of his sister's lack of manners.

He couldn't make things difficult for Liu Lanyan.

"The Dustless Palace," Peng Zhen said directly, revealing the location of Liu Lanyan.

Liu Wenxiu nodded. He knew what the Wuchen Palace was; it was a place that no one except the Venerable Lord could enter.

The fact that Liu Lanyan was there shows how much the Lord values her.

"Where should I wait for Lanyan?" Liu Wenxiu asked politely.

Peng Zhen looked at Liu Wenxiu and nodded secretly. It was truly Liu Lanyan's blessing to have such a brother.

Even after learning about the relationship between the Venerable Lord and Liu Lanyan, he was not afraid, even though he was the Supreme Demon God, and still protected his sister.

They confronted the demon god, refusing to yield an inch.

After confirming the Lord's intentions, she did not rely on her sister to make unreasonable demands on the Lord.

Even here, he still followed the rules and didn't feel like he had any special privileges.

Peng Zhen just didn't understand. They were both surnamed Liu, so why was there such a big difference?

"No need, the Lord has instructed us to go directly to the Wuchen Palace," Peng Zhen said with a smile. He also admired Liu Wenxiu.

This answer was completely unexpected by Liu Wenxiu. After a moment of surprise, he nodded and followed Peng Zhen to the Wuchen Palace.

Upon reaching the outer perimeter of the Wuchen Palace, Peng Zhen gestured for Liu Wenxiu to enter, saying, "I can only go this far. Just keep going along this path."

Liu Wenxiu nodded: "Thank you."

After saying that, he went inside.

At the end of the road, he saw the demon god waiting there. Upon seeing him, the demon god said quite normally, "Come with me."

After saying that, he turned around and led Liu Wenxiu to the side.

Liu Wenxiu followed behind the Demon God in silence, and soon they arrived at the hall.

“Brother.” Liu Lanyan stood up immediately upon seeing Liu Wenxiu.

"What's wrong, girl?" Liu Wenxiu took two quick steps to greet her, knowing that Liu Lanyan wouldn't have come to him like this unless there was something special going on.

"I've taken care of everything, brother. Go and keep an eye on things. I feel much more at ease with you here." Liu Lanyan didn't hide anything from the Demon God and spoke directly.

Liu Wenxiu's face lit up with surprise: "Father and Mother are already..."

"Yes." Liu Lanyan nodded heavily, assuring them, "It's alright now, but the recovery will depend on you all."

The reason Liu Lanyan said this was to tell Liu Wenxiu that she would not leave the demon realm and would stay by the side of the demon god.

Liu Wenxiu glanced at the Demon God, then nodded: "I understand."

"Brother, thank you for your trouble." The original plan was for her to help her parents recover after leaving the demon realm, but now that she can no longer leave the demon realm, the whole plan has changed.

Before he could finish speaking, Liu Wenxiu flicked his forehead: "What trouble are you talking about?"

Liu Lanyan's face scrunched up from the flick, which made Liu Wenxiu laugh heartily: "You also need to be careful. If anything happens, be sure to send me a message."

"Don't worry, I'm not a child anymore." Liu Lanyan knew that Liu Wenxiu agreed when she heard him say that.

Liu Wenxiu glanced at the silent demon god beside him. Although the demon god had been sitting next to Liu Lanyan without any intimate gestures, his gaze had been gently fixed on her.

Liu Wenxiu was reassured by the demon god's actions: "Okay, don't worry."

As he spoke, Liu Wenxiu reached out and ruffled Liu Lanyan's long hair: "Be careful."

After giving one more instruction, Liu Wenxiu didn't linger. He wanted to see his parents as soon as possible and explain to them why he had to stay away from the demon realm.

This explanation isn't that simple either.

Mo Yun watched Liu Wenxiu get up and followed him out. After getting away from Liu Lanyan, Liu Wenxiu didn't turn his head and said to Mo Yun beside him, "Take good care of Lanyan. This girl is too stubborn. She doesn't like to talk about anything and is used to swallowing all her bitterness herself."

As Liu Wenxiu spoke, he smiled wryly, "It's not that I talk too much, Lanyan, I'm just really worried about you."

“I understand,” Mo Yun said sincerely. “I know Lan Yan’s personality very well, and I will not let her be in danger. I will do everything in my power to protect her until—the end of my life.”

Mo Yun's words made Liu Wenxiu stop in his tracks, turn around, and stare intently at Mo Yun.

Mo Yun did not flinch, meeting Liu Wenxiu's eyes directly and facing him calmly.

After a long silence, Liu Wenxiu nodded: "Okay, I believe you, brother."

As he spoke, he reached out and patted Mo Yun's shoulder heavily.

Without saying anything more, he turned around and flew directly down from the Dustless Palace.

Watching the figure disappear into the clouds, Mo Yun smiled gently: "Lan Yan, you will be very happy."

She is truly blessed to have loving family members.

He turned around and quickly went back, not wanting Liu Lanyan to wait any longer.
