Demonio del infierno - Capítulo 13

Capítulo 13

"Then I'd like you to pick up a guest at the airport."

"guest?"

...

Today is a holiday, another leisurely day. Actually, for Yuan Peilin, any day is leisurely and carefree. It's just that now he can be leisurely openly. The pure white pigeon is just like him, no, even lazier than him, already lying motionless on the bed.

“I say… Crow…” Yuan Peilin patted the pigeon’s body, “Why do I suddenly feel a little uneasy?”

The crow reluctantly raised its head and replied irritably, "There might be trouble coming your way."

“…That’s what I thought too…” Yuan Peilin said with a frown, “Then I’ll go hide.”

"Whatever, just don't disturb my rest..." the crow said, burying its head in its feathers again.

But in the next moment, both Yuan Peilin and Ya became unusually alert, as if some great calamity was about to befall them.

"This aura... it feels so familiar..." Yuan Peilin touched his forehead, racking his brains, when suddenly he exclaimed in alarm, "Oh no! Could it be that he's found us?!"

"If I remember correctly, it seems to be him..." Crow said strangely.

Yuan Peilin immediately jumped up, put on his shoes and changed his clothes, and was about to go out.

"Why are you so afraid of him?" Crow asked curiously.

Yuan Peilin gripped the doorknob and turned back to explain, "Fool! He's not just trouble, he's big trouble. If you stay with him, you're bound to get stuck!" He finished speaking as quickly as possible, opened the door to step out, but then realized something was wrong; it seemed someone was blocking his view. Looking up, he saw a person.

The man blocking the doorway was clearly foreign, in his early twenties, with glossy brown hair, soft facial features, a high but not jarring nose, and an upturned mouth that seemed to always be smiling. Overall, he was a rare, refined type among Europeans. However, in Yuan Peilin's eyes, he appeared to be the embodiment of evil…

"Hi! Pei Lin, I've come to see you. Are you happy?" The foreign man chuckled incessantly as soon as he saw the stunned boy.

Lin, his face covered in sweat, could only manage a forced smile. Since things had come to this, they had no choice but to let him inside.

The foreign man looked around as soon as he entered, as if he had entered a dragon palace. The boy sitting to the side could only manage a wry smile.

"Hey! Fia, how did you know I was here?"

“Actually… I’m here to take care of some things.” Fia finally finished her tour, pulled up a chair and sat down. “I didn’t expect to sense you in this city. You know, we vampires are very sensitive to the location of acquaintances.”

"Oh..." Yuan Peilin listened with an indifferent expression.

Fia waited a while, and seeing that the boy in front of her had nothing more to say, she put on an exasperated look: "Hey, you really have no manners, why didn't you ask me what I'm here to deal with!?"

"What right do I have to pry into your private affairs..."

"Who...who said it was a private matter?! It's business! Business!"

"No matter what it is, I just don't want to know..."

“…Alright, since you’re not willing, then forget it…” Fia sighed seriously, “But you can at least treat me to a meal, right?”

Yuan Peilin looked up and stared intently into Fia's eyes: "Is it really just a meal?"

Fia nodded quickly: "Of course! When have I ever lied to you!?"

“Yes, you always forget about lying to me very quickly.” Yuan Peilin glanced at his watch; it was indeed time for dinner. He stood up and said, “Let’s go, let’s finish this quickly.”

"Hey, Crow, aren't you going to eat?" Fia ignored Yuan Peilin's complaints.

The white pigeon didn't even bother to lift its head, and a muffled voice came from its feathers: "I don't need to eat, I just need to sleep..."

Reply [30]: "Hey! Hey! Fia! Don't be so greedy! I'm a poor student!"

At a mid-range restaurant nearby, Yuan Peilin watched his old friend order food, and beads of sweat appeared on his face.

"We haven't seen each other for so long! I think this is too shabby!" Fia seemed completely unappreciative.

"You vampires, isn't it enough to just drink blood? That's such a waste!"

While chewing her food, Fia mumbled a reply, "Idiot! We high-level vampires have strict rules. We can only drink a small amount of blood each month, and we can't kill anyone."

Yuan Peilin looked at the pile of food on the table and said with a bitter smile, "...But you're sucking my blood in large quantities..."

When the two walked out of the restaurant, Fia's belly was bulging, and she had a satisfied expression on her face. Yuan Peilin, on the other hand, had tears in his eyes; it was said that this meal had cost him half a month's living expenses.

"Alright, let's go back and rest then," Fia said, putting her arm around Yuan Peilin's shoulder and letting out a burp.

"Rest? Where to?"

"Of course it's your house."

Yuan Peilin looked like she was about to faint: "Wait...wait, didn't you say you'd let me go after we finished eating?"

"Let him go?" Fia looked deeply hurt. "How could you say that? We're friends! Would you be happy if I slept on the streets?"

