Capítulo 41

Chi Cheng was in a bad mood and didn't want to start a conversation.

He simply made up an excuse, "Honey, I'm going to have a smoke, I'll be right back."

Shi Ling didn't look at him, but responded with a sound.

He turned and left after saying that.

Chi Cheng leaned against the toilet and smoked, glancing at his phone as he did so.

The agent was acquainted with his parents; they were introduced by a friend. The agent informed his parents of the situation as soon as the notification was issued, so as not to blame him for not handling things properly.

His parents have always been lenient with him, and they let him go even if he didn't want to go to the United States.

Moreover, although Chi Cheng seemed unreliable, he generally managed to get things done fairly well, both big and small. For example, his GPA was decent, and he successfully applied to King's College London. So they weren't too worried. They would scold him a little for not applying for a language school earlier just in case, and that was it.

Chi's mother originally suggested that it would be better to go to other schools with lower requirements. Chi's father felt that it wouldn't matter if a boy missed a year; he should try his best in the last two months, and if it didn't work out, he could wait until next year to study at KCL, rather than settling for other schools.

However, his parents still urged him to come back and make one last effort. Chi Cheng was under pressure, thinking that it would be good if Shi Ling could comfort him with a few words of understanding, and that the two of them could go back together and help him study.

However, he was stubborn, and Shi Ling, with her personality, would only be more unyielding than him.

Who told him to have favored Shi Ling's aloof appearance back then? Now, at this critical juncture, he's suffering in silence.

Unbeknownst to Chi Cheng, he had already smoked his second cigarette.

Men and women around them were holding hands and putting their arms around each other's waists, and you could even hear faint, abnormal noises coming from the men's restroom.

He was feeling irritable and didn't care about any of these things.

When he came to his senses, he realized that there was another person standing on the opposite wall of the corridor where he was leaning, also leaning against the wall in a similar lazy posture.

When Han Yue saw him looking over, she smiled warmly and said, "Oh, you've finally looked at me?"

Chi Cheng did not respond.

She continued, "Do you know how long I've been standing here?"

Han Yue walked over, leaned closer to him, and tentatively put her hand on his shoulder.

"You were completely unfocused for a full five minutes," she breathed softly, her voice gentle and alluring. "Is Shi Ling that displeasing to you?"

Chi Cheng shook her off, his tone unfriendly, "Get lost."

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he spoke, making him look even more sexy.

Han Yue rarely encounters such an exceptional person, and seeing their strained relationship, it seems there's an opportunity to take advantage of it.

She licked her lips, undeterred. "Afraid Shi Ling will find out?"

"It's okay, I'm available anytime."

After she finished speaking, she took out a piece of paper from her bag. On it were bright red numbers, which she had obviously written in lipstick beforehand.

He used his fingers to pinch and stuff it into Chi Cheng's shirt pocket.

Chi Cheng pressed her hand down, his eyes showing impatience. "I don't want to."

Han Yue was resentful after being rejected by him time and time again.

"Shi Ling is so boring, she's not right for you at all. She's always acting like a moral guardian, as if anyone's jokes with her are a disgrace to her. You know her ex-boyfriend, right? They dated for three years, and he broke up with her because he thought she was boring."

Han Yue glanced at Chi Cheng's eyes and continued, "She even encouraged him to take the postgraduate entrance exam, but he didn't want to take it anymore and just dropped her. So, how about that? Shi Ling wasn't really developed by him very well, was she?"

Chi Cheng was already annoyed, but what she said made him laugh in anger.

Han Yue thought he didn't know Shi Ling's ex-boyfriend, and was persuaded by her.

“But I’m different.” She raised her hand to stroke his Adam’s apple. “You and I are the same kind of people.”

This time, Chi Cheng didn't stop her, and Han Yue took advantage of the situation and hooked her arm around his neck.

Just as she was about to tiptoe to kiss him, Chi Cheng dodged away.

He looked at her mockingly, "Getting impatient already?"

Chi Cheng pried her hands off, calmly stepped back a few paces, and stood at the entrance of the men's restroom, looking at her. "Come in."

Han Yue glanced around, then tugged at his collar before entering the men's restroom, saying, "Waiting for you."

Chi Cheng glanced at her as she went in and found a private room, leaving the door half-closed and waiting for him to enter.

The door was closed from the outside the next second.

Han Yue was stunned for a moment, then gently pulled on the door, but couldn't budge it.

Chi Cheng had already inserted the wooden-handled brush next to him into the protruding ring handle of the door. The brush handle was stuck on the side of the door, which opened inwards, and Han Yue could not pull it open for a while no matter what she did.

