Hell Demon - Chapter 7
"My God!" Zhang Wen couldn't believe his eyes. What was that face? It was a spherical, white insect nest with a non-humanoid demonic face! Several pairs of terrifying, long, sharp teeth were wriggling on the swaying insect face! With its terrifying cry, it flew straight up above Zhang Wen's head, raised its gleaming fire axe high, and brought it down on Zhang Wen with a crushing blow!
Fast, incredibly fast! Zhang Wen, quick as lightning, rolled across the ground to the left, and Wang Ming's axe, unable to stop its momentum, struck the marble slab Zhang Wen had rolled away. With a deafening boom, the entire slab shattered into hundreds of burning fragments under the magical impact, scattering like ripples on water in all directions! Dozens of long sparks of electricity shot out from the point where the axe struck, illuminating the surrounding area, demonstrating the immense power of the attack!
---Magpie Bridge Fairy
Reply [26]: Good for you, Zhang Wen! In the blink of an eye, he had already sprung to his knees on the ground, and in the instant of the flash of electricity, his pistol was aimed at Wang Ming's terrifying insect-like face on the forehead in a fraction of a second. "Bang, bang, bang!" With three gunshots, Zhang Wen had fired three shots as fast as lightning!
With a "ding," the lights in the pitch-black lobby suddenly and automatically switched back on, instantly restoring the hospital to normal power and lighting! Wang Ming, who had fallen heavily to the ground, only moved slightly before going still! At the same time, a strange "hissing" sound rang out, and large plumes of thick white smoke instantly rose from his face and hands, quickly dissipating into the air—a bizarre, eerie, and terrifying sight!
Seeing this, Zhang Wen and the others couldn't help but feel a sense of fear and confusion. They cautiously surrounded him, and by the light of the strange lamp, they looked at Wang Ming on the ground and were all shocked!
Good heavens! After the thick white smoke rose, Wang Ming's face returned to its normal shape, his original mustache! The huge, thick demonic insect face had inexplicably vanished without a trace! The giant ghostly hands had also returned to their original human hands! But three terrifying bloody holes pierced his forehead, and fresh blood was gushing from the holes, spilling onto the cold ground, spreading outwards, sending chills down one's spine!
"My God, what's going on?" Lu Manlin, who had returned to the crowd, stared at Wang Ming, who had been restored to his original state after death, and felt an unprecedented and immense terror! Recalling his experience in the autopsy room, he couldn't help but feel waves of fear and disbelief!
Looking at Wang Ming's corpse, Zhang Wen felt an unprecedented fear and chill. What on earth happened?
He clearly remembered seeing a terrifying insect demon's face just now, but how could it have vanished after rising into a puff of white smoke! He was certain that what he had just seen was not an illusion! It was too terrifying and unbelievable!
As the lights came on, Zhang Wen looked around and saw a bloody and tragic scene in the hospital lobby. The ground was littered with mangled corpses and bloodied limbs, a truly gruesome sight. Some surviving wounded people were screaming and groaning on the ground, a testament to the frenzy and horror of the massacre. Meanwhile, some unharmed patients and nurses, recovering from their shock, were helping and caring for the injured under Lu Manlin's direction, a scene of utter devastation.
Seeing this terrifying scene, Zhang Wen felt a chill run down his spine. What on earth had caused such a terrible thing to happen here?
He quickly made a call to the police station, reporting a horrific and serious murder case, and ordered his colleagues to come to the scene immediately!
Just then, Longbo's two big yellow dogs rushed in, barking wildly. Their broken chains were flying around their necks. It turned out that when the incident happened, Longbo was afraid that they would rush into the hall and accidentally hurt people, so he tied them to the iron bars. Unexpectedly, they fiercely broke the chains and rushed in, which showed how extremely abnormal their emotions were!
After they rushed into the hall, they barked wildly at the corridor leading from the hall to the back garden, extremely excited and terrifying. Then they rushed over with "woof, woof, woof," as if they had seen an incredibly terrifying enemy. But strangely, everyone saw that the corridor was completely empty, without a single person in sight.
