Chapter 5

Fu Mingxu took two steps back, easing the oppressive feeling caused by the large size difference between the two, and shook his head: "I'm not leaving."

What if you fall into demonic possession behind my back? Wouldn't I be at a loss for nothing?

Han Tao frowned and stared at him intently.

Fu Mingxu thought he believed that Fu Mingxu had other plans, so he brought up the excuse he had prepared after waking up: "The world is in chaos now, I can't cultivate spiritual energy, and I can hardly survive even if I leave the city lord's mansion."

As he spoke, the corners of his mouth turned down slightly, and his raven-black eyelashes cast two shadows beneath his eyelids. He said softly, "I took the Fu family's only Muscle Corruption Pill. If they find out I'm out alone, I'm afraid..."

The rest is up to Han Tao to imagine.

Sure enough, Han Tao remembered that the Muscle Rot Pill had already been used on himself. He also recalled that during the Path of Righteousness and Demonic Clan, although the human and dragon races joined forces to repel the demons, demons still managed to sneak in. Not to mention, monsters frequently appeared, and there was infighting among the human race.

He glanced at Fu Mingxu silently, his heart sinking slightly.

Unable to cultivate spiritual power, and possessing this appearance, it was fine when she stayed hidden within the Fu family, but if she were to roam the world...

The man's brows furrowed more and more, and a fierce glint flashed in his eyes. Fu Mingxu spoke up at the right moment: "Although I cannot cultivate, my alchemy skills are not bad. If I have the raw materials, I can also refine a few of the Muscle Corrosion Pills."

"Of course, my medical skills are quite good. Even if I can't treat the internal injuries of the city lord, I can certainly treat external injuries."

After appropriately showing weakness, one can then demonstrate their value, and with the changes in the dragon's tail as proof, who wouldn't want someone who can refine pills and make medicine without any cultivation?

Fu Mingxu felt that he was very useful now.

Moreover, Han Tao now shows no trace of the domineering presence that once filled the heavens and earth, and appears exceptionally easy to talk to.

Fu Mingxu attributed this solely to not having fallen into demonic possession yet.

After speaking, he looked quietly at Han Tao, clearly waiting for his reply.

Han Tao looked at him with a strange expression, as if he was seriously considering it before speaking: "Okay."

Fu Mingxu smiled with satisfaction, breathed a sigh of relief, and said confidently, "Don't worry, I will cure you."

Han Tao tugged at the corners of her mouth, a faint smile appearing and disappearing, but Fu Mingxu, lost in thought about "finally staying," didn't notice.

"I'll have someone arrange a place for you to stay." It was already a pleasant surprise that he had regained his human form for so long. After feeling the strange sensation in his body, Han Tao knew what was about to happen.

His dim golden dragon tail would reappear in place of his legs, and his body would fall into a coma again.

"Go wait outside first." Cold sweat began to pour from Han Tao's forehead. The shattered dragon soul within him could no longer help him maintain his human form. "We'll talk about the rest when I wake up."

He didn't want to suddenly appear in such a disheveled state, especially now.

His mind was churning, and his clear head was spinning. Han Tao tried his best to maintain his last shred of dignity, gritting his teeth as he said, "It won't look good later, you should go out first."

The wounded sore spot is bleeding again.

Fu Mingxu realized this from the reappearance of the dragon blood scent. After his initial surprise, he quickly calmed down and, disregarding the distance between them, said, "Go lie down on the bed first."

Perhaps knowing what was about to happen, his heart raced a little, and he said, "I've seen your dragon tail before, how can I heal you if you don't look at it?"

He'd never seen how a dragon emerged from its tail before, and it felt kind of exciting.

Of course, he couldn't let Han Tao know what he was thinking, and solemnly said, "You're hiding your illness from the doctor."

The strange sensation within his body was unstoppable. Han Tao recalled the way he struggled to move the dragon tail, and only managed to put his legs up on the bed and lie down. Before he could finish speaking, he said, "Don't touch it..."

