A sickly young man who travels back to the Song Dynasty - Chapter 6
"Han Yufeng, you stop right there!" Ouyang Han roared.
Han Yufeng turned around and gave Ouyang Han a funny face, then said, "Wait for my news! But the condition is that I get to see the great Li Yushan!" After saying that, he quickened his pace and disappeared without a trace.
Ouyang Han saw that Han Yufeng had already walked far away, so he stopped. "Did I really blush?" he wondered. "Could it be…?" Ouyang Han didn't want to think about this troubling question. So he also used his lightness skill to leave!
The next morning, Ouyang Han got up early. He wanted to show Li Yushan around the Hengxiang Villa.
This Hengxiang Villa was built by his father for his mother. After his mother died, it was allocated to him to live in.
"Yu Shan! Yu Shan! Get up!" Ouyang Han shook Du Peiru.
Who's calling Yu Shan? Why isn't Yu Shan answering him? He's disturbing everyone's sleep. "Go away! Go find Yu Shan if you need her, don't disturb other people's sleep!" Du Peiru waved her hand and said.
When Ouyang Han saw that she wouldn't wake up, he pinched Du Peiru's nose and said, "Yushan, wake up!"
Du Peiru couldn't breathe, so she slapped Ouyang Han's hand away and said, "I'm not the Yu Shan you're looking for! Don't bother me!"
Ouyang Han was at his wit's end when a brilliant idea struck him. "Yu Shan, if you don't get up, I'm going to kiss you!" Ouyang Han's face drew closer and closer. Suddenly, Du Peiru opened her eyes, cried out "No!", and sat up. Unfortunately, disaster struck; Du Peiru's delicate nose "kissed" Ouyang Han's forehead. "Ouch!" Du Peiru covered her nose, tears streaming down her face. "It hurts!"
"How are you? Let me see!" Ouyang Han hurriedly pulled away Du Peiru's hand that was covering her nose. "Thank goodness! Thank goodness! There's no nosebleed!" As soon as Ouyang Han finished speaking, bright red blood flowed from both nostrils.
"Oh my god! He's bleeding!" Ouyang Han exclaimed helplessly.

"Wow! It's all your fault! What do we do now? What do we do?" Du Peiru cried out in fear.
"Look up! Look up! I'll go find you something to plug your nostrils!"
After a flurry of activity, Ouyang Han finally managed to stop Du Peiru's bleeding! Ouyang Han apologized to Du Peiru repeatedly and promised to take her to visit Hengxiang Villa after breakfast, which finally calmed her down!
"Wow! Your garden is so beautiful!" Du Peiru exclaimed, laughing and jumping with joy.
"It's not my house, it's our house!" Ouyang Han sensed her happiness, and he couldn't help but grin as well! It was so nice to be with her! Luckily, he had the foresight to order the others not to come along, otherwise, having those people around would have been a real eyesore and would have ruined their time together.
Du Peiru didn't hear what Ouyang Han said at all. She continued to exclaim, "And there's a pond and a rockery too!"
"That artificial hill is called Seven Star Hill, and the pond is called Reflecting Moon Lake!" Ouyang Han stood smiling beside Du Peiru, acting as her guide.
"What? Reflecting Moon Lake?" Du Peiru said in surprise.
"Hmm! Because my mother really liked the Moon Reflection Lake outside the city, she named this pond Moon Reflection Lake!"
"Oh! I see!" Du Peiru said, then ran to the pond to play in the water. "It's so refreshing!"
"Let's go!" Ouyang Han said, grabbing Du Peiru's arm.
"But I still want to see those fish!" Du Peiru said, pouting.
“We’ll see it next time! We still have many places to visit!” Ouyang Han pulled Du Peiru away without giving her a chance to say anything more.
“Listening to the Rain Pavilion! What a strange name!” Du Peiru said, looking up at the plaque upstairs.
"My mother loved coming here to drink tea and listen to the rain, so that's how we got this name!"
"Listen to the rain? How do you listen to it?"
"Look, there are many banana trees and bamboos planted outside. When it rains, the raindrops hitting the leaves make a very pleasant sound!"
"Oh! Actually, I also really like listening to the rain. Every time it rains, I go out with an umbrella. The sound of rain hitting the umbrella is so nice! And I fall asleep very easily if I listen to the rain!"
“Even if you don’t fall asleep to the sound of rain, you’ll fall asleep very easily!” Ouyang Han teased her.
