Kapitel 7

After spending some time together, Ip Man realized that Hao Yun had good self-control, so he didn't say much.

"Madam, we're leaving now."

After saying goodbye, Huang Liang and Hao Yun slipped away arm in arm.

“This kid just keeps messing around with Huang Liang. How about I introduce him to a girl? Once he's settled down, he'll be more at ease.”

Mrs. Zhang Yongcheng had a very good impression of Hao Yun. She had seen what Hao Yun had done during this period, and she was especially moved when Hao Yun put both his and his wife's names on the house he bought.

"That's a good option, but this guy has high standards, and I'm afraid he wouldn't be interested in most girls."

Ip Man was very good at judging people. He knew that Hao Yun was ambitious and would definitely want to find a beautiful wife.

"I'll look for him slowly later. Let's go home. My stomach hasn't been feeling well these past two days, and I feel like I'm about to give birth."

The two men, holding Ye Zhun's hand, walked back together as a family of three, chatting and laughing.

As for Hao Yun and Huang Liang, they had long been regulars on Pink Street.

The two entered the house and were about to go upstairs when Aunt Xue hurriedly came to greet them.

"Hey! You two young men, what brings you here?"

"Aunt Xue! What are you saying? Aren't you welcoming us?"

Huang Liang and Aunt Xue, arm in arm, were about to head upstairs as they talked.

"Stop messing around. That Fifth Brother is here again today. If you go up there, you'll definitely start a fight again. Listen to your sister, let's go play at another house today."

Hao Yun, who stood silently to the side, thought to himself, "This Aunt Xue really takes care of Huang Liang. It seems like the two of them have known each other for many years."

"That bastard's here again! Damn it, I'll kill him sooner or later!"

Huang Liang, still in a bad mood, stood still. He wasn't stupid; the other party was the leader of the dock gang, and he would definitely suffer if he fought him to the death.

"Huang Liang, come with me, I have something to tell you."

When Hao Yun called Huang Liang away, Aunt Xue hurriedly saw the two of them out, repeatedly reminding them not to get into a conflict with the dock gang.

After the two left, Hao Yun led Huang Liang to a street stall.

"You and Aunt Xue have a very good relationship. She takes such good care of you."

Feeling somewhat stifled, Huang Liang downed a bowl of tea and said in a muffled voice.

"Yes, we've known each other for almost ten years. My parents died when I was little. If I hadn't met Aunt Xue, I probably would have starved to death long ago."

Thinking back to those years of wandering, Huang Liang couldn't help but sigh.

"Let's not talk about this anymore. Tell me about the dock gang."

Having spent so many years mingling outside, Huang Liang knew very well about the dock gangs—they were a group of gangsters who made their living off the docks.

Touching his chin, Hao Yun found the story interesting. The dock was divided into two factions: the dock gang and the refugee camp gang.

The dock gang members were mostly thugs who exploited people who made a living at the docks.

As for the refugee camps, they were all Kuomintang defeated soldiers who fled to Hong Kong after their defeat and formed gangs to make a living.

Normally, the two gangs don't interfere with each other, since one makes a living from the docks and the other from gambling.

However, this is only on the surface. It may seem that the two gangs have no conflict, but in reality, if it weren't for the police suppressing them, the two gangs would have been fighting to the death long ago.

The dock gang members managed to avoid being swallowed up by the refugee camp by cooperating with the police and paying protection money.

The people in the refugee camp were not willing to accept this situation, so they contacted the police leadership and planned to take down the dock gang after communicating with them.

However, the police officers are very greedy. They take money from both sides and agree to do things no matter which faction comes to them.

The refugee camp was seething with hatred, but there was nothing they could do; they couldn't exactly fight the police station.

After hearing Huang Liang's words, Hao Yun had an idea, so he secretly discussed it with Huang Liang.

When Hao Yun finished explaining the plan, Huang Liang's eyes lit up.

"Brother Yun, that's a great idea. I'll go prepare it right away. Wait for me a moment."

About ten minutes later, Huang Liang returned with two men and several machetes.

The four men squatted patiently by the roadside, while Huang Liang squatted in the corner, smoking one cigarette after another.

"Why haven't they come out yet? Are they not leaving today?"

Hearing Huang Liang's mutterings, Hao Yun rolled his eyes. "Do you really think Aunt Xue is a freeloader? She said that Fifth Brother of the dock gang will leave, so he definitely will. At worst, we'll just have to wait a little longer."

They waited until late at night, and there were hardly any people on the streets. Finally, Fifth Brother and his group from the dock gang came out.

"Cover your faces so no one can see you. Follow me and charge. Don't hold back."

After giving instructions to the three men, Hao Yun got up, stretched his limbs, and rushed out first.

The Fifth Brother and his henchmen, who were chatting and laughing, suddenly sobered up when they saw four men rushing towards them with machetes.

"Kill him!"

Hao Yun, who was the first to rush forward, wielded two machetes with incredible skill, and in no time he had cut down five people.

This time, Hao Yun didn't hold back. Every move was aimed at vital points. Killing this group of scourges who oppressed the poor was a way of sending them to their deaths.

Huang Liang, who was right behind him, only had eyes for Fifth Brother. With Hao Yun clearing the way, Huang Liang took the opportunity to rush over and slashed Fifth Brother in the back with his knife, leaving him with a long wound.

