Der Fall des Geisterboten – Die Geschichte einer Seele, die den Körper verlässt - Kapitel 6

Kapitel 6

The carp is heartbroken...

Upon hearing this, the catfish's eyes widened. "When did you start dating?"

So, the black carp, being the carp's best friend, responsibly explained it to everyone.

"It was a bright and sunny spring morning, with birds singing and flowers blooming..." Blackfish said with great emotion.

"The Great Heat has already passed..." the crab muttered to itself.

"The carp went to the neighboring pond to listen to gossip, and when it heard that the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl were getting a divorce..." the blackfish continued to tell the story with deep emotion.

“Speaking of divorce, I once…” Catfish stroked his beard.

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!" the crowd roared in anger.

"A koi fish swam by, and the koi fell in love at first sight..." the blackfish said, completely absorbed in the story.

"Wrong!" The carp that had been drawing circles on its head with will-o'-the-wisps jumped out and shouted, "It's a beautiful koi girl with red plum blossom and blue-green patterns, big eyes, bulging cheeks, round fins, and a flowing tail..."

"Get lost! I don't understand your fish's aesthetic sense!" the river shrimp immediately poured cold water on the idea.

The carp sobbed and went back to the corner to continue drawing circles.

"And then?" the fox on the shore asked.

"But... alas... since ancient times, love has only brought regret..." Blackfish imitated the tone of a storyteller on the overpass, "To find out what happens next, please listen..."

"Ada!"

In an instant, the black fish was slapped away by the demons...

"What happened next?" the crab asked, poking the dark carp.

"No need to ask, it must be that fish didn't like it..." the river shrimp teased.

"No way—" the carp immediately burst into tears.

"I know, that koi girl probably has a boyfriend," the catfish sighed.

The carp wept even more bitterly.

"Oh..." The demons suddenly understood.

"What is it? It's not a person, is it?" Tingcong, resting his chin on his hand, asked with great interest.

"Koi Girl's eyes are perfectly fine, why would she like those with two legs!" the koi scoffed.

The fox revealed its gleaming claws. "Carp, are you heartbroken?"

The carp shrank back.

"What is it?!" the demons demanded.

"...It's just...just a silver carp..." the carp whispered.

"Wrong!" The black fish that had been slapped away suddenly reappeared. "It's a silver carp, its entire body as silver as moonlight, with sharp eyes, handsome cheeks, powerful fins, a beautiful tail, perfect proportions, eight hundred years of cultivation, and in human form it's an extremely... handsome man..."

"Ada!"

In an instant, the blackfish was sent flying by the carp.

The demons stared silently at the carp: ordinary grayish-brown scales, slightly watery eyes, gills that always seemed stuffed with food, slightly short fins, an average tail, a somewhat chubby body, only three hundred years of cultivation, and an extremely ordinary human form...

The river shrimp shook its head. "Although I don't understand your fish's aesthetic sense, you definitely have no chance..."

"Ah—please don't say it out loud!!!" The carp ran away, tears streaming down its face.

"And so... Carp is heartbroken..." Blackfish suddenly appeared again, giving a concluding speech.

"Sigh..." The demons touched their foreheads and sighed.

"However, it's better to like a fish than a person; at least there's still some hope," Tingcong said, walking over to the side to comfort the carp.

The fox continued to bare its claws, "Ting Cong, what do you mean?"

Ting Cong reached out, pinched the fox's paw pads, and then lifted it up in one swift motion. "So, was I wrong? You've got no hope for the rest of your life!"

The fox pounced, grabbing Tingcong's face and yelling, "I'll scratch your face! I'll ruin your looks! See if you dare talk nonsense again!"

Ting Cong laughed, reaching out to block the fox's paw. "What, are you jealous that I'm prettier than you..."

Silence immediately fell over the surroundings.

"Why do I suddenly feel cold?" The river shrimp shivered as it crawled ashore to bask in the sun.

"Ah————————" Instantly, the carp's cry echoed through the sky.

The blackfish immediately pounced, "Carp, there are plenty of fish in the sea, don't do anything rash..."

"No way!" The carp gripped the black fish's fin, its eyes gleaming. "You know, the silver carp is so handsome, it'll definitely be caught by the Taoist priest soon... Then, I'll... hehehehe..."