"Ugh! You're indirectly calling me a sleepyhead! How awful!" Du Peiru playfully punched Ouyang Han a few times.
Seeing Du Peiru's adorable appearance, Ouyang Han couldn't help but hug her.
Du Peiru was stunned! It felt so good to be held by him! She couldn't help but reach out and hug his waist in return. Although he was thin, his muscles were well-defined, and his complexion was rosy; he didn't look sick at all. But what puzzled her was why his face would turn pale rapidly whenever he saw anyone other than her? Even his body would become weak and limp, leaning against her! He was truly a bit perplexing!

Suddenly, Ouyang Han pushed her away and stammered, "Uh... um! I... let's go look at other places!"
As they walked, Ouyang Han couldn't help but steal a glance at Du Peiru, just as Du Peiru was also stealing a glance at Ouyang Han. Their eyes met, and they awkwardly turned their heads away. Both their faces were as red as Guan Yu's, and they wore silly smiles. If anyone saw them, they would definitely think they were idiots.
Ouyang Han led Du Peiru to the study, where a plaque hung above that read "Vast Sea of Books".
"Hey! Who wrote the inscriptions on these plaques?" Du Peiru asked.
“All the names in this ‘Hengxiang Villa’ were chosen by my mother, and she also wrote them herself!”
"Oh! Then she must be a talented woman!"
"Alas! It's a pity that beautiful women often have short lives!" Ouyang Han suddenly became melancholy.
Du Peiru didn't know how to comfort him, so she changed the subject, saying, "There are so many books here! Have you read them all?"
"Hmm! I've read some of them several times, and I've only skimmed some!"
"Wow! You can see the garden from here! Hey! What's that?" Du Peiru saw something moving, and as it got closer, she exclaimed, "Ah! It's a rabbit! How come I didn't see it before? I'm going to play with it!" After saying that, Du Peiru left Ouyang Han behind and ran off to play in the garden by herself.
Seeing this, Ouyang Han smiled and shook her head. She was practically like a child, curious about everything! However, Ouyang Han also discovered that things she used to find uninteresting now seemed quite fun. Perhaps it was because of the saying, "One is influenced by one's company."
It took Du Peiru many days to explore the entire Ouyang residence. However, in order to broaden Jin'er's horizons as well, Du Peiru took Jin'er to play in the garden of Hengxiang Villa.
“Miss, the young master’s garden is so beautiful!” Jin’er said with a beaming smile.
"You're so naive! The Imperial Garden in the palace is truly beautiful! If I ever have the chance, I'll definitely take you inside. The peonies there are as big as washbasins!" Heaven surely won't blame her for deceiving this ignorant maid! She was just giving Jin'er a sliver of hope. As the saying goes, "Life is beautiful when there is hope!" Haven't you heard? That's a famous quote from the great Du Peiru! Humph! So ignorant and uncultured! And this beautiful lie even brought Jin'er joy! Isn't Du Peiru great? She deserves a medal! Applause! Thank you! Du Peiru remained lost in her fantasy.
"Are the flowers there really that big? I wish I could have one!" Jin'er said enviously.
"Of course, no problem. As long as I can go into the palace to play, I'll make sure the Emperor picks as many as you want!"
"Heh! Heh! Miss! You must keep your word!" Jin'er's eyes shone with anticipation.
"Of course!" But the problem is that I'll never have the chance to enter the palace in this lifetime, so I'm not afraid of being exposed no matter how many lies I tell!
"Miss, there are two little birds here!" Jin'er exclaimed in surprise.
"Let me see! Let me see!" Du Peiru jumped over and saw two tiny birds, their feathers not yet fully grown, lying in Jin'er's palm. They were chirping happily. "How cute!" Du Peiru exclaimed in delight.
Sickly Hero (1)
"Miss, what should we do? They'll die if their mother bird doesn't feed them!" Jin'er pouted, looking like she was about to cry.
"Oh, I see!" Du Peiru looked up and saw a bird's nest in the fork of the tree above her head. The two little birds must have fallen from there. Luckily, they fell into the grass, otherwise they would have been dead long ago.
“Let’s put them back in that bird’s nest!” Du Peiru said, pointing to the bird’s nest in the tree.
"But...Miss, it's so high up there! How can we put it there?" Jin'er looked up at the towering tree and asked.
“Of course we’ll climb up!” Du Peiru rolled her eyes at Jin’er and then said.
"But, but... I can't climb trees, and I have a fear of heights!" Jin'er's legs went weak with fear.
