Chapter 9

Jin was so engrossed in watching that he felt as if he had drunk all the wine himself, and a hazy sense of intoxication rose in his heart.

.

Watching kids drink is enjoyable, but when kids get drunk, it's a different story.

By the time Jin returned and realized something was wrong, it was too late.

"It's delicious, I want more!" The little girl clung to him and reached for the wine jug.

The little girl loves to drink, but her alcohol tolerance is really low. Jin was having a headache. He lifted her off him, only to find her swaying and unable to sit steadily. He had no choice but to let her lie back in his arms. He was inwardly groaning, "I only ate a few pieces of cake from you, but you took advantage of me twice for nothing. I've lost out."

He sighed and patted her face: "Hey, little girl, little girl? Lingling?"

Qiu Lingling barely opened her eyes, looked up at him with a puzzled expression, her bright eyes now glazed over.

Jin then asked, "Where do you live? Shall I take you home?"

Whether she understood or not, Qiu Lingling just made a "hmm" sound, looking completely bewildered.

Seeing her like this, Jin realized that asking her again would be futile. Helpless, Jin thought to himself that since she recognized the wine, the place where she stole it must be her house. He had no choice but to send her home as soon as possible.

He reached out to help her up, but when he looked down, he saw a heart-stopping scene.

Her serene face was bathed in moonlight, her eyelids lowered, and the shadows cast by her long eyelashes were clearly visible, trembling slightly, with a sweet smile still lingering on her lips.

Jin Huanlai was actually distracted.

Although her petite body was still young, it was well-developed, already showing clear and beautiful curves. Her snow-white and smooth arms were exposed outside her shirt, delicate and fragile. She slowly touched his body until she found a comfortable position, then stopped and quietly held him as they fell asleep.

Jin suddenly felt his throat go dry.

No way! She's just a fourteen-year-old girl. Although some girls her age can engage in certain activities, Master Jin is the dignified leader of the Thousand Hands Sect, with boundless charm and a knack for spending money. How could he do something so tasteless as taking advantage of someone in distress? He's a master thief, and he doesn't want to add the word "flower picking" to his name, especially since the flower in front of him is still unopened.

The body in my arms stirred again; it was soft, warm, and had a sweet scent.

This is a child, a little kid! Jin tried his best to maintain his composure, but his body's reaction couldn't lie. He could only grit his teeth, pick her up and stand up, secretly glad that the person in his arms hadn't woken up. He hadn't seen a woman for only a few days, and he was already so hungry that he couldn't be indiscriminate. He could even have wicked thoughts about such a young girl. He must be out of his mind. He's not normal!

We need to get the little girl back quickly, and then find a place to take care of her physical needs.

.

Jin Huanlai swore he would never give the little girl alcohol again. Luckily, she finally remembered where the room was, otherwise there would have been real trouble. He was thrown onto the bed, but the little girl clung to his arm and wouldn't let go. Helpless, Jin Huanlai had no choice but to agree to the "date" the next day before he could coax her to sleep.

How could a dignified leader break his promise? Despite being bothered by the children, Jin was not in a bad mood.

At least, life isn't so lonely and boring.

"Do you have wings?" I touched his back.

"I'm a human, how could I have wings?"

"But I dreamt last night that you could fly, and you carried me back home," the little girl said, puzzled.

Jin laughed loudly.

So, he slept and practiced during the day, and dealt with teaching affairs at night. Except for the occasional need to take care of his physical needs, he spent his free time with the children. After two or three months, he lived a pretty comfortable life.

Until one day, the mute servant came to him carrying a golden feather.

"It's been so long, the old man still remembers me."

.

Behind the mountain lies the Retreat Valley, a secluded retreat for successive sect leaders. When Jin Sihai built this valley, to prevent outsiders from entering, he specially asked a friend skilled in Qimen Dunjia to help set up a formation, so that only the new sect leader knows the way in.

As soon as Jin entered the room, he heard the familiar sound of wind and immediately instinctively dodged to avoid it.

Once a new leader takes the throne, the old leader will no longer be involved. This is the rule of the Thousand Hands Sect, and it is also to prevent internal strife. So after exchanging greetings in a familiar manner, Jin Yue did not ask him about the situation within the sect.

Jin returned to sit on the futon and tossed the golden feather back to him: "What do you want?"

Jin Yue cut to the chase: "You know, all the leaders of our Thousand Hands Sect have been to the capital."

Jin laughed: "Stealing the emperor's things?"

Jin Yue nodded: "As the leader, one must naturally demonstrate some skills to gain everyone's respect. This has become the rule of the Thousand Hands Sect."

"Is it absolutely necessary to go?"

"right."

"A trip to the capital would be good," Jin said, before asking, "What treasure do you want me to steal?"

Jin Yue said, "It's just something I grab casually; the closer it is to my body, the better."

Jin sighed, "You've stolen all the gold buttons from the dragon robe, old man. What could be more intimate? Are you going to strip the emperor's clothes off?"

Upon hearing him bring up this matter, Jin Yue was somewhat proud, but quickly shook his head: "With your skills, it wouldn't be difficult for you to fool those imperial guards. This trip isn't particularly dangerous, but you must remember that the reason our Thousand Hands Sect can repeatedly enter and leave the palace is partly because the court doesn't hold it against us. Although the court and the Thousand Hands Sect are on good terms, this is something that is understood by both sides, so we must not go too far in anything."

Jin nodded: "So it was asking the imperial court to help put on a show for others."

