Heaven is the shore of mortal dust - Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Because all the empty rooms in the mansion had been used by those couples today, and the room supposedly reserved for her was Li Hongyi's. Chen Chang told her to squeeze in with him, and he would prepare a better room for her tomorrow. But... squeeze in with him? Thinking about how he had just threatened to spank her, forget it! As for Li Hongyi! That was even more unacceptable. He would have to pull down her pants, and who knew if he would get up in the middle of the night... It seemed that only he was safe. Wei Zijun looked at Li Tianqi lying beside her; at least he wouldn't pull down her pants. But her master, wouldn't he be worried?

"Sigh!" Wei Zijun sighed.

"Is something on your mind, Fourth Brother?" Li Tianqi asked softly.

"I'm worried about my master. I'm worried that he'll be unable to sleep because he's thinking about me, and I'm worried about what he'll do while he waits for me."

"Fourth brother, you are so kind!" After a moment of silence, he asked, "What is your master's name?"

"I...I won't tell you."

Li Tianqi chuckled to himself; his fourth brother was truly his source of joy.

"Stop shaking like that, you're going to break the bed!" Wei Zijun scolded softly.

"Hahahaha..." Li Tianqi finally couldn't help but burst into laughter, no longer caring about the late hour or the quiet of the night. If he didn't laugh, he would suffocate.

The two guards on night watch outside the door were just dozing off when they were jolted awake by the laughter.

"It's been a long time since I've seen Your Highness so happy, laughing so loudly in the middle of the night."

"Yeah, a few grown men laughed all night, as happy as children. That pretty boy is quite good at sweet-talking people."

"Could it be His Highness's..." she said, gesturing towards the inside.

"Shh—don't talk nonsense, His Highness doesn't have that kind of hobby."

Silence returned outside the door. The faint Milky Way floated across the sky like a thin veil, and a wisp of cloud quietly climbed onto the moon's face, creating an indescribably enchanting scene.

The valley in the early morning is like a beautiful painting. The early birds chirp and sing, blending with the babbling brook to create a wonderful melody.

Wei Zijun knelt before her master, looking at his red eyes from not having slept all night, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Were you in the general's mansion all day yesterday?" Juyun Sou asked.

"yes."

"No wonder we searched for you all night without finding you. We thought something had happened to you," Juyun Sou sighed.

Overwhelmed by guilt and sadness, Wei Zijun's tears fell even harder. "Master, I'm sorry, I didn't want you to worry."

Ju Yunsou smiled and patted her head: "It's good that you're alright. I didn't expect that you would get to know so many high-ranking officials and dignitaries after only leaving the valley a few times. I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse." But no matter what, he was proud of his disciple.

"Go see Dieyun. He was almost crying. Now that he sees you're back, he's probably hiding somewhere sulking again. Sigh! This child, he's been throwing tantrums lately."

As the clouds and mist gradually dissipated, golden rays shone into the verdant valley, illuminating the bamboo grove and dappling the newly sprouted bamboo shoots through the gaps in the bamboo leaves.

"Hmph! Serves you right for being frivolous and dissolute!" Dieyun tore off handfuls of bamboo leaves, leaving a thick layer on the ground.

"Sleeping in another man's house! How licentious!" A tender bamboo shoot at his feet suffered the consequences.

Just as I was breathing on the tender bamboo shoots at my feet, a familiar figure flashed by in the distance.

My heart started pounding.

"Dieyun!" the newcomer called out loudly.

Upon hearing the call, Dieyun turned her back to the person who had called her.

In a moment, the intruder had already closed in on them.

"Dieyun, are you angry?" Wei Zijun asked softly.

Ignoring Dieyun, he plopped down against the bamboo stalk.

Looking at the bamboo leaves and rotten bamboo shoots scattered on the ground, Wei Zijun shook her head and sat down behind Dieyun.

"Oh dear, Dieyun, there's a big green worm behind you! Let me get it down for you!" Wei Zijun exclaimed loudly, pretending to nudge Dieyun's neck as if she were picking up a worm.

Dieyun felt a tingling sensation on the back of his neck that spread throughout his body. The tingling and itchy feeling was both novel and stimulating, making him want to linger on the finger for a little longer.

"Hey? What a big flower here! This flower can even fly! Look! It's a cloud!" he exclaimed, feigning surprise.

Dieyun snorted but didn't turn around. Hmph! Flowery! I'm afraid her heart is too fickle!

"Oh my, Dieyun, I never knew Dieyun was so handsome! How come I never noticed before?" Wei Zijun leaned close to Dieyun's face and looked at him with feigned surprise.

“You… are frivolous!” Dieyun finally spoke.

"Die Yun is so beautiful!" Wei Zijun continued to stare at Die Yun, looking like a pervert.

"You...you're so indecent!" Although he tried to avoid looking at that face, the closeness was enough for him to feel the temperature of that face, and the orchid-like breath was blowing on his cheek, making his face instantly burn.

"Are you... so frivolous with everyone?" Dieyun asked, suppressing her anger.

"Of course not. I only said that to Dieyun." Wei Zijun was somewhat puzzled. Was she frivolous?

"From now on...you...can't sleep at other people's houses!"

"It won't happen again. If I hadn't been drunk, I would have come back long ago," Wei Zijun promised breathlessly.

"And you absolutely mustn't drink with others! You know... how... how dangerous it is to be drunk." Dieyun didn't know how to say it, but she would understand.

"Yes, Master, I will not do it again." Wei Zijun nudged Dieyun with his shoulder and winked.