"Woof, woof, woof!" The two wolfhounds barked like madmen as they rushed across the long back corridor, out the door, and onto the lawn of the back garden under the dark moonlight and starlight. They barked wildly at the sky to their left. Zhang Wen and Uncle Long followed them into the garden. By the pale moonlight and dim streetlights, they looked to the left in the direction of the barking, but there was nothing there—no one at all!
For some reason, Zhang Wen suddenly remembered an ancient legend that dogs could see supernatural things that human eyes could not see, and he couldn't help but feel a chill down his spine!
A strange wind suddenly blew up above the bushes and flowers to the left of the two dogs that were barking wildly, causing the flowers and trees to sway. Ah Huang and Ah Chen, the two big, spiky dogs, also chased after the wind in the direction it was blowing, and Long Bo and Zhang Wen followed suit.
The two dogs dashed swiftly through patches of grass and bushes, rushing to the entrance of the air-raid shelter below the slope to the left of the hospital's main building. Upon reaching the iron gate, Ah Huang and Ah Chen immediately became even more ferocious and aggressive! They barked their sharp white teeth, barking incessantly at the dark tunnel inside the air-raid shelter as if they had gone mad. But for some reason, Zhang Wen noticed that although they barked fiercely, they dared not rush in!
"What kind of place is this air-raid shelter?" Zhang Wen asked Uncle Long as he rushed to the entrance of the shelter with the dog.
Looking at the three-tiered anti-slip slope above the cave, Uncle Long smiled bitterly, "I heard this was left behind by the Japanese army during World War II. I heard it's very deep inside, and it's rumored to be a forbidden area where the Japanese tortured and killed people. It's been like this for many years. Because the government required us to build an anti-slip slope on this hillside when they were building the hospital, which cost some money, Director Bai refused to seal it off!" Uncle Long paused, then said with a look of horror, "Last night, a woman was strangely seriously injured and died here. This place is really unlucky!"
Looking at the air-raid shelter, for some reason, for a moment, Zhang Wen felt as if the shelter was staring at him. He shook his head to regain his senses and wondered why he had such a strange feeling.
Zhang Wen unconsciously walked to the steel door of the air-raid shelter. He touched the cold iron bars with his hand. A slow, eerie wind blew out from the dark abyss of the cave, making Zhang Wen feel dizzy and weak-kneed. At the same time, the two ferocious wolfhounds suddenly whimpered and retreated in fear, as if they had sensed something invisible and terrifying in the eerie wind.
Zhang Wen involuntarily took a few steps back. He suddenly felt a strange sense of fear in front of the air-raid shelter door. He felt his instincts were warning him not to enter the air-raid shelter!
The two dogs whimpered and lowered their heads, turning around and running away in fear. At the same time, the sound of police cars approaching could be heard from afar. Zhang Wen and Long Bo also rushed away from the air-raid shelter! In their hurried run and silence, they both felt that the farther away from the air-raid shelter the better! ⅰⅰⅰ?--Magpie Bridge Fairy replied [27]: In the sixth part, in dormitory room 203, Father Mott was lying on the bed waiting for Zhang Shanling's call. Although he was very scared, he felt that as a priest, he should never ignore the fact that there were evil spirits.
But he was very anxious inside, as if an invisible instinct was telling him to stop caring about New Conley Hospital.
He started having a fever and dizziness after dinner tonight and felt very unwell. He didn't know if it was related to his desire to contact Zhang Shanling, but he still wanted to talk to her as soon as possible to see if she could find a monk who knew exorcism, since she had close ties with many people in the parish.
