Capítulo 23

He finally understood why Madara Uchiha had lost his composure when he spied on Su Han's true form.

Whitebeard silently wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, inwardly agreeing to the spread of the eerie aura.

The eerie aura that had previously bound him instantly swept outwards in all directions.

Within the range of Whitebeard's Observation Haki, everything was filled with this strange aura.

"That's really an exaggeration."

Whitebeard's heart fluttered, but when he recalled the scene where Su Han had condensed plot stars with a flick of his finger, his heart calmed down.

It's only natural that the god who cannot be looked at possesses such power, isn't it?

On the other side.

Thatch and Blackbeard kept pouring each other drinks, with Blackbeard using various tricks to keep himself sober.

However, because Sachi was too honest, he ended up burping and slumping onto the table, half asleep.

"The Sachi brothers?"

Blackbeard asked tentatively, but when he found that Thatch didn't reply and even started snoring, his smile gradually turned into a sinister one.

He began searching the house and soon found the Dark Fruit.

Immediately, Blackbeard took out a small knife and aimed it at Thatch's back. "Brother Thatch, rest in peace. I will help you make this strongest Devil Fruit a great success."

"...You still did it."

A voice tinged with sadness suddenly rang out, accompanied by a tremendous roar.

The Moby Dick trembled. Wooden walls were suddenly pierced through. Whitebeard stood behind Blackbeard, his reflection cast upon him.

"Old...Father?" Blackbeard's eyelids twitched a few times. The sudden unexpected event shook him to his core.

He slowly turned his head, looked at the white beard behind him, and revealed his usual silly smile. "I was playing a game with Thatch earlier... He lost his newly acquired Devil Fruit to me."

"Dad, you're not going to interfere with this too, are you? We're pirates, you know." Blackbeard's honest demeanor betrayed a hint of displeasure.

Even Whitebeard had to admit that Blackbeard's acting was truly terrifying. If he hadn't witnessed the whole thing and known the truth, he might have been completely fooled.

With a few loud bangs, Marco, the captain of the first division, and Portgas D. Ace, the captain of the second division, also arrived.

Upon hearing Blackbeard's words, they looked at Whitebeard in confusion.

"My Observation Haki was locked onto Thatch's room the whole time," Whitebeard replied, seemingly changing the subject.

Blackbeard's pupils suddenly contracted, his smile remained unchanged, but his body bounced up like a ball and crashed into the ship's wall.

“You can’t escape,” Whitebeard clenched his fist, white light gathering around it, and he spoke slowly and deliberately, his expression a mixture of sorrow and anger, “Those who board my ship must not kill each other! You have violated this ironclad rule and betrayed the Whitebeard Pirates for the sake of a Devil Fruit.”

“Teach, I will not forgive you for doing this! I can never forgive you.”

Whitebeard stomped his foot on the ground with terrifying speed, appearing directly behind Blackbeard.

A terrifying punch came down from the side, striking Blackbeard squarely in the waist, causing the air to crack open.

Extreme pain surged through Blackbeard's very being. His face contorted with shock, anger, and resentment, he opened his mouth but instead coughed up blood, unable to withstand the pain, and fainted.

With a crisp thud, the Dark-Dark Fruit crashed to the ground.

Chapter 20 This Devil Fruit combination... doesn't it look a bit like Teach's?

"Dad?" Marco asked softly, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes after a brief moment of anger.

He noticed that Whitebeard was actually breathing slightly heavily. This not only indicated that Whitebeard's attack was at full power, but also that he was in a very bad mood.

“I told you before, you’re fine in combat… but try to avoid getting angry. After all, your physical condition is already quite bad.” After a slight pause, Marco continued, “It’s not worth hurting yourself for a traitor.”

Whitebeard waved his hand without saying a word.

“Teach”.

On the other side, Ace's face was grim. He and Blackbeard had a very good relationship. Upon learning that Blackbeard was planning to assassinate Thatch and betray the Whitebeard Pirates for a Devil Fruit, he felt his worldview shatter.

Although Ace desperately wanted to ask Whitebeard if it was true... he ultimately said nothing. Blackbeard's earlier escape had already proven everything.

Ace gritted his teeth, picked up the Dark-Dark Fruit from the ground, and handed it to Whitebeard, his voice hoarse, "Dad... Teach is a member of the Second Division. He did something like this, so I bear some responsibility. I hope I can deal with him!"

Whitebeard gave Ace a deep look and nodded. "Okay... but Ace, I hope you understand one thing. Blackbeard is not weak!"

"He withstood my full-force attack, but only lost consciousness."

Ace fell silent; he knew very well that on this vast ocean, very few could withstand a full-force attack from Whitebeard and survive.

“Is that so?” Marco narrowed his eyes, then added, “Then let’s add me to the mix. Two Whitebeard Division Commanders… even a Marine Admiral couldn’t escape under these circumstances.”

After a moment of silence, Whitebeard also felt that there was no major problem with this arrangement, so he nodded and walked towards the door.

Upon reaching the door, he found several members of the Whitebeard Pirates whispering amongst themselves in the corridor, their faces showing surprise and uncertainty. They were clearly startled by the unusual situation that had occurred earlier.

After all, this is the Whitebeard Pirates' Moby Dick, arguably the safest place in the world.

The reason that Thatch was so easily ambushed in the original story was not only because he trusted Blackbeard, but also because he was on the Moby Dick.

With Whitebeard at the helm, the Whitebeard Pirates were untouchable on this sea. Not even the Marines dared to offend them.

"My sons, disperse." The white-bearded man glanced around, his voice weary. "What happened today will be explained to everyone tomorrow."