"Carp, you're so smart, I admire you..." the blackfish replied, tears welling in its eyes.

"Oh, I knew it! Fairies should keep a low profile... hahaha..." the carp said smugly.

"Carp!"

"Heizi!"

"Carp!"

...

The fox trembled, turned its head, and looked at Tingcong, "Let's continue—I'm going to disfigure you!!!"

"Wow! I was just kidding! Just kidding!" Tingcong immediately got up and ran away.

"Don't run!"

"Hehe... Speaking of jokes, I once..."

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!"

"Um...is there anyone...no, is there any demon who can stop this fox?!"

Chapter Eleven

"Shrimp!!!" A piercing scream erupted from the pond on a beautiful morning...

Tingcong covered his ears and squatted by the pond, exclaiming, "That's such an overreaction!!!"

The catfish sighed, "Uh... this young man has never seen anything like it..."

"Please, a dozen or so sorcerers are coming to exorcise the demon together, how can we not be excited!" The carp pretended to vomit blood.

The fox took out paper and pen and said obsequiously, "Little Congcong, come here, tell me the exact route of the sorcerer group so I can track down Ji You GG..."

Listen to Cong PIA open it and continue, "But it's okay, they're only staying for 7 days, you can go somewhere to lay low for a while."

The carp and the blackfish immediately grasped each other's hands and sang mournfully, "Without water... how can we live..."

The river shrimp transformed into human form and walked ashore. "What's coming will come eventually. Let's find a place to hide first."

The crab scratched its head. "The pond next door?"

"Is there any difference between the pond next door and this one?" the carp sighed. "Besides, there's a very powerful dragon down there, it's even less safe."

Chilong immediately interjected, "No, it's very good!"

The demons looked at it and said in unison, "Women in love are blind..."

The fox popped out, "Are you talking about me?"

"Ahem," the catfish also transformed into human form, "Getting back to the point, speaking of places to avoid the limelight, I once..."

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!"

“I didn’t change the subject! I said I once knew a frog who lived in a well in town, and we could go there!” The catfish shook its head, helpless.

"Oh! I know! It's that legendary frog that never left the well and thought the whole world was a well!" the carp exclaimed in sudden realization.

The river shrimp said, "That's a madman!"

The carp said, "That's a fool!"

Blackfish said, "That's a demon!"

The crab said, "That's a frog!"

The catfish said, "That is..."

"Old Catfish, don't change the subject!"

The catfish said innocently, "I wasn't trying to change the subject! I meant, he was a philosopher, and an idealist at that!"

After some twists and turns, everyone finally arrived at the well in town.

"Will we really not get caught by the sorcerers here?" the carp asked cautiously.

"Yes, don't worry." The catfish smiled.

When everyone entered the well, they finally understood the truth of the catfish's words.

It's an ordinary well, yet it contains a vast array of things. There are mountains, rivers, seas, pavilions, and terraces. The scenery of the four seasons changes and blends, the sun and moon shine together, and the Milky Way is brilliant.

"Wow..." The crab looked at the sea of flowers at its feet and couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

Not far away, the sound of a sanxian (a three-stringed plucked instrument) drifted over, and someone softly sang: "The thatched gate is closed, and I roam freely amidst the misty clouds. Hidden among the forests and mountains, a small fairy abode. White clouds outside the building, green bamboo before the window, cinnabar at the bottom of the well. No one grows melons on my five-acre house, but guests share tea at the village temple. Spring's beauty is fleeting, until the roses bloom and the pear blossoms fall."

The ethereal voice seemed to penetrate straight to the soul.

“Hey...frog...I'm a catfish…” the old catfish shouted.

A beautiful young girl suddenly appeared, holding a sanxian (a three-stringed plucked instrument) in her hands, with a hibiscus flower tucked behind her ear.

As the demons were praising her, the girl spoke up, "Damn it! What's going on this time? Don't cause me any trouble, okay? Let me tell you! I've put up with you for a long time! Don't run to me every time you're being chased. What do you think this place is? The United Nations Security Center?..."

Catfish scratched his head, "Uh... one last time..."
