Demonio del infierno - Capítulo 9

Capítulo 9

"Hehehehe..."

What happened next was even more mind-numbing: the obese middle-aged woman, who should have been shot through the forehead and was supposed to be dead, suddenly laughed. In this situation, the sound was so terrifying and unreal that many people wondered if it was all a nightmare.

However, things spiraled out of control. The middle-aged woman's "corpse" stood up in full view of everyone, her eyeballs almost bulging out of their sockets, and the twitching fat on her face looked as if a piece of it might fall off at any moment. The small hole pierced by the bullet made the atmosphere even more eerie.

The fat began to shrink slowly, turning from a pale white to a dark brown. Overall, it looked like a malnourished refugee, emaciated as a skeleton, except that two more arms extended from its waist. All four hands were thin and long, with sharp nails that gleamed with a cold white light. But the most terrifying thing was its head, which had unexpectedly turned into a triangle, like a fox, with two rows of sharp, beast-like teeth protruding. Especially chilling were its eyes, which gleamed with a blood-red light.

“A…monster…” In fact, only Officer An could speak among the police officers; the others seemed unable to breathe, standing there with their mouths wide open in terror.

Qinglin Anxue's face remained expressionless as she coldly stared at the monster before her, showing no fear.

"Hehehe, I didn't expect there to be a psychic here. I was planning to have some fun..." The human language coming from the monster's mouth felt so strange. As it spoke, it suddenly sprang up and easily jumped onto a wall more than two meters high. "If you want to destroy me, then follow me..." Before the last word faded, it jumped onto the roof next to it and ran off into the distance.

Almost simultaneously, Qing Lin Anxue ripped off her raincoat, crouched low, and raced after the vanished monster at superhuman speed. Only a group of stunned police officers remained, their minds still oscillating between illusion and reality.

The rain continued to fall, seemingly without end. The streets were mostly deserted, save for the occasional passing vehicle splashing water. Suddenly, a scene jarringly out of place appeared: a long-haired girl was running at high speed down the street, completely naked and soaked to the bone.

Even at this moment, Qing Lin Anxue maintained a calm expression. Her mind was highly focused; because the city was filled with towering buildings, it was impossible to track a target by sight alone, so she could only rely on demonic energy to determine the monster's location. The monster seemed unwilling to flee, and the two maintained a certain distance until the cold-blooded girl noticed the monster had stopped ahead…

This is an abandoned factory compound, surrounded by dilapidated machinery and equipment. In the middle is an open space where the monster stands waiting for the long-haired girl to arrive.

Finally, Qinglin Anxue appeared.

The girl's face seemed even colder than before. She walked slowly, her emotionless eyes fixed on the motionless monster.

The demon gradually sensed the unusual spiritual power emanating from the girl, and as that power intensified, the surrounding temperature dropped. Soon, the long-haired girl's body was shrouded in a thin, pale mist.

"Spiritual freezing energy?" A hint of surprise flashed in the monster's voice, then its red-glowing eyes lit up with excitement. "Hehehe, I've really struck gold today! What will your brain taste like? It must be delicious. Hehehe..."

Qing Lin Anxue stopped in her tracks, still silent. The falling raindrops could no longer penetrate the thin mist around her body, instead gathering into dozens of puddles. These puddles gradually condensed, eventually becoming sharp icicles, eerily suspended in mid-air.

The monster let out a low roar, unleashing a powerful aura as it charged toward Qinglin Anxue at a speed too fast for the naked eye to follow. Wherever it passed, water splashed and rose and fell.

Dozens of bright white spikes shot out from around Qing Lin Anxue's body, tracing streaks as they met the onrushing monster. The monster didn't slow down; instead, as it ran, its four claws lashed out repeatedly in front of it, creating invisible, sizzling air blades that collided with the ice spikes, sending shards flying. However, a few ice spikes still managed to break through the air blades and reach the monster. The monster opened its jaws wide and roared, shattering the ice spikes.

The monster darted to within a meter of Qing Lin Anxue at incredible speed, almost touching her body, when it felt a strong rebound. Its feet slammed into the ground again, its two arms protecting its face, while its other two sharp claws slashed across its front. With a "crash," the sound of ice shattering rang out, and the monster cleared away all obstacles.

Qing Lin Anxue was slightly surprised to see that even the powerful ice wall she had set up beforehand couldn't stop the ferocious monster. Just as the monster's claws were about to cover her face, she flicked her glossy black hair and dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the closest claw. As the monster tried to deliver another blow, the girl lightly bent her knees and leaped backward, escaping the attack.

Although she had temporarily escaped the monster's fierce attack, the cold-blooded girl still had beads of sweat on her forehead, a rare occurrence for her.

The monster turned around, but didn't attack immediately. A sinister laugh escaped its lips: "Not bad, but... don't lump me in with those lowly monsters. I am..."

"Blood Union!!" The monster opened its maw, revealing its gleaming white teeth. Its four long arms, crossed in front of its chest, suddenly spread outwards. Qing Lin Anxue felt a chilling gust of wind emanate from Blood Union, causing her to involuntarily take two steps back. Even the rain within this area was temporarily dispersed.