“We shouldn’t stand idly by while evil spirits roam.” Father Mott was watching TV in bed, talking to himself as he drifted off to sleep, falling into a half-awake state… In his hazy state, Father Mott felt as if he were floating. A black table and chair flashed past him in the darkness. In his dazed state, he seemed to see a vast expanse of solemn and sacred church murals, depicting the Virgin Mary and many angels flying peacefully and beautifully in heaven, with colorful St. Satie trees and white cloud meadows among the angels.
Then the murals kept flashing past him, then became blurry, blurry again... Then, at some point, Father Mott seemed to see coffins flitting past him in the darkness, then again. For a while, he seemed to be standing in the darkness, preaching to a group of believers and talking about the Bible. He spoke of the miracles of saints, the Virgin Mary, and the Holy Spirit. As he spoke, he spoke of the temptations of the devil, of evil demons. Father Mott spoke passionately, saying that one day, no matter how powerful they are, the Lord will punish them. Suddenly, all the believers below his pulpit began to grin, emitting a sinister and terrifying laugh.
Father Mott was so frightened that he looked down. Good heavens! The group of believers below the pulpit suddenly went from blurry to clear. Good heavens! These weren't believers at all; they were a group of white-boned skeletons dressed in black, all grinning and sneering… “No! No!” Father Mott screamed, not knowing what was happening. Suddenly, he found himself back in bed, back in room 203. For some reason, the walls around him seemed to have turned completely dark.
“Don’t be afraid, Father Mott, I will help you.” A voice sounded above Father Mott’s head. Father Mott looked up and found that a monk dressed in black was standing in front of the bed with his back to him.
“Who are you?” Father Mott asked loudly, but found himself unable to speak.
"Hahaha!" Suddenly, the monk carrying him turned around abruptly with a sinister laugh, revealing himself to Father Mott. Father Mott took a look, and what he saw terrified him. The monk was none other than Zhang Xinyan, who had died tragically in the toilet that afternoon. At that moment, he was staring fiercely at Father Mott with only half of his face covered in blood!
"You killed me! You killed me! You filthy priest!" Zhang Xinyan, with only half a disfigured face, grinned viciously and raised his bloody, ghostly hands to grab Father Mott's neck!
Father Ammote let out a scream as his neck was gripped tightly by hands that had suddenly become incredibly strong. With a "whoosh," the hands ripping open his throat, blood splattering like rain... Father Ammote screamed as he woke from his nightmare. He sat bolt upright in bed, his entire body and face covered in cold sweat. The nightmare had indeed been too realistic and terrifying... "Huff—huff," Father Ammote gasped for breath, his heart pounding. He glanced at the alarm clock beside his bed; it was already three in the morning.
Suddenly, the phone by the bed started ringing like crazy. The red light on the phone flashed a blinding red light along with the terrifying ringing, like a deadly lamp beckoning souls.
For some reason, Father Mott felt a chill run down his spine. Could it be... could it be that terrifying phone call from that afternoon again?
Father Mott felt a sudden chill run through his body, his back trembled uncontrollably, and a tremendous sense of terror washed over him. He almost wanted to run out the door and escape!
But he still mustered the courage to answer the phone, his voice trembling as he asked, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Ah Zhen!" The voice that came through the phone was Ah Zhen, Zhang Shanling's roommate.
"Hu!" Father Mott finally breathed a long sigh of relief; he had only scared himself. "Ah Zhen, has Ah Ling returned?"
“Father…it’s…it’s too terrible, Ah Ling…Ah Ling, she…she…” The voice coming from the phone was Ah Zhen crying.
Upon hearing Ah Zhen's cries, Father Mott immediately sensed something was wrong. His emotions, which had just eased, inexplicably tightened again, his heart raced, and his hands and head froze instantly. From Ah Zhen's trembling cries, he was almost certain that Ah Ling had been in trouble.
"Ah Ling, what happened to Ah Ling...?" Father Mott realized his voice was distorted.