Jin Yue cursed, "You brat! This act has to be real. The Emperor may not care, but if your skills are too poor and you alarm the Imperial Guards, hmph, you might end up with your head hanging on the city wall."

Jin then said, "Aren't you old man without a successor?"

“So you’d better come back alive,” Jin Yue glared at him, then smiled mysteriously. “Actually, all the leaders of my Thousand Hands Sect have been incredibly powerful. Entering and leaving the palace is a testament to their abilities. There’s a secret that even the Emperor doesn’t know: the plaque in the middle of the Golden Palace. Every leader who has visited it has left their name on the back of it. Don’t forget that this time.”

"I need an autograph?" Jin smiled and said, "I know, I'll be leaving tomorrow."

.

After spending two or three months together, the Dharma Protectors finally got to know their new leader's temperament and became familiar with his catchphrase "punishment." They felt much more at ease and gradually resumed their usual efficiency. Jin returned to the sect, finished explaining the affairs of the past two months, and was about to say goodbye to his "little friend" when a branch leader presented him with a visiting card, saying it was for his subordinates.

Jin opened it and frowned after reading it: "'Half Moon Dew'? This poison is cold and vicious, it should have been extinct long ago, I didn't expect it to still exist in the world today."

Upon hearing the words "Half Moon Dew," the crowd below all showed resentment.

Protector Qian and Yin Fei stepped forward: "This subordinate dares to ask the sect leader, is someone seeking the antidote for 'Half-Moon Dew'?"

Jin did not answer.

Silver Protector Zheng Jiaojiao stepped forward and said hatefully, "Master, we must not agree to him!"

Jin remained noncommittal: "How does he know that my Thousand Hands Sect can cure 'Half-Moon Dew'?"

Yin Fei sneered: "The old leader himself said that only the leader of the Thousand Hands Sect can cure the 'Half Moon Dew' poison. A year ago, this person asked the old leader for the antidote, but the old leader did not agree. In his anger and shame, this person made wild remarks, saying that he would wipe out our sect. Only because he was highly skilled in martial arts and young, the old leader did not hold it against him."

Pshaw, he doesn't even know how to cure it, how dare he agree? That old guy is really bragging. If he could cure "Half-Moon Dew," I, Jin Huanlai, would never touch poison again in my life.

Jin was both amused and astonished: "How could someone who's been poisoned by 'Half-Moon Dew' survive until now?"

Yin Fei also wondered, "This is strange. An ordinary person who is poisoned by 'Half-Moon Dew' can only live for half a month at most. I don't know what method he used. He must have heard the news of the new leader's ascension to the throne recently, which is why he came to us again."

Jin Huanlai said, "This person has quite a reputation. It wouldn't be a bad thing to befriend him."

Jade Protector Hua Yunfeng hurriedly said, "Master, you don't know, but this person cut off thirty-three hands of our sect just one year after he debuted. He even sent a message back to curse our Thousand Hands Sect members as poor and despicable..."

Jin interrupted him again: "Poor and despicable?"

Yin Fei said, "Indeed, this person is utterly despicable!"

Jin sneered and threw the post aside: "In that case, you should reply to him and say that this leader has no time to deal with it."

Everyone was overjoyed: "Our leader is wise!"

.

In the middle of the night, two figures sat on a large rock by the stream.

Is the place you're going to very far away?

"yes."

Qiu Lingling lowered her head silently, thought for a long time, and then asked in a low voice, "When are you coming back?"

"Little girl, are you reluctant to part with me?" Jin smiled, feeling a warmth in his heart: "Three months. On the fifteenth of three months from now, I'll be waiting for you here."

Qiu Lingling was a little happier then: "Really?"

"But you can't run away alone anymore."

"good."

Feeling constantly remembered, Jin lay down on the rock, in a good mood.

Qiu Lingling sat beside him, resting her chin on her hand and watching him for a while, before suddenly asking, "Can you steal money now?"

Jin nodded: "Yes, I have money now."

She said "Oh," and then said, "Then...can you teach me how to steal?"

Jin gasped, then sat up abruptly: "What?"

She said softly, "Can you teach me how to be a thief?"

Who in this world would be so bored as to steal? This little girl has a family and relatives, and she has no worries about food or clothing. How could she have such thoughts? Is she out of her mind? Jin Huanlai was greatly shocked. Heaven knows, I, Jin Huanlai, have absolutely not led the child astray, nor have I promoted any form of propaganda to her, nor have I instilled any bad ideas in her!

"Why do you want to be a thief?" he asked seriously.

"I can steal money by being a thief, I want money..." she murmured.

"You want money?" I'm dizzy with envy.

"kindness."

"Little money-grubber?" Jin replied seriously, "No way."

Qiu Lingling pouted and fell silent, a look of sorrow on her face.

Jin stood up: "Get up, I'll take you flying back."

"Fly?" Qiu Lingling's eyes lit up, her face tilted in disbelief. "You really have wings?"

Jin laughed loudly, scooped her up, and leaped into the air, his cloak billowing out like a gliding black bat, skimming smoothly over the trees by the stream.

Qiu Lingling stared in astonishment at the treetops swaying below, and it took her a while to come to her senses before she exclaimed, "So you really can fly!"

Jin replied, "Of course, I'll fly to find you when I get back."

Qiu Lingling thought for a moment: "You're so amazing, how come you couldn't steal anything back then?"

Jin forced himself to admit, "Because I'm terrible."

"Can thieves fly?"

"Right?"

"Then I still want to be a thief."