Just as she regained her footing, another cylindrical shockwave shot straight towards her. Qing Lin Anxue leaped to the side, but failed to completely avoid it. The shockwave grazed her to the side, and she was then slammed into the dilapidated machinery behind her before sliding down.

Reply [24]: Blood had spilled from the corner of Qing Lin Anxue's mouth, but she still managed to stand up again. She barely managed to concentrate her spiritual power, and the rainwater that had fallen on Xue He's body began to freeze and solidify. Soon, it was covered by a transparent layer of ice, shining with a crystal-clear light.

With a "crack," the ice covering Xuehe's entire body shattered in no time. It moved slowly toward the girl as if facing defenseless prey, occasionally letting out a harsh, cold laugh.

Qing Lin Anxue did not give up and wait to die. She focused her mind again and shot several ice spikes from behind Xue He toward the target. Xue He seemed unaware. Just as the ice spikes were about to reach the back of its head, it suddenly bent down, and the ice spikes passed over its head and attacked the girl in the opposite direction.

Due to the severe injury to her body, Qinglin Anxue was unable to dodge in time.

"Is it going to end..." This thought flashed through the cold girl's mind. Perhaps she had gotten used to it, but no despair was visible on her face.

At that critical moment when life and death were decided, a sound of air being torn apart was heard, and several wisps of wind descended from the sky and struck the ice spikes, averting the crisis.

Both Qing Lin Anxue and Xue He looked up in surprise. They saw a strange white bird, about the size of an eagle, flapping its wings and hovering in the air, its sharp eyes fixed on the monster.

"To actually hurt my cute junior like this, you're really something else..."

As the voice rang out, a hazy figure gradually became clear at the end of the rain. He was wearing a light gray school uniform that Qing Lin Anxue was very familiar with, which was completely soaked and made him look quite disheveled, but the corners of his mouth were still slightly upturned, forming a faint smile.

“Senior Yuan…” Qing Lin Anxue stared blankly at the boy who had walked up to her.

"Junior Qinglin, it's very dangerous to deal with this kind of monster alone..."

"...I'm sorry." After uttering these three words in a daze, Qinglin Anxue felt a sense of weakness spread throughout her body, and the rain seemed to grow colder.

Yuan Peilin smiled and nodded, then immediately turned and walked towards Xuehe. His expression returned to seriousness and composure as he stepped into the puddles, making crisp sounds. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the murky sky, a momentary flash before disappearing again.

"Hehehe, another one. So today's a feast..." Bloodhound's eyes widened, bright red veins spreading across its eyeballs like vines. It charged forward a few steps, its withered body shooting out like a bullet, crashing into the approaching boy.

Yuan Peilin concentrated his spiritual power in front of him, forming a thick protective wall. Xue He crashed into it, generating a strong recoil that dragged the boy's body backward. The ferocious monster, however, was unwilling to be thwarted. With a roar, a powerful gust of wind slammed into the protective wall, finally breaking down the monster's defenses.

However, Yuan Peilin didn't give its opponent another chance to attack. It leaped into the air and kicked Xuehe in the chest. Xuehe groaned and flew backward.

The monster barely managed to adjust its body in mid-air, and as soon as it landed, the boy was already in front of it. Spiritual energy gathered in its hand blade, and it slashed towards the opponent's neck with lightning speed. However, its legs, covered in blood and muscles, inexplicably bent and bounced, and its body leaped over Harabe Rin's head like a spring.

Yuan Peilin's powerful attack missed, causing him to be startled. Suddenly sensing something amiss behind him, he immediately dodged to the side, but a sharp pain shot through his arm, followed by the sight of his own blood splattering in the rain. Without hesitation, he retreated swiftly to avoid another attack from the monster.

"Hehehe..." Bloodhound raised a sharp claw, greedily licking the blood that was still dripping down its head. "Not bad..."

A hint of worry flashed in Qing Lin Anxue's eyes as she rested quietly nearby, and she took a small step forward. Just then, she heard the sound of wings flapping in the air. She turned around and saw that the large white bird from before had landed on the dilapidated machinery.

"Don't worry about the Qinglin family's girl. Although that boy isn't very hardworking, this type of monster won't do anything to him..." Ya said casually, shaking off the rain.

Qing Lin Anxue wasn't surprised that the big bird could speak human language; instead, she turned her attention back to her senior.

Yuan Peilin ignored his injured arm and focused solely on increasing his spiritual power. In the twilight rain, a white light could be seen emanating from the boy's body, growing stronger and stronger.

Sensing danger, Xuehe quickly swung its claws, unleashing several arcs of air blades towards its opponent. However, before the blades could even touch the boy's body, they were completely absorbed by the powerful spiritual energy surging from him. The next moment, Yuan Peilin also waved his right hand, sending a spiritual energy bullet the size of a soccer ball flying at incredible speed. The pressure caused the water on the ground to splatter, creating a ditch.

Xuehe snorted coldly and leaped high into the air, easily dodging the spiritual energy bullet. However, Yuan Peilin smiled slightly and swung his left hand, launching another monster into the air. Xuehe had no leverage, let alone the ability to dodge, and took the hit squarely, arcing through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
