Astrology Hall with Flesh and Blood - Chapter 39
"You're so mean!" Dolly laughed along. "By the way, how did you know about Amy's social event? She wouldn't tell you on her own, would she?"
Her response was a mischievous, devilish grin.
Mi Hua, accompanied by Dolly, confidently entered the "Happy Old Home" karaoke bar, where a deafening cacophony of music immediately enveloped them. "Welcome to Happy Old Home. Do you have a private room reserved?" a waiter asked politely.
Mi Hua remained calm and composed, slowly uttering three words with a firm and resounding tone: "520".
"Room 520, this way please." The elevator operator called out the room number loudly and pressed the button for the 5th floor. That guy Mi Hua, he's definitely incorrigible again, peeking at Amei's phone—alas, alas, poor Amei, from now on I'll pray for you sincerely! Dolly silently closed her eyes.
A pig-like scream came from VIP room 520. It was unclear which tone-deaf man was yelling at the top of his lungs! Mi Hua tidied his hair behind the semi-transparent glass door and then calmly walked in.
There were six people inside, three men and three women. Upon seeing Amei's bewildered face, Mi Hua suddenly rushed over, repeatedly apologizing, "I'm so sorry! I'm late!" She bowed deeply, not only to Amei but to everyone present—especially the men. Her voice carried a hint of impending tears, subtle yet heart-melting. Her pitiful appearance, coupled with the tears welling in her eyes, perfectly portrayed the image of a cute, late girl—a flawless and breathtaking performance!
Faced with this situation, what could Amei do? Besides saying, "Oh, it's good you're here," she was probably helpless. Mi Hua sat down next to Amei, separating her from one of the boys. Then, in a voice not too loud but loud enough for the boy to hear, he whispered in Amei's ear, "It's all my fault for being late. You invited two more girls, didn't you? Now it's five against three, which is really troublesome..." She hesitated, "Maybe we should just go back..."
"It's okay," the boy interjected as expected, "it's more lively with more people!"
"Really?" Mi Hua's eyes widened, looking innocent and adorable. "You're such a good person!"
"My name is Mi Hua, and this is Tang Duoli," she introduced herself.
When she uttered the name "Don Dolly," a strange silence suddenly filled the air, as if an ominous shadow was looming over them, and everyone's expression changed. At that moment, another man spoke, his voice steady and powerful, and his appearance much more mature:
"Miss Mi Hua is right, five against three is indeed a headache."
He held his phone and walked out of the private room. "Call all of them over here!" the third man shouted towards the door. For some reason, his fierce tone made Dolly's heart tremble.
No one sang anymore; everyone was chatting idly. Even so, Dolly felt the gazes of the two men in the room drifting towards her, intentionally or unintentionally. This strange atmosphere... made her uncomfortable. She whispered a few words to Mi Hua, then picked up her bag and left the private room. She intended to go to the restroom for some fresh air, but as soon as she turned a corner, the more mature-looking man flashed past her like a ghost.
“Miss Tang, may I speak with you alone?” He pointed to the empty private room next to him with its door open.
Dolly didn't think too much about it and followed him inside. "May I ask what the two characters of Miss Tang's name are?" he asked abruptly.
Dolly answered him honestly.
“If you don’t mind my intrusion…” the man leaned closer, and Dolly instinctively stepped back, “Would Miss Tang be willing to date me?”
What...? Dolly was stunned.
"To be honest, I fell in love with you at first sight. Will you be my girlfriend?" Although the confession was full of affection, it didn't seem like "love at first sight" at all. His tone was too calm and restrained, making it hard to believe.
“I’m sorry, I refuse.” Dolly made a decisive conclusion and prepared to walk towards the door.
The man slammed the door shut.
"What are you doing!" Dolly protested loudly, only to find the man's face shrouded in a terrifying black aura. "Stay here," the man threatened her, "Don't move!"
Dolly resisted fiercely, but ultimately succumbed to the man's strong hands. "If you listen, you won't get hurt," the man said, pinning her hands behind her back and pushing her down onto the sofa. "I don't want to hurt my purse either."
