Глава 54

"Whether the devil is good or evil is for all to judge!"

"The eyes of the masses are discerning!"

"We oppose the police's decision! Withdraw the arrest warrant!"

"It is recommended that a temple be built at the demon's dwelling place."

"Evil people will be punished."

"Whoever posted 'evil people get their comeuppance,' I curse them out."

...

Ma Xiaoniu smiled; justice resides in the hearts of the people. He always enjoyed reading the comments; his dream was to become a chivalrous hero!

He continued browsing the case submission area and found a post titled "Trapped by Cannibals." He sent a message to the poster, but received no reply. Could they have already made food? Ma Xiaoniu shook his head and opened another post, "Trapped in Cambodia, Blood Drained Daily." This post only contained map coordinates, indicating it was posted under extremely urgent circumstances.

Ma Xiaoniu put on a demon mask. Even though his true appearance has been revealed, he still wants to wear the demon mask because it makes him look more like a chivalrous hero!

He silently recalled the map coordinates in his mind, and his figure merged into the space and disappeared.

...

Li Hao was a journalist who had previously investigated many shady places undercover, often facing death threats as a result, but he had never been afraid. Now, however, he was finally trapped in a remote village in Cambodia. Taking advantage of the pursuit, he managed to post a plea for help on a demonic forum using his phone. He was subsequently arrested, bound, and thrown into a small, windowless shack. Inside the shack were a dozen or so other people, all from China. Most of them were delirious, some even on the verge of death, their bodies swollen and seemingly on the verge of collapse. Only a few were in slightly better condition. Through questioning, Li Hao learned that they were trapped there primarily to provide blood; they were being drained of blood daily, like pigs and sheep being raised in a pen.

A day later, Li Hao was also taken out and tied to a bed, unable to move his hands or feet. A person in a white coat used a blood-drawing device to draw blood from him. Since it was his first time, Li Hao didn't react much except for feeling dizzy. Afterward, he was tied up again and thrown into the small room.

The small hut was empty, without even windows. A dozen or so people were crammed inside, making the air damp and foul. Most people could only sit cross-legged, while only those who were on the verge of death could lie on the damp ground, awaiting their demise.

All of Li Hao's belongings were confiscated, leaving him with only his underwear. Sitting cross-legged on the damp ground, looking around at the people, Li Hao lowered his voice and said, "Have you thought about escaping?"

A group of people turned to look at him, then turned back, their eyes filled with only deathly silence and despair. One of them, wearing glasses, muttered to himself, "It's impossible, it's impossible, we can't get out."

Li Hao shook his head in disappointment, but he also knew that being in such an environment for a long time would inevitably lead to a loss of fighting spirit. And what about himself? Right now, he was just pinning his hopes on that legendary demon. What if the demon didn't come? Wouldn't he end up just like them?

"Ah! I can't take it anymore! Let me out, let me out!" The bespectacled man suddenly lost control, staggered to the iron gate, and banged on the door.

Li Hao was startled and was about to step forward when he saw that everyone else suddenly shrank back, their previously lifeless eyes revealing an undisguised fear.

"Damn it! What are you banging on! What the hell are you doing!" The iron gate slammed open, and a foot kicked the bespectacled man hard, sending him flying and crashing into the corner. Immediately afterward, two dark-skinned men in military uniforms entered, one after the other, each carrying a steel pipe. They quickly walked up to the bespectacled man and smashed him hard.

"Smack!"

"Ah!~"

"Smack!"

"Ah! I won't do it again! Please forgive me!"

"Slap! Slap!"

Amidst the beatings and pleas for mercy, Li Hao noticed that everyone else in the room cowered and closed their eyes, their faces filled with fear. Looking at the bespectacled man, he saw that in just a short while, blood was gushing out, and his pleas for mercy grew fainter and fainter until they gradually disappeared completely. The two Cambodians continued beating him for a while longer, then cursed and looked around before leaving and locking the iron gate tightly behind them.

The bespectacled man lay in the corner, the blood beneath him emitting a strong, pungent odor. Li Hao slowly walked forward, reaching out to touch the bespectacled man's cheek; it was icy cold to the touch, indicating the man was already dead.

Li Hao slowly retreated, shrinking back to his original spot, his eyes filled with fear, anger, and helplessness. Li Hao glanced at the door. "Demon, when will you arrive?"

