Capítulo 22

“That’s a projection of the Sea of Illusion.” After he finished speaking, he took out a scale and handed it to Fu Mingxu. “This is a dragon scale that fell from the city lord. It will lead you to him.”

This piece of dragon soul was larger than the palm of my hand, and it gleamed with a cold and sharp light in the sunlight.

Having made his decision, Fu Mingxu had no reason to hesitate. He took the dragon scale, which was warm to the touch.

Han Zhengzhi did not see the surprise in his eyes and said solemnly, "Master Fu, thank you."

There was no need to say anything more. Fu Mingxu stood at the entrance of the forbidden area, only glancing at the water-like barrier before nodding and taking a step forward. His entire body disappeared before his eyes.

Once the endless giant tree once again came into view, Han Zhengzhi finally breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

He recalled the scene he had witnessed in the folded space of the city lord's mansion, and it still struck him as horrifying.

The enormous dragon tumbled in the lake, and the surrounding houses collapsed. Amidst the ruins, only the small bamboo courtyard where Fu Mingxu had once stayed remained.

Before Han Zhengzhi could ask any questions or express his shock, he was stunned into place by the immense demonic energy emanating from the dragon.

The dragon's breath roared in, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed back into human form.

The outer rings of their golden pupils turned black, as if stained with filth that could not be cleaned.

Fortunately, Han Tao was still rational. He said coldly to Han Zhengzhi, "I need to go to the forbidden area. Don't tell anyone."

The demonic energy emanating from him was almost tangible, and demonic patterns wrapped around his neck like poisonous vines, while pain flashed in his golden eyes.

Han Zhengzhi was filled with fear and instinctively asked, "What happened? City Lord, shouldn't your injuries have healed by now?"

He looked around, "Where is Master Fu?"

It would have been better if he hadn't asked. As soon as he did, Han Tao vomited a mouthful of black blood, and when he looked at him again, his golden eyes were already swept away by a storm.

An overwhelming sense of dread swept over Han Zhengzhi, as if all of this was perfectly natural.

Han Tao offered no explanation, only roaring, "Don't bring him back!"

After saying that, he directly opened the teleportation array in the folded space leading to the forbidden area in the back mountain. After a dragon's roar, the folded space began to collapse inch by inch.

Han Zhengzhi had no idea what had happened and was instantly at a loss after he left. It took him a long time to regain his composure.

The city lord's condition was very strange, and these strange things obviously could not be known to others.

But he knew that, regardless of the reason why the city lord fell into demonic ways, if he really did fall into demonic ways, something many times more terrible than the war between good and evil would happen.

After much deliberation, Han Zhengzhi, still without any clue, decided to go find Fu Mingxu.

In his search, he discovered that the other party had already left the city lord's mansion.

His mind went blank for a moment, and without thinking of anything else, he left the city as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, he was lucky enough to find Fu Mingxu in time.

Fortunately, the other party didn't ask too many questions and followed along trustingly.

Han Zhengzhi stood anxiously in front of the forbidden area on the back mountain for a long time, and only after receiving a message from Ao Yushu did he force himself to go back.

On the way back, he looked back at the forbidden area in the back mountain almost every step of the way until his gaze was far away.

The trees are lush and the giant trees are abundant; everything seems to have remained largely unchanged.

.

The deep blue, tranquil seawater flowed silently, its unique salty scent wafting through the air. Beneath the white clouds, the deep blue remained undisturbed, no matter how strong the wind, not even a ripple could be stirred.

When Fu Mingxu actually stepped inside, he discovered the amazing sight of the sea hanging upside down in the sky.

This is merely a projection of the Sea of Illusion here, while the real Sea of Illusion is tens of thousands of miles away.

Fu Mingxu was amazed for a moment. Looking at the boundless sea in the sky, he became tense a beat later.

Where is Han Tao now? Has he really fallen into demonic possession?

If the final outcome is still like this, then wouldn't everything he did before be meaningless, a complete failure?

Only now did he realize that, apart from treating Han Tao's injuries, he had actually paid far too little attention to him.

But it's too late for regrets now; the chance to turn back time has long passed. He needs to find Han Tao as soon as possible.

Fu Mingxu stood still in the place where he had just entered, holding the hard scale. He did not look around, but placed the scale in front of his chest, staring at the fine golden patterns on it, calming down to carefully feel it.

Han Tao, where are you?

As a gust of wind blew by, Fu Mingxu suddenly had a flash of inspiration and looked to his right.

The projection space that was just now the Sea of Illusion distorted, and the dragon scales in his palm suddenly became hot. As he looked down and then up again, the light was sucked away in an instant, leaving only endless darkness.

By the time Fu Mingxu realized what was happening, the golden dragon scales had become the only source of light.

In the dark world, it seemed as if he was all alone, accompanied only by loneliness.

Fu Mingxu's heart skipped a beat. He subconsciously looked around, only to see thick darkness stretching endlessly into the distance.

Fu Mingxu guessed that he had entered another dimension, even though he didn't know how he had suddenly entered.

He instinctively gripped the dragon scales tightly, completely unaware that his palms were being cut by the sharp edges of the scales. He also failed to notice that the bright red blood did not drip down, but was instead absorbed cleanly by the dragon scales.

By the time Fu Mingxu felt a slight pain, only a light white scar remained on his palm.

Hmm? When did his palm get injured?

But he quickly lost interest in this small problem; his lips began to tighten, and a deep-seated defense within him reminded him to leave.

Fu Mingxu could sense that in the unknown depths of dense darkness, a pair of eyes were secretly watching him.