Damn it! Locked in a dark private room, with no idea what terrible things this man was planning to do to her! However… since subduing her, the man hadn't made any further moves, remaining silent and motionless, carefully listening to the sounds outside. He was waiting for reinforcements! Recalling his words about "five against three being a headache," Dolly suddenly realized what was going on!
So, they want to kidnap me?
Moreover, it was an unexpected incident! If she hadn't rashly given her name, she might still be happily singing with these kidnappers right now!
“Hey, I’m telling you,” she tried to gather her thoughts and asked tentatively, “what do you want from me? I don’t have any money, and I haven’t made enemies with anyone…”
“We know nothing about you, but I know one thing,” the man replied in a low voice, “that is, you can get a lot of money by exchanging ‘Don Dolly’ for it!”
That's it! They must be kidnappers hired by "the other side," and judging from their tone... they don't seem to be assassins, otherwise they would have just killed her here without anyone noticing... That's strange, Dolly thought. "The other side really doesn't mind the trouble. After kidnapping me, they still want to hand me over to professional assassins?"
"White Tiger, you big idiot!" she silently shouted in her heart, "You're not bragging, are you? Professional bodyguard!"

With a loud thud, the man's body slumped to the ground as if he were drunk, and in his place was a face that Dolly both longed to see and dreaded to see. That face had once been silly like a child, and it had also been incredibly handsome, but now, that face was filled with nothing but anxiety.
"Are you alright... are you alright?" In Dolly's blurry vision, the white tiger's calls were as ethereal and uncertain as clouds in the sky. He looked so nervous, it was as if he had become a completely different person...
“Now, you’re finally acting like a bodyguard,” Dolly said with satisfaction.
"Idiot!" Caught off guard, she received a sharp rap on the head from her bodyguard, who scolded her in a matter-of-fact tone, "Why were you keeping your distance from me just now? If I hadn't been quick-witted and agile, hmph..."
"You...you're the idiot!" Dolly retorted defiantly. Being called stupid by a moron—no normal person would swallow that insult! "And you have the nerve to call me that! And what about you? Dressed all flashy, swaggering around chatting up girls—what kind of bodyguard are you?!"
"Flowers... flamboyant?" Baihu stared at his clothes in disbelief. He had somehow managed to make an ordinary black T-shirt look sexy and wild. Perhaps the model's figure was just too eye-catching? "You, you, you!" He was speechless with anger and could only slam his fist on the coffee table. "You only want me to dress like a migrant worker to be happy, right? Jealousy, absolutely a woman's jealousy!"
"Yeah, I'm jealous you're dumber than me, you're all brawn and no brains, la la...!" If it weren't for the slight groan from the man who was knocked down, this stupid verbal battle between the two idiots would probably have continued indefinitely. That groan suddenly reminded them that the crisis wasn't over yet.
Baihu's suggestion was urgent; they had to leave immediately. But what about Mihua and Amei? They couldn't just leave them in the enemy's hands, could they? Baihu pondered for a moment, then untied the man's belt and tied him up tightly again.
“Let him stay here for now, buy him as much time as possible,” he said. “That way, even if you disappear, your two accomplices will think they’ve succeeded and are running away with you. I bet they won’t do anything to your friend.”
“But what if we get caught?” Dolly shook her head repeatedly. “No, we can’t let them take that risk.”
"Are you stupid?!" He grabbed her hand without saying a word, and taking advantage of the empty corridor, quietly slipped out of the private room. "I said no, and I mean it! Trust me!"
"But you don't seem very reliable!" Dolly muttered to herself. She only breathed a sigh of relief after they successfully got into a taxi, and Dolly quickly took out her phone. A hand immediately stopped her.
"What are you doing?" It was Baihu.
"Tell Mi Hua and the others to get out of here!" Dolly replied. "It would be terrible if they were taken hostage..."
"Don't worry!" For some reason, Baihu was quite confident and stubborn on this issue. "I searched the man's entire body; he wasn't carrying any weapons, and he wasn't very skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Besides, from what you're saying, you guys broke through on your own?"