"Please! Your family business is so big, you can stay in a presidential suite at a luxury hotel whenever you want, why would you come and squeeze into this cramped apartment with me..."

"That's different! How can you stay comfortably in such a cold and impersonal place? Your room is much more welcoming."

"Oh no!" Yuan Peilin was already rolling her eyes. Despite her efforts, it was all for naught. A really tough problem was about to befall her. It had been like that before, and it certainly wouldn't be different now… Just as she was thinking this, she suddenly noticed that Fia, who had been walking beside her, had stopped, and her expression had become quite serious, a stark contrast to her previous demeanor.

"What's wrong, Fia?" Yuan Peilin asked curiously, and stopped in his tracks.

“Another acquaintance has come…” Fia did not answer directly, her gaze remaining fixed on what was in front of her.

Yuan Peilin followed his gaze and saw a woman standing at the corner ahead. Although she appeared to be of East Asian descent, she wore a dark red priest's robe and held an exquisite cross in her hand. She was coldly staring at Fia, her eyes filled with intense killing intent.

A clergyman! Yuan Peilin's premonition of trouble had indeed come true. He must have come here chasing after Fia, who was a vampire. However, what this unfortunate boy didn't expect was that even bigger trouble was yet to come. From around the corner, another person slowly emerged, with cascading black hair, long sideburns reaching his chest, and a seemingly perpetually cold expression…

Qing Lin Anxue “Learn from… junior sister”.

Yuan Peilin had a rough idea of what was going on. Fia had done something wrong somewhere and was being hunted down by clergy. Once the clergy arrived in this city, they would naturally contact the Qinglin family, who were renowned in the exorcism world, for help. Therefore, he might very well be dragged into a conflict with the Holy See because of this vampire bastard. This… this was no joke!

“Philipblit Ka Denar, you have nowhere to run now. You might as well accept the Lord’s punishment…” the priest said calmly, uttering Fia’s full name.

“I’m very touched that a beautiful lady like you could remember my name so accurately…” Fia resumed her playful tone, “But I don’t recall ever doing anything wrong that would warrant your Lord’s punishment…”

The priest's dark eyes flashed with a sharp light: "Stop making excuses! You murdered sixteen innocent people in Gaes and Gordana! Such a crime cannot be forgiven by the Lord!"

"Huh? Sixteen civilians murdered!?" Yuan Peilin was taken aback and turned to look at Fia. "Hey, didn't you have a rule against killing people?"

When confronted by her friend, Fia appeared very angry: "Fool! You really think I did it?! I was framed!"

The clergy seemed unmoved by the argument: "Out of the Lord's mercy, I will give you three more minutes to repent. I hope you will willingly accept the punishment..."

"Senior." The long-haired girl, who had been silent until now, stared coldly at Yuan Peilin. "Please explain why you're with a vampire..."

"This...this..." Yuan Peilin touched his neck, his face covered in large beads of sweat, and suddenly made a clenching motion with his hands. "Actually, it's like this! I just happened to be going the same way as this foreigner and chatted with him for a bit, haha...it seems like this has nothing to do with me! Goodbye everyone!" He waved his hand and turned to walk away.

As a result, the poor boy hadn't taken more than a few steps when Fia grabbed his shoulder: "Hey! You can't be so heartless! We're old friends!"

"Please... today is a rare holiday..." Yuan Peilin pleaded softly.

"Which is more important, a friend's life or a holiday!?"

"You're not that easy to kill, you might as well run away..."

"Idiot! If I could still run, why would I need you?!"

"..."

"The time has come..." The priest interrupted the pointless conversation between the two people in front of him and issued his final ultimatum.

Reply [31]: Fia turned around and said seriously, "Miss Barberney, could you please give me some more time? I have found the real murderer and came to this city to settle this matter..."

Barberen didn't answer. Instead, she held the cross to her chest, closed her eyes, and silently said, "A strange aura fills the air, a great canopy has been laid in the sky, all chosen creatures, accept your destiny, shift your gaze, and see a new world..."

As the incantation ended, a blinding light emanated from beneath the clergy's feet, forming a massive circular array. The surrounding scenery gradually blurred, and when it cleared again, it became clear that while the scenery remained the same, there were no people, vehicles, or even trees to be seen. In other words, apart from these four individuals, all other life had vanished.

"A barrier... I see. So that's your answer." Fia said with a smile. "Since you don't believe me, then there's no other way but to fight."

“You have given up the chance to be redeemed by the Lord…” The cross in Barberen’s hand began to radiate golden light, and then a blade of light extended from the top of the cross. She charged towards Fia with the holy sword in her hand, “Then let me, in the name of the Lord, sever your defiled soul!”

