Chapter 7

"Where should we eat?" I asked again.

"Still in the shop."

"Wasn't it closed for renovations?" Are we supposed to eat in some dusty, messy place?

Doing performance art, huh?

"It only started in the afternoon, so I borrowed a morning and a noon from the boss."

Oh, I see. It's something that sentimental An would do. If it were me, I would ask him for rent.

"Oh well."

"I'll wait for you downstairs at your company at 11:30." His voice was cheerful.

At 11:30 a.m. sharp, I appeared downstairs and saw Kurosawa, who had arrived earlier.

He opened the car door for me to get in; it was just a very ordinary courtesy, but it reminded me of Shao Yuzhe.

Oh no, that means I'll think of him every time someone opens the door for me from now on.

Oh no, oh no, oh no...

“Every time you come to the restaurant, you cook for yourself. You’ve never tried anything I’ve made before,” he said as he drove.

"Yeah, you put me in the amateur group the moment we met. How could I possibly try anything from your professional group?" I hold a grudge.

He chuckled twice and said, "I was blind to your greatness. Now that you've eaten from me, you can take this opportunity to criticize me properly."

Actually, I wanted to say that I'm not your father-in-law, so I don't know you well enough to ask, but after thinking about it, I didn't say it.

Kurosawa has a baby face, and when he looks like a 28-year-old sporty young man, he can easily fool young girls.

That's why Shao Yuzhe said he was young; in fact, he's older than all of us.

I've noticed before that he looks quite cute when he wears the long apron in the store.

I had dinner at Shao Yuzhe's house yesterday, and I've seen him wear an apron before. It's a completely different style. Shao Yuzhe exudes a calmness that gives me a warm and safe feeling.

It's that feeling where when you see him wearing an apron, the word "home" pops into your head.

Actually, I once jokingly said that I wanted to marry a man who looked very handsome in an apron.

Soon, a table full of typical Japanese dishes appeared, each dish in small portions, resulting in a wide variety of options.

I've had such a great time eating these past few days; I can finally throw away my old home health scale when I get home.

After finishing my meal, I planned to take a nap back at the company, but an email I received completely extinguished my sleepiness.

"Mom is coming." She'll arrive on a plane from Japan at 7 p.m. tonight.

A chill ran through me. After I got into university, my parents secretly took the money and went on a trip. So when I returned home for my first summer vacation, I found an empty house and a letter.

Then, after I found a job, the two of them went even further and sold the house. So much so that when I was about to go home to check on the house during my first year, I received an email.

Traveling the world has always been the couple's wish.

As a result, this incident left a terrible shadow on my young mind, and I decided that I would also live such an irresponsible life in the future.

He struggled in the first half of his life and squandered it in the second.

I do whatever comes to mind, without a plan, and without consulting anyone.

But now Mom says she's coming to see me specifically.

Usually, during holidays or major events, they would send me an imperial edict via email to summon me to an audience, and I would obediently board a plane and travel all over the world.

But this time...

Something must have happened. Chapter Three

Standing outside the airport, I hesitated for a moment.

Then I went inside and found my mom without much trouble.

The specific process is as follows:

First, I saw a very tall, handsome, and cool man in the crowd. He was the center of attention, so everyone was looking at him.

Then my gaze shifted downwards and I saw two middle-aged women who seemed out of place with him. Okay, one of them was my mom.

I went up to her and respectfully called out, "Mom!"

"Xiao Nuan, it's been so long! Come here, let Mommy see you." It really has been a long time.

"Xiao Nuan, this is Aunt Hayakawa, and behind her is her son, Hayakawa Noriyuki." After my mother and I recognized each other, she hurriedly introduced another middle-aged woman and that handsome man.

"You must be the president of Hayakawa Enterprises?" I asked Mrs. Hayakawa after giving her a polite greeting.

The other party wasn't surprised, just smiled gently, after all, Hayakawa Enterprises is a well-known company.

"Mom, where's Dad?" The two of them, who were like conjoined twins, were actually separated.

"He was supposed to come too, but he caught a cold the day before he was supposed to leave. He's probably in bed groaning now. He's too old to be of any use."

"Oh." I responded blankly. Actually, I really wanted to say why Mom wasn't by Dad's side to take care of him when he was sick, but instead came here. However, knowing Mom's personality, she would probably say something like, "Does she not want Mom to come?"

It could kill someone.

“This time, Kinoshita is coming here to develop her career, and when I told her that you were here, Aunt Hayakawa said she would come and take a look.”