"I just received a call from the colleague who accompanied her to the hospital. After Ah Ling and the others finished their treatment, they were waiting for the bus at the station... Waaah... when a bus suddenly went out of control and crashed into the station, crushing them to the ground. Waaah, it's so terrible! Ah Ling was such a good person, how could such an accident happen to her? She died so tragically! It's so horrible, Father. The news is probably being reported on TV right now..." Father Mott froze instantly. His hand stiffened as he held the microphone to his ear, but his mind went blank. He stared blankly at the television, completely oblivious to what Ah Zhen was saying afterward!
Could this accident have occurred because the divinely powerful cross had been lost? Could it have been orchestrated by some terrifying force? These two dreadful thoughts kept flashing through his mind.
Father Mott sat there motionless for more than ten minutes before he finally snapped out of his daze and came back to reality. But by then, the phone in his ear was just ringing. Ah Zhen had disconnected sometime earlier.
Father Mott put down the phone blankly and burst into tears. What a coincidence! Just when he was trying to find Ah Ling, something kept happening, including this terrible traffic accident. Wasn't it too eerie?
He turned back to the television. The news was reporting, "Two hours ago, a traffic accident occurred at bus stop 566 Shari Road. A double-decker bus lost control and plowed into the crowd waiting at the station. Three people were killed instantly, and seven were injured. One of the deceased was identified as a nun from a convent in the Seven Dragons district, and the other two were real estate company employees leaving get off work." The television screen also showed a bus that had crashed deep into the station and come to a stop. The station's license plate was deformed and bent over, and there was a large pool of blood and rubble on the ground. The lights of an ambulance were flashing... Father Mott closed his eyes in anguish, unable to bear watching any longer.

Reply [28]: At the same time, the TV news reporter suddenly interrupted the normal report, and a tense and cold voice urgently rang in Mott's ears: "This is an emergency news report. We have just received news that a major murder has occurred at the New Conley Hospital in Da Yaoshan. An intern doctor suspected of being mentally unstable suddenly went berserk and frantically killed hospital staff with an axe. According to unconfirmed reports, fifteen patients and staff members were killed and seventeen people were injured. The murderer was shot dead on the spot by plainclothes police officers who arrived at the scene..." Upon hearing this terrible news, Father Mott screamed in fright, "No! No!" My God, how could such a terrible murder happen in the hospital! Unable to bear the shock, he kicked the TV switch off. He could not watch anymore. He painfully hit the bed with his hands. A terrible thought flashed through his mind: it must be the work of evil spirits!
At the same time, the phone by his bedside rang again.
Despite his fear, Father Mott mustered all his strength and reached out to take the phone.
"Hello, is this Father Mott?" Zhang Wen's hurried voice came through the phone, accompanied by the piercing sirens of police cars and the clamor of a crowd. Clearly, he was at the scene of an accident!
Father Mott quickly replied, "It's me, Sir Zhang! That's great, I was just looking for you!"
“I also wanted to see you, Father. I’m currently dealing with a scene at New Conley Hospital. Something terrible just happened. I saw some unbelievable things that I can’t explain in detail here. I think we should meet at Chi Kee Seafood Restaurant tomorrow night. What do you think?”
“Okay, see you tomorrow night!” After Father Mott finished speaking, Zhang Wen disconnected the phone.
He let out a long sigh. He decided to speak with Dean Jia Renlong the next morning, because so many terrible things that had happened in one day proved that it was no illusion! It seemed that there really was an extremely vicious, destructive, and evil force at New Kangli Hospital! It was practically like a terrifying demon that had crawled out of the bottomless pit of hell in legends!
A terrifying thought flashed through his mind: what would happen to him and Zhang Wen if they were to become deeply involved in this matter? Would this terrifying force let them go?
"What exactly is this evil spirit residing in New Conley Hospital?" Father Mott wondered.
Amidst the wailing lights of police cars and the large numbers of officers moving about to handle the scene, Zhang Wen was standing next to the hospital building, making a phone call to Father Mott. Standing beside him was Dr. Lu Manlin.
