Capítulo 19

...

Lu Shi, who accidentally revealed the bug that allowed him to clear the game, had no idea what kind of consequences his words would have in the future.

He was just saying it offhand; he would only do that if his life was hanging by a thread.

After all, whether you can maintain your sanity and complete the game after turning into a monster is a question.

"It seems I have completely figured out the ins and outs of this place." Lu Shi walked out of the laboratory.

"Isn't this going too smoothly?" He frowned, feeling that this dungeon wasn't particularly difficult.

Clearly, Lu Shi completely overlooked the fact that if it weren't for his Heavenly Demon Saint Body, he would already be dead on the second floor.

"Never mind," Lu Shi said, no longer worrying. "Let's find Lao He first."

There are three rooms on the third floor: the laboratory, the interrogation room (the small dark room), and Dr. Liu's dormitory.

Upon opening the dormitory door, Lu Shi encountered no attack.

The room was empty. Lu Shi searched around but still found nothing.

Time was still quietly slipping away overhead, and even Lu Shi was starting to get anxious.

The small dark room yielded still nothing.

He returned to the lab, his gaze finally settling on the computer.

As if sensing Lu Shi's gaze, the original standby screen disappeared, replaced by a blue screen.

Even though no one was typing, the sound of keyboard tapping was heard.

Then a line of text appeared on the blue screen: "Hello, prisoner Lu Shi."

A note from the author:

Thank you so much for your support! I will continue to work hard!

Chapter 19

☪ True Plague Prison

"How could it be a computer?"

In the Silver Hall, the densely packed audience members, like tiny black dots, all shared the same confusion.

Ordinary players couldn't help but turn their attention to those top players, hoping to get answers from them.

Red Spider realized that many people were watching her, but she couldn't quite figure out what was going on.

"Isn't it obvious?"

A giant bubble gum covered the boy's entire face, and his clear yet slightly childish voice made people suspicious.

However, the viewers, who were preoccupied with the problem, instinctively looked at the unfamiliar boy.

A baseball cap with a dinosaur pattern, a fair face that was partially obscured by bubbles, and a pair of sneakers that glowed when stepped on.

His red, blue, and green shorts and short-sleeved shirt made him look like a little guest who had just finished get off work on a children's channel.

"Who are you?" The man in black sneered. He disliked this kid who interrupted the chairman.

Red Spider, however, didn't seem to care. She said softly, "Let him speak."

The boy gave a haughty snort before saying, "This computer provides too much information. It's like giving you a pillow the moment you want to sleep."

"It recorded all of Dr. Liu's crimes and then showed them to the anchor."

"Don't you think its behavior is just like a victim revealing everything they know in order to find someone to avenge them?"

"So who is the only victim who hasn't shown up? Isn't the answer obvious? It's Warden He."

"Using the process of elimination, the only intelligent-looking item in this room is this computer, isn't it?"

After the boy finished explaining, he immediately rewarded Lu Shi with a mahogany coffin, which finally made Lu Shi's popularity surpass the former and take the top spot in the Silver Hall.

...

Lu Shi in the instance also received a system notification.

This time, the system didn't grit its teeth; instead, it was much calmer. Lu Shi guessed that the system had probably gotten used to his various operations.

"Congratulations, streamer! Your popularity has reached the top of the Silver Hall! When the streamer clears the dungeon, you will receive a mysterious gift!"

"Congratulations to the streamer for completing the achievement [The Young Generation is Formidable] (reaching the top of the Silver Hall in the first three dungeons). The achievement reward will be distributed after the streamer clears the dungeon."

Lu Shi was still very happy, even though all the rewards required him to clear the dungeon. But Lu Shi believed in himself and thought that clearing the dungeon should be easy for him.

Lu Shi quickly snapped out of his reverie and looked at the computer in front of him.

"Are you Warden He?" Lu Shi didn't think there was anything scary about a computer typing on its own, since he had never even seen a computer before!

The computer first deleted the previous line of text, then typed:

Yes, I'm so glad to see you again.

I will never forget you. You were a smart person, but you went astray.

Lu Shi stared at the two lines of text, his eyes darting around before he asked, "Were you killed by Dr. Liu?"

computer:

That was a nightmare.

Perhaps I could replay what happened back then for you.

The blue screen was gradually replaced by a video.

This angle looks like it was taken from a high altitude.

Dr. Liu sat next to a tall, middle-aged man with a thick beard.

This middle-aged man exuded a powerful aura of authority, and without any introduction, Lu Shi guessed his identity.

This is Warden He.

