Chapter 109

After the three left, the teasing in Han Huan's eyes disappeared, making her seem like a completely different person from during the day.

"What are you looking at? Do you want to die?" he said with a smile to the demon who tried to approach, looking down at him as if he were looking at a dead man.

His imposing presence was so overwhelming that no one dared to approach him in no time; they could only watch him leisurely ascend the stairs.

A wind picked up outside the inn, whipping up yellow sand and rustling the leaves in the treetops. Only a cluster of flowers and plants at the bottom remained unaffected.

Inside the inn, Fu Mingxu, who had already fallen asleep, had a furrowed brow, as if he sensed unease.

Han Huan, however, sat upright in the room, took out a jade bottle from her bosom and held it tightly, her flickering eyes revealing a hint of nervousness.

He gripped it tightly, with only a small gap peeking out from between his fingers, through which one could vaguely see the character "欢" (joy) on the bottle.

A note from the author:

I'm back! Without further ado, back to daily updates!

Chapter 81

Just in case, Si Yang made three copies of the map showing how to enter the Wu Clan Ruins before setting off.

Inside the inn room, by the dim candlelight, slender, pale fingertips traced across the map, tapping repeatedly, before saying, "To enter the underground passage, we must first find the current location of the birthplace of the demon spirit."

Han Tao remained noncommittal, saying, "The newly appointed Demon Lord should know."

To avoid trouble, neither of them removed their disguises, and Han Tao looked at him while speaking.

Even though the future was uncertain, his heartbeat was steady and strong, a sense of peace he had never felt before.

"Don't look at me." Fu Mingxu was burned by that burning gaze and immediately turned his head away. "There's nothing to see."

He just looked at himself in the Heaven and Earth Mystic Mirror, and his face was indeed quite ordinary.

"It's very beautiful." Han Tao's deep voice rang out, extremely serious.

The wind continued to whistle outside, and Fu Mingxu felt his heart beat faster.

Neither of them had the habit of meditating. He lay down on the bed fully clothed, closed his eyes, and said, "Go to sleep."

"Okay." Han Tao smiled, lay down as instructed, and wrapped her arms around his waist, a golden glint in her eyes.

After waiting for a while, Fu Mingxu didn't notice any movement from him, breathed a sigh of relief, and then slowly fell asleep.

Once his breathing had calmed down, Han Tao opened his eyes, quietly released him, and after carefully setting up the magic array, pushed open the door.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, he noticed that the inn was unusually quiet.

"Come here." Han Huan stood on one side of the corridor. The smile from the daytime had vanished, and her aura had completely changed, becoming unfathomable.

Han Tao's brows were extremely sharp. He sized up the other person and asked in a cold voice, "Who are you?"

Han Huan, by day, is a delicate flower in brothels, but she has nothing to do with him in the dark of night.

Han Huan wasn't surprised that he would discover this. He took two steps forward and said, "Golden Dragon, you are nothing more than food left by the master in the mortal realm for the young master. How dare you have such delusions? Aren't you afraid of being reduced to ashes?"

Han Tao felt a chill run down his spine, but his expression remained unchanged, though the killing intent in his golden eyes was undisguised.

"Of course I'm not afraid."

He raised his hand, not intending to say anything more, but directly made his move.

Han Huan never expected him to be so bold. She was terrified and caught off guard, and was struck by a golden light.

"What? Are you angry? If I die, the master will definitely notice." Meeting those emotionless golden eyes, Han Huan felt a little scared.

Han Tao didn't even blink, and another beam of golden light entered Han Huan's body.

“You will not die.” His voice was extremely cold, and his tall and imposing figure exuded a powerful sense of oppression when he bent over slightly. “You will simply be trapped inside this body.”

Since the celestial bodies have been severed, it means that the passage connecting the upper and lower realms has been closed.

Those from the upper realm cannot descend in their true form; only their primordial spirit can. Although the Heavenly Dao of the Cangling Continent is incomplete, it is not nonexistent. If anyone from the upper realm sneaks in, they will surely be annihilated by the power of the Heavenly Dao.

Han Tao quickly figured out the key point. What worried him more was whether the person who left Fu Mingxu behind would come down, since she had successfully escaped the control of Heaven.

Once he calmed down, he knew that the person must be unable to come down for some reason, otherwise they wouldn't have sent someone else.

"Since you're trapped in this body, you can only use the abilities that this body possesses." Han Tao gave him a meaningful look. "You didn't directly seize the body, presumably because you were afraid of being discovered by the Heavenly Dao. You should also know what this body is for."

Han Huan naturally knew that this was why he felt a chill.

"Let me go!" he said angrily, but when he looked behind Han Tao, he revealed a smile that was very similar to the one he had shown during the day.

"So you like to do things secretly, huh?"

The voice was both sweet and seductive, exuding a kind of unrestrained, gender-neutral allure.

Just as Han Tao realized that Han Huan's true form's soul had awakened, he heard a cold and bewildered voice coming from behind him.

What are you doing here?

In unfamiliar territory, Fu Mingxu was always unfamiliar with everyone. He had just fallen asleep when the image of the cluster of flowers and plants he had seen before appeared in his mind, and then he suddenly woke up from his dream.