"Zhang Sir, you must believe me, everything I just told you is true!" Lu Manlin said excitedly. It turned out that before Zhang Wen made the call, he had told Zhang Wen in detail about the terrible things that happened before Wang Ming went crazy that night.
"I know! I believe you!" Zhang Wen said with a bitter smile after putting down his phone, but he felt no warmth at all, only a chilling coldness throughout his body!
After saying goodbye to Lu Manlin, Zhang Wen greeted the on-site commander and went home first, because he found that it was already past midnight on his watch, and his wife An Li must be going crazy waiting for him at home.
He returned to his car, started the engine, turned on the lights, shifted gears, and stepped on the gas. The car quickly left the scene at Xinkangli Hospital, where police cars and crowds of reporters were gathered, and headed towards the dark Dayaoshan Highway outside the hospital.
As Zhang Wen drove through the hospital's iron gate, he suddenly felt as if someone was watching him from the security guard post next to the gate. He instinctively looked towards the post, but there was no one inside. Only the half-open post door was slowly swaying open in the night breeze!
It was as if an unseen person was opening the door!
Before he could think it through, Zhang Wen had already left the iron gate and guard post behind in his Toyota and quickly drove onto the gloomy Dayaoshan Highway, which appeared eerie under the streetlights and moonlight.
Fifteen minutes later, Zhang Wen had driven his car to the road halfway up the southern slope of Dayao Mountain. The dark, rolling forests on both sides rushed past his car window. The eerie, pale moonlight, like a silver river, spilled onto the forest and the road, reflecting a strange, dizzying glow. Zhang Wen noticed that tonight's moon was exceptionally bright and round, making Dayao Mountain appear as if it were covered with a layer of eerie, white, bone-like carpet!
From the beam of light from the headlights and the streetlights ahead, it was clear that a downward turn appeared a dozen meters ahead. Zhang Wen instinctively slowed down and drove down the turn. Just as he was turning into the turn, he suddenly saw a policeman in a green uniform standing under a large tree by the roadside, waving at him. He was very clear and white in the moonlight!
"Could it be that another brother has gotten into trouble?" Zhang Wen quickly slammed on the brakes and stopped the car on the side of the road where the police were standing.
"Brother, what's up?" Zhang Wen turned around to look again. What he saw sent chills down his spine. Good heavens, the policeman by the roadside was gone! Where was the policeman under that big tree? The spot where the policeman had been standing under the tree was now... now it was a speed limit sign! But Zhang Wen clearly remembered seeing a policeman waving at him from that spot just moments ago. How could it have turned into a traffic sign in the blink of an eye?
In an instant, Zhang Wen also felt a strange and terrifying sensation. He was certain that what he had just seen was not a hallucination or illusion! At this moment, the cold, round traffic sign reflected a strange and unsettling aura in the moonlight and streetlights!
At the same time, a terrible thought flashed through his mind: could the policeman just now have been transformed from this traffic sign?
Before Zhang Wen could think further, his phone rang, the ringing snapping him back to reality.
He took the phone, and at the same time, he realized he hadn't called his wife yet. Could it be her calling? He answered and asked loudly, "Who is it?"
Late at night, in a high-end residential area near Repulse Bay, in one of the three-story villas with a private garden, a young woman of about thirty years old, with some beauty, sat in the luxurious and French-style living room, drinking coffee brought by her servant, Ah Geng, anxiously waiting for her husband.
She was Zhang Wen's wife, An Li. She had an oval, snow-white face and beautiful almond-shaped eyes. She was the daughter of a wealthy man; this villa was a gift from her father. Due to her family's wealth, she had been willful and spoiled since childhood. When she fell madly in love with Zhang Wen, her beauty and assertiveness made him unable to resist, and the two married three years ago. She insisted on waiting for her husband to come home before she would rest, displaying extreme capriciousness!