“We have to talk.” Old He looked at Dr. Liu with a serious expression, seemingly somewhat disappointed with the scientist he had advocated for bringing in.

"You still came to see me after all." Dr. Liu sat up straight and met Old He's gaze without any fear.

It seems that both of them had rehearsed this conversation in their minds many times.

"When did you find out?" Dr. Liu's personality made him dislike being dominated in negotiations, so he decided to take the initiative: "The flesh of those prisoners, and our changes."

“It’s actually a coincidence. I trust you a lot, Liu.” Old He stood up and shook his head in disappointment. “Unfortunately, your cooking skills are indeed not very good. Once, when I was eating meat, I accidentally ate a piece of fingernail that hadn’t been cleaned off. I realized that it was a human fingernail.”

Lu Shi suddenly realized that he was no longer simply staring at the computer screen, but had entered the video.

He was watching this event, which had already happened, from the perspective of an outsider.

Dr. Liu was somewhat surprised: "I see, I'm indeed not good at cooking. So what did you make?"

“My first thought was to give up meat.” Old He remained calm, even though he already knew what Dr. Liu had done: “Every time I ate with you, I would secretly spit out the meat when you weren’t looking. This method was very effective. By the end of the day, I felt like I had bipolar disorder, wanting to kill someone and then commit suicide.”

"You really have an experimental spirit." Dr. Liu walked up to Lao He, the distance between them less than a fist's width.

From Lu Shi's perspective, Dr. Liu's actions were very dangerous.

If it were him, and someone suddenly got that close, the first thing he would do would be to drive them away.

“There’s no other way,” Old He could even smell Dr. Liu’s breath. It was the stench of rotting flesh. “I can’t go against my conscience and eat them.”

“Oh,” Dr. Liu chuckled sarcastically, then sat back down. “Our Holy Mother Mary, would you rather go mad than eat that meat?”

“Of course.” Old He suddenly moved.

As someone who rose through the ranks from prison guard to warden, he was quite skilled.

He subdued Dr. Liu almost instantly, pressing his arm against Dr. Liu's throat, rendering Dr. Liu unable to move.

“If I keep using my strength, I can break your fragile neck,” Old He said coldly.

"Of course, I believe you can do it." Dr. Liu still had a smile on his lips. Lu Shi even went to his side to check on him; this man wasn't just putting on a brave face.

Does he have some backup plan?

"So what do you need me to do for you to let me go?" Dr. Liu asked, feigning grievance.

"Heh," a ruthless glint flashed in Old He's eyes: "From today onwards, you're no longer allowed to feed us...human flesh!"

Dr. Liu scoffed, "Of course it's your decision. But Warden, if we don't eat this meat, what are we supposed to eat? Or are you planning to let us starve to death?"

Old He was taken aback, but stubbornly said, "That's not something I need to consider! Anyway, we can't eat human flesh!"

“Of course, of course,” Dr. Liu continued sarcastically, “A high-ranking leader like you only needs to give orders. Let’s begin our fasting program today!”

Upon hearing this, Lu Shi suddenly laughed and turned to the audience, saying:

"Don't be misled, everyone. In the cultivation world, fasting can only be done after one has formed the Golden Core. Moreover, a cultivator like myself would not fast even if I no longer need to eat. Who doesn't have a appetite?"

The audience was speechless. This streamer was great in every way, except for his unusually stubborn insistence on the Demon Lord persona.

...

Suddenly, a third prison guard, Liu Wenbin, burst in.

"Liu Wenbin, what brings you here!" Old He frowned when he saw his subordinates.

Lu Shi still remembered Wang Qiang's diary, who was very close to Dr. Liu.

"I... Warden He, what are you doing!" Liu Wenbin's eyes darted around, and he had already lined up.

"Do you know what kind of meat he's feeding you?" Old He said angrily. "He's planning to kill you! I'm just helping you!"

“I know,” Liu Wenbin said calmly. “Warden, you’re too old-fashioned. If it weren’t for the doctor, we would all be dead by now. You’re not planning to stop us from eating that meat, are you?”

"That's human flesh! Are you crazy, Liu Wenbin!" Old He looked at the young man in disbelief.

Just a few months ago, he was someone who would blush when talking to girls!

“They should have been death row inmates, that’s what you said. We’re just avenging the victims.”

Liu Wenbin stopped wasting words and acted much more ruthlessly than Lao He, directly pointing the gun at Lao He's calf.

Soon, Lao He was locked in an iron cage, a thicker and longer one at that.

Every day at mealtime, Dr. Liu would deliberately bring his bowl to the iron cage and say, "Old He, this meat smells really good. Want to try a bite?"