Dolly nodded; her appearance had been an accident from beginning to end.
“Then that’s it.” Baihu leaned back in his seat with ease. “Based on my deduction, they didn’t come specifically to kidnap you; they just happened to run into you, their ‘snakehead.’ Judging by how amateurish they are, they might…” A chilling glint flashed in his eyes, “…someone has put a hefty reward on ‘you’!”
What kind of ginseng? What kind of bounty? It sounds pretty scary. But considering the tone the man gave, Baihu's guess isn't unreasonable... Could it be that someone really offered a high price to kill him? No, maybe capture him alive? Didn't that man also say he "didn't want to hurt Qianbao"? Considering all of the above...
“Someone is looking for ‘Don Dolly’ at a high price, and preferably alive,” White Tiger concluded.
Dolly felt the sky around her suddenly darken, as if countless dark clouds were surging towards her from all directions, trying to crush her... She couldn't help but close her eyes.
"White Tiger, White Tiger," she whispered his name in a voice almost inaudible to others, "Will you always be by my side to protect me?"
Her response was a smile as radiant as the sunshine:
"Of course, I'm your bodyguard."
Dolly nodded in satisfaction. In that brief moment of crisis, she hadn't even had time to feel fear before the bleak prospect of the future... A deep-seated fear of the unknown gripped her, and a wave of exhaustion washed over her. In times like these, the only person she could truly rely on was him, standing beside her. Even though he could be a bit slow at times...
"I will always protect you..." Baihu repeated, then his voice quickly lowered, to the point where even his own heart could not hear it.
"Until the moment the commission period ends..."
It was three in the afternoon, and he left Dolly at home, even though she clung to him pitifully, begging him not to leave her side. Work was important, he told her, and he'd be right back.
Wearing sunglasses, he walked towards the place he already knew. "Blue Bat Bar" was almost empty since it was still early.
He sat down at the bar and ordered a vodka and orange juice. The bartender pushed the drink towards him.
"Donnie will pay for the wine," he said casually.
The waiter suddenly laughed.
“It used to be possible, but now…” he said, “the customers have to pay for it themselves.”
The white tiger widened its eyes in slight surprise: "What do you mean by that?"
"It was still there a few days ago, you're too late, sir," the waiter said with a grin. "'A reward of 10,000 yuan for information leading to Don Dolly, and 100,000 yuan for bringing her directly to us'—what a huge sum! But just last night, the reward was suddenly canceled."
"Cancel?" Baihu pressed.
"Heh, money isn't that easy to earn." The waiter shrugged. "Would the guest like anything else?"
So his guess was right; "someone" really did offer a reward for Don Dolly. One hundred thousand yuan—just as the waiter said, a huge sum! She was just an ordinary girl; even if she were sold from head to toe, she wouldn't be worth ten thousand yuan. Who on earth would be willing to spend so much money to find her?
Is there a reason for suddenly canceling the bounty? Has "they" already given up?
No, you should think of it the other way around. The white tiger felt a chill slowly rising from the soles of its feet.
They have already obtained all the information about "Tang Duoli"...
Volume 3: The Sheep's Song from Hell Records (Part 8)
Almost simultaneously, a worried Donnie received a call from Mi Hua. "What's wrong with you? You went to the bathroom and it took you so long?" Mi Hua complained, though it sounded like nothing had happened on her end.
Dolly had no choice but to lie and say that she suddenly felt unwell and was going home to rest. "Are you... still playing?" she asked cautiously.
"Don't even mention it!" Mi Hua sighed heavily, her resentment palpable even through the phone. "I don't know where Amei found these jerks. Not long after you left, they all disappeared one after another! They didn't even settle their bills, leaving us girls to pay out of our own pockets! Honestly, I shouldn't have joined in this mess!"
Dolly really shouldn't have joined in the fun... Her mind was a complete mess.
