Chapter 59

Chapter 55 of "The Flower Smile": True Qi Extends Life

Yi Chunjun walked ahead of Xiaoyuan with a stern face and without saying a word, holding her hand tightly and refusing to let go. She suppressed a laugh and tried to pull her hand away several times, but he finally couldn't help but stop, turn around, and glare at her.

Xiao Yuan deliberately looked at him with a sly expression, "It wouldn't be good if Junwu saw this."

"Junwu, Junwu! How dare you call me that!" He snapped. Xiaoyuan looked at him and realized that even when he was angry, the corners of his mouth would slightly curl up, which was kind of cute... although the cold light in his eyes was terrifying. Originally, she thought he was poison wrapped in honey, but now... she tried hard to hold back her laughter, becoming a firecracker wrapped in honey. When he exploded, she felt sweet.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He looked deeply into her eyes. What was this little thing plotting?

“I suddenly feel…” She looked back into his eyes; they were truly beautiful, with long, curled eyelashes. No wonder everyone believed him when he said he liked men; he was even more exquisite and beautiful than a woman. “Marrying Junwu and having this ambiguous relationship with you isn’t so bad,” she smiled faintly.

He gave her a murderous look again, glaring at her fiercely.

She wanted to laugh again, but then a wave of heartache washed over her, her vision went black, and she swayed slightly.

"What's wrong?" His expression changed.

She pressed hard against her chest; she had never felt such pain since her injury. Could it really be a case of extreme joy turning into sorrow? Her heart ached more and more with each wave of pain, and cold sweat and tears streamed down her face.

"Xiao Yuan! Xiao Yuan!" Yi Chunjun's face was ashen as he held her tightly. "Hang in there, I'll help you." He quickly scooped her up and carried her to a secluded corner. The shock caused her to vomit large amounts of blood. She vomited so fast that blood even flowed from her nose. She was terrified. Was she going to die? No… she didn't want to die! Especially not now!

"Don't cry, don't be afraid..." Yi Chunjun comforted anxiously.

She was crying? Xiao Yuan was shocked to find herself sobbing in his arms. She wasn't usually this prone to crying. Had falling in love with him made her more vulnerable?

Yi Chunjun laid her down with her back to him. Xiaoyuan felt a surge of sharp internal energy rushing into her from the back of her heart, effectively easing her heartache. But the internal energy didn't stop. No! She moved slightly; if he received such a rapid and massive influx of true energy into her, he would get injured too!

"No...that's enough, I'm all better, Yi Chunjun!"

He ignored it, and his true energy surged in quickly and in large quantities.

She panicked and cried out, "Stop!" She lunged forward and forced him to withdraw his inner energy.

She disregarded her disheveled state, quickly sat up, and turned around to examine him. Thankfully, apart from being a little pale, he was perfectly normal!

"What are you doing!" she cried, pounding her fist on his chest in distress, tears streaming down her face. "You'll get hurt!"

He chuckled softly and took her small hand in his. "Now that you can hit people... it won't hurt anymore, right?"

She nodded vigorously, tears streaming down her face. He lowered his eyes and gently wiped the blood from her lips and chin with his sleeve. "It's good that it doesn't hurt anymore." His gentle tone made her tears fall even faster.

One drop, two drops... warm liquid fell onto her forehead, and she touched it curiously—it was blood! She looked up in panic, and the blood was flowing from his nose! She cried out and tried to cover it with her hand, but he was still injured.

"It's alright." He pulled her hand away, tilted his head back, and said, "I'll be fine after a short while."

She held back her tears and nodded.

Seeing his slightly furrowed brows as he meditated, and the blood on his clothes... she felt a pang of heartache.

He slowly opened his eyes, glaring at her with a mixture of love and resentment: "Why are you crying again? He's not your Junwu, you don't need to care so much." He was being sarcastic again!

She was torn between love and hate! All she could do was rush over and hug his neck tightly, crying, "Don't do this again! Don't get hurt again!"

He let her hug him without saying a word.

"If I die, you'll still avenge me..." She nuzzled his shoulder like a cat. "Didn't you say you'd tear Xiao Juyuan to shreds for me..."

She was telling the truth!

Although he lied to her, was unfathomable, and had many secrets... she still believed him! She knew that if that day ever came, he would not let her die in vain.

He gripped her shoulders tightly, straightening her body, his eyes blazing with fury. "You're not allowed to die! I won't let you die either! Even if it takes all my inner strength, I won't let you die!"

She stared at him, stunned and shocked.

He felt a little awkward under her gaze, raised an eyebrow and smiled, "The condition is to stay away from Pei Junwu!"

She looked at him for a moment, smiled slightly, nestled into his arms, and nodded. "Then you mustn't do that again..."

He pulled her closer around the waist and said with a half-smile, "It's better to be physically hurt than to be heartbroken for you."

A thought crossed her mind: From now on... I'll never deliberately upset him again.

Chapter 56 of "The Smiling Flower": Treating People Like Family

Pei Junwu sat in his chair and ate his meal silently. He was now the only one left at the large dining table.

Juyuan… His heart ached. Why did she do this? Was it because she discovered he had fallen in love with Xiaoyuan? Impossible! If that were the only reason, she wouldn't have been so ruthless. Was she unwilling to share the Xiao family's treasure with those people?

He had sensed she was hiding something for a long time. But...

It seems that none of them want to tell him the secret!

What if Juyuan orchestrated all of this conspiracy? What should he do? She became an indirect murderer of his father and uncle… He put down his chopsticks, truly distraught. Although they weren't exactly in love, they had still harbored feelings for each other for ten years, and he had always… still wanted to marry her.

He could only hope... it wasn't her! He didn't want to think about it too deeply. He'd just have to take it one step at a time. This was the first time he'd felt so pessimistic, because no matter the outcome, it would be painful for him! It would be loss! He didn't dare think about it anymore. Would he end up all alone?

He didn't want to? This matter haunted him like a nightmare! If it wasn't Kikuyuan, what would he do? Marry her? His heart—even knowing that the smile on that little thing's face wasn't because of him, he still fell for her! Whether Kikuyuan was the murderer or not, his heart was already lost forever!

Just as he was thinking of her, Yi Chunjun carried her in. The beautiful smile on her face stung his eyes, but strangely, it hurt his heart even more.

He watched indifferently, then suddenly his eyes sharpened—blood! They were both covered in blood! Both of them were pale, yet smiling. His heart ached again. Did they share a secret? Was it from when she disappeared? Was it Yi Chunjun who found her? Then why was it Hang Yisu who brought her back?
