Глава 404

Chen Xiao was a cunning fellow. He didn't dare to give the gift to Zhu Rong himself. He left it in the coffee shop and then ran away. He had Champagne deliver it to Zhu Rong and her husband. As soon as Zhu Rong saw the gift, she was so angry that she cursed Chen Xiao as a bastard.

The problem was that Gonggong, standing nearby, unconsciously revealed a wicked smirk, looking at the set of "toys" with a hint of eager anticipation. Zhurong couldn't catch Chen Xiao, but she saw her husband's lewd smile. All her anger had to be borne by poor Gonggong.

"Dripping wax? Damn it! You like dripping wax, don't you! Fine! Let's see if it's your mother dripping wax, or your mother dripping wax!!" Zhu Rong threatened fiercely.

Gonggong was utterly enamored with Zhurong. He spent the entire day carefully coaxing his arrogant wife. That evening, while the two were in the shop, they couldn't help but feel a surge of desire again, thinking about that large box of "toys."

This enraged Zhu Rong, and Gonggong was about to say something to appease him. Suddenly, his expression changed, and he abruptly turned to look at the shop entrance. Zhu Rong's expression also turned serious. He jumped down from his high stool, and the couple stood together. Zhu Rong frowned and said in a low voice, "Which old friend has arrived? Please come in!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the shop door opened silently and automatically.

Outside the door, a tall, thin figure stood in the darkness. Despite the sweltering heat, he wore a long black overcoat and had light blond curly hair. His face was pale, with a large, hooked nose and thin lips. Most strikingly, he wore a leather eyepatch over his left eye! Clearly, he was one-eyed.

Upon seeing the person outside the door, both Zhu Rong and Gong Gong's expressions immediately hardened! Gong Gong instinctively took a step forward, using his burly body to block his wife, and said in a deep voice, "It's you?"

The one-eyed man outside the door chuckled softly, his voice sharp, and then said in a low voice in English, "What's wrong, gentlemen? You don't seem so happy to see an old friend!"

Zhu Rong curled her lip and said coldly, "It's been many years. I only heard that you went to Africa, and I thought you died there."

The one-eyed man snorted, "I have too many debts on my shoulders. Some are owed to me, and some I owe others! So many debts remain unsettled. How could I dare to die!"

Gonggong took a deep breath and frowned, saying, "So, you've come here today to settle scores?"

The one-eyed man seemed to smile: "Don't say that, we're all old friends, let's catch up first! Don't you Chinese have a saying, 'A friend comes from afar, you should be very happy,' right?"

Zhu Rong, with her fiery temper, sneered and shouted, "Stop your fucking nonsense! After all these years, you're still talking so furtively, not straightforward at all! What do you want? Draw up your rules! Do you think I'm afraid of you? What a joke!"

The one-eyed man was silent for a few seconds, then extended a finger and casually traced two lines on the door panel. Wherever his finger touched, the glass on the door slowly melted away!

"This isn't the right place. Let's find somewhere else." The one-eyed man chuckled softly. "We'll settle our score later!"

After saying that, he flicked the hem of his trench coat, turned around and left! Zhu Rong and Gong Gong chased after him to the door, only to see that the one-eyed man's figure was already far away at the end of the deserted street.

Gonggong glanced at Zhurong: "I feel something's not right. This guy hasn't appeared for years, and now he suddenly shows up..."

"What's there to be afraid of!" Zhu Rong's eyes flashed with hatred. "He's coming to settle scores with us? Humph, I'm going to settle scores with him! If it weren't for his betrayal back then, our whole group wouldn't have died in Africa!"

Gonggong sighed, looked at his wife, and said softly, "Zhurong, after all these years, do you still not let go of those things from the service society?"

Zhu Rong's face turned cold: "I can't let go! If you can let go, I'll be on my own!"

Having said that, she leaped away and chased after him. Gonggong sighed and had no choice but to follow his wife in a long stride.

Hearing the footsteps behind him, the one-eyed man knew that Zhu Rong and his wife had caught up. A strange smile appeared on his lips, but he suddenly quickened his pace. His figure was like a gust of wind, weaving through the streetlights along the roadside, like a ghost! In the end, his black trench coat was open, and his figure was like a large bat flying in the night.

Zhu Rong and Gong Gong followed closely behind, their movements light and agile.