"...It's settled then! I'm coming right away!" Two beeps later, Mi Hua's voice disappeared into the receiver. This guy, always so energetic and self-willed, it's really a bit overwhelming. But it's alright, Dolly idly gazed at the leisurely blue sky and white clouds outside the window. Having someone with her meant she wouldn't have to worry so much...
As it turned out, her idea was wishful thinking. Mi Hua did indeed arrive at her residence quickly, but not alone. She and Bai Hu chatted and laughed like long-lost friends, their cheerful laughter carrying from the gatehouse downstairs all the way to Dolly's ears.
"Huh, you guys...?" Dolly was a little surprised.
Mi Hua nudged her arm and said mysteriously, "Didn't you say you didn't know him? Hmm?"
“Don’t be so polite, Mi Hua,” Bai Hu said, acting as if he were the head of the household. “Treat this place like your own home.”
"Hey, isn't this my home?" Before Dolly could even get angry, Mi Hua affectionately hugged her head again:
"I really didn't realize. You seem so honest, yet you're living with a guy! And," she gazed at his retreating figure with lust, "he's incredibly handsome! How did you manage to hook up with him? Tell me!"
What kind of "bubble" is that? It sounds awful! Besides, there's no such thing as living together. He was clearly a "birthday present"! Dolly felt a lump in her throat.
Baihujing took a cup of yogurt from the refrigerator and placed it in front of Mihua. "You must be thirsty after walking such a long way, right?" He smiled so gently.
"Thank you~ You're such a kind person." Mi Hua's eyes narrowed into two crescent moons, looking incredibly cute. "If you hadn't caught me in time, I don't know what would have happened to me!"
Here it comes again, Mi Hua's ultimate weapon: the "pretty girl fainting" move. Once this technique is used, no man in the world dares to resist. That big idiot Bai Hu! She wanted to kick him under the table; he didn't even realize he was being set up and hit on!
Sigh, boys really do like cute and clever girls, because they can chat with them! Dolly dejectedly went into the kitchen, not expecting that White Tiger would quietly follow her.
“Don’t stand recklessly by the window…” He stood in front of her, smiling at her nonchalantly, “If a stray bullet flies in, I’ll shield it with my body.”
"No!" After a moment of stunned silence, Dolly answered decisively, "What if you die and there are still stray bullets?"
"How greedy you are!" the White Tiger chuckled softly. "Why don't you burn some paper money for me and summon me back from the underworld?"
“I don’t care.” Dolly put her hands on her hips, staring into his beautiful eyes. “You’re my bodyguard, and until you guarantee my safety…” She jabbed her slender fingers hard into the white tiger’s chest. “You’re not allowed to leave me to die! That’s an order!”
A wicked smile appeared on Baihu's thin lips. "Yes, Master," he replied.
The three of them ate a simple home-cooked meal, and afterwards ordered Dolly's birthday cake for dessert. They turned off the fluorescent lights and sang and danced in the dim candlelight. Mi Hua drank quite a bit of beer with Bai Hu, watching as rosy clouds rose on her cheeks, her eyes brimming with spring-like allure, making her even more beautiful and captivating. She threw Bai Hu flirtatious glances, but Dolly pretended not to see them, focusing only on devouring her birthday cake. And Bai Hu? He didn't seem to respond much, whether it was obliviousness or feigned ignorance, even though Mi Hua tried her best, she couldn't conquer any of his defenses.
The clock quickly ticked towards ten o'clock, and no matter how unwilling Mi Hua was, it was time to go home and sleep. She glanced at Bai Hu with a mixture of reproach and sorrow, a look that even Dolly couldn't bear to look at.
"White Tiger, you take Mi Hua to the station," she said.
"No way." Baihu refused without even thinking. "This afternoon, I swore to myself that I would never leave your side again."
That's... way too cheesy! Doesn't he even realize how cheesy that is? Mi Hua's face turned deathly pale, and Dolly couldn't bear to look at her anymore. For Mi Hua, who always prided herself on her beauty and charm, to have her crush so blatantly confess her feelings to someone else (even though that wasn't the real meaning) was incredibly cruel!