Actually, Ma Xiaoniu had arrived long ago. He just wanted to catch them all in one fell swoop.

The village was small, with only a dozen or so houses. Aside from the houses used to imprison blood slaves, the rest were inhabited by Cambodians, all dressed in military uniforms and armed. Ma Xiaoniu wondered if the Cambodian military was behind this. But even though Cambodia is small, it's still a country; would they really do something like this?

Two armed Cambodians guarded the village entrance, and several others patrolled the village. Ma Xiaoniu sat on a large tree outside the village; its lush foliage provided excellent concealment. Ma Xiaoniu was well aware that the longer the time passed, the more dangerous it would be for the blood slaves, but he still wanted to wait and see if any big fish would come in.

It was quickly past three in the afternoon when a jeep suddenly appeared on the small road outside the village. The jeep swayed and bumped its way into the village. Five people got out of the car, one of whom was wearing a military cap and had a dark complexion. After getting out, he spoke a few words to the people who came to greet him. Then, one of them blew a whistle hanging around his neck. Soon, Cambodians emerged from the houses in the village and quickly assembled, standing neatly in front of the man in the military cap.

Then the man in the military cap launched into a long, rambling speech. Of course, Ma Xiaoniu couldn't understand a word he said, but it wasn't hard to tell that this man in the military cap was probably the big fish.

Ma Xiaoniu sneered. "Now, let Death begin its harvest."

Impermanence, activate!

An inexplicable aura instantly enveloped the village.

"Smack!"

A sharp crack interrupted the man in the military cap's speech. The once-enthusiastic man was sent flying sideways a considerable distance, clutching his face and screaming in pain. The others froze, then raised their guns, warily surveying their surroundings. Several rushed to the man's side and carefully helped him up. The slightly overweight man's cheek was swollen like a balloon, half his teeth were broken, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. One of them quickly fetched tissues for him to wipe his mouth, while another brought a chair for him to sit down.

Outside the village, Ma Xiaoniu's face was as black as charcoal. Damn it, the so-called random attack was just a slap? What's the use of that? And it even alerted the enemy! Just as Ma Xiaoniu was speechless, another strange change occurred in the village.

A Cambodian man, who had been cautiously pointing a gun, suddenly threw it away and began to violently choke himself. In an instant, his face turned blue and his eyes bulged. The others around him were shocked and rushed to try and pry his hands off, but for some reason, his hands seemed made of iron, and they couldn't budge them. Within minutes, his tongue protruded, his face turned bluish-purple, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud. Even on the ground, his hands continued to desperately choke himself; he was clearly not going to live. The others, their faces filled with terror, raised their guns and frantically aimed around like headless flies.

The man in the military cap sitting in the chair also looked terrified. He had been perfectly fine just moments before, so why did he suddenly feel like someone had slapped him? His ears were still ringing. But being a leader, he was clear-headed and yelled at everyone. The others immediately snapped out of their daze and scrambled for cover. The man in the military cap, with the help of several people around him, hid behind a low wall nearby.

Just as they had concealed themselves, the man in the military cap breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind arose out of nowhere, and in an instant, the man in the military cap and his companions were swept into the air, flying higher and higher. Then, to the astonishment of the crowd below, they grew smaller and smaller until they became black dots and disappeared into the clouds.

The others shuddered, their faces filled with terror. One of them suddenly lost control, screaming as he ran from the cover towards his room. He had barely reached halfway when a red light suddenly emanated from his body, and then with a bang, he transformed into a large white flame. He screamed, rolled around, and after half a minute, lay motionless. The flames continued to burn, filling the air with a strong smell of barbecue.

The others still in the bunker were even more terrified. One of them suddenly yelled a few words and then took out a machine gun and fired a burst of fire out of the village. The others seemed to wake up suddenly and also picked up their machine guns and started firing wildly.

Bullets flew everywhere. Ma Xiaoniu quickly found a tree trunk to hide behind. Damn it, he wasn't made of iron. If he got hit by a bullet, he'd be dead anyway.

Just then, the gunfire suddenly stopped. Ma Xiaoniu, puzzled, peered into the village and saw that the people in the bunkers had vacant eyes, as if they had lost their souls. Ma Xiaoniu suddenly realized—they had all been pulled into an illusion!

Ma Xiaoniu chuckled coldly, "Alright then, see you in the fantasy world."