"I didn't ask you to climb!" Du Peiru rolled her eyes at Jin'er and said.
"Then, who will climb?" Jin'er looked around but didn't see anyone.
"Me! Who else could be here besides me! Silly!" Du Peiru tapped Jin'er on the head and said.
"Miss, no! It's so high! What if you fall?"
"Pah! Pah! Pah! The bad ones don't come true, the good ones do! Are you cursing me to die?" Du Peiru glared at Jin'er and said.
Chapter Four
"I'm sorry, Miss, but... but..." Jin'er didn't know how to persuade Du Peiru, and she was extremely anxious.
"Stop talking! I've made up my mind!" Du Peiru held the little bird in one hand, took off her shoes, and climbed up the tree.
Ouyang Han was reading in his study when he suddenly heard the voices of Jin'er and Du Peiru coming from the garden. He couldn't help but listen carefully to their conversation. When Du Peiru mentioned that the peonies in the palace were as big as washbasins, he couldn't help but burst into laughter. He didn't know if she was just being silly, or if she was saying such a foolish thing to trick that dim-witted maid! Either way, she had successfully made him laugh. She really was a character! Wait! What was she doing? How come she had climbed that big tree without him noticing for a moment?! Without thinking, Ouyang Han yelled at Du Peiru, "Are you crazy? Get down here right now!"
Du Peiru happily climbed the big tree and successfully put the little bird back in its nest. But just then, Ouyang Han's roar came, which startled Du Peiru so much that she lost her grip and fell from the tree.
Upon seeing this, Ouyang Han immediately leaped out of the window. Thank goodness! Thank goodness! Thank goodness he caught her in time! As soon as they landed, Ouyang Han cursed, "Are you crazy?! Doing something so dangerous! Do you think you have nine lives like a cat?"
"Why are you yelling at me! If you hadn't scared me, I wouldn't have fallen from the tree. So you're fully responsible!"
"You...you...humph!" Ouyang Han turned and walked away angrily, saying as he went, "I'd have to be crazy to worry about you; I'd have to be crazy to be scared out of my wits by you; I'd have to be crazy to yell at you. I won't yell at you anymore, so don't worry!"
Sickly Hero (2)
Hearing his words, Du Peiru felt a warmth in her heart and realized she had indeed wronged him. Without thinking, she ran up to him and grabbed his sleeve. Ouyang Han shook her off. Du Peiru grabbed his sleeve again, this time holding on tightly, no matter how hard Ouyang Han tried to shake her off.
"Husband, don't be angry! I know I was wrong! I promise I'll never fall from a tree again, okay!"
"There's going to be a next time? You're going to climb again next time?" Ouyang Han stopped and said fiercely.
"No! No! No! There won't be a next time, there won't be a next time! I promise I won't climb trees again!" Seeing that Ouyang Han was even angrier, Du Peiru immediately held up three fingers and swore to the sky.
"Husband, don't be angry!" Du Peiru grabbed Ouyang Han's sleeves with both hands and shook them a few times.
Ouyang Han turned his head away, refusing to look at her, indicating that he would never forgive her easily. Seeing Ouyang Han turn his head away, Du Peiru ran to him and called out, "Husband!" Ouyang Han turned his head away again. Du Peiru stood there thinking for a moment, then suddenly a brilliant idea struck her. Hey! Hey! This trick will definitely work.
Du Peiru reached out and turned Ouyang Han's head, then offered her red lips. Ouyang Han was stunned for a moment, then suddenly remembered that Jin'er was still beside him, so he hurriedly pushed Du Peiru away, his face turning red to the roots of his ears, and scolded Du Peiru: "Nonsense!"
"Aren't you angry anymore?" Du Peiru asked, still a little worried.
"You're not allowed to climb trees anymore!" Ouyang said coldly.
"I knew my husband was the best!" Du Peiru hugged Ouyang Han happily.
Ouyang Han hurriedly pushed Du Peiru away and whispered, "Jin'er is still here!"
"Jin'er?" Du Peiru turned her head to look, but did not see Jin'er.
It turns out that Jin'er didn't want to be a third wheel and had already left!
"No!" Du Peiru looked at Ouyang Han strangely, and then said.
Hearing this, Ouyang Han looked around and, sure enough, there was no one there. He couldn't help but regret pushing Du Peiru away earlier. Du Peiru, as if reading his mind, took his arm and said, "How did you know I was here?"
