Kapitel 9

There were just too many mosquitoes.

The two returned to the villa, and Yu Nan gave Zhu Yao a tour of the house.

The third floor is an open-air balcony with an empty swimming pool that looks like it hasn't been used in a long time. There are two lounge chairs next to the pool.

Next to the recliner was a rectangular dining table, surrounded by six chairs, with a large umbrella placed in the center of the table.

The second floor has many bedrooms, and in addition to the room where the two of them lived, there are many guest rooms.

Yu Nan said, "My parents and Li Yue each have their own private rooms, but they don't come over very often."

Besides the living room and kitchen, there is also Yu Nan's private study on the first floor. Zhu Yao waved her hand to indicate that she would not go in for a visit.

Yu Nan shrugged; there wasn't anything important in the room.

Next to the private study was a sealed-off room. Yu Nan hesitated for a moment and did not introduce it to Zhu Yao. Zhu Yao also tactfully did not ask any further questions.

The private study and that closed room were added to Zhu Yao's "cannot enter" list.

Of course, she wouldn't just go into other rooms casually.

Chapter 10 Zhu Yao Signs the Second Contract

The basement has three rooms: a gym, a movie room, and a game room.

"Your gym has such a complete set of equipment, and it's all so new!"

Zhu Yao counted them and found there were actually four treadmills.

Yu Nan was the only one living there before... but it's been decorated like this, as if it were prepared for a family of at least four.

Zhu Yao squatted down next to the dumbbells, as if she had discovered something amazing. The dumbbells were still in their plastic packaging! The yoga mat next to them was also brand new.

Yu Nan blushed a little, "When I was designing it, I wanted to exercise properly, but I was too busy with work and didn't have time."

In fact, Yu Nan never used the equipment. When she first had the idea of exercising, she would just run at most.

"Do you have time now? Let's exercise together!"

Zhu Yao still keeps her mission in mind—to monitor Yu Nan's health, even though she doesn't like exercising.

"Maybe there will be another opportunity..."

Yu Nan really didn't want to exercise, and since she couldn't stick to it anyway, she might as well not start at all.

She is no longer the child who loses interest in things quickly—now she is well aware of her laziness and makes no attempt to hide it.

Lazy people are just throwing things away!

In the center of the movie room, there was a large, fluffy rug, on which sat a coffee-colored beanbag chair, with a coffee table in front of it.

A complete and new tea set was laid out on the coffee table. Through the clear amber glass, you could see several unopened packets of tea leaves on the lower shelf.

There was a shelf hanging on the wall next to it, with a set of upside-down wine glasses and a half-empty bottle of red wine on it.

Yu Nan pressed a few buttons next to the shelf, and with a "click," a square passage appeared below, just wide enough for one person to pass through.

"Want to go in and take a look?" Yu Nan smiled and raised an eyebrow, making an "invitation" gesture.

Zhu Yao climbed in first, and Yu Nan followed closely behind, jumping in as well.

It was a closed room.

The only way to enter this room is through that passage.

Yu Nan pressed a switch, and a string of small colored lights, like those hanging on a Christmas tree, lit up, flashing and illuminating the room with vibrant colors.

Inside the room, a cherry wood shelf against the wall held many expensive-looking wines, and on the ground next to the shelf were several sealed wooden barrels with taps.

Zhu Yao noticed a sign next to the shelf with a sentence written on it—

Welcome to Yu Miao's private wine cellar.

"Yu Miao, is that you?" Zhu Yao asked Yu Nan with a smile.

Yu Nan, like a child showing off his collection but accidentally having his embarrassing past exposed, went from being smug to being furious.

"No—no!" Yu Nan exclaimed angrily.

"Yu Miao sounds nice, may I call you that?"

Zhu Yao's laughter made Yu Nan dizzy, and she almost subconsciously agreed.

"No way!" Yu Nan shook her head fiercely; she couldn't be tempted by this woman with the sweet smile.

But it seems my disguise has been exposed! Damn it! How could I have forgotten about that? I shouldn't have invited her in!

Yu Nan really looks like a white, long-haired cat with its fur standing on end, Zhu Yao thought to herself with a secret chuckle. She really wanted to hold down the cat and stroke it until its fur was smooth.

After leaving the wine cellar and the movie room, the two arrived at Yu Nan's game room.

Zhu Yao scared Yu Nan so much in the game room that she fainted.

When the basement corridor light was turned on, Zhu Yao could finally see clearly that the black handprint on the door of the game room was actually a game poster pasted on the door. Below it was a person dressed as a courier with a hat, holding a baby in a yellow container, standing on a high pile of ruins, facing the black monster in the distance.