Then, a faint golden light flashed, and the long, powerful legs slowly transformed into a dragon tail before his eyes.

Longwei lay quietly on the bed, Han Tao's brows furrowed even more deeply than when he was unconscious.

Fu Mingxu's mouth widened slightly, and his eyes seemed to pop out. After a long while, he finally managed to say, "How amazing."

"Don't touch it?" He blinked, the weak and pitiful look on his face vanishing completely. "That's impossible."

He reached out and poked the dragon's tail a few times. The dragon scales were hard and the dragon flesh was supple. If it weren't for the mottled scales, it would undoubtedly be considered a fine dragon tail.

The pure, pleasant aroma grew stronger, and a strange feeling of hunger followed.

Fu Mingxu glanced around, his gaze sweeping over Han Tao's tightly closed eyes several times. After confirming that he wouldn't wake up, he took out a jade bottle from his storage bag.

While rhythmically pressing the reverse scale with two fingers, he poured out the light green liquid inside with a pained expression, muttering, "You got off easy."

The foul blood that had just seeped from the scales was washed away by the medicinal liquid, and a clear and comfortable feeling was transmitted to Han Tao's mind.

The dragon's divine sense was powerful, so everything he did was clearly seen by Han Tao.

After the filthy blood deep within the dragon scales was cleaned away, the dull dragon scales began to glow with a faint golden light again.

As the foul blood was drained away, bright red dragon blood overflowed, and its purer and richer aroma seemed to transform into a thick fruit wine, causing Fu Mingxu to feel dizzy as if he had drunk too much.

He stared at the dragon blood that had somehow gotten on his fingertips, his hunger raging uncontrollably.

Just moments before, Han Tao was breathing a sigh of relief as the cleaning of his Reverse Scale was finally finished when his consciousness froze as he clearly saw the scene to come, and a storm raged in his sea of consciousness.

In the flickering candlelight, he saw Fu Mingxu put his fingertip, stained with dragon blood, into his mouth, and even stick out a small part of his red tongue to lick it.

A note from the author:

Han Tao (shocked): He...he licked my blood!

Chapter 6

The only sound in the bedroom was the faint burning of the beast candle, and the extremely pure fragrance of dragon blood lingered around Fu Mingxu's nose.

Driven by instinct, he subconsciously stuck out the tip of his tongue and licked his fingertip, the curve of his lips indicating his satisfaction with the taste.

Fu Mingxu squinted slightly, the upturned corners of his eyes revealing a drunken, alluring quality.

The moonlight had faded, and the exposed scales continued to gush forth bright red dragon blood, which looked especially appetizing under the warm orange light of the candlelight.

I'm so hungry...

Fu Mingxu felt his blood gradually heating up. He stared at the dragon blood before him, and a deep-seated desire began to spread within him.

For the first time, Han Tao experienced the trouble of the dragon's divine sense being too powerful. He not only saw Fu Mingxu's every move clearly, but his mind also shifted with his divine sense to that red tail and the smooth fingertips.

What was he trying to do? Watching the fingers getting closer and closer to his audacity, Han Tao strangely felt no anger, only an indescribable heat that swept through his body.

He desperately wanted to close his consciousness like his eyes, but the more he tried, the more his consciousness clung to the unsuspecting Fu Mingxu.

As her pale fingertip drew ever closer to the scale, it seemed as if it would fall at any moment.

Anticipating what he would do after taking the blood, the heaving of the dragon's chest above its tail suddenly became rapid.

Until one of the animal candles crackled just before it burned out, the sound struck Fu Mingxu's heart like a thunderclap in the otherwise silent space.

Startled awake from his dazzling and mesmerizing dream, Fu Mingxu's blush quickly faded, and he looked bewildered after realizing what he had done.

What did he just do?

He actually licked the dragon blood off his fingertips!

His fingertips, which had previously been stained with dragon's blood, felt as if they were on fire, prompting Fu Mingxu to frantically rub them against his wedding dress, as if only in this way could he remove the burning sensation from his fingertips.