All three were formidable individuals, and they quickly ran far out of the abandoned street, heading south.

They quickly ran through seven or eight blocks, almost out of K City, until a river appeared in front of them, blocking their way south. This river is a landmark in the south of K City, and according to regional divisions, crossing this river generally means officially leaving the city.

Just as the one-eyed man reached the riverbank, his figure floated lightly across the water, landing on the opposite bank, Gonggong suddenly realized: "Why did that fellow bring us so far away?"

Zhu Rong snorted: "You mean, there's an ambush? With the two of us working together, what are we afraid of! Unless this guy can bring in an S-rank! He doesn't have that kind of ability!"

Gonggong nodded. With the combined abilities of himself and his wife, they could practically roam freely in the world of supernatural abilities, unless they encountered an S-class powerhouse. Otherwise, even if their old enemy brought in a large number of experts to ambush them, they could still escape, even if they couldn't defeat them.

"I just feel something is strange."

"If you're scared, I'll chase after them myself!" Zhu Rong cursed. "They've already come to challenge us, are we not going to accept the challenge?!"

After saying that, she leaped out like a cannonball and landed on the other side of the river.

Gonggong sighed; how could he let his wife go alone? He immediately gave chase. He could control water, but instead of leaping across the river, he jogged. He glided across the water as if walking on flat ground. Almost simultaneously with Zhurong and his wife chasing the one-eyed man, several figures appeared at the other end of the deserted street. These figures were dressed differently; one, with black hair, wore a simple, ancient Chinese short jacket and round glasses. He took out a pocket watch, glanced at it, and said calmly to his subordinate, "The couple has been lured away. We expect them to have ten minutes."

One of his companions seemed somewhat displeased: "That couple may be quite famous, but Mr. Third, we're not afraid of them! Why bother hiring that guy to lure them away? With you, Mr. Third, handling things..."

The man turned around, and a cold gaze shot out from behind his glasses, immediately silencing the person he was staring at.

At the Daily Bar, Ya Ya and Bai Cai were still playing chess, but they had switched from checkers to Gomoku. Meanwhile, Champagne was no longer behind the counter; she had gone to the kitchen to cause some trouble for Fatty.

Just then, the shop door was gently pushed open, and a man in a Chinese-style short jacket strode in. His expression was stern. After entering, the man in the jacket glanced at Ya Ya and Bai Cai sitting there playing chess, nodded, and asked in a stiff voice, "Excuse me, is this the Ribucks coffee shop?"

Bai Cai and Ya Ya exchanged a glance. Ya Ya didn't say anything, but Bai Cai already sensed something was off: "The location is right... Um, do you want to make a request? Today isn't Thursday, so we're not accepting requests right now."

The man shook his head, his voice cold: "I'm not here to make a request, I'm looking for someone."

As he spoke, he strode in, glanced at the empty hall, and then headed straight for the corridor leading to the back.

Bai Cai frowned, stood up, and blocked the way: "Hey! How dare you barge in like that! You can't go in from the back!"

The man glanced at the cabbage, shook his head, and said, "I don't like bullying girls, please move aside."

Upon hearing this, Bai Cai's displeasure deepened even further: "You..."

Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly felt her body bounce away with a gentle force, losing her balance and being thrown into the air. She cried out in surprise, and when she finally landed, she felt something soft beneath her and realized that although she had been thrown out, she had landed on the sofa, right where she had been sitting!

Ya Ya stood up too, her little face showing displeasure: "Hey! How can you be so rude..."

The man glanced at Ya Ya and Bai Cai, a faint smile appearing on his face: "I'm sorry."

After saying that, he continued walking inside.

Just then, Champagne, hearing the commotion outside, ran out from the backstage area. She was carrying a bowl of porridge and had a smile on her face. She strode to the door and immediately froze when she saw the man standing in front of her. When the man saw Champagne, a hint of warmth appeared in his originally cold eyes, but that warmth quickly turned into reproach. He frowned and said, "Miss, you really are here."

Champagne, who was originally a fearless and mischievous girl, turned deathly pale the moment she saw this man. Her face went completely white, her eyes were filled with fear, and even her teeth started chattering.

With a clink, the bowl of porridge in her hand fell to the ground and shattered into pieces, spilling porridge all over the floor. Champagne remained unresponsive, simply staring blankly at the man in front of her.