"Hmph, always these high-sounding words!" Fia's eyes gradually changed from azure blue to blood red, and two sharp fangs emerged. Along with these changes, a powerful aura erupted from him, raising a cloud of dust. This was the battle form of a high-level vampire.

Barberen rushed in front of Fia, wielding her sword in a sweeping motion that left a dazzling golden afterglow as she slashed towards Fia's chest. Fia's hands were enveloped in a dark mist; one hand pushed against the priest's blade, producing a soft "pop" as the blade rebounded, while her other hand seized the opportunity to thrust at the priest's face.

In the nick of time, Barberenne bent backward and tilted her head back, barely dodging the attack. At the same time, the Holy Cross slashed back again, and Fia sprang into the air, performing a somersault. As soon as she landed, she charged forward again, waving her arms and engaging the priest in battle.

While Barberney and Fia were locked in a fierce battle, another pair of teenagers remained silent as they stared at each other. It was Qinglin Anxue who spoke first.

"Senior, I never expected you to be friends with this vampire..."

Yuan Peilin smiled wryly: "Actually... although this guy is indeed a vampire and always causes trouble for others, he's not a bad person. I think there must be some mistake."

“No! Vampires have always viewed humans as prey! You are the one who is wrong…” Qing Lin Anxue said coldly.

"..."

For Yuan Peilin, this was indeed a huge problem. Because of this misunderstanding, his junior's opinion of him had returned to what it was like when they first met—no, it might be even worse. Just as the poor boy was racking his brains for a solution, the long-haired girl took out a pure white, semi-transparent rectangular object from her waist. Then, she held the middle part of the object with both hands and unfolded it to both sides, turning it into a small, short bow.

"Ice Bow Demon Hunter!?" Yuan Peilin exclaimed in surprise.

"This is what my father asked me to bring. It was originally intended to deal with the vampire..." Something flickered in Qing Lin Anxue's eyes, but her expression remained unchanged. She slowly raised the bow horizontally, pointing it at Yuan Peilin. "I never expected that the first person I would use it to attack would be... you, senior..."

"I see..." Facing Qing Lin Anxue, Yuan Peilin calmed down, his tone returning to its usual indifference: "Don't worry, your senior won't die so easily..."

"Well... I'm sorry to offend you, senior!"

Qing Lin Anxue's body was suddenly enveloped in a layer of white mist, her long, glossy black hair fluttering as if blown by the wind. She held a bow in one hand and placed the other on the bowstring. Strangely, the bow had no string, yet a clear sound of air being pierced was heard. A flash of light, and an ice arrow had already flown past Yuan Peilin's ear, striking the telephone pole behind him. The pole was instantly covered in ice, and with a few cracks, it crumbled into ice blocks.

Yuan Peilin felt a sharp pain in his ears from the cold. If he hadn't used his spiritual power to protect himself in time, they would probably have been frozen off. Half of his hair was covered in ice strands. As expected of the Qinglin family's heirloom, its power was truly astounding.

“So…” Qing Lin Anxue said calmly, “Even if you are very strong, don’t hold back.”

"I understand." Yuan Peilin smiled gently. This cold junior was unexpectedly considerate, using this arrow as a reminder.

Then, the second arrow came. Yuan Peilin leaped to the side, but the moment his feet touched the ground, the third arrow was already upon him. He had no choice but to leap again, now looking utterly pathetic. Finally, driven to the brink, the ice arrow shot towards the pitiful boy in mid-air. In a desperate move, he concentrated his spiritual energy in his hands, forming a thick defensive barrier, and managed to withstand the attack, though his hands were still frozen stiff by the aftershock.

Then, she landed and rushed towards where Qing Lin and An Xue were standing. Yuan Peilin knew very well that increasing the distance would only be more disadvantageous to him. The long-haired girl leaned to avoid the opponent's punch, lightly jumped backward, and in mid-air, she did a somersault, shooting an arrow while headfirst.

This ice arrow was different from the previous one; its arrowhead was spherical, and it suddenly exploded upon reaching the boy, creating countless ice shards that shot towards Yuan Peilin. "Ha!" Yuan Peilin shouted, unleashing his spiritual power to break through the ice shards…

On the other hand, the battle between Barberen and Fia continues.

Fia's shoulder was slashed open by the Holy Cross Sword, from which white smoke continuously rose. Although vampires possess extraordinary regenerative abilities, their resistance to such a blessed weapon is significantly weakened, and they experience considerable pain. However, this pain did not manifest on Fia's face; the corners of his mouth remained in an upward curve, unchanged even during his high-speed movement.

Barberen raised the holy sword high, infusing it with holy power, making the blade's light even brighter, and slashed diagonally at Fia who was approaching. But Fia seemed to have anticipated her move, stomping one foot hard on the ground and her upper body dodging backward in an incredible motion, the tip of the sword grazing her clothes.