---Magpie Bridge Fairy
Reply [29]: She looked at her watch; it was already two in the morning. She drank a few sips of coffee while cursing Zhang Wen for not returning yet! She had received a call from Zhang Wen an hour earlier, who said he would be back soon and that he would be late tonight because he was dealing with a murder case at New Conley Hospital! But now... At this moment, the servant A Geng received a call saying that there was an emergency at home and he had to ask An Li for two days off. An Li impatiently agreed, and A Geng left immediately.
Anli noticed that the moonlight tonight was very round and white. The pale moonlight, like a dark and cold skeleton, shone through the night sky and onto the balcony, giving the balcony a strange and inexplicable feeling.
While watching TV, for some reason, the TV suddenly started displaying gibberish, and she couldn't see any programs. At the same time, Anli suddenly felt very dizzy. She turned off the TV and the living room lights and went into her bedroom to rest.
Lying in the dark bedroom, she quickly drifted into a hazy state. She seemed to feel a dark shadow moving around in the room, then, in a half-awake, half-asleep state—it felt like a dream, yet also like she was fully conscious—she felt her body float up straight off the bed, incredibly rising towards the ceiling. She tried to scream, but found herself unable to make a sound. She tried to move, but found her whole body frozen in place. The whole scene was as blurry as a slow-motion scene in a movie… Then, she suddenly struggled to fully wake herself from her half-awake state, and at the same time, her body and soul instantly returned to the bed. She struggled to open her eyes and realized she was lying in bed. Only then did she think, perhaps it was just a dream!
She closed her eyes, trying to go back to sleep, when suddenly she heard a series of "whooshing" sounds coming from the direction of the living room.
In the darkness and silence, listening to this sound, Anli suddenly felt a strange sense of dread. She instinctively got out of bed, pushed open the bedroom door, and went alone to the living room. In the dark living room, the hazy, pale moonlight shone like mercury on the various pieces of furniture, reflecting an eerie and unsettling atmosphere.
The "whoosh whoosh whoosh" sound rang out again. Anli recognized that the sound was coming from the ceiling. She looked up and, with the help of the silvery moonlight streaming in from the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, she realized that the sound was coming from the expensive peach wood ceiling fan that was integrated with the chandelier. It turned out that it had started spinning automatically at some point, and that was the sound of its rotating airflow.
A sudden gust of wind blew Anli's hair and clothes up and down, which looked very strange!
Anli was puzzled. She remembered that she hadn't turned on the fan. How could it have started on its own?
She quickly went to the east side and turned off the fan. Just then, a clear "ding-dong" sound rang out from outside the gate.
"Who is it?" Anli asked loudly as she walked over.
"It's me, wife, open the door quickly." A familiar voice came from outside the door soon after. Wasn't it her husband Zhang Wen's voice?
Upon hearing her husband's voice, Anli was overjoyed, and the fear she had felt earlier vanished. She rushed over and opened the door.
Standing outside the gate was Zhang Wen, a man of imposing appearance but looking exhausted.
Anli happily rushed into Zhang Wen's arms and kissed him, "Honey, why are you so late? I missed you so much!"
“A major case has occurred! An intern at New Kangli Hospital went berserk and killed people! It’s terrifying. I even saw some unbelievable scenes. It’s truly unbelievable!” Zhang Wen said as he turned on the living room light.
Under the light, Anli noticed that her husband's face was deathly pale, which was quite frightening!
"I'm so tired today," Zhang Wen said with a wry smile. The two sat down on the sofa, hugged and kissed each other, and then Zhang Wen said weakly, "Is A-Geng here? Ask him to cook some noodles for me."
"He just took leave and left. How about I cook for you?"
“No, Ali, since that’s the case, why don’t we eat out? I know there’s a new 24-hour Japanese sushi restaurant that recently opened in the New Territories. Why don’t we go there?” Zhang Wen said with a smile.
"Okay, wait for me a moment," Anli hurriedly went back to her room to change her clothes. For some reason, there was a strange sense of unease in the house tonight, making her feel uncomfortable all over. She had been wanting to go out for a walk for a while!