Han Yue tugged a few more times before realizing she'd fallen into Chi Cheng's trap. However, she was in the men's restroom, so she just banged on the door in a low voice, "You fucking let me out."

Chi Cheng had an impression of the door's structure when he went to the toilet.

He was already unusually irritable tonight, and Han Yue came to provoke him. If he were single, he wouldn't mind playing around with her, but she just had to stir up trouble between him and Shi Ling.

Since she had come to him, Chi Cheng indulged his temper and played with her to vent his anger, which relieved most of the resentment in his heart.

He didn't care that Han Yue was Shi Ling's classmate. For people who come out to have fun, these tricks are naturally something they have to bear the consequences of themselves, and they have to swallow whatever they want.

He knocked on the door. "Figure it out yourself."

She added, "Don't flirt with the wrong person."

After Chi Cheng finished speaking, he left, leaving Han Yue to fend for herself inside.

As he washed his hands at the sink, he glanced in the mirror and realized that Shi Ling was standing behind him with her arms crossed, coldly watching him.

Chi Cheng subconsciously raised his hand to smooth out the collar of his shirt, which was clearly wrinkled from being pulled by Han Yue earlier.

Shi Ling had already spoken, her voice even colder, sounding completely out of place in such a noisy place as a KTV.

Her voice was full of disappointment, "I saw it."

The author has something to say: I must say that Shi Ling was not angry because she misunderstood Chi Cheng's infidelity.

How could a fairy like her worry about Chi Cheng's infidelity?

As for the disappointment, you can figure it out for yourselves.

It'll be here soon.

By the way, the Cantonese Golden Hits Revival is back online.

Chapter 30 "The Maiden's Prayer"

Love him a few more kilometers

When this lamp turns red, we will part ways.

--A Girl's Prayer

The water from the tap flowed for a short while.

Chi Cheng carefully observed Shi Ling's expression in the mirror.

He asked her casually, "What brings you here?"

He turned off the tap and dried his hands with a tissue.

Only then did he slowly turn around to face Shi Ling.

When Chi Cheng turned around this time, a slight smile appeared on his lips, as if he were a completely different person from the ruthless one who had been teasing him just moments before.

Shi Ling frowned. "I saw you've been smoking for so long."

Chi Cheng has been out for at least twenty minutes.

Shi Ling knew that her earlier urging him to return to Guangzhou for the exam might have annoyed him, which was why he had gone so long as an escape. Her initiative to come out and find him was a sign of humility, a way of avoiding provoking him and wanting to wait until the atmosphere between them was better before discussing things further.

However, upon exiting, Han Yue saw the two of them. She brushed past Chi Cheng and entered the men's restroom. Chi Cheng immediately lowered his eyes, his smile vanished, and he followed her in with a look of disgust.

He soon came out to wash his hands, a smug look on his face.

It's easy to tell when Chi Cheng is secretly pleased with himself. He almost never smiles, only his eyes are smiling, and his eye bags are very obvious.

Moreover, one side of the lips is slightly upturned.

Even as they were talking, they could still faintly hear Han Yue's movements inside the men's restroom, still banging on the door and calling out softly.

The two exchanged a few words, but Chi Cheng still seemed to be avoiding answering the question about what had just happened.

Shi Ling sighed and asked bluntly, "Is this really necessary?"

Chi Cheng had no idea how much she had seen, including when Han Yue had teased him earlier when he looked displeased. He simply raised an eyebrow and asked her, "How was it?"

"Just ignore her," Shi Ling said, her voice tinged with dissatisfaction. "Why do you have to do that?"

Chi Cheng breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

She said that because she only saw the scene of him punishing Han Yue.

The real reason Han Yue sensed something was off was his agitation, which was written all over his face when he smoked, leading her to believe that he and Shi Ling were just incompatible casual sex partners.

This is also what Chi Cheng least wants Shi Ling to see.

Chi Cheng was confident this time and wanted to coax her, but in the end he felt that his smile was stiff.

Therefore, the smile and the words that were about to come out seemed somewhat indifferent.

"So what do you want me to do?"

Shi Ling didn't care what he did; he had already done it. She was just a little disappointed in his actions.

Shi Ling has always disdained to trip others up like this. No one is born with an unwavering, short-lived, and persistent devotion. If someone is, it can only be said that their rejection was not clear enough, leaving the other person with a glimmer of hope.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Chi Cheng nodded, "Okay."

He turned and walked toward the men's restroom.

Shi Ling knew what he was going to do, so she grabbed his clothes instead.

Let's go.

This means they don't want him to open the door for Han Yue.

Chi Cheng looked at her with amusement.