It seemed the trash next to the door hadn't been collected yet. Zhu Yao saw the strawberry beer can she had stepped on and crushed, as well as the plate of sushi next to it.

She threw away the trash, picked up the plate, and planned to tidy up in the kitchen later.

Directly opposite the door is a red and black iron rack, filled with figurines, CDs, game consoles, game cartridges, and some odds and ends that look like badges.

In the middle of the game room is a fluffy single beanbag chair, where Yu Nan used to sit cross-legged.

Further inside, there was a gaming table with two gaming chairs next to it. The tabletop was covered with expensive-looking equipment and a blindingly large screen.

Wait, a blindingly bright screen! A screen that's still lit up!

Yu Nan suddenly had a bad feeling and quickly took out her phone to check her game time.

Sure enough, from the moment I fainted and was taken to the hospital until now, when I'm showing Zhu Yao around the house, the game has been running the whole time.

It seems the controller was thrown away by itself...

Yu Nan rushed to the white object she had thrown away, knelt on the ground and fiddled with it, then hugged it to her chest with heartache.

Yu Nan visibly became depressed...

Zhu Yao felt a little guilty, after all, she was the culprit who caused Yu Nan to break the controller.

Although part of the reason is that the child was too frightening and overreacted when stressed.

Yu Nan carefully put the white handle away and placed it in the cabinet.

This is the second controller I've ever broken. I threw it when I was scared and it broke. Just wanted to commemorate it.

Zhu Yao huddled by the doorway, watching Yu Nan carry out these actions with such grief, barely daring to breathe. After all, she felt guilty.

Yu Nan slowly turned her head and stared at him with a resentful look.

Zhu Yao forced a smile. "Is there...is there anything I can do for you? I'll make it up to you..."

Are you dexterous with your hands?

"What?" Zhu Yao thought she had misheard.

Are you dexterous with your hands?

This...this...this is such a shameful question!

As a perpetually closeted woman who pretends to be straight, Zhu Yao didn't know how to answer for a moment.

Fortunately, Yu Nan continued, "My hands aren't very good, and I can't beat some games. I need someone to help me fight monsters."

Zhu Yao breathed a sigh of relief; so that's all there was to it.

As an online novelist, a seasoned typist, a level 10 touch typist, and a closeted lesbian—

Of course it's completely problem-free!

"I can give it a try!"

Anyway, after Zhu Yao finishes updating her novel every day, she still has a lot of time left. She's almost worn out all the dramas she's watched, and there's nothing new that can resonate with her soul anymore.

Why not try a game?

"But I haven't played many games before, so I might have to ask you to teach me~" Zhu Yao, now a diligent student next door.

"No problem, I was going to watch you play games anyway."

Commanding Zhu Yao to complete the game counts as completing it! My archived games are saved!

Yu Nan suddenly thought of something and said with a wicked smile, "Let's sign a contract!"

Zhu Yao: "..."

As expected, birds of a feather flock together.

The first thing these two sisters did when faced with a problem was to sign a contract instead of discussing it. That's good, though; with everything in black and white, neither of them can deny it.

Zhu Yao and Li Yue signed a contract in exchange for taking care of Yu Nan, who is "mentally challenged," in exchange for cheap rent for a large villa.

Zhu Yao and Yu Nan signed an agreement where Zhu Yao would act as a substitute player for Yu Nan in games in exchange for not pursuing any losses caused by Zhu Yao scaring Yu Nan into the hospital, and the right to use all rooms except for the "rooms that cannot be entered".

Of course, the contract stipulated that Yu Nan would grant full access to all rooms, and Zhu Yao knew where she couldn't go.

After leaving the game room, Zhu Yao saw a wooden door at the end of the corridor.

Yu Nan opened the wooden door, revealing the elevator inside.

It only has two floors and a basement, yet it still has an elevator.

Zhu Yao couldn't help but sigh, "They must be from a very wealthy family."

However, I didn't see any elevators on the first or second floor just now, so it seems the exit has been hidden.

Yu Nan took Zhu Yao into the elevator and pressed the buttons for the first and second floors.

The elevator doors opened on the first floor. Zhu Yao didn't step out of the elevator; she just stuck her head out to look.

She saw countless books, and desks amidst the piles of books.

There were two computers on the table, and next to them was a whiteboard with some things written on it that Zhu Yao couldn't understand. It looked like mathematical formulas, or maybe code—probably Yu Nan's work content.

"Yu Nan, what is your job?" Zhu Yao asked curiously, as she could sense that gaming played a significant role in Yu Nan's life.
