Demonio del infierno - Capítulo 22
Reply [51]: Episode 5 The Spirit Sorcerer (Part 1)
Spiritual power generally refers to the latent energy within a human being. A psychic is someone who possesses the ability to perceive and utilize this energy. Because of the different ways and means of utilizing spiritual power, many different types of psychics have emerged.
The most common type is those who can directly unleash spiritual power. However, among this group, there are a very small number of individuals who can freely manipulate spiritual power and thus change its state; in the psychic world, they are known as "spiritual sorcerers."
Coincidentally, Yuan Peilin was one of them. He just didn't know it himself.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, psychics recover much faster than normal people. At least this severely injured boy was able to walk on his own two days after waking up, although he was still somewhat slow.
After several days, Yuan Peilin was finally able to bask in the sun. Although the winter sun wasn't very strong, it was still some comfort for someone whose body was almost stiff from lying down.
Because the vibrations from each step might aggravate the wound, causing pain or bleeding, Hara tried to walk slowly. He sat down on the veranda characteristic of the timber-framed house, enjoying the fresh morning air.
The courtyard was large, yet it didn't feel empty. The pond, stone path, and wooden house complemented each other perfectly, giving one the feeling of being in a secluded paradise. Yuan Peilin liked the layout very much; it was refined without being decadent, elegant without being jarring.
The sky was still overcast, like it was covered with a plastic film, not clear at all. In this season, there probably wouldn't be any birds flying by... Wait, there really is a bird. Flying closer, it was a pure white... pigeon? Hara sighed, clearly already knowing who it was.
"Hi, Pei Lin, are you alright?" A white dove flapped its wings and landed beside the boy.
"Do I look fine now?" Yuan Peilin replied weakly. "I almost died."
"I already know, it seems we've encountered a very formidable opponent."
"You know? How did you find out?" Yuan Peilin asked curiously.
“I am a spirit bird. When you didn’t come home that night, I knew something had happened, so I found you here entirely by relying on my senses. You were still unconscious at that time.”
"Then why didn't you rely on your intuition to save me back then? You're always like this, disappearing when it matters most!"
"At that time, I was busy sleeping..."
“…Fine, I didn’t say anything.” The boy finally waved his hand in surrender, then suddenly remembered something and said with a serious face, “Crow, there’s something I want to ask you.”
"What's up?"
"When I was in great danger, I suddenly used something very strange." Under Ya's questioning gaze, Yuan Peilin recounted the events in detail.
"A sword? You mean the sword formed when you release spiritual power?" The white dove showed a surprised expression for the first time (doves have expressions too?), and its voice was also mixed with excitement.
"Yes, this is the first time I've encountered something like this. Could it be a disguised spiritual energy projectile that was accidentally generated?"
“No, that’s completely different from a spirit energy blast!” Raven said slowly. Yuan Peilin had never seen it so serious before. “You should be happy. It seems your ability has awakened.”
"Hey, Crow! What are you talking about?!" Yuan Peilin chuckled dryly, trying to retort. He never believed he had any ability to awaken.
"Fool! You have the potential to be a spirit sorcerer!"
"...Spiritual mage?" The somewhat bewildered boy began to search his mind for the concept of this term.
But Crow was getting impatient with his refusal to explain: "Don't you understand? The spirit sword you just mentioned is a form of spirit magic that allows a spirit sorcerer to change the state of their spirit power."
"But...but, as far as I know, a spirit sorcerer's abilities should be innate..."
"It's all because of your personality! You're so careless about everything. If you hadn't been in such a dangerous situation, you probably wouldn't have made any progress!"
Yuan Peilin remained silent, still finding it difficult to accept the explanation given by Ya. Spirit masters were extremely rare spiritual beings, and perhaps only one would appear every many years. Given his personality, he did not want to have such an identity, because it would mean encountering more and more trouble.
"Then, Raven, how did you know I possess the abilities of a spirit sorcerer?" The unwilling boy seemed to want to confirm it further.

Reply [52]: "...Well..." Crow hesitated for a moment, "You'll understand later."
"Hey! What kind of explanation is that!?"
The pure white dove ignored Yuan Peilin's complaints and flapped its wings to fly into the air: "In short, the abilities of a spirit sorcerer are very flexible. Think more about how to use them!" With that, it disappeared into the distance with great elegance.
"...Damn it! That's basically saying nothing at all..."
"Did that pigeon come to visit you?"
Just as the frustrated boy was grumbling in the direction where the crow had disappeared, he was startled by a sudden whisper. Turning around, he found Qing Lin Anxue, dressed in simple and elegant attire, standing beside him.
"Ah...yes, have you been here for a long time?" Yuan Peilin didn't want Qing Lin Anxue to know that she was a spirit sorcerer at the moment, and it was best to let things take their course.
"No, I just saw you sitting here." Qing Lin Anxue still had an indifferent expression. "If you don't wear more clothes, you might catch a cold."
"It's okay, the weather isn't very cold right now, is it?"
"Hmm... I don't know, I don't think I feel cold."
"Hehe, that's not bad either, you don't have to wear heavy winter clothes."
Qing Lin Anxue responded softly, then kept her eyes fixed on the clear pond, "...Senior."
"What?"
"Will you... help us?" Her voice was very soft. For this usually aloof girl, it must have been quite rare for her to say something like that.
"Are you referring to the repeated attacks on exorcists?" Yesterday, Yuan Peilin had already learned the general details of the matter.
"Um, I'm sorry, even though you're so badly injured, I still..." Qing Lin Anxue didn't finish her sentence.
As the water flows over the bamboo tubes in the pond, the tubes immediately sink and hit the dewy stone platform, making a pleasant "clanging" sound that easily creates the illusion of traveling through time.