"Lord of the city, is that you?" He wasn't afraid. After taking a deep breath, he looked straight in the direction he sensed and boldly said, "Come out."

His response was an ever-thickening darkness, as if it were about to engulf him.

And there was that faint, labored breathing, as if afraid he would hear it.

He knew who was secretly watching him in the dark.

There's no need to guess at all, because there's no one else but Han Tao.

No one responded to him. The peeping gaze became sticky the moment he spoke, like a viscous spider web, trying to bind him within its gaze.

Fu Mingxu's palms were sweating, and he gripped the dragon scales tighter. He simply closed his eyes and tried to use his divine sense to follow the other's gaze.

He even tried using the communication channel the two of them had previously established, and softly called out "Han Tao".

His voice was very soft, like a whisper.

The thick darkness began to change slightly. The first thing he heard was the increasingly heavy breathing, which lingered in his ears, and the familiar dragon breath seemed to be right next to him.

His porcelain-white ears involuntarily flushed red. Fu Mingxu tugged at his sleeves uncomfortably, forcing himself to focus on the darkness, trying to find any clues to prove Han Tao's existence.

But he soon chuckled at his own nervous behavior. Who else could be here besides him and Han Tao?

Having figured this out, the tension brought on by the darkness eased slightly. He closed his eyes and then opened them again, a smile playing on his lips, his voice soft: "Han Tao, are you angry?"

The ferocious beast hid in the darkness, remaining silent, yet its gaze followed his figure as if it were a tangible object.

Fu Mingxu paused, then took two steps forward following the direction of the dragon scales' senses. He felt the increasingly heavy breathing and said in a low voice, "If you don't show up soon, I'm leaving."

After saying that, he clasped his hands together to cover the dragon scales, blocking out the only source of light in the darkness and immersing himself in the thick darkness.

Then he turned and walked in the opposite direction.

In the instant darkness completely engulfed him, Fu Mingxu seemed to sense something was about to happen, and his heart began to pound wildly.

Sure enough, he had only taken half a step in the darkness when he heard the sound of the wind.

Everything happened very quickly.

As the wind approached, he felt a sudden tightening around his waist, and a tremendous force swept him away, causing his dark hair, which had been hanging down his chest, to flutter.

"Ah!" Suddenly "attacked", Fu Mingxu couldn't help but cry out in surprise. He could no longer close his hands, and the dragon scales in his palms fell to the ground.

The golden light on the dragon scales spread out, and as he looked down, he saw a golden, shimmering tail wrapped around his waist.

Fu Mingxu had sharp eyes. Although it was only for a moment, he saw the traces of the wound on the tail that had just healed and smelled the familiar bitter medicine.

It is the tail of the dragon in Hantao.

Having confirmed this, he felt slightly relieved and let the dragon's tail carry him away.

The feeling of his feet being off the ground wasn't too uncomfortable; although he had a lot of strength in his waist, it remained within a range that didn't cause him any discomfort.

The dragon's tail coiled around him, taking him further and further away from the spot where the dragon scales had fallen. Fu Mingxu gradually moved away from the only source of light, and his hands instinctively gripped the dragon's tail before he was plunged into darkness once more.

When the dragon's tail stopped, the panting sounds I had heard earlier reached my ears.

The darkness was so still that, with the eyes unable to see, other senses became even more acute.

Fu Mingxu felt a tingling sensation from the warm breath on his earlobe. He instinctively tilted his head slightly and kicked his legs as if to complain, "This is a bit tiring. Let me go first."

His response was the solid feeling of his feet on the ground.

Han Tao's dragon tail released him, but the grip around his waist remained. Fu Mingxu struggled for a moment, but finally fell into the hard embrace.

Fu Mingxu was stunned, his whole body stiffening.

In the darkness, Han Tao remained silent, but his increasingly heavy breathing made him feel uncomfortable all over, and he wished he could just escape.

When the dragon tail on his waist was replaced by a hand, Fu Mingxu struggled a few more times, but when he realized that the strength of the other person's palm was also beyond his ability to resist, he had no choice but to give up.

His patience was gradually worn down by the unfathomable darkness, especially as he felt the pressure on his waist not loosen, and the palms pressed against his waist began to burn.

"Let go of me!" Unable to move an inch, Fu Mingxu could only threaten verbally, "Han Tao! If you don't let go, I'll really get angry!"

Once he said it, he himself felt that it didn't have much of a deterrent effect.

The two silently battled in the darkness until Fu Mingxu almost lost his strength from the struggle. Not only did the binding force not decrease in the slightest, but the breath beside his ear also turned scalding hot.

Suddenly, all his movements stopped.

A slight dampness touched her earlobe, one ear enveloped in warm breath, and the hand holding her waist slowly tightened.

Fu Mingxu's mind exploded with a "boom," his fair face gradually flushed red, and his remaining composure crumbled inch by inch under the sudden movement of the person behind him.

Damn it! He thinks Han Tao isn't just a fallen god, he's more like someone in heat!

Fu Mingxu's anger surged, and extreme rage burned away his reason. In his fury, unable to move his waist, he suddenly turned his head and his pearly white teeth accurately bit the chin of the person behind him.

In his rage, he used tremendous force, and one could taste a metallic sweetness in his mouth.

"Mmm..." A sound that sounded like both pain and pleasure came from behind him, making his face burn.

Just as Fu Mingxu was about to unleash a torrent of curses, the darkness began to recede like a tide, and lights gradually appeared on both sides, the thick darkness being replaced by warm yellow light in the blink of an eye.