The surrounding defensive formations did not protect him. When he woke up and found the room empty, he went out to look for him out of concern.

But to his surprise, he heard Han Huan's voice when he came out.

Han Tao's body trembled slightly. Just as he was about to turn his head to speak, he saw that Fu Mingxu had already tilted his head and looked over in this direction.

"I didn't do anything!" He subconsciously raised his voice, afraid that the other person would misunderstand.

Fu Mingxu didn't think that Han Huan had any feelings for him, and he didn't react much even when he saw the person on the ground making a "tears-filled" expression.

He yawned. "It's the middle of the night, go back to sleep."

After saying that, he turned and walked back.

Han Huan, who had already struck the most vulnerable and alluring pose, was completely unaware of the abnormality within her body. Seeing that Han Tao had already turned and left, she looked at his long arms and wasp waist with longing once again.

"You were the one who asked me out, so how could you just leave like that?" In reality, this was just an illusion created by the soul within him.

Fu Mingxu paused, tilted his head slightly, and asked, "You made the appointment?"

Han Tao felt a chill run down his spine and quickly explained, "No!"

He felt utterly disgusted by the person from the upper realm and secretly pondered whether there was a way to resolve the situation quietly without alerting the upper realm.

The hidden soul within Han Huan breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that it had dodged quickly.

However, seeing the young master enter the room with this shameless golden dragon, he couldn't help but feel heartbroken.

That damned scheming dragon! It's a pity that the young master trusts him so much now, so this method of sowing discord is not working.

Amidst Han Huan's grumbling, he remembered the jade bottle he had previously examined.

The method may be despicable, but as long as it works, that's fine.

He didn't want to stay in this godforsaken place for even a second longer.

My young master, in order to fulfill my request, I must first make you realize that this golden dragon's nature is no different from other dragons. I believe that once you recover from your heartbreak, you will be able to return to the upper realm smoothly. At that time, following my arrangements will be the right path.

Back in his room, Fu Mingxu was wide awake. He stared at Han Tao for a few moments before sitting down. "Tell me," he said, "are you hiding something from me and planning something?"

Han Tao's heart skipped a beat. He sat down opposite him, his gaze deep and serious: "Mingxu, do you want to find your mother?"

"Why are you asking this all of a sudden?" Fu Mingxu looked at him in surprise, then nodded. "Of course, once we find my father, he might know where my mother is."

Whether it's life or death, there has to be an answer.

Han Tao wasn't surprised by his answer, but the weight on his heart grew heavier.

"Don't change the subject." Fu Mingxu poked his shoulder with his finger, reminding him, "You haven't answered my question yet."

Han Tao grasped his fingers, kissed them lightly, and said in a low voice, "It's almost dawn..."

The pretense on his face vanished, and a pair of golden eyes stared intently at him, as if adorned with a layer of dazzling light.

Fu Mingxu was blinded by the radiance and had long forgotten what he wanted to ask. As his body was lifted into the air, he subconsciously grabbed Han Tao's clothes.

"No...it's almost dawn..."

The scorching breath brushed against my ears, sending shivers down my spine.

"Don't worry, I'll manage the time well."

The remaining sounds were swallowed between the mouths, and the excellent defensive formation became the best way to conceal the spring scenery.

After an unknown amount of time, Fu Mingxu, who was adrift in the sea of life, finally caught a glimpse of the dawn.

...

The next day, Si Yang waited in the inn's lobby for two whole hours before the two finally arrived.

Fu Mingxu cleared his throat awkwardly, a faint blush spreading across his jade-like cheeks.

Judging from his appearance, Si Yang knew without saying a word that the two of them had probably been fooling around all night.

"It's good to be young," he sighed inwardly. "Youth is all about having fun."

Han Tao showed no sign of unease. He tried to take Fu Mingxu's hand, but Fu Mingxu dodged him without a trace, causing a hint of frost to appear on Han Tao's brow.

"If we don't come out soon, it'll be dark," Si Yang said mischievously, subtly reminding them that there were still a few demons in the outer hall, "We still have a long way to go."

The demonic energy within the magic stone isn't inexhaustible. Once the magic stone's cover is lost, the three's identities will be exposed, inevitably provoking a massive attack from the demons. Even if the three manage to escape easily, entering the demon realm again next time will likely be much more difficult.

After all, no one in the demon race would believe that a celestial lord and a dragon leader would simultaneously disguise themselves and enter the demon realm.

Fu Mingxu understood what he meant, and the bitterness on his face became even more obvious. He wished he could find a hole to crawl into.

Taking advantage of Si Yang Xianjun's inattention, he turned his head and glared fiercely at the instigator.

After their first encounter, the brilliance in his eyes held a touch of allure, captivating Han Tao with a single glance.

"Ahem." Han Tao knew he had gone a bit too far, but he kept a straight face, so nothing seemed amiss, and he wasn't worried about what others might say or think.

But angering Fu Mingxu is definitely not an option.

"Let's go now." The room fee was already paid last night, so we can just leave now.

Before the three of them even stepped out of the inn, they heard a commotion. A demon's exasperated voice rang out: "The Demon Lord really has quite the grand entourage."

Demon Lord?

He and Han Tao exchanged a glance and saw the surprise in each other's eyes.