"Solve this quickly, don't waste time."

After whispering a reminder to the three men, Hao Yun sped up, and in less than three minutes, all thirteen men were killed.

"withdraw!"

Chapter 10 Tornado

The next morning, the dock gang received news that the fifth leader had been hacked to death on the street. According to their information, it was likely done by the refugee camp.

The two sides, who were already in conflict, finally lost control. To protect their own interests, the dock gang had no choice but to fight a desperate battle.

As for the refugee camps, before they could even figure out the situation, several casinos were vandalized.

This sparked a fire between the two sides. The refugee camp didn't care why the other side had wrecked their territory. Since the other side dared to make a move, they decided to take this opportunity to seize control of the other side's land.

The two gangs got really into a fight, and the police intervened but no one paid any attention. That night, the two gangs engaged in a massive brawl involving thousands of people. When the police tried to stop them, several of them were killed.

After this incident, the police quickly mobilized the army to suppress it, resulting in a firefight between the three forces. Of course, the two major gangs would have guns.

When the police deployed troops, the two gangs assumed it was an attempt to eliminate their forces, so they joined forces to fight back.

The battle raged all night long. The constant gunfire terrified the nearby residents, who dared not sleep and huddled under their beds, their doors and windows tightly shut.

Hao Yun and his accomplices, who had caused this incident, were still leisurely eating peanuts and drinking wine.

"Brother Yun, it seems like this matter has gotten a bit out of hand."

Hearing the gunshots, Huang Liang's face turned pale. If others found out, he would definitely die a horrible death.

"What's there to be afraid of? If you don't tell and I don't tell, who will know?"

As Hao Yun said this, he looked at the two brothers that Huang Liang had brought over the night before.

"You two split this money, and keep this matter to yourselves, or don't blame me for being ruthless."

These two dared not accept the money; they just smiled awkwardly and remained silent.

"Just take it. Money from Brother Yun is too hot to handle!"

Huang Liang glared at them, now feeling a bit scared, genuinely worried that his two brothers might betray him.

The four of them had a few drinks and then lay down to rest. The next day, Huang Liang hurriedly went out to gather information. When Hao Yun woke up, Huang Liang rushed into the house with breakfast in a panic.

"Brother Yun! So many people have died! You didn't see it, there were corpses everywhere, the dock was stained red."

After placing the breakfast on the table, Huang Liang picked up a large bowl and gulped down several mouthfuls of cold water.

"It has nothing to do with us. Let's eat, and then go to the martial arts school to practice."

Hao Yun's calm demeanor infected Huang Liang. Several days passed in the blink of an eye, and now both major gangs were crippled and were hiding in the shadows licking their wounds. As for Fifth Brother of the dock gang, he had long been forgotten.

The people from the Hung Kuen martial arts school came that day to deliver tickets; the boxing match was starting the next day.

In an effort to calm public sentiment, the police department moved the boxing match time forward.

Having received the tickets, Ip Man naturally went to the venue. The next morning, Ip Man took Hao Yun, Huang Liang, and three disciples to the venue.

On the way to the venue, Hao Yun wondered to himself whether the boxing champion could trigger the option.

Upon entering the venue, it was quite lively. There were about five or six hundred people sitting in the audience, with over a hundred from the martial arts school side alone, about the same number of foreigners, and the rest were just spectators who came to join in the fun.

With Gui Tou defeated, Hong Zhennan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had spent a lot of money and effort organizing this boxing match, and because of Gui Tou, he hadn't been able to get a single penny back.

Now that the police station is in a hurry to hold the boxing match ahead of schedule, and since Ghost Head is gone, all the profits from the boxing match will go to Hung Chun-nam.

Upon seeing Ip Man enter, Hung Chun-nam cupped his hands in greeting.

"Have your apprentice get ready. He'll go up on stage later and demonstrate his boxing skills. Consider it free publicity for the martial arts school."

After a brief chat with Ip Man, Hung Chun-nam went to attend to other matters.

Boxing champion Tornado was sitting on the stage, chatting with the people next to him.

On the stage, the people from the Hung Kuen martial arts school began to demonstrate, and people from other martial arts schools were also preparing. Seeing that other martial arts schools had sent people, Ip Man did not want to make an exception, so he let Hao Yun lead Huang Liang and the other three to the stage.

Standing below the ring, Hao Yun kept an eye on Tornado, wondering if he would still come down and show off if Gui Tou didn't cause trouble.

Sure enough, the tornado on the podium seemed to get bored after a while and went straight to the boxing ring to wander around aimlessly.

The foreigners responsible for translation started to jeer. Although Hao Yun's English wasn't very good, he had studied it for so many years and could still understand a few sentences.

Hao Yun muttered a curse at the translator and turned to go on stage, but Huang Liang pulled him back.

"Brother Yun, it's not our turn yet."

Thump! Ah-ki, the Hung Kuen fighter, lay on the ring, while the boxing champion arrogantly provoked the others.

"You bastard! You really think you're something special!" Hao Yun flipped onto the stage and gave the tornado the middle finger.

"Do you dare to have a one-on-one duel in the arena?"

The translator accurately translated the sentence. Tornado looked at the somewhat thin Hao Yun with disdain in his eyes. He looked down on this so-called martial arts.