As the full moon began to set in the west, Fu Mingxu stood by the bedside, staring intently at the unconscious Han Tao, his expression unusually grave.

From the scent of dragon's blood to his uncontrollable licking of the blood from his fingertips, he was forced to confront an incredibly shameful issue.

For some reason, he had an indescribable yet irresistible desire for the dragon blood within Han Tao's body.

Not only that, after the dragon blood entered his stomach, his dantian was faintly warm, as if a stream of energy was flowing from his dantian to his whole body, and power was reviving within him.

Could dragon blood really help people cultivate?

After calming down, Fu Mingxu's first thought was that dragons were originally mythical beasts of heaven and earth, favored by the world and treasured from head to toe. Because of this, dragons and other creatures associated with the dragon race were highly favored by cultivators.

Of course, this fondness often comes with unspeakable benefits.

However, the energy flow generated within his dantian was too weak, and within a few breaths after he discovered it, it merged into his flesh and blood. He could only be certain that this was not spiritual energy.

He had tried to draw spiritual energy into his body, but each time the energy only circulated within his body briefly before dissipating completely.

It's cleaner than a gust of wind.

If I consume more dragon blood, will I be able to discover what the energy flow is in my dantian?

Thinking of this, Fu Mingxu's gaze unconsciously drifted to Ni Lin.

It was strange, was dragon blood really that sweet? Otherwise, why didn't he feel nauseous after tasting it? Unfortunately, there were no explicit records of the taste of dragon blood on the Cangling Continent for him to refer to.

Fu Mingxu only thought about it for a moment, but once he regained his senses, he couldn't bring himself to actually go to the dragon's tail to take blood and consume it.

"Luckily, no one knows." He was relieved that Han Tao was still unconscious, and said to himself, "I sprinkled so many spiritual herbs on you and you drank two drops of blood, so let's call it even."

Even though he said that, he was still feeling guilty.

He bent down and patted the dragon's tail reassuringly, saying with a sigh, "Don't mind it."

Hantao: ...

After saying this, he turned his head, held his breath, and quickly treated the still-bleeding scale. Afraid that the scent of dragon blood would tempt him, he thought for a moment and tore a long strip of cloth from the hem of his wedding dress, then deftly bandaged the scale.

The scent of dragon blood was mostly masked, so the remaining scent wouldn't have much of an effect on him.

Fu Mingxu breathed a sigh of relief and turned to look, only to be stunned when he saw his masterpiece.

To be honest, the red cloth tied around the top of that dull golden tail was so ugly that it was hard to look at.

Since it was his own handiwork, he glanced around, sprinkled another layer of powder on the dragon's tail, and then pulled the silkworm quilt from the inside of the bed over Han Tao as a remedy.

After doing all this, several more of the burning beast candles went out. The remaining scent of the Blood-Breaking Flower was weak and could produce negligible effects in the short term, so Fu Mingxu didn't bother with it.

He glanced at Han Tao, whose eyes were tightly closed, and feeling warm all over, he began to feel sleepy again.

As dawn approached, Fu Mingxu, who had no cultivation, could not stay awake any longer. After working for most of the night, he finally chose to climb to the inside of the bed to rest.

The remaining beast candle emitted its last light, and even though his body was unconscious, Han Tao's consciousness was far from sleepy. His mind was a jumble of thoughts, and he had long forgotten his original intention to enter a demonic state today.

As the last animal candle went out, the darkness that had descended upon the bedroom began to be dispelled by the rising sunlight.

Fu Mingxu slept soundly until dawn. When he woke up, he looked at the unfamiliar ceiling with a sense of bewilderment. He felt a soft, warm touch on his body, as if he had just woken up from a good night's sleep, just like any other day.

He was stunned for only a few moments before he came to his senses and immediately looked to the outside of the bed, only to find that he was the only person on the bed.

Han Tao must have woken up again.

No wonder the blanket came back onto me.

His mind was still a little foggy after waking up. Once he was fully awake, he sat on the bed, hugged the blanket, and began to sort out everything.

It seems that everything really did change after his rebirth.
